Got a horrible feeling that we might be in the Championship for a while. If we don't go up then the likes of Fer, Andre, Kryci James and Mane will be gone.
So we end up only Toti Munetsi Armstrong and a few lads. This doesn't work anymore. To get out and stay out you have to invest in quality and all we seem to do is sell our quality y.

Ever since the last Nuno season we had just gone straight down hill.
Imagine our team with Neto Jota ( rip) Ruben Neves just to name a few.
We need to invest for the return to the prem. I don't mind if it's CP in charge just invest in the players.

Zinchenko sustained a serious ACL injury in Feb and is nowhere near match fit.

Sancho has proved that he isn't that good but will demand at least £80 per week.

Icardi brings too much drama and is a liability. Just look at the reasons why Galatasary let him go.

Martial is constantly injured hence why Monterray let him go a year early.

The rest just ain't as good as they were and are either too old (Saiss and Eriksen).

Some are already complaining about Trippier and Raul being too old but understand that they can bring vital experience but how would you feel if we brought in more older players who we know simply wont be able to play 2 games a week. Not to mention the wages they would demand.

Zaha and Sterling too?

Wolves cant sign any free agents without cancelling someones contract - so not going to happen.

Neave (although a loan signing & U21) has to be registered as a normal squad place as per the rules for loan players.

Come on steve cooper being considered as Wolves' next manager.
Is that the best we can do. we will soon be in the Guinness Book of Records for having the most managers ever. We need a good quality manager who will kick some arses knows how to pick a side.

Perhaps like everyone else I am just flabbergasted what's happening with our once great club. A club we were proud to support.

The fact that the article was written by Football Insider gives it zero credence. All they do is throw so much stuff in the hope that some of it sticks.

I think Cesar has the basis of a decent team. He needs to tweak the defence so they don't look so vulnerable but he definitely needs a goal scorer. If we can get through to January in and around the top 8, I think a striker and defender will push us on.

2

18 Oct 2026 13:09:34
The trouble with saying we need a striker in January will fall on deaf ears fosun will say we have Armstrong fit an Raul will soon be fit fosun an Jackson need to go afraid Friday night only papered over the cracks all be it a better 2nd half.

2

18 Oct 2026 13:54:32
Well if that the case then it's Jackson and Shi who need to be moved on and not Cesar.

1

17 Oct 2026 19:52:08
Just read somewhere wolves are considering steve cooper to replace peixeto lord help us please.

5

17 Oct 2026 21:32:00
Good job Tommy Cooper is not available, mind you be would be too expensive for Fosun.

Hi all new to site London area fan we could of got Jordan sancho instead of said used money for wages on short term contract to get us back up has proven experience, but would he come to Wolves? really in need of new cb gk and st or start playing new gk if any good as sa performance so poor.

15 Oct 2026 15:37:58
Isn't he on £250k a week? Would you really want the club to pay him that amount when he really isn't that good.

16 Oct 2026 12:34:28
I can't motivate myself to discuss this football shower so will just say Welcome aboard Chris 👍.

16 Oct 2026 19:51:43
Zaha sterling vardy.all without a contract too.any of em would be better than we have. on a pay as you play deal.Armstrong injured leaves us with Neave 18yr old loanee.pathetic position to be in for our club.hwang sasa tolu would all have bagged goals in this division.shocking.
Expect another defeat tonight.3 in a row.and the rot sets in🫣.

That is what we have until January, the business should have been done in the summer but as I said at the weekend, we brought in 2 injury prone old men and an unproven winger, i see potential in James and I certainly think the new keeper (apologies his name escapes me), it's no good looking around on the market for free agents they are free agents for a reason! We let go to massive striker's who may have struggled in the Premier League but would have had a field day in the Championship! there is 1 common denominator here and that's Fosun we have been under prepared, under invested, and naive to think we would walk back into the Premier League with the above decisions, it's a long time until January ( but don't expect much)

14 Oct 2026 11:03:57
Agreed mate.

2

14 Oct 2026 14:10:58
Agreed ootd. Another is sasa cus he would have also caused problems in this league but when you think about how we totally dominated the undateables from down the road with their keeper saving it from being 4/5 how have we dished out these last 2 performances??. It has to be down to the manager and coaching staff.

I know them lot aren't very good but they went to Wrexham and woon after 2 derby defeats. Id like to hope we can go to burnley & win but I don't think our manager knows how to. I really hope I'm wrong but after watching my beloved team for over 62 years I think I know the answer.

5

14 Oct 2026 15:39:33
No matter what they promise for the January window, we know nothing is going to happen, just broken promises. What we have is what we are stuck with, the odd win but lots of disappointment. This is now the Wolves way, not a good club for the fans.

6

15 Oct 2026 08:02:19
and now Raul out for a quite a while.....Wolves are drifting towards a life of mediocrity in the lower tiers.
The management structure of the Club is setup just to do a "holding" job.
There is no direct leadership, 2 token directors, 1 "executive", Shi and a senior team with no real authority.

I had really hoped when the other Shi Administrator was moved on, a pro-active structure would be put in place..no, just more of the same failing strategy.

10 Oct 2026 17:32:27
James needs to start another striker ASAP far to weak up front Gomes, and Gomes need to be sold play to up front will be a long season at this rate just 3/4 not good enough.

1

10 Oct 2026 18:55:43
Couldn't understand the buying of Armstrong. He's not gonna get the 12+ goals we need from him this season. At times today I had to check that he was still on the pitch. As for the game well we've been beaten by a very average side.

2

10 Oct 2026 19:31:07
Adam Armstrong is, at best, an average player. His work rate at times is excellent, but there are times when, as you say, you wouldn't even know he's on the pitch. I can't see him getting even 10 league goals. He won't get many assists as there are other players on the pitch who will be in the right positions to get the assists. His job only seems to be to pull opposition players out of position.

If Jimenez isn't anywhere near coming back then Wolves need to play Andre, Munetsi, Jordan James and Lopez. The two remaining positions should be between Mane, Rodrigo and Said.

1

12 Oct 2026 08:20:30
Not Mane he does nothing when we are defending he needs to be a rotation with Lopez.

1

12 Oct 2026 12:14:32
Have to agree Mane needs to rotate with Lopez. Due to Mane lack of defending it puts a lot of pressure on Bueno.

I have been disappointed with how some players have really not looked good enough to start in a team aiming for promotion.
Toti - Always gives a 100%, but there is always an error in him, which costs. Very obvious in the level above, not really much better now.
Mane - I thought he would sparkle at this level, not really happening.
Armstrong - Another who works hard, but I expected him to be scoring at this level, sadly not.

Doyle - Many were not expecting much, I was..but another not really shining.
Trippier - looked a class above...until Saturday. Hope it was a one off.
So we seem to be carrying too many. Maybe things will change, here's hoping. A good performance tonight may change my view.

13 Oct 2026 08:50:28
Think most just didn't turn up. Fer when he had that good chance in the box and it went into the top stand summed our day all together. Trippier had a terrible game and would have replaced him with Jackson.

A lot of attack was going down Trippier side and he was getting beaten for pace which i think Jackson would have coped with a lot better. Anyway we move on and must turn it around tonight.

We can split hairs but ultimately we have an average squad that wasn't sufficiently added to in term of quality / spend and that's all down to Fosun. Again.

2

16 Oct 2026 09:50:51
Agree, FOSUN are the problem.
Unfortunately they own the club and sadly my beloved Wolves are in for at best mid table
The potential is there but lack of investment in the team mean that we are also rans at best.

06 Oct 2026 22:44:36
Already the usual suspects circling around Fer, not Citeh, does anyone have updates on his and Rauls' injuries ? FWAW.

1

07 Oct 2026 14:10:01
Sorry no updates on the injuries, but of course other clubs will circle like vultures around our better players because they know what Fosun are like.

30 Sep 2026 00:19:54
Giveme sport have published a list of 38 clubs that could be owed money by Man City.
Wolves could be owed £20,492,042 - so nearly 20.5 million.

30 Sep 2026 08:44:02
I know rated but they're gonna get off with some stuff cus that's the way it works & it boils my blood to think when MM sent a weakened side to old trafford & we were punished instantly. I know this is on a much bigger scale but i still think some of these charges will be dropped.

6

30 Sep 2026 10:11:50
Citeh former manager Mancini has just admitted that he had an undeclared 'double contract'. One here and the second one offshore. So, fraud? He was paid twice. He says he has done nothing wrong and the problem is nothing to do with him, it is the club's problem.

1

30 Sep 2026 08:29:57
Any rationale as to how that was calculated?
Seems v exact and to be honest low?

6

30 Sep 2026 12:21:11
20.5 Million, nice. There has to be some teenage breaking into Benfica B team we can spend that on!

2

30 Sep 2026 14:39:57
No idea futureisgold mate still digging into it all myself, not sure if any of the EDs can shed any light on it?

30 Sep 2026 16:35:44
Just a thought tfiog if City have been falsifying their accounts, a) Won't Companies House be interested? b) If they have conspired to deceive isn't that much worse in the eyes of the law?

2

30 Sep 2026 21:14:21
Long - clearly the ramifications are extremely difficult to predict/understand.
I can't disagree however with the underlying thread, as elucidated by many posters on here, of just how unjust and serious this whole matter is.
Maybe HMRC might be interested as well??
As stated though the punishment for Chelsea, ( who were also guilty of very serious matters but who seemingly cooperated with the authorities and thus received a punishment that was almost insignificant and an insult to the other clubs who did not cheat), does not give me any confidence that City will ever receive a punishment that is even vaguely in line with the seriousness of the offences they have been found guilty of committing.

Sorry but at every step the Prem has been found woefully inadequate when it came to, as Ron Moore described, of running a fair, open and honest competition for the "smaller" teams in the league.
Why should they suddenly grow a pair and take on the global super power that is City.

6

02 Oct 2026 15:46:43
Apart from HMRC problems the question must surely be asked, do the current owners pass the 'fit and proper' test which the answer must be no as they have committed fraud. as far as being directors of a company they would, or should be, disqualified. If they were found to be not 'fit and proper' persons to own the club.

what then? sell the club? Maybe if they were relegated to League 2 then they might be affordable to multi millionaire somewhere. Would the EFL accept them as proven cheats and massive advantage over the other clubs in each division as they pass through. They have really created an impossible situation!

Wolves are reportedly interested in bringing in Max Dowman on loan from Arsenal, in January.

2

24 Sep 2026 08:28:35
Along with many others.

3

24 Sep 2026 11:03:09
OK guys, who makes way for 16-year old Max Dowman and others?
Cesar is getting a tune out of our existing squad and we are clearly improving match by match. Win our game in hand and we will be joint top. Not too shabby!

1

24 Sep 2026 12:12:04
Every time I have seen Max play he looks absolutely class. Mature beyond his years. I would welcome this. Not sure if his age would mean we wouldn't have to lose anyone but as I type that Neave is in the same boat age wise and I guess someone would have to make way.

I'm sure a couple may want to get out in Jan if they haven't had much minutes like Bouba for example.

2

24 Sep 2026 14:07:21
Best to have a contingency in place for a long term injury not just players leaving, still 16 matches to the turn around let alone 39 until may.

1

25 Sep 2026 05:35:40
I believe you would need to lose someone as under 21 loans are not viewed the same as under 21 permanent players.
Given it would be a mere half season loan with obviously no chance of buying him, unless he was so good that he dramatically altered the likely outcome of the season, I am not sure it would be worth having to lose a squad player - unless perhaps they could be sent on loan somewhere else - to merely develop a player for another side.

Hence the Neave deal is also a little weird. He is unlikely to play much - as a back up to Raul - so doing little for Wolves but takes a place in the squad.
Newcastle however gets to park him here saving money and see him hopefully develop at Wolves expense?

5

25 Sep 2026 11:19:38
There's no way we would get a shot at Max Dowman unless we could offer him guaranteed first team minutes. When we signed Jota in the championship in 2017/18 he came in for some rough treatment from opponents. Not sure if we are a good fit for Dowman as we are improving match by match. Can't do anything until January anyway.

2

06 Oct 2026 20:57:44
If we are looking for a wide player in January, then a loan deal for Ben Gannon-Doak from Bournemouth would be a brilliant deal for all parties. As a Scot, Inwant to see him getting more game time, which doesn't appear to be forthcoming at his present club.

0

22 Sep 2026 18:33:43
Ran wouldn't drop from top of prem to championship i dont think and wages are sky high now. as for the striker department i agree should of signed the lad who went for 4mil top scorer in league 1 last year cant remember his name now off the top of my head.

1

22 Sep 2026 19:07:52
Ballard? Lankshear would have been a good signing too, missed out on him and duberry who are both balling at boro.

3

22 Sep 2026 20:31:19
Thats 2 of em they would of been awsome.

1

23 Sep 2026 11:19:41
Some of us have good ideas about who we should have signed this summer. OK, fair enough, but please let us know who we should have let go to make room?

Currently we are three points off top with a game in hand, so we are not doing badly with the existing squad, which is clearly improving match by match. To outclass a decent West Brom team says it all.

5

23 Sep 2026 13:49:44
I totally agree wer doing well definitely but to win the league i think we could of done with another proven goalscorer if im honest.

2

24 Sep 2026 18:55:46
It's all about creating a squad that not only goes up but stays up.
You do that by signing excellent young players and having experience along the spine like Sa, Krejci, Andre and Raul.
I think the squad if they are consistent could push play offs.
But it is all about consistency.
Albion are a mid table to bottom half championship team so let's not lose our heads.

We still lack pace at RCB, LCB, a box to box midfielder and two wingers that are technically good and we quick.
Yes I am happy to see Gomes and Mane develop but would they be good enough for Prem hopefully. But probably not that's how tough the prem is.

0

25 Sep 2026 22:23:38
I always wonder what a box to box midfielder would look like, maybe like Andre? Or at a push munetsi? Both do work in both boxes.

0

26 Sep 2026 08:11:52
l just cant see why Munstsi starts instead on James all he does is run
we need another out and out goal scorer.
