Exclusive: Ipswich Town in advanced talks to sign Anel Ahmedhodzic
1.) 23 Aug 2024 13:55:32
Clearly we don't fancy EFL based players as Ipswich have also picked up Greaves and now seemingly Clark from Sunderland, (both look v good propects), for circa £30m the pair.
Odd as lower risk, given no cultural adjustment issues to deal with etc etc, and also probably "homegrown" not an insignifincant benefit.
31 Aug 2023 16:07:38
Bueno announced.2 today so far
1.) 31 Aug 2023 18:12:35
Subject to work permit apparently but at 24 years of age, a 6ft 4" frame and can apparently play a bit, sounds like a good signing.
This is probably why the Elvedi pursuit slowed down somewhat.
2.) 31 Aug 2023 20:33:10
With Pond gone to Stockport and Dawson's age is there an arguement for taking both?
Quality players (Swiss international) at the price (circa 5m?) he is available for must be worth signing?
It must be possible that this season we will have injuries, suspensions or loss of form amongst the CBs and the extra cover for the price, over a 5 year contract it is only circa £1m and his wages, it is surely worth it?
Additionally If both he and Bueno have established themselves, (and are under long term contracts ), then we may, subject to either Dawson remaining solid or one of our younger CBs developing to become the 4th option, be able to solve the remainder of our FFP problems by selling one of them, (or perhaps more likely Kilman), at a substantial profit next year?
3.) 01 Sep 2023 08:29:24
I haven't seen anything of Elvedi but it appears he is available at a reasonable cost, so why has no any other club gone in for him?
09 Sep 2022 13:07:56
Has Costa officially been signed?
1.) 09 Sep 2022 14:35:20
Yes, squad number 29
2.) 09 Sep 2022 15:10:32
Yes but due to events yesterday the club felt it wouldn't be right to announce it at this time.
3.) 09 Sep 2022 16:39:34
Makes sense
4.) 09 Sep 2022 18:47:18
I did think that yesterday
Bit like the potter announcement was very low key
5.) 09 Sep 2022 19:39:24
Have to give the club some credit on this one, even if it doesn't work out (hopefully it will look like a master stroke come the end of the season:). They moved fast and no one can say they haven't tried to address our problems in front of goal. I worry that the extra wage will sink the Denayer move (which would be understandable) cause we are still a little light (experience wise) at cb. Fingers crossed it still happens then it will be over to you Bruno ?
6.) 10 Sep 2022 07:39:17
Apart from trying to sign Ramos I think they have done all they can.Still pinching myself about Costa joining tbh.
7.) 10 Sep 2022 10:31:37
Early in the week it looked like the Dendayer deal had stalled with the player wanting a better deal. Not sure what the current situation is.
8.) 10 Sep 2022 22:12:58
Well I'm sure Debbie will put me right
07 Aug 2022 18:39:27
Guedes all done,medical tomoz
1.) 07 Aug 2022 19:36:57
If Guedes arrives it will signal the departure of MGW. Bruno likes his inverted wingers and Guedes plays that role, where MGW has been deployed in pre-season and yesterday. Not sure it is his best position. I think he will go to Forest as Cooper is more likely to play him more centrally.
Very surprised that the talk around Coady is a year loan with an option to buy. Unless there is a hefty loan fee involved, it doesn’t make sense to me. We should be looking to get the money, while his stock is still high.
Striker is still the priority. We played quite well in parts yesterday but never really looked like scoring. Saves their keeper made were routine. Not sure how I feel about the names being banded about. Ramos is probably my preference but he is young and unproven.
Would love us to get Nunes, as he is the type of aggressive, running midfielder we desperately need. Bruno obviously doesn’t really trust Ronan or Cundle, and if Moutinho is out for a few weeks we are probably looking at two midfielders to fill the voids.
2.) 07 Aug 2022 20:01:03
I have seen little about the injury to Moutinho, does anyone know what's happened to him? thanks
3.) 07 Aug 2022 21:02:43
Personally we should play gibbs white centrally or kind of same role he was doing at Sheffield but if a bid of what there saying nearly 40mil comes then I would snap there hands off and look at another attacking options and definitely a goal scoring midfielder
4.) 07 Aug 2022 22:03:15
Don't disagree Wolfthistle/Wolvessida if an offer off £40M comes in for MGW, then sell him and put the money into Nunes. Then bring in a Striker, job done, that would then become a very good window.
Having said that it would be a shame to lose Coady but it looks like the role Nuno created for him is going as we transition to 4 at the back. Personally, I'd like him kept, but if he's not going to get game time I suppose he'll go.
5.) 07 Aug 2022 22:10:57
I still think we need 6 players Guedes excites me but the club need to provide Bruno with options on his bench.
The subs getting yesterday were Bueno, Cundle and Campbell .
I think with the signing of Guedes who I expect to be a replacement for Traore.
We still need a cb (not confident of our cbs playing as a back 2), wing back, attacking midfielder, forward and Striker.
Although why not give Traore the wages he wants sign him for 3 years and try to get our money back next year whilst strengthening our squad and bench?
Wouldnt rule out keeping Cutrone as well and get him imposing himself on the opposition as a front 3.

Hopefully WHU get relegated and we can have Nuno back lol.
1.) 22 Apr 2026 13:08:57
Nuno won't come back whilst Fosun are here, mate.
2.) 22 Apr 2026 13:51:24
I got too much respect for Nuno to wish our club on him!
3.) 23 Apr 2026 14:19:27
Oh, how I wish I could bump into those so-called Wolves fans that wanted Nuno out. Be careful what you wish for...
20 Apr 2026 09:25:04
Apparently Tolu and Mane had a bust up in the dressing room last week so one of them will be leaving I reckon.
1.) 20 Apr 2026 10:11:30
It's already been speculated that it'll be Tolu leaving, which suggests he was the aggressor? Like so many of these players, though, we have little to no chance of recouping the £21m we wasted on him!
Also, questions need to be asked of Rob Edwards, and if he's respected in the team.
Fighting between players was the beginning of the end for Gon because it basically represented that the club was in complete crisis mode, with a very real lacking in respect or authority. Sorry to say it, but I can't help but feel that's the case again here. What a bloody shambles. ?
2.) 20 Apr 2026 10:18:44
Pity he didn't show that level of aggression on the pitch!
3.) 20 Apr 2026 10:31:23
Reminds me of the time there was a bit of argy bargy in the dressing room after a defeat during Mad Mick's reign. Apparently Carl Ikeme punched a hole in the tactics board. My only surprise was that we even had a tactics board!
Mind you, I think Mick's team could probably beat the current lot.
Mick got sacked only because we slipped into the relegation zone with about 13 games still to play, and therefore plenty of time. That luxury was never earned by us this current season.
4.) 20 Apr 2026 11:24:09
I hate to say it, but I suspect the atmosphere at the club is toxic from top to bottom and has been for a very long time. Possibly even during Nuno's later months. The close-knit togetherness of those first two or three Nuno seasons has been slowly lost, with management changes and a seemingly less researched approach to transfers.
5.) 20 Apr 2026 13:52:58
We definitely have dropped our standards with transfer research. Nuno had a very small but well-researched squad, from the 2017/18 season in the Championship onwards. Injuries were light because of this, and even the personal character of prospective signings was delved into to weed out problem players. When you look at most Wolves squads in past Fosun years, there were always match-winners amongst them compared to now.
Look at the Cunha hat-trick at Stamford Bridge in February 2024. Chelsea couldn't cope with him and Neto. Cunha struck again on Saturday. No doubt about it, we're sold the Crown Jewels every season, and finally stopped replacing them. Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth have managed to sell and prosper, but not us.
6.) 20 Apr 2026 13:59:03
I think that was under Dean Saunders, deep throat.
19 Apr 2026 15:52:18
MGW so annoying with his silly holding his ear celebration.. Wish someone wud cut them off!!
1.) 19 Apr 2026 16:09:06
Amazing how he ups his game just in time for a major tournament and a move to a bigger club. Most top players now have toe curling celebrations. Their egos know no bounds.
2.) 19 Apr 2026 16:49:15
Forest a big club?
3.) 19 Apr 2026 17:08:15
No. Spuds last season, and Man City (and others) this season. Same thing last season: he played like a man possessed when the bigger clubs were sniffing about.
4.) 19 Apr 2026 17:40:49
Got you.
18 Apr 2026 18:15:17
Spurs winning... looking like we are down tonight.
18 Apr 2026 16:37:16
Normal service resumes... another dire performance... relegated next week as can't see Spurs winning either.
1.) 18 Apr 2026 16:49:49
We'll be confirmed on Monday if West Ham draw.
2.) 18 Apr 2026 16:55:26
Yep ur right.
3.) 18 Apr 2026 17:11:08
Wack and hope, totally clueless. Nice to see Edwards directing traffic on the touchline again. What excuses this time? No playing style, passion, or ideas. Every time I watch us play of late, I feel like the life is being sucked out of me. Crap manager, crap team selections, crap team, crap owners. Time for fan revolt and protests.
4.) 18 Apr 2026 17:33:42
We're down, all bar the details. I want to take either Spurs or Forest with us.
5.) 18 Apr 2026 17:19:12
I don't often post, but read the comments a lot. It is easy to blame the ineptitude of the previous chairman, Jeff Shi and he has already apparently gone 'upstairs', however, there is one individual who I hope never sets foot in or near Wolverhampton again, the person who started this rot which was never going to be overcome and that, in my opinion is Pereira, who somehow always manages to land on his feet. All the defeats and poor play at the start of the season left us bottom with very little hope of recovering. The man came in and tried to be a 'breath of fresh air', but did nothing to prepare the squad for this season.
The sale of some of our top players seemed to happen without a word being said by him against it. That is the way it appears, even if it is not the full story. If Rob Edwards can now begin to build to 'hit the ground running' next season, which will need both ability, mental tough ess and physical strength, then now we know our fate, it is already time to accelerate the plan for next season. I am fairly sure that RE knows this and has been planning already. Some players will move on, without a doubt, but if he can replace well, then there is a little bit of light to come from the current darkness.
6.) 18 Apr 2026 17:59:12
Watched abit of Portsmouth, Leicester and Derby, Oxford earlier, neither wonderful, but there was more purpose, energy and fight in the teams than we showed today from what little I heard.
The team hasn't any motivation, or it seems, organised plan. Toti is a liability. Angel put his shirt on and that seems was good enough to start. Jackson wasn't playing the same game.
Santi seemed to be going quietly about keeping Calvin Lewis quiet.
Kreiji tried. Andre and Gomes were a lonesome twosome, Armstrong did what he could. Bruno the only player really putting a shift in.
Edwards is the coach and says they did well in training, maybe because they were playing each other, because the last two games it's not shown on the pitch in real games.
Edwards has been a disaster bar a couple or so when the players lifted themselves against higher opposition, we can't drift into a Championship league without being up for it every game and I now really don't think Edwards is the man to lead us.
Who'd come to take over if Fosun actually decided to show some interest? Well I actually wouldn't mind O'Neil returning to be honest.
Yes he was awful in his time, but it wasn't as bad as this. Robbie Kean? Yep, it may work, and we'll need some kind of pull to attract players with experience.
I've got to hopes to keep my interest for the remaining games, 1. To beat Spurs and hopefully pull them down with us. 2. To finish above Burnley, making the last game interesting.
What an bl**dy mess we (Fosun) have got our club in.
And finally, my pet hate, can we please, in our anniversary season, wear Old Gold shirts except where there is a genuine colour clash.
(I know I'm not alone on that).
7.) 18 Apr 2026 18:33:44
No, leave them in the change strip, most of them not fit to wear our gold shirt.
8.) 18 Apr 2026 18:36:50
Absolutely agree, "Old Gold" apparel, Abbey.
However won't make us play any better!
9.) 18 Apr 2026 19:09:25
You're right, Ray, hopefully it won't be this shower next season tho. And, yes, sadly it won't, Oxley.
Coz the Old Gold will mean nothing when it comes to pulling on the shirt, sadly.
29 Nov 2025 12:18:17
Bet he is on the bench!
09 Nov 2025 14:31:50
Nice package
07 Nov 2025 16:36:36
Why not.now is the time to bring them in nothkng to lose
06 Nov 2025 19:12:13
Approach has been rejected so where does that leave us?
05 Nov 2025 14:06:40
Oh No!
18 Apr 2026 16:55:26
Yep ur right.
18 Jan 2026 07:16:24
Harvey Barnes is the dangerman.always scores against us.
11 Jan 2026 13:28:41
Chorley 3-0 always springs to mind
09 Jan 2026 12:41:52
Lol i'm behind you!
14 Dec 2025 07:04:22
Maybe we should play the rest of the season games away from Molineux.we are a poor team at home and an unlucky team away . so we have no chance at present!
