Just read an article linking us with free agent Kasper Schmeichel. If Sa moves to Saudi as it's also been rumoured this would be a nice move.

Only way it could make sense is if Schmeichel was signed as third-choice back-up keeper with a view to him becoming goalkeeper-coach eventually.

Would be happy with Schmeichel as an upgraded replacement for Bentley but not as a replacement for Sa. Tom Kings got a new 3 year contract so he's not going anywhere anytime soon.

GDawg14 Mckennie looked good for USA in the world cup but how many MF do we need but he would be an upgrade. If we sell Nunes in the summer I'd definitely go for Mckennie as I see it Neves Mountihno and may be Nunes might all leave so could have some cash to spend.

Not sure about the Isco one GDawg because if Gomes does join that would be 7 signings plus Wolves allegedly still want a RB and a striker, making it potentially 9.
I know that JL will be looking to start the rebuild early in preparation for those leaving in the summer but these must represent a big increase in the wage bill let alone the amortised transfer fees added to the bottom line. Maybe it's an indicator of how many will be leaving in the summer. I'm guessing Neves, Mouts, Adama, Jonny, Raul, Costa and possibly Guedes and Hoever.
McKennie is a good player, but probably linked to Villa due to their US owners.

Romano suggesting we might still be in the running for Aaron Wan-Bissaka as they have an interest in a Celtic RB despite his recent form.
I'd be happy with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Semedo competing for RB. Kilman, Collins and Souttar competing for CB and Bueno and Rayan competing for LB. Knowing Toti, Dexter, Yerson and Dion are developing.
Then we can sell Jonny and move Ki-Jana along.
That's my defensive best case scenario.

GDawg - good post. Would require a fair bit in fees to be paid and I would guess AWB will be on big money but Otto and Hoever being moved on may balance out to some extent - well probably only on wages as I doubt we would get anything for either of our two departees.
ps think Bolla def has a future as well and Giles and maybe even Marques shouldn't be written off.

I'd forgotten about Bolla and Marques. I was going to add Giles but looks like Boro use him more of a midfielder now than a defender.
The academy looks healthy in defence too with Matheson, Tipton, Pond, Richards so something could come good out of there in the coming years. We need homegrown players in the squad.
I quite liked the look of Ivan Fresneda we were linked to but I think that was purely in the clickbaits.

I see Wolves have lost another academy player to a Premier League Club, this time Spurs. The academy system is not really fit for purpose, is it?
We steal from smaller clubs and bigger clubs steal from us. I just don't get it really.

Completely correct.
It does make you wonder why teams bother.
Find and develop a good player - it doesn't even have to be a great player, just a good one - and one of the teams above you in the pyramid simply takes them with minimal or zero recompense.
As you, to be fair, state, it is pretty much what Wolves did with Mane and Rochdale.
However, as Wolves drop further and further down the pecking order, they are more and more likely to be the loser from these transactions rather than the winner.
Guess the secret is to be a big team!
Wolves blew that, unfortunately, post Seville, and, as you are seeing, it just gets harder to compete the further you fall behind.

Whilst I really want us to keep Hugo Bueno, I do feel like we are potentially holding him back from a more glittering career...
Bueno and Moller Wolfe, for Giles and Amass, would feel to me like potentially be sensible business.

Some of those hardly even played for us, and I'd still put Hoever right near the bottom! Liverpool played an absolute blinder, convincing us he was worth £12m when Jota was worth £40m, meaning we essentially sold them Jota for the bargain price of £28m!
Good luck to Hoever, but good riddance as well.
Too many managers have complained about his attitude for there not to be something in it. For me, De Wolf has to be top of that list; what a technically gifted player he was! La Parra would also be quite high up, he blew hot and cold but on his day would skip past players for fun. ??

Yeah, it's not a strong list, is it, other than those two. Rajiv Van La Parra was probably right for us at the time, and he played for SC Heerenveen for a while afterwards. I always liked their jersey. Like a modern interpretation of Alice in Wonderland, Queen of Hearts.
But instead of croquet, they play football.
De Wolf is a legend, but the others are a bit pants for us, aren't they. I remember Ola John being great on FIFA, and jury's out on what career Lonwijk will forge. But the others, I cannot remember really doing anything in the old Gold.
