Apparently Rui vitoria is now being considered for head coach. Won a couple of titles with Benfica a few years ago I think. Has a very similar feeling to the appointment of Vitor pereira in that he’s a little know coach and was also recently in Saudi so he’s been around a bit.
1.) 05 Nov 2025 21:00:08
Mendes client I think.
2.) 06 Nov 2025 10:27:08
Rui Vitoria is a client of Agency Idoloassis Futebol based in Lisbon and Oporto, Portugal.
No connection to Gestifute or Jorge Mendes.
3.) 06 Nov 2025 12:06:06
Thanks for clarification oap wulfrunian.
4.) 06 Nov 2025 12:58:36
Being touted as the ‘next Nuno’. Reminds me of the old car sales advert when the guy is shutting the car door and listening carefully before smiling at the potential buyers and saying “it sounds like a golf!” ?

Wolves head coach Vitor Pereira says striker Jorgen Strand Larsen "will stay with us" after sitting out the loss to Everton amid two rejected bids from Newcastle. BBC sport
1.) 31 Aug 2025 12:49:07
Still need a CB, x2 cms, x2 forwards.
Interesting the links with so many midfielders and forwards.
Still think we need pace in the forwards they didn't offer enough yesterday.
R Gomez was arguably the standout sub after Jackson couldn't get anything to stick 2nd half.
2.) 31 Aug 2025 13:19:00
Japhet Tanganga, no?
3.) 31 Aug 2025 14:07:08
We could buy Tanganga but he won't be able to play for us until next season so why bother.
Under specific FIFA regulations, a player can be registered with a maximum of three clubs in a single season but is only eligible to play in official matches for a maximum of two clubs.
4.) 31 Aug 2025 14:26:25
If Tanganga had been of interest we would have already signed him before Sheffield Utd. Personally I thought we should have got him particularly with the fee being an absolute bargain!
5.) 31 Aug 2025 14:51:13
Thought fer lopes was quality of the bench yesterday looking to link up the play and drive us forward
6.) 31 Aug 2025 15:07:21
Honestly I think just stay up with defence being Toti LCB Agbadou CB Krejci RCB
Then we can sign Japhet Tanganga in summer 2026. Probably around £10~£15 million. I think Sheffield United are going down, I watched Tanganga yesterday, best man on the pitch.
Japhet Tanganga to Wolverhampton Wanderers
£12 million
Sometime next summer
Sheffield Utd relegated
He wants to leave
Done deal!
7.) 31 Aug 2025 16:36:23
No way should Toti be near the starting 11.
8.) 31 Aug 2025 17:16:46
Why would you want a defender relegated to league 1?
Sounds daft to me.
9.) 31 Aug 2025 17:17:40
As Ken points out above Wolves clearly have no interest in Tanganga as he could have been purchased at any time over the summer for peanuts.
Whilst I accept that if he has a blindingly good season Wolves may change their minds but I would imagine that it is unlikely that they will purchase him any time soon for 10x the amount he could have been acquired for this summer.
10.) 31 Aug 2025 17:29:13
Madman I don't disagree.
The defence looks v concerning - what has happened to Emmanuel.
Andre and Gomes are struggling and surely need a back up/alternative.
But perhaps the greatest need is a goal scoring 9/10.
Maybe changing to a 3, 4, 1, 2 formation will help as Arias - who is supposed to be carrying the team in his role as Cunha's replacement - looks lost out wide but might be better behind 2 forwards?.
11.) 31 Aug 2025 18:13:23
So which centre back do we sign? Krejci~ not good enough
Nobody is good enough at this club
So yes, tell me who we should sign ahead of Japhet Tanganga.?
12.) 31 Aug 2025 18:41:07
I can only hope that you are very very wrong as Wolves are paying 20x the fee that would have obtained Tangnaga for Krejci.
If you have read the board over the summer you will see I have also been proposing Tanganga all summer. For the fee, and home grown, he was in my view a "no brainer" but the club clearly disagrees with us both.
Having made that call though it would be a massive embarrassment to then pay 10x+ the fee they could have for the player a few months later so sadly I just can't see it happening!
With respect to your q though finding a cb better than those the club currently has should not be difficult. The pool currently consists of S Bueno - no where near good enough, Doherty - beaten by father time, Yerson, permanently injured, Toti - v v modest and needs hand holding, Krejci yet to play a game in the Prem and Emanuel who has seemingly lost his way!
Far from a satisfactory position!
13.) 31 Aug 2025 19:06:53
Personally I would have signed Veiga for around £26m but he has gone to Spain. Yes for weeks he was quoted at £35m but ended up going to Almeria for £26m. However he has a really poor attitude to training. Which may be the reason Wolves avoided it.
I think Disasi (linked with every club) and Lloyd Kelly wouldn't be bad options we need competition for cb and RCB. I have nothing against Krejci think he will develop the next few months and it is a strength having two left footed cbs.
My comment regarding Tanganga was why would we sign a cb that is relegated to league 1? We should be aiming to move higher up the league.
TFIOG really not sure on Emmanuel? Strange how it has dropped off so much hopelly Vitor can get it right with the team during the break.
The midfield is interesting I think both are the target of the opposition press so we need forwards to move and offer outlets for Sa and the defence to play long. Or Arias and Marshall need to come short so the defence can go over the first press by the opposition.
Absolutely we need someone like Yuri Alberto. Hopefully Tolu is a similar player to Aghehowa in that he is strong and a complete forward offering a different solution to what we have. I still think we need pace as that could be an outlet for a long ball out of defence.
In terms of the formation it's not so much a concern for me I think we just need a little bit of time to develop the connections between the different players I'm sure they will come good.
A CB, CM and forward would be ideal though.
14.) 31 Aug 2025 19:17:31
Toti and Hwang are liabilities, they just aren't good enough for this league.
How Toti got the armband is beyond me'its unbelievable if I'm honest.
The leadership in that squad must be paper thin if he's the most commanding one there.
I can only think the reason Gomes hasn't taken it is because he's always on the edge of getting sent off due to how he plays the game.
15.) 31 Aug 2025 19:38:04
Madman - completely agree re Veiga.
I have been told on here that apparently the fee is low as Chelsea retain significant interest/control in/over the player?
16.) 31 Aug 2025 21:16:42
But veiga is at Juventus. Next year Tanganga. Right the future is gold?
17.) 31 Aug 2025 22:07:57
But Tanganga isn't ready to play week in week out in the prem similar to Djiga (who has played CL by the way).
Djiga and Tanganga wouldn't be good enough over a season. I have doubts over Mosquera as well.
CB required urgently to provide cover for RCB or CB.
18.) 01 Sep 2025 01:59:26
Free agent CB cover Jason Denayer
Ex Celtic Lyon man city player
Belgium international
Superb player! And then Tanganga next summer!
19.) 01 Sep 2025 02:08:00
What about Takehiro Tomiyasu?
He’s free!
28 Aug 2025 11:04:10
Kredcji is in
1.) 28 Aug 2025 11:31:55
Czech mate!
2.) 28 Aug 2025 11:59:04
Larsen has now told Wolves he wants to leave. Shi has said no.
3.) 28 Aug 2025 15:32:22

Thought we were quite good today, they’ve gone 3rd I think and it took a worldie to score and a couple of worldie saves plus a dodgy ish var decision to stop us scoring, however once we went behind we lost all creativity as per usual.
1.) 30 Nov 2025 16:24:36
Yes much better today. Martinez really saved The Vile today. Arias though simply not good enough. Cuhna's replacement? Not a chance. He's light years away from Cuhna's ability.
Chirewa ( I guess he's keen and certainly puts himself about), but needless fouls.
We do need to be a lot more aggressive going forward though. Too many times we broke and then looked to pass sideways then backwards again. Obviously frustrated that we lost, but pleased with the players response.
2.) 30 Nov 2025 16:37:34
Arias is actually worse than hwang.poor guy.let him go back to brazil.whybthe hell keep him on till 88min when we need a goal.question the subs today.looks like wer havin a look at the squad ready for nxt ssn in the championship.can see us setting all kind of records thatl never be broken.including not winning a single game.in which will be over a full ssn
3.) 30 Nov 2025 18:00:17
Not to mention there was a foul on Gomes in build up to their goal and at the time of them scoring we was down to 10 men temporaly.
Much better performance seemed to be a togetherness, I think was it Totti who said "things used to get brushed under the carpet but all that is sorted now"
Which indicates Vitor may have been toxic.
4.) 01 Dec 2025 05:34:14
Rated, agree I thought the the way we played yesterday was better.
My take on recent events is:
1. Pereria submits transfer "wish list"
2. Shi let's Hobbs go and re-structures with himself Head of Football
3. He procrastinates over targets, many then missed
4. Summer pre-season poor, results were dreadful, no new signings.
5. Manager frustrated, then panic buys, which the manager is not happy about.
6. Effectively our preseason is the first few games of the season as Pereria trys to find best player options.
7. Pereria (like those before) has enough of Shi and it felt like he went on strike to engineer his exit (no credit to him)
8. Shi delays too long before sacking him and now we are nailed on for relegation.
I just find it difficult to understand Fosun leaving Shi insitu.
22 Nov 2025 16:38:27
Jhon arias might be the worst player to set foot on a football pitch
1.) 22 Nov 2025 16:49:38
He's getting paid for this
2.) 22 Nov 2025 16:53:48
Feeling a bit sick thinking of championship football now
3.) 22 Nov 2025 17:03:38
Yeah because those 15 mins once we'd already completely given two goals away is what REALLY cost us the game?! He probs should have scored but Larsen should be screaming for him to leave it and that CLEARLY didn't happen!
06 Oct 2025 18:13:02
On the contrary to a lot of things I've seen on hear, and people mate feel free to disagree, but I am not particularly worried about relaxation. Last year it took us very long to get a win as well, and we've almost got two this year, against quality sides. I completely back vitro who was very good when he came in last year. Also, our fir at five games we were shocking, but in going to a back 4 I think vitro has worked it out. Having watched both of our previous two games, I thought we were very good defensively. Brighton barely had a chance apart from their goal, same goes for spurs. Also yeasterday it could very easily have been 3-0 with jsl hitting the post and arias skying from 6 yards. The next 3 games will be very telling, but we have seemed very defensively sound in our last two, but it's just a great strike and one lapse in concentration defensively that have undone us. I do think we'll survive though definitely.
1.) 06 Oct 2025 18:41:37
Sorry about the shameful spelling, it’s been a long day guys.
2.) 06 Oct 2025 19:10:14
Think you are correct llkleywolves, next 3 in league should shape our immediate future at least. Lose all 3 and I think VP should go, I hope, we can achieve a reasonable points tally, 4 and above VP remains. He may well remain anyway, who knows what Jeff will do. I take your point as well Long, away we do seem a bit better, we will need to be v Sunderland, against Villa they looked very aggressive and pretty decent.
As we all know very frustrating supporting our team these days, we all hope for the best, all summer we could see the problems building.
3.) 07 Oct 2025 10:14:34
Many fans on here think that VP should be sacked, but they don't suggest alternatives. I wonder why not?
So you sack VP and get a new guy in. After a few games you might be calling for his head as well. That's madness.
Postecoglou might be available, which shows the madness at where Forest find themselves.
4.) 07 Oct 2025 11:47:01
Edin Terzic or Thiago Motta, if either fancy rebuilding their reputation.
5.) 07 Oct 2025 12:14:37
Personally I like VP and with time he may well be ok but we all know that's a luxury he doesn't have. It's not like we're up the top end of the table losing to a couple of lower teams, unexpectedly.
5 managers/coaches in 5 years since Nuno and if it did become 6 isn't a great record either. The fans will usually support the Manager but if the points aren't forthcoming decisions will be made irrespective, there's too much at stake for the owners.
6.) 07 Oct 2025 12:45:38
Deep - totally understand your viewpoint and I have no obvious answers - obviously!
Long completely agree.
Losing Nuno was insanity and the club is still reeling from that massive error by Jeff!
Astonishing that Forest seems to have done exactly the same. What part of winning don't owners like!
7.) 07 Oct 2025 13:16:49
Was Nuno sacked by Jeff Shi or did he leave by Mutual agreement?
One suggests that Nuno was fired for poor performances whereas the other suggest that he and the club had agreed to part ways. Is there a difference?
If it was a Mutual agreement, shouldn't Nuno also be blamed as well as Jeff?
If Jeff sacked him, then 100% Jeffs fault.
I only ask because according to reports, Nuno has only been sacked by Spurs and Forest.
8.) 07 Oct 2025 15:50:06
Wandering -I used the word "losing" not sacked as the communication from the club was indeed "mutual agreement".
Not sure that if any employee wishes to leave a company it is the employees fault though?
Why did he want to leave?
Why couldn't Jeff keep him?
Why did you leave your various employers - assuming you did of course!
Normally people leave for career development, more money or dissatisfaction of some sort with their employer.
Jeff was told publicly what Nuno wanted - which as it turned out was exactly what Wolves needed - and he totally and utterly incorrectly told him that he wasn't going to get it.
Unsurprisingly any employee who knows that he is far far more qualified to do a job than his idiot manager will become unhappy.
The total collapse of every aspect of the business post Jeff's error will be of no satisfaction to Nuno who seems to be a genuinely decent chap.
I leave you to compare that to the general perception of Jeff!
9.) 07 Oct 2025 17:14:24
I heard a rumour that Jeff had nothing to do with Nuno leaving and it was Guo's decision.
10.) 07 Oct 2025 17:42:38
To be fair to Jeff he is an employee of Fosun so I guess everything he does/is involved with is eventually Guo's decision.
Still doesn't make it any better of a decision though.
Actually from Jeff's perspective though it is a huge distinction.
If an employee destroys a business costing the owner £100s of millions of pounds it is probably not going to end well for them. But if the owner is directly responsible themselves it is harder to blame an employee.
05 Oct 2025 20:01:32
Probably stating the obvious but obtaining 6 if not 9 points from our next 3 games becomes huge.
10 Sep 2025 08:11:51
94th minute Larsen winner on Saturday in front of all the geordies.
1.) 10 Sep 2025 10:05:18
Well as someone once said….”Dreaming is for free” ?
2.) 10 Sep 2025 10:23:35
JSL is due a goal as he hasn’t scored in the Premier League since 20 May in the 2-4 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Let’s get behind him and see what happens.
First The Points
3.) 10 Sep 2025 10:41:04
And we are due a win as we haven’t won in the prem since the famous 6 in a row.
4.) 10 Sep 2025 12:02:12
Does anyone know if JSL has recovered from his injury? Happy the soppy international break is over, hope time on training has helped us look more like a team ?
22 Nov 2025 16:38:45
I hope he has
27 Oct 2025 17:46:04
Don’t know a lot about him but isn’t he in debt and didn’t Lyon nearly get relegated last year because of failure to pay transfer fees or something or other like that?
12 Oct 2025 18:37:25
I didn’t think mercado was a free agent?
01 Oct 2025 17:34:22
Think having an English goalie helps massively with communication and I don’t see any reason to job Johnstone who was class on Saturday.
01 Sep 2025 10:26:36
Get 150 million out of them
23 Nov 2025 17:57:19
Possibly a lack of physicality banksy, but I think Lopez is the only player in the team that can link play up and deserves a run in the XI.
09 Nov 2025 15:24:46
Don’t get why everyone was so desperate to keep jsl and now want rid of him. He’s had an injury and gets no service. He would have scored both of tolus efl cup goals. I’m all for tolu but not sure he’s better than strand Larsen, who scored 14 goals last season.
08 Nov 2025 21:51:36
I know he really went for the celebration it almost get like he’s won the fa cup in the last minute
18 Oct 2025 10:59:17
1-2 win with a jsl double
06 Oct 2025 18:43:06
Hwang wasn’t our best player yesterday, but he wasn’t really bad. I would probably rather see fer Lopez or Rodrigo but hwang is our best finisher and didn’t look a mile out of place yesterday.
