RB Leipzig was interested in signing Fábio Silva and had reached an agreement with the player. However, they withdrew from the transfer due to Wolverhampton Wanderers' transfer fee demand of up to 30 million euros.

Makes sense as well because they probably realize now that we are going down and spending lots in January would be to much of a gamble for them. To be honest I don't think they could attract good enough players even if they was willing to spend a lot.
Loaning players make more sense as the players themselves know they aren't going to be there long and they will be playing. Fosun will see it as something that isn't costing them much and its a safer gamble if there is any very small chance of survival.

16 of those players were with us during the Nuno era. I am just stating that we have gotten weaker every season since. We have had a few good players here and there but the owners direction has completely changed.

Nuno days players and a few just after Nuno would piss over this team.
Look at the players that we have had and now look. There are only probably 5 players of the current team who I would add to that list of good players. Andre, Gomes, R.Gomes, Larson, Yerson

the thing with a press is you have to get it right otherwise you are left short. I have noticed a few times some players press and others don't or the timing is slightly off. When this happens the other team will just go right through you. I think we really to focus on defence as it is awful. Aa lot of it is organisation and being aware of players making runs. Especially the target men.

I had a slice of humble pie on Friday night. Very good performance from both Andre and Gomes. Yes, I think once we go down and they both leave, I will probably have a slightly different view.

100% would have taken Sam. It wouldn't have been pretty to watch, but from what I have seen this season hasn't been. The guy has got the experience and knows what it takes to try and survive. I believe he would have saved us if they got him in. He would have us set up so we are hard to beat, and then try and nick a goal here and there. He would have loved it prior to Larson leaving, having 2 big blokes up top. Edwards was the wrong choice, as the guy got Luton relegated 2 times and then got given a lifeline at Middlesborough.
Yes, he was doing well, but they did start underperforming, and some fans said they got lucky. This is a poor side he has taken on, but I 100% believe Sam or a better coach than Edwards would have saved us. The guy is starting to sound like a broken record, as all I hear is that we are improving, but we clearly are not.

Probably going to get slated here, but just an opinion. I don't rate Gomes or Andre. Yes, we have average/below average players around them, but all I see are 2 players who just try to break up play. I have seen Gomes go on a few little runs here and there, but most of the time it is sideways and backwards passing.
They offer zero attacking threat and have poor passing ability. I guess after being spoilt with having the likes of Neves and Moutinho, it was always going to be difficult to fulfil those positions with the same quality.

It wasn't an exciting transfer window but it wasn't a bad one. Fosun aren't going to spend a lot when we are basically relegated. Letting Larson go for 48m is good business. Signing Armstrong who is championship proven and a different type of forward to Tolu is a good move. I can't comment on Gomes as never seen him play but I believe he is an attacking midfielder which we have been crying out for.
We have Bellegarde who has just come back who was probably our best attacking player until the injury. Summer is going to be very busy and important if they want to bounce back up. We need to bounce back up otherwise if you don't first time around you can be stuck there for a long time.

We just do not have any real quality in the team. We have scraped by with having a few quality players the past seasons but now we do not we are rock bottom. I thought the attitude and effort by some players yesterday was a disgrace. Andre in particular who cost us the 1st goal was just jogging back most of the time. Only positive performances was Agbadou and Bellegarde plus Lopez I thought brought more positive play. Rob Edwards has 0 chance to get anything from this group because he isn't good enough.
We should have gone for Allardyce as he would have set us up to be harder to beat. There has been no mangerial bounce so it will only get worse. Is there any point spending in January and who would even want to come. Only thing we can hope for is that we are able to keep some of the players like R.Gomes and possibly Lopez. Might be able to convince some that are worth it to stay if the club is seen to actually care and want to get back to premier league.
