Hearing that JSL has thrown his toys out of the pram. Clearly doesn't want to be here anymore.

Oxleymoorwolf

1.) 30 Aug 2025 12:32:33
I suggested this yesterday and a few people thought I was being daft. Full expect him to dig his heels in and move. It seems to be the custom now.

2.) 30 Aug 2025 12:35:29
What's he done to suggest he's thrown his toys out of the pram? Feigned injury? Or something else

3.) 30 Aug 2025 13:18:22
Or perhaps VP is choosing not to play him because there is the possibility of further incoming which will depend on sale of JSL.

4.) 30 Aug 2025 13:43:42
Several good sources are adamant he's staying and that his absence against everton is due to a genuine achilles injury. Doesn't seem like the type to be disrespectful at all, and whilst David Ornstein suggested he asked to leave, no reports whatsoever have suggested he's been disrespectful

5.) 30 Aug 2025 14:10:29
Would be criminal to sell now tbf.

6.) 30 Aug 2025 14:34:49
He is injured, but if he has thrown his toys out then he'll be treated how we treat Nunes and Cunha, if he hasn't a few owe him a apology.

7.) 30 Aug 2025 14:39:09
Word is Jorgen will be at the ground today supporting the team. Doesn't sound like someone who's going anywhere!

8.) 30 Aug 2025 16:58:09
Don't blame Larsen for wanting to leave after that shower of rubbish. We are gash. Relying on three worse teams.

9.) 30 Aug 2025 17:23:48
I agree with all 3 of your points tg.
Are there 3 worse teams though? I hope so but I’m not convinced. This season could be an embarrassment.

10.) 30 Aug 2025 17:54:53
Us and West Ham poorest by far in the opening weeks. Don't see a squad capable of staying up atm, lost top quality and trusted players miles off it. I'd drop Agbadou, Toti and Munetsi for the next game.

29 Aug 2025 11:47:39
Still no news on Tolu Arokodare medical does anyone have a genuine update on progress of transfer?

Oxleymoorwolf

23 Aug 2025 13:25:38
Hearing Wolves are bulking at paying the fee in the release clause for Ladislav Krejci. They are now offering less having initially agreed. Girona obviously unhappy so are backing away, the player is now back in the squad to play tomorrow having originally been left out.

Oxleymoorwolf

1.) 23 Aug 2025 14:23:31
What a surprise
Jeff shi strikes again

2.) 23 Aug 2025 14:24:57
Can’t say I am that surprised Oxley seems to be the Wolves way, unfortunately. Thought he was a good player that would provide additional cover for midfield. Probably go elsewhere now and we miss out on another.

3.) 23 Aug 2025 14:37:20
You heard wrong Oxley, the fact is the deal is done but Krejc wants a couple of days to think things over.

4.) 23 Aug 2025 14:49:06
So if true, this is Jeff Shi's fault how exactly?

He has negotiated a price with Girona and agreed the terms and conditions of contract with the player (or the club have).

Player then changes his mind. Somebody enlighten me how this is Shi's fault.

5.) 23 Aug 2025 15:29:56
??? Jeff Shi ???

6.) 23 Aug 2025 16:20:48
FOSUN are to blame for this mess. Today's performance is on Shi as is our probable relegation. We look hapless. Being in the Prem means nothing if we are going to have to struggle season after season - and what's the point in being in the Prem if our chairman is only aiming for 17th. What a farce.

7.) 23 Aug 2025 16:28:03
Unlikely to be Shi who talks to player. Would be Teti. Worrying that there are too many occasions where players are choosing to stay put, as opposed to moving to Wolves and the Premier League. Can’t be the lure of the supposed best league in the world that is losing its attraction!

8.) 23 Aug 2025 16:57:36
tgwolves. I swear Jeff Shi looks exactly like Vitor Pereira in the dugout today. Or maybe Toti was to blame for his idiotic booking after 8 minutes and subsequent sending off. Or was Shi disguised as Toti too?

9.) 23 Aug 2025 17:22:18
We are in our 8th consecutive year in the Prem and I'd argue there were 4/5 players not good enough starting in the eleven. That's on Shi and FOSUN. Of course players have to take responsibility, as does the manager, but the reality is we have fallen into a steady regression at the end of the 19/20 season. Are you going to blame that on the players and the manager?

10.) 23 Aug 2025 17:41:42
Can't work out why Toti is captain. Barely talks during a game, and very prone to mistakes.

11.) 23 Aug 2025 18:59:32
Football is all about opinions and would be boring if we all agreed one with another. I will re-iterate my take on where we are regarding prospective ins and outs. I don’t see JSL as a natural goal scorer. Got a reasonable return last season but should have got a lot more. Missed good opportunities, at key points in the game, both last week and this. Anything north of £55 million from Newcastle and anything circa £10 million for Hwang and £20 million for Silva and I would move. On all three tout suite. Replacements aren’t easy but more chance with £80 million plus to back up your plans rather than £30 million. Looks like Kalajdzic if off given his absence today. Not shedding tears for any of the above, as they are just not good enough.

12.) 23 Aug 2025 19:07:45
Ray'that just goes to show how little leadership we have in the squad I'm afraid, Toti isn't a good enough player full stop, nevermind captain material.

13.) 23 Aug 2025 19:18:35
Wandering Jeff Shi is Fosun's representative at Wolves and responsible for the implementation of their policies that's holding this club back. That's not VP or Toti's fault is it?

14.) 23 Aug 2025 21:03:45
Today was about the performance. The players have to accept some responsibility. The matches are played on the pitch, not in the boardroom. Do we need better players? Yes. Could Fosun run the club better? Yes but these are the players that the managers, previous and present wanted so everyone from the top down needs to play their part.

15.) 24 Aug 2025 09:12:41
I agree with you Wandering, Shi and VP are not responsible for the on field mistakes, there seems to be a lack of confidence and cohesion that wasn't there last season (worrying) also there is a bit of concern for a couple of VP's starting line up choices, for me Hugo and Rodrigo Gomes also Andre for me is undropable.

16.) 24 Aug 2025 11:16:06
Feels the same as when GON lost the team. We need our team spirit back - we need our pack!

17.) 24 Aug 2025 12:10:07
Of course players have to take responsbility, as does the manager, but these performances are the result of a much wider issue. We have one of the weakest squads in the league and we lose our best players year upon year. If I'm not mistaken we have won 1/19 games in August since promotion in 2018. That is diabolical. We start slowly because we are often slow in the market. Is it inconcievable to think that we could go into a season well-prepared?

17 Aug 2025 10:57:14
Any news on Jackson Tchatchoua?

Oxleymoorwolf

1.) 17 Aug 2025 11:49:37
After yesterday’s horror show he’s probably jumped on a plane and gone back to Italy

2.) 17 Aug 2025 12:20:56
Perhaps he watched the game yesterday, went straight to the airport and got a plane home?

3.) 18 Aug 2025 03:05:40
It's done should be announced within next 72 hours.

4.) 18 Aug 2025 09:00:43
Cheers rated. Should be a good signing, ersonally I don’t rate ki Jana hoever as he can’t defend.

5.) 18 Aug 2025 10:23:48
All done, just waiting on Work permit. Should be announced today (Monday)

16 Aug 2025 10:09:06
Hearing Kakub Kiwior CB (Arsenal)very much on Wolves radar.

Oxleymoorwolf

1.) 16 Aug 2025 10:29:08
He'd be a good signing but we might be too late to the party, offers over £20mil already in from Milan and C Palace.

2.) 16 Aug 2025 13:13:14
He'll probably stay in the London area.

3.) 16 Aug 2025 13:33:21
Oxlymoorwolf not a chance he's a left footed CB he wants more game time so VP drops Toti not a chance.AT 20 odd mill Wolves won't pay that for him to sit his arse on the bench simple as.

4.) 16 Aug 2025 15:16:51
why do we keep being linked to defenders, it’s the one place we have enough . if there was ever an injury to the back three, it would be easy enough to just revert to a back 4 . we all want to see a midfielder and another attacker, those are more important to us . even another striker on top of that, not yet another centre back .

5.) 16 Aug 2025 15:34:36
paying £25 million just so a player can recover from suzi perry’s mental jet wash is just ridiculous .

6.) 16 Aug 2025 16:29:40
TheHangedMan I completely disagree, last season we conceded more goals than anyone barr the relegation 3. This season the defence is weaker, and at RCB we can choose between Doc, Bueno and Mosquera. I've got no confidence that any of those are good or injury resistant enough.

A left footed CB, (Kelly, Kiwor etc) provides cover for Toti and/or he plays centre of a 3 and Agbadou plays RCB.

4 at the back is a good 'chasing a game' option but Vitor is always going to start with 3.4, 2, 1

7.) 16 Aug 2025 17:12:03
yeah, as long as it doesn’t impact us getting a midfielder and another striker but £25 million is a lot to take out of whatever budget they have

8.) 16 Aug 2025 17:21:00
Molineuxway Mosqueara is the best RCH if he's fit unfortunately you say never fit. He had one very bad injury better Dog and Santiargo

9.) 16 Aug 2025 20:34:48
See tonight's result and game, the performances of the CBs and you might think again chaps.

10.) 17 Aug 2025 01:13:14
After the game against City I thought we played well in parts first 30 minutes were very good.
But those 4 mistakes where we switched off have cost us dearly.
We need the following positions filled ASAP!
RWB-Jackson
CB-Disasi/Veiga
CM-We need two CM's worried how the press was aimed solely at Gomes and Andre by city.
FW-We need pace as an outlet. We played some nice football but we can't stretch teams enough or consistently enough. Pace is a big attribute in the squad which we have been blessed with Jota, Traore, Neto, Cunha over the past 8 years.
ST-I know some fans were disappointed with Fofana linked but if Larsen had gone off what was the back up? I know Sasa.
But I loved Vitors style and I thought the philosophy and how he wants Wolves to play we need to give him the tools to execute the style that will take us up the table.
Jeff and Fosun please pay the money for the quality we need. I don't expect Isak to walk through the door but serious reinforcements and quality required to supplement Vitors vision.
Jackson, Disasi, Veiga (loan), ANY MIDFIELDER, Aghehowa.
We need to spend the money to improve the quality of the overall squad.
Com'on Jeff the penny has dropped and it's reverberating.
Well done to Wolves, team and fans for the special reflection of Diogo and Andre.
But we are always here for the Jota family. Once a wolf always a Wolf.

11.) 17 Aug 2025 08:34:31
Most noticeable factor in the game was our lack of pace, going forward but most frighteningly in recovery. City players were constantly running away from us.

12.) 17 Aug 2025 10:11:30
Getting beaten by the best team in the league shouldn't and won't change our requirements.
We had a decent 30mins then we just let them repeatedly carve straight though the middle of supposedly our best players, who had Andre, Gomes, Agbadou and Sa down for replacement and they were all terrible.

For me VP got it wrong with the selection but perhaps he was just being loyal to last seasons players. Munetsi is a 6 or an 8, same as Andre and Gomes.

13.) 17 Aug 2025 11:29:09
City were comfortable on the ball, stronger and willing to take on players, shoot and find space. They have paid big money to get player who can do that. Wolves have sold that type of player and are trying to put a team together on a small budget with low wages for the premier league. I thought the players tried but seemed to tire, maybe chasing the ball for too long or trying to keep a shape as they were being moved around. Overall I thought Larson hardly if at all held the ball up to bring midfielders into the game or take pressure off the defence as the ball kept coming back on them. Hoever's distribution was poor and for all the effort in midfield, no-one seemed creative or had that bit of quality to open up city. Lack of goals may be a real big issue this season.

Does anyone know what players are missing from the Portuguese trip other than Moller Wolfe obviously?

Oxleymoorwolf

1.) 11 Jul 2026 14:58:13
I assume Raul + Jose Sa may be late back from the World Cup.

2.) 11 Jul 2026 16:09:15
I would have thought Bellegarde, Santi, Sa, Raul, Krejci and Sasa are still on holiday, having been at the World Cup, and Moller Wolfe will be given time off after England beat Norway tonight (hopefully).

11 Jul 2026 08:38:15
I firmly believe that potential incoming players always consider the status and credibility of the Manager (Peixoto) before committing themselves to a transfer. Then add to this the track record of the Owners (Fosun).
When taking this into consideration Wolves are hardly an awe inspiring proposition.
Sad but in my opinion, true.

Oxleymoorwolf

1.) 11 Jul 2026 10:07:24
You're actually chatting sense, but also garbage at the same time.
Peixoto is the new club coach, he's not the manager, he has a say in players coming in, but he has no more than 50% in the choice; that's what the scouts and recruitment team do.
As for Fosun owning Wolverhampton Wanderers, get used to it; it's not going to change anytime soon.

2.) 11 Jul 2026 10:30:16
Please read again, sME... "In my opinion"... "incoming players perceptiveness"... Coach/Manager, same thing in the eyes of incoming players.
Your comment on Fosun I consider to be garbage, as it merely reinforces my opinion.

3.) 11 Jul 2026 18:47:31
You make perfect sense to me, Oxley. Wolves' reputation has gone downhill since Nuno left. Any credibility we could have gained was gone with Lopetegui going. Whose fault was that? Fosuns.

24 Jun 2026 19:05:14
Hardly a stampede for our summer signin……. Same old?

Oxleymoorwolf

1.) 24 Jun 2026 19:42:36
I've heard it's reported that the whole program is being held up because of the delays in the sale of just one player, Joao Gomes. Why would that be the case if true?

2.) 24 Jun 2026 21:57:07
I suspect Long, because it's hard to spend money that we don't actually have. I think the Gomes money was likely earmarked for contributing towards Cesar's transfer budget. The cynic in me also wonders if this is why we have suddenly put a low price tag on Mane.

Let's be honest, we don't have a lot of assets worth big money. With Andre tied down, that pretty much leaves Gomes and Mane.

3.) 24 Jun 2026 23:22:33
Absolutely Bully's, I suspected our new CEO may want to rescue Wolves from the downward spiral, but everything will have to be funded by the Club, as I doubt Fosun's requirement for Wolves to be self financing remains unchanged. As for Mane, the fact he's been priced to sell confirms this, imo.

As I've posted before, my concerns are that building a team to get promoted is one thing. But what happens then? If Fosun hasn't changed their ways, that's when we'll see it. In which case, it will be a case of 'ok lads back on your heads' and get ready for more struggles in the Prem, or worse.

4.) 24 Jun 2026 23:36:18
BB, as usual, a sensible post grounded in reality.
I think posters need to smell the coffee, and realise that a few free transfers, ironically of players who are markedly better than the players currently at the club, are not "below" the club now.
Stability is required after several years of self-induced catastrophic collapse, and a few high quality (if old) pros will bring that in the short term. Without them, Wolves could easily be looking to rebuild from Div 1 next summer
I love the optimism of some, but it's going to be a long and painful summer trying to exit the various overpriced, over-paid, but not very good players that currently fill the squad and replace them with substantially (wages and amort) cheaper, but better players!
With the new SCR coming into effect this year, Wolves simply have to exit a number of them, albeit it will be at not insignificant losses that, ironically, are no longer going to be relevant with the demise of PSR.

5.) 25 Jun 2026 08:45:53
It's that time of year again, where all the speculation abounds again. tfig, with all his sermons on finances, if you're that good, mate, why aren't you CEO of finances for Fosun? Who knows where the club would be with your expertise.

As for signings, maybe the targets are enjoying a break and pondering their decisions. Let's wait and see before knocking what is or what isn't being done.

6.) 25 Jun 2026 10:34:40
The market is always slow outside the big 6 when a World Cup is on. It might be more stagnant at the moment, with extra players involved. 42 squads of 25 players each are a lot of footballers.

We will still need to sell to bring players in, though.

The only thing the owners could fund is infrastructure, otherwise the club have to be sustainable with the playing squad whether the owners want to or not.

7.) 25 Jun 2026 11:12:22
I think the fact players are on holidays and at the World Cup might be affecting things. Also, the transfer plan will have changed now there is a manager change.

Personally, I don't think it matters, as I don't think the new manager has the experience or ability for the Championship.

I just have the feeling the cycle is going to continue, and we will have a new manager by New Year.

8.) 25 Jun 2026 11:49:46
Give the guy a chance. There's not a ball been kicked in anger yet, and he's being written off. Look what Brighton and Bournemouth did with unknown managers.

Does anyone know if Rui Silva has been retained as a coach for the time being? He seemed to be doing a reasonable job.

Oxleymoorwolf

1.) 15 Jun 2026 18:11:44
Hi Oxleymoorwolf,
There was a thread on here a couple of days ago, after Re was fired. Pretty sure they said Rui had left. Don't think he was fired, just opted to leave. If you keep scrolling down, pretty sure you'll come across it.

2.) 16 Jun 2026 12:51:15
Thanks Blacksford. I asked the same question a couple of days ago. In answer, Goodwhileitlasted1 wrote:
"The rumour yesterday was that Watling and Trollope had been sacked alongside Edwards, and Rui Silva had opted to leave of his own volition."
I suspect he had his eyes on the head coach job himself. I think he would do well in that post with another club.

Interesting. Longmynd just reiterates what everyone is thinking, in that Nathan Shi has no authority, really, and it's still the same old Fosun epidemic. In reality, nothing changes there. Whatever Guo says, goes.
Simon Jordan is irrelevance personified, so who cares what he thinks.
Brad Friedel is spot on. Piexoto (Zenga 2), take note!
