Tolu Arokodare sat down, refused to leave the training pitch and demanded Wolves let him move to Fiorentina.

My Sheridan will sort him out, no problem. I'll send him to Compton in his silk pyjamas to guard the entrance.

2.) 23 Jul 2026 11:46:04
If Fiorentina are prepared to pay the market rate, let him go. He clearly doesn't want to be at the club.

3.) 23 Jul 2026 14:36:34
How much is "the market rate" for a £24m flop?

4.) 23 Jul 2026 15:13:49
£38.50.

5.) 23 Jul 2026 15:31:47
No idea, Ron, but if he's that bad, why does anyone want him.

22 Jul 2026 14:05:41
The exclusion of Tolu by Cesar Peixoto has been met with the approval of the wwfc squad.

The group feeling is that this will strengthen the spirit and allow for everyone to understand that there's a leader inside the club now - and no disrespect to authority will be allowed.

Transfers, as ever, are far too slow. Should have signed 5 by now, so they can play together in all matches before we start, not like last year, bringing them in after we started. Thought we would have learned by now, but apparently not. Very poor management.

2.) 22 Jul 2026 17:56:07
World Cup year is always slow. Top teams pick the best and then the merry go round starts. Take West Ham, they've signed 1 player for just over 1 million and Burnley have only just got a manager.
People need to take a breath.

If we have no more signings by close of the window, then complain.
We have signed 3 early signings. Gomez has just been sold.
I would expect something to happen next week on incoming.

3.) 22 Jul 2026 18:46:32
That's the way I see it, Camo.

There's a couple we have missed out on though:

Devine, Preston £6m
Lankshear, Middlesbrough £11.7m
Dobbins, Southampton £10.5m

I don't particularly rate Lankshear and Dobbins, but still important for squad depth.

4.) 22 Jul 2026 20:27:59
Don't need Dobbins. Wasn't there a donkey called Dobbins? Wolves have enough right wingers.

Tolu causing issues again, refused to leave the training field when he was asked to do so.

He's obviously toxic for the group, get him gone asap!

2.) 22 Jul 2026 07:48:56
According to the happy clappers, Tolu is a top player and should be starting every game. Build the team around him.

From day one, it was obvious he was lazy and had a **** attitude. An atrocious signing.

3.) 22 Jul 2026 08:55:42
Where have you seen that, Plaza? I have not seen any posts suggesting Tolu should be in the team. If I'm wrong, point me to those posts, please. And, what's a happy clapper? Is it someone who's been home & away for 50 years, but now finds it difficult to attend for whatever reason, maybe health or affordability...

I must be a happy clapper then, cus I only went home & away for over 50 years. Most of the grounds I've been on are supermarkets or houses now... Happy clapper ffs.

Wolves are apparently set to sign Standard Liege winger Rafiki Said for around €10m.

Rated RKO

1.) 10 Jul 2026 03:11:28
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. Finally making more moves.

2.) 10 Jul 2026 11:07:37
Said is apparently having a medical today. Looks promising. If no problems, will fly out with the team to start pre-season in Portugal.

3.) 10 Jul 2026 11:21:39
Don't know anything about him. Is he any good? Can he make the move from Belgium football to the Championship? We all thought Tolu was going to be a decent player after a good season in Belgium, but he wasn't.

Hopefully Rafiki will prove to be better suited to English football.

4.) 10 Jul 2026 13:28:06
Apparently Standard Liege can't believe their luck getting EUR10 m for a player rated EUR5 m at best. Said to be very inconsistent, hope he proves them wrong.

5.) 10 Jul 2026 14:04:12
Sadly, this is one that all we can do is take on board the comment so often made on this site - even in the face of overwhelming evidence that it is not deserved - "give him/Fosun/the club/etc etc a chance".
At 26, with no more than an adequate record in a very modest league, it is far from an exciting signing and, as many are saying, looks fully priced at best.

Surely there were far better value options out there, and certainly "safer" ones, but let's hope he outperforms what are pretty low expectations.

6.) 10 Jul 2026 14:58:49
If we haven't got players as good as him in the under 21s, why bother with an under 21 league? Reading about him, he seems very average. Got to be others in our lower divisions who can do the job without overpaying.

I know we are just a Championship side now, but surely we have to have some ambition. I fear a long, hard season is ahead.

7.) 10 Jul 2026 16:29:18
Last season, 8 goals and 4 assists, and he's got about a 1 in 4 career average, and he plays internationally for somewhere that I confess to never having heard of.

8.) 11 Jul 2026 06:44:51
Think of the new teams in World Cup.

9.) 11 Jul 2026 11:15:09
Fabio Silva looked better than he has playing anywhere (before or after) when he was at Anderlecht.

Wolves have retained their Category One Academy licence for the 2026/27 season.

It is subject to the completion of proposed additions to facilities and the club is expected to complete work on its £10m Academy expansion by summer 2027.

Rated RKO

1.) 28 Jul 2026 21:41:25
Seems like the club is just trying to get to the bare minimum here.

2.) 28 Jul 2026 21:44:30
This is good news, albeit we should never have been in this position in the first place.

28 Jul 2026 16:03:49
Some need to realise we're in the Championship now. Not many top players are going to come, we did well getting Trippier and Raul to Wolves.
Instead of moaning how about seeing if the rumoured signings happen first and then giving them a chance.

No I'm not happy with Fosun. I want them gone but end of the day in our situation player wise we're not going to attract top players that is the harsh reality and it's high time some started to see that.

Rated RKO

1.) 28 Jul 2026 16:48:02
I want Fosun gone. They're perpetual liars who think the average Wolves fans is an idiot with the memory of a goldfish.

Wolves might get promoted to the Premier League, but Fosun don't have the ability to keep the team there. They did to begin with - thanks to Mendes - but they don't anymore. If Wolves go up, they'll eventually drop back down again.

They don't have the ability to run a successful football club. A professional gambler and entrepreneur from Brighton knows how to run a football club. In 2016, both Wolves and Brighton were in the Championship. Ten years later, Brighton are light years ahead of Wolves. Look at what Brighton are planning for the Women's team.

Brighton FC - men's and women's team - are gone. Brighton is run by people with ambition and intelligence. Wolverhampton Wanderers is run by daydreamers. Jeff Shi with his record label! Good grief.

The youth systems category one status is under threat.

Many areas of the Molineux stadium have become desperately tired and disheveled.

The training facilities need a massive upgrade, especially if Fosun want to turn the Women's team into something more than a short distraction.

Fosun can't move Wolves forward. They can't move the women's team forward. They can't move the youth system forward.

Talk is cheap. Fosun are definitely cheap.

2.) 28 Jul 2026 17:18:32
Wolves will not go up and that is a certainty. Back to the dark old days, signing cheap average players who play a game, then get a season-defining injury.

3.) 29 Jul 2026 11:05:04
QS, I can't wait for your posts next May, moaning we'll be relegated straight back down when we do go up this season. I don't see much support coming from you, yet you claim to be a supporter.

22 Jul 2026 23:07:12
The fiasco continues.
Tolu himself has posted this.

I was very surprised and disappointed to see the media reports today, many of which are inaccurate.

Throughout my career, I have always taken great pride in conducting myself professionally and maintaining the highest training standards.
My commitment has always been to prepare myself as well as possible so that I can contribute to my teammates and the club whenever I am called upon.
I remain under contract with Wolves, and my only intention is to fulfil my responsibilities professionally by training, doing my job, and contributing to the team in accordance with that contract.

Rated RKO

1.) 23 Jul 2026 04:23:17.
Looks like something prepared by his lawyer to refute any suggestion he is in breach of his contract. Need to offload this player asap.

2.) 23 Jul 2026 15:21:01
So he sat in the centre circle refusing to move, dunno what he thought any of the coaching staff were going to do about his contract/transfer etc.
He's a puerile sort for a big man, and all he's achieved is a poor reputation.

Now he's less likely to get his move. Who'd want him? We could be lumbered with paying him off unless disciplinary action can get him out.

11 Jul 2026 03:12:22
Good job, potential signings probably don't read these forums, as why would they come when they've been written off before even kicking a ball?
Newsflash, we are not in the Premier League now so we are not going to attract top players.

Rated RKO

1.) 11 Jul 2026 09:03:25
We did attract top players last time we were in the Championship, and easily won the league.
Why can we not attract top players now?

2.) 11 Jul 2026 10:04:20
As Dmac123 commented earlier, WSD, if Fosun have not changed their self-sufficiency policy, we probably can't afford that class of player any more. That policy was not in place first time around, but if we do gain promotion it will likely be 'rinse and repeat,' as that approach has been the author of our demise, which many of us and football commentators predicted. I was prepared 'to give Fosun a chance' after the removal of Jeff Shi, but is it just going to be the same play but with different actors?

We hear new signings have 'bought into the project,' but what is that? It was the 10 years to greatness project that then became 20 years. Now it's the get promoted project, but what's after that, the bum around the bottom of the Premier League dodging relegation project?

It's also been mentioned that ground upgrades are back on the agenda, but again, if the costs are going to be dumped on the club then that will turn the financial screw even tighter.

Just a thought, would it be better to vacate the Molineux and offset the cost of a new stadium by selling the more valuable city centre site, a bit like what Shrewsbury Town did? I know that's not a popular approach, but is that restrictive site also constricting progress?

Like so many, I hope to be proven wrong, but whichever Shi we've got in charge, whichever players we buy, will it be 'groundhog day' on a continuous loop for this one reason? If so, we might as well forget a return to the glory days that were achieved before Fosun realised the true costs of maintaining that progress.

Before I get jumped on, it's not being negative to want the very best for your club, but I am frustrated that this approach is likely to continue. I once asked if Leopards change their spots, apparently they don't?

3.) 11 Jul 2026 10:08:18
When we won the Championship last time around, Fosun were still relatively unknown and their ambition seemed inspired. This time, any potential signing will have taken note of the last 5 years.

But, the likes of Raul and Trippier would not have signed if we were a club looking to stand still or move backwards, so hopefully the removal of Shi has freed the club from his shackles.

I'm going to ruffle some feathers here and one or two might consider calling the men in white coats for me but I think Hwang will do a ok job for us in the Championship.

Rated RKO

1.) 09 Jul 2026 16:57:10
Sorry, R KO, I suggest you stay out of the sun.

2.) 09 Jul 2026 17:09:53
I get where you're coming from, RKO, but Hwang is too often a passenger in games. Hwang has a good attitude, but as a player, he's a slightly better version of Tolu.

I've watched too many games where Hwang is playing and you forget he's on the pitch.

3.) 09 Jul 2026 17:23:53
It depends which Hwang we get. When he's confident he scores goals... Until he gets an injury. He could score 6 in 8 games, get a knock, and then do nothing for the other 38.

Tough to call, but I don't think you're definitely wrong there, Rated.

4.) 09 Jul 2026 17:45:05
You need to stay off the drugs Rated, the men in white coats are outside ?

5.) 09 Jul 2026 17:47:45
He has the potential to be decent at this level, but the fact that he's been as useful as a chocolate fireguard for the last 2 seasons cannot be overlooked.

6.) 09 Jul 2026 18:25:07
If the focus and desire is there, Rated, then you may well be right. I think there is ability there, and until pre season gets underway we won't know if our new manager can get anything out of him.

Hang on, there's a knock at the door.

7.) 09 Jul 2026 18:28:27
What will be, will be, with Hwang. If we can't sell him or give him away, let's give him a chance. The drop down a division might work out for him. He scored some good goals for us in the past.

8.) 09 Jul 2026 19:49:00
Acle summed it up perfectly for me, let's not forget here that a) Hwang has scored 10 Prem goals in a season, which is more than Armstrong has done, and b) his home nation calls him the Bull because of how hard he works! So Acle and Rated are absolutely bang on the money here.

Hwang could absolutely light the league up, or he could also spend the first half of the season being a passenger within the team. Personally I'd give him till Jan to see which version turns up this year. ?

9.) 09 Jul 2026 20:37:17
Excellent points made, Bully. I'm starting to warm to the idea of Hwang!

His ineffectiveness has not entirely been his fault. Wolves have stuck with a wretched five-at-the-back system for years, which possibly doesn't suit Hwang. Maybe Peixoto will get the best out of him.

One could look at Hwang as a Steve Bull-type of player who needs an Andy Mutch next to him. When he had Neto and Cunha alongside him, he was, albeit for a short while, very impressive.

Hwang does have a good attitude, and he does love Wolves. RKO could be right.

10.) 09 Jul 2026 22:53:22
Too early to start predicting line ups. Need a couple more weeks and to see how things pan out. Jake Gomes looks like he has no place to go at the moment and Leeds wanting Kryci is paper talk.

11.) 10 Jul 2026 08:00:59
Hwang is paid far too much to risk that he may gain some form. He has only had 1 good goalscoring season with us. He also goes down far too easily, which will get overlooked by refs in the Championship. We need to move on.

Deal agreed for Tolu Arokodare to join Ajax on loan, with a buy option of around £17million.

Dutch club will cover his full wages, and pay Wolves a loan fee plus further bonuses based on Ajax's qualification for European competitions.

Had to break that losing mentality, so although 1-0 isn't a good result, it breaks that no-win streak and hopefully we build from it. But Fosun need to pull their finger out, a gk is a priority and a box to box cm.
