So the bbc are saying we have signed guedes, but nothing on the wolves page. Guess they give everyone Sunday off. I’m please we have signed someone else at least, guess that can put a few worries to bed.

All agreed Goatmark, he's flying in tomorrow for medical and to sign. May be announced tomorrow as well.

2.) 08 Aug 2022 03:05:06
Guedes coming in, is a good signing but heard Neto to arsenal which is a bad move I think he's quality and needs to stay. any thoughts on wether that's true

3.) 08 Aug 2022 06:36:46
Doubt that will happen Christopher Lage wants more then one top player for each position. More likely MGW will go to fund Nunes.

4.) 08 Aug 2022 11:35:02
Will Bruno loose the dressing room letting Coady go, I think it’s a bad move. He’s more than a player he’s a leader.

5.) 08 Aug 2022 19:59:55
Last season and the season before was dire.
Lage will live by the sword or die by the sword
He’s trying to put his stamp on the team and god bless him for that.
If you thought we would survive with the same tactics as last season nooo way.
Guedes for Coady
Collins for Saiss
Nunes for MGW
You choose and debate

6.) 09 Aug 2022 01:46:01
We need a different identity, the football was stale towards the end of last season and it's good he's putting a stamp on things and he hasn't lost the dressing room you can see how the players played very well for most parts considering the lack of depth.
Lage needs time and I think he will get it, not easy clearing out the crap, bringing in new faces, whilst changing to a new formation and tactics. Have a little patience least we can all agree on thing we will finish above crappy man utd?

Looking forward to the game on Tuesday mainly due to having a ticket. Some benefits to being in the champ and being based in London. Normally can’t get an away ticket. Glad to see some of the other London games are midweek also.

A bit nervous as West Ham will be after their first win but they have sold a lot of talent so might take them time to get going.

Goatmark1

1.) 29 Aug 2026 21:08:17
I reckon we'll beat West Ham 2-1 with Jiminez getting a brace and Nuno getting the sack.

2.) 29 Aug 2026 21:20:39
Also, had no trouble getting a ticket for the game.
Sincerely, hope Wolves don't sell Krejci to them, as it would massively strengthen them instead of him replacing Toti and massively strengthening Wolves.
A win, and the gap to West Ham, most people's favourites to win the league, starts to look sustainably substantial!
Get Trippier back, Krejci in, and James starting, and the side really does seem quite impressive for this level.

Still worried re depth.

3.) 29 Aug 2026 21:39:22
We were worried when we sold Kilman to them. Look how that turned out lol.

4.) 29 Aug 2026 21:57:27
If West Ham are happy to pay £30 million for Krejci, Wolves should let him go. Wolves won't let him go cheap. Nuno obviously doesn't want Kilman at LCB.

It will leave Wolves weak on the left, so unless Mosquera is being earmarked for that position, a replacement will be needed.

Apparently Santi Bueno might be staying, but Wolves will then be too heavy on the right, unless Mosquera will be playing LCB.

Wolves still need a right winger and cover for Jimenez. Armstrong is better playing off Jimenez.

Surely a midfielder will be going. Wolves are stacked in that area, especially if a winger comes in and Mane plays more centrally.

5.) 29 Aug 2026 22:13:37
I realise every player at a non big 6 side has to have a price, but it will be hard, if not impossible, to find an adequate, let alone good - or in fact even in the same post code as Krejci - replacement at such short notice.
So, unless the fee is essential for the club's survival, I would be unhappy at selling one of your best 3 or 4 players, especially to a rival, and hugely weakening the side.

Promotion is worth far, far more than any gains from selling Krejci, and, as we have all seen, the left side of the defence is probably the most pressing area for improvement - Krejci does that!

Anyone watching the game on Wolves TV? I can’t seem to get mine working. Just wanted to check if anyone else is having problems?

No doubt I will get accused on being a Fosun fan for this post as it would seem my opinion differs from some other posts again.

Anyway, as far as I can tell I don’t think the claim that Angel is on 400k a month is true. Now I’m not an internet expert and I simply put in Wolves player salaries. But what I looked at says he’s on 35k a week, roughly 12th highest in the squad. Joao is top earner on 105k a week.

What did surprise me was Toti being second on 80k a week, I can only assume it’s so high because he was signed back when we were paying players a lot more. Signs that in fact whoever is in charge of such things may have learnt a lesson and now we don’t pay so much.

And I guess that’s where some people will think I’m pro Fosun, because I pointed out they may have learnt a lesson. If that’s all it takes then I guess I am.

1.) 03 Apr 2026 21:48:12
Goat, the claim that he is on £400k a month is lifted, albeit multiple times, from one particular site, and I think is fairly clearly flawed.
It is reported on some other sites that he is on Euro 400k a month, a fair bit different.
However, on most sites it does, as you suggest, say he is on £35k a week, but with a bonus of some £455k at the end of his contract (5 months!) with Wolves.
Even grossing this up to an annual bonus, you still get nowhere near Euro 400k a month, let alone £400k a month.
Sadly, the internet is far from gospel or even consistent, and I don't think you need to be in any way reticent in pointing this out!
Ps, Toti is indeed a weird one - a player who, frankly, won't be too good for the division he will be playing in next year, and indeed may only be a modest player at that level.

Massively over-paid if he is indeed paid £80k per week!
Pps, however, the current low salaries paid to the squad - which militates against the huge wage bill in the accounts by the way, but that is a different issue I have with Fosun! - are, though, not without cost/consequences.
I'm far from certain that replacing some of the best players in the league - on commensurately high salaries - with the massively sub standard players on low salaries, leading to the club plummeting down and out of the league, is learning a lesson.
It is, however, simply a financial necessity as a result of Jeff's financial policies, which aren't necessarily aligned to the interests of the football team - but that is another issue altogether I have with Fosun!

The article was from Sport Witness, so best to disregard anything from them.
Someone even mocked them once with a Sport Witless X page and website.

Would it be better for us to send out the players that want away on loan instead of selling them cheap? It might increase their value and would give certain players a chance to improve so they get in their respective international teams. Then we could potentially bring them back next season or loan them out for another season till we are back in the prem, risky and optimistic I know but worth a thought maybe? Seems a bit crazy just to get rid as some of them are good players with high potential but currently on a bad run of form.

Any thoughts on this suggestion?

Goatmark1

1.) 29 Dec 2025 09:24:57
The problem you have goat is they do not want to be here full stop, regardless of what division we are in, Larsen, j Gomes, Andre, arias, Lopez and Sa all want out. Personally I would get what we can for them in January and get players in who A- want to be here and B- will do a job in the championship next season.

There is no guarantee we will come straight back up either, in fact it’s a lot more likely we won’t

2.) 29 Dec 2025 11:29:21
Have these players said they don’t want to be here? I haven’t seen anything about that, seems strange that Larsen signed a new contract but doesn't want to be here and same with the new signings, why did they sign if they don’t want to be here? Or is this just speculation?

3.) 29 Dec 2025 12:26:39
Job security and guaranteed wages Goatmark?.
Seriously I can't see them dedicated to us and wanting to play championship football, so let them go for the appropriate fee.

4.) 29 Dec 2025 12:27:49
I used to work at the club goat, a few years ago now but still have friends that work there and I can say 100 percent that I know at least 3 players have told the club they want out in January, who they are I don’t know that, but I would say it’s three of the people I said above but can see all of them going.

It’s obvious certain players do not want to be here you don’t have to have “insider” knowledge to see that.
Just look at the body language of Larsen, arias for example, they may as well be running around with for sale signs on their shirts

5.) 29 Dec 2025 15:23:38
In that case let’s hang on to them but loan them out to teams other than those in the Prem. Great idea Goatmark1.
If they can’t be ar**d why should Wolves?

6.) 29 Dec 2025 19:45:11
Fair enough Dwwg, I can see it being the two Brazilians as they prob want to be playing for their country, I’d hope the new signings would give it more time but equally they might see staying as too damaging. Going to be an interesting transfer window.

Not sure who this goatmark2 is but it’s not me in case anyone wondered. First a fake jas account now someone pretending to be me. Don’t even know why it’s not like I post that often. All a little sad tbh and not really sure what the aim of it is. Perhaps the Ed’s can look in to it and try ban the person, although that’s probably easier said than done.

1.) 23 Oct 2025 21:54:43
Didn’t realise there were a few posts from that goatmark2 account, making me sound like a fool, doc up front indeed. Whoever you are I don’t need help to sound like a fool but thanks. Needless to say those posts do not reflect my opinion.
If the person who wrote those comments is reading this, stop being such a pathetic loser. People have more important things to worry about than some idiot pretending to be them on a football forum. It’s not funny and I pity you that this is how you gets your kicks. Weirdly I would like to know what happened to you to make you do something like this, such strange behaviour.

2.) 23 Oct 2025 18:33:49
Yeah mate it's easy to spot those fake accounts by their grammar.

It also appears we didn't seem interested in selling Mane. According to what I've just read, we could have sold him if we wanted to. Is that a sign the club are trying to keep some of our assets?

I know we didn't get many new faces in, but as someone pointed out, with the likes of Lopez back and looking good, we have got some newish players making the first team.

Also, keeping Krejic is positive; if we get the defence right, we could do well this season.

Presumably in the last game, which is why he came off and had his head in his hands, not because he was in despair over joining us after all.

Does make you question the training methods, with so many injuries so early in the season.

I'm sure some people said he was rolling around for no reason. Maybe a case of the boy who cried wolf, as he does seem to go down a fair bit. Hope it's a fast recovery, as I rate him, even though he's a bit of a hot head.

Wayne Bridge is a little different. Didn't John Terry sleep with his misses, causing a bit of a rift in the squad?

Keeping some of our better players was good considering a lot of people thought they would be gone. Not too much disruption in the team still gives us the slimmest of chances. I think the loans out were a good idea, both to help keep value (Munetsi) and get experience (Lopez). Also nice to see some players with prem experience and homegrown come in.

Surprised more people haven’t said anything regarding that seeing as it was a big gripe. Haven’t heard any guff either, other than Adam’s not getting over the line but that seems to be due to Torino not finding a replacement.

I didn't see the game, as I'm in France playing cricket, but judging from the stats I see we had 16 shots to their 6. So, sounds like we did ok. Admittedly, stats don't tell the whole tale, so will have to take what people say.

Although hard to judge when some people say 9 shots second half compared to 4. Who knows what to believe. ?

I didn't miss anything, perhaps you need to read the threads again. The whole point was Ron Moore was saying we would be 8 points behind first by the next time we play. This then turned into a rant about how we are dropping down and down.

I disputed that it would be 8, as no one knows what might happen. And, as proven, it is only 6 points, so win our games and we will be level on points.

I didn't say they were anti Fosun, I was questioning if the reason for making false statements was because of an anti Fosun agenda. And asking that question doesn't make me pro Fosun. I was glad to hear there is talk of them selling. I just don't see the point making stuff up to make it seem like we are in a worse state than we are, is it not already bad enough without the added fear mongery?
Personally I think the club did quite well in the recent window.

Keeping many of the players that according to some posters were definitely going to leave. Like the young talent of R Gomes, H Bueno, Mane and Lopez who were all tipped to leave. While also getting rid of player many people said weren't good enough, like other Bueno, Hwang, Wolfe and the two keepers. Does it make up for past mistakes, probably not but at least it's a sign that maybe the club has learnt something.
