Seems that the rumour mill is suggesting that we have concrete interest in Nicholas Raskin. Have seen him play a few times and think that he would be an excellent addition if we can get it over the line.

Derry

1.) 23 Jun 2025 23:40:29
Would he be a back up for Andre/Gomes?
Or do you think he can play further forward?
It sounds as if Rangers would want £10-15m?
Whilst he might well be worth it unless he is going to be a first choice I am not sure we can afford to be paying that sort of money for a back up - unless we are getting decent money for Traore and or Doyle?
Horrible thought surely we wouldn't dare sell one of the Brazilians this summer as well?

2.) 24 Jun 2025 06:02:28
Don't know much about Raskin other than he's a full International. Maybe he will play alongside Andre with Joao Gomes moving further up the pitch. Either way, if he improves our squad, then he's a welcome addition.

3.) 24 Jun 2025 07:05:39
He is a high energy box to box player with greater technical ability than our two current holding midfielders, breaks the lines going forward and has an eye for a good pass. Plays with enthusiasm and forward thinking. Not unlike Tony Currie, remember him?

4.) 24 Jun 2025 12:51:10
That is a big claim better than Andre, Doyle and Traore?

5.) 24 Jun 2025 13:27:19
Better passing range than Andre, better stamina than Doyle, better technique than Traore and I mean no disrespect to those players who can all play their part.

6.) 24 Jun 2025 15:51:38
Hahaha but he isn't Claude Makelele.
Andre's passing is very good over last season he was playing through balls every game.
Andre's all round game is very strong he is aggressive and has the skills to carry and play the ball forward.
I think he was making up for short coming around him especially in defence before Agbadou and Toti were playing each week.
Never really seen anything to suggest Doyle's stamina is an issue. He was normally played as a sub.
Traore is a combative midfielder I don't expect technical boubacour

7.) 24 Jun 2025 17:30:51
Your welcome to your opinion Madman but also consider that Doyle and Traore are both being considered for sale so obviously the manager doesn't rate them as highly as you do. But each to his own and opinions will always differ.

8.) 25 Jun 2025 11:03:51
Not entirely true Derry, VP has specifically come out and said that Doyle has been unlucky not to get more game time and that it's a simple case of not fitting the system. Don't disagree on Traore mind, was a REAL shame he got injured when he did last season because selling him would have been good business, the guy is absolutely bang average! I've not seen Raskin play but all I will say is that the Scottish league is worse than the Champ, doesn't take a lot to shine there ?

9.) 25 Jun 2025 11:35:07
I agree that he would be coming to a more competitive league so would perhaps need some time to adjust but he also does well at international level so, at his age and with further development quite likely, could easily bridge the gap and become integral to the squad.

10.) 28 Jun 2025 21:46:16
A dead donkey would look gud playing in scot prem especially for 1of the top2teams.all the others are non league standard.waste of money

01 May 2025 07:38:52
There is always a lot of press speculation regarding sales of our players at this time of the year but what funds would we hope to accrue?

Silva will leave.
Cunha?
RAN?
Doyle?
Dawson?
Semedo?
Fringe players?

Vitor will require some quality additions which won't come cheap so what could his warchest be once the sales are completed?

Derry

1.) 01 May 2025 12:35:10
Well 21m for Silva (assuming there are offers, something there's actually not been much of), 62.5 for MC, 20 for RAN (after we give Algiers their add on 10), 5 for Doyle after Mancs cut. Sod all for Dawson, Sarabia and Semedo. Though 10 for both Sa &Johnson and 15 for Guedes. So £140m or there abouts. 30 or 40 of which would be needed for 2 keepers.

2.) 01 May 2025 14:46:05
I would hope we would be accepting anything north of 45-50m for RAN. Especially when clubs like pool are quoting 45 for Harvey Elliot.

3.) 01 May 2025 15:09:24
Sorry VaBWolf but he loses the ball too much, and is a liability in defense. Frankly I don't even think the usual suspects would offer £30m for him.

05 Dec 2024 14:22:10
If Potter doesn't feel that he can take the job on full time then they should offer him a contract to the end of the season.

Derry

1.) 05 Dec 2024 15:47:06
It would be a good option Derry, bu he has been quoted elsewhere as saying he has told Wolves in his view, they haven't the squad to stay up.

2.) 05 Dec 2024 17:15:07
Sorry Rugeley buddy but I don't believe that for a second (not aimed at you:)! Not cause I think we have the squad but more because why would he even engage if he's not interested in the post?! Sorry but I suspect (rightly or wrongly) Potter sees himself WAY above our station! He also doesn't need to rush into a job as he's got his Chelsea millions to live off until the right job comes up! To be honest I think we would be VERY lucky to even get Moyes with the way this club is run! ?

3.) 05 Dec 2024 18:25:25
I agree Bullys. I cannot think that a quality mamager would contemplate taking on this basket case. Maybe a has been who would look at some short term role, ie to season end, for quick dosh. Surely anyone with a CV would want written into a contract firm commitments from Fosun that they are unlikely to sign up to.

4.) 05 Dec 2024 18:29:29
Maybe Potter isn't as good as people think he is?
He wasn't exactly a roaring success at Chelsea.

5.) 05 Dec 2024 19:32:47
I actually think you could be right Rated buddy, he had one of the worst win % at Chelsea and they've rinsed through managers! Ironically though it's precisely the reason he doesn't need to take the risk on us. His success/failure in his next role will likely define the next decade of his career (e.g. Prem or Champ) and with that being the case I suspect we will be to big a risk for him? Who knows ?

6.) 05 Dec 2024 21:01:06
I tend to agree with the Potter comments, from what I can see he's still got a lot to prove at the top level.

26 Apr 2024 12:00:06
Reported that the club have tabled a bid of £12M for Osayi Samuel.

Derry

1.) 26 Apr 2024 13:30:33
Certainly would fill a position I believe we need to upgrade.

27 Dec 2023 09:11:02
Mohamod Amoura is currently being touted by various football press outlets as a player of interest for Wolves. Had a quick look and I like what I see, reminds me of Jota. Let's hope we can pay the £10M transfer fee.

Derry

1.) 30 Dec 2023 09:50:52
Not a striker. 5’6”” and everything I have seen is him cutting in off the wing. Victoria Plitzen centre forward has opted for Eintracht So that is one less option. Guirassy is being scouted by Manchester United and is probably too expensive. Given our budget constraints it is either a loan or someone nearing their contract end: Che Adams. Not convinced that he is what we need.

If my memory serves me correctly, quite a number of the players claimed that they improved whilst under the leadership of Lopetegui. This claim was also made about Bruno Lage, Gary O'Neil and Vitor Pereira. So it does beg the question, why are they so awful now? It's a funny old game, and we are becoming the laughing stock. A full overhaul is required, and assuming that Fosun will stay, it needs to start with the departure of Rob Edwards. He has had plenty of time to stamp his philosophy on the club but, as we can all see, it is shambolic, with no clear identity and no reason to think that things will change when we are in the Championship.

Indeed, it will probably become more worrying as the squad will almost certainly be weaker and unable to provide any real challenge that would give us hope of a return to the Prem any time soon. The halcyon days of the Nuno era are well behind us now, and anyone hoping for a repeat is surely delusional. Prepare yourselves for years of slugging it out in the Championship, and don't take it for granted that things may not get even worse.

Derry

03 May 2026 09:49:27
Assuming that we have our wishes granted and RE resigns or is payed off, what manager with any sort of pedigree is going to want to come and slug it out in the Championship?
Choices will be few and far between so we could be in a situation where we take a gamble on a foreign coach and we know that has been disastrous in the past.

Any home grown coaches interested and willing, not many I fear, so a difficult season in the Championship beckons where we will struggle unless something changes and we make some smart or lucky decisions.
The close season will be fascinating and will determine our destiny for many seasons to come, so let's hope they get it right.

Derry

1.) 03 May 2026 11:42:14
I now read that bolts, or 'fittings' as described,
were falling from the SB roof, which explains the large area of empty seats in the bottom corner.
Surely that's the omen to Shi Ii. The Club is in pieces, the grounds are going to pieces. When exactly are Fosun going to take action?
When will their words mean anything to us?
This is a disgraceful situation for such a large company to preside over, and if they are not embarrassed by the situation, then they must sell up, and quick.

Do they really think relegation isn't a problem? Do they have any care, or shame for that matter, in their identity?
More importantly, why do they treat
the fans and people of Wolverhampton with such disregard?
From what they promised to us, overseeing our demise is embarrassing and unforgivable.

2.) 03 May 2026 12:46:16
We all know that ultimately Fosun, mainly Jeff Shi, has run this club into the ground. Lage, Lopetegui, GON and VP have all come out and said that the hierarchy (Jeff) is to blame.

With this in mind, I was prepared to give Edwards a chance, but the fact that the team show no attacking intent is not down to the owners.

It is squarely down to Rob. All the other managers at least put out a team that attempted to score goals, even though their longer term plans were being hampered by Fosun. What is Rob's excuse for the style of play?

3.) 03 May 2026 13:41:41
Let's be completely honest, it's a shambles from top to bottom. Even just reading the posts above. It's Fosun, it's Edwards, there seems to have been an issue with some metal parts falling from the roof in the SB. The whole structure is completely disjointed. Fosun has got what it wants from us, the 'Wolves brand' for their eSports, which is highly profitable and more predictable than the operation, and constant dipping into their finances involved in running an actual real-life football club. Hate to be negative, but I just don't see any ambition with these owners now, and, with that, how can we attract the right manager, who in turn can attract ambitious players.

There was, or at least seemed to be, a plan under Nuno, but whether they got a 'nose bleed' looking at how much it was going to cost to maintain the momentum and push on from two consecutive 7th placed finishes, who knows. Since then we've slowly but surely slipped down the league and sold off all our best players, and this is the result. A current team of maybe 4-5 PL players, and the rest Championship at best, and yet another manager who seems devoid of ideas.

4.) 03 May 2026 17:44:14
One big issue with the club.... Fosun.

5.) 03 May 2026 21:26:39
Are they making big profits with e-sports though?
Anybody know the actual figures?

6.) 04 May 2026 11:10:49
Just checked this, it is a shade over £10.5 million from 104 tournaments. I think Wolves Esports are ranked 6th in the world. They have received multi million dollar investment, apparently massive in China and growing worldwide. Of course, they have separated this arm of business from the football club, but the esport players happily pose in the Wolves colours trying to look mean.

If that is all Fosun are interested in, would it not be beneficial to Fosun to sell the football, a Wolves FC, to a serious investor who cares and will grow the club. They sort out a licensing deal for the shirt sales in China and then f*** off instead of strangling us to death for the b****** child which is esports.

7.) 04 May 2026 18:53:35
Thanks Southbank.
Not exactly earning them
a fortune yet, at least.

27 Jan 2025 09:14:54
Where has all the excitement gone?
Replaced with apathy and disinterest. No ambition, no investment, no future. Sad times for our great club.

Derry

1.) 27 Jan 2025 11:07:25
I don’t often on this site as all my views would have been negative ones. I am now going to be positive. I am positive that Wolves owners have no idea to run a football club, I am positive that Wolves are a feeder club to other clubs and selling their best players. I am positive that Wolves will be relegated as I am positive that Wolves players are not good enough. I am positive that good players do not want to come to Wolves. I am positive that we need a good centre back, a good centre forward and probably a new team. I am sorry that I am positive in my views.

2.) 27 Jan 2025 11:37:15
I just do not understand the lack of communication from the CEO.
The few times he does post something, it is all irrelevant philosophic musings. Not addressing the real issues.
Surely Fosun can't see this as acceptable?

3.) 27 Jan 2025 12:12:20
Oh how right you are Derry, I'm beginning to find myself not caring what's going on or not. I'm semi expecting negative news so maybe I just don't want to hear it?
Can't get over excited about the vile match as it'll more likely be more of the same and I'm watching the blood pressure. Seriously I'm fed up with being let down by an unenthusiastic side who don't see or care that those shouting their names are being hurt.
Ultimately Fosun don't seem to care, so how can I?

4.) 27 Jan 2025 12:42:21
Just heard Vitor on WM, he says they only need another midfielder. Oh boy are we in trouble

5.) 27 Jan 2025 13:07:28
I doubt my post would be allowed if I wrote how I really feel about the owners and individual players at the moment as this situation is utterly depressing and disgusting. We are going down, and we won't be able to attract any quality players now. Fosun will bleed us until there's nothing left and sell us. I'm sure I read somewhere that we are the last remaining club with Chinese owners and you can see why. I can honestly see a free fall from the PL into the Championship and then EFL again. These owners have simply lost interest and need to be ousted.

6.) 27 Jan 2025 14:32:47
Ray- in which case he needs to talk to his own staff as E and S are reporting that we've (finally:) made a bid for Danso (CB)?! What an absolute shambles, you honestly couldn't make up how badly our club is currently being overseen! ?

7.) 27 Jan 2025 15:47:15
I thought we'd list out on Danso, maybe it was over money and Mr.shi has opened the petty cash draw? Will it happen? We've seen it all before.

15 Dec 2024 11:39:24
He's gone

Derry

06 Dec 2024 11:50:57
There has been a lot of conjecture about who could replace GON should he eventually depart.
One name that has yet to be mentioned is Will Still, English manager of Lens, currently without his coaching badges but with a good reputation in Europe (for young managers) and has previously been considered by other Premier clubs.
Straight talking and with an ambitious outlook.
Who knows, a wild card that may be worth playing.

Derry

1.) 06 Dec 2024 13:10:43
He only joined Lens in June 2024 and has 2.5 years left on his contract. Can't see Fosun putting money in their pockets for him.

2.) 06 Dec 2024 13:12:45
Looks like they are going for Carlos Corberan. You might know him. I should go fishing but the lake has frosen. Have a good weekend all.

3.) 06 Dec 2024 14:06:38
If they do, then this just confirms that they really do not understand the club at all. Corberan has not set the world alight and the fact that he is the CURRENT Baggies manager will not go down well with us at all.

4.) 06 Dec 2024 14:35:39
No no no for so many reasons apart from the obvious shrunken.

5.) 06 Dec 2024 17:05:29
Someone said to me today but please take this as a pinch of salt moyes and potter to be at the match on Monday to be honest a load of bull I reckon

6.) 06 Dec 2024 17:07:10
?? somebody's got a wicked sense of humour. Wish I'd have thrown that name into the pot just to wind The Tesco bags up if nothing else.
Hopefully there's a manager out there similar in the mould of Nuno. Somebody we don't have much knowledge of, but doing a great job at his current club and wants an opportunity in the PL. Might be hoping for a little too much, but surely there's someone out there.

7.) 06 Dec 2024 17:10:47
You could be right to be honest nuno wasn’t really heard of so could be someone out there who would like to have a go but O’Neil has to go now even if we win Monday

8.) 06 Dec 2024 17:24:51
For ages I've thought concierge ex porto might be the one, but as with Potter and moyes West ham are now being linked.

9.) 06 Dec 2024 18:26:38
Corberan ???

10.) 06 Dec 2024 19:03:55
I think Potter and Moyes will be at the match on Monday for West Ham not Wolves.

11.) 06 Dec 2024 19:06:41
Corberan has been thrown in to the ring to wind both sets of supporters up imo. As for potter and Moyes being present on Monday, I can see that being a healthy possibility, Potter has his eye on the west ham position apparently, and Moyes might well be giving the wolves squad a look over.

12.) 06 Dec 2024 19:07:51
One of the names on the list is Vasco Matos from Santa Clara. Never heard of him. All I know is that he's 41 years old, Portugese and has his team 4th in the Liga Portugesa with 8 wins from 12 games.

13.) 06 Dec 2024 19:08:30
Bell boy!

14.) 06 Dec 2024 20:09:51
Southgate any1?

15.) 06 Dec 2024 20:13:40
Neither potter or moyes will be ther.too professional for that.i thinknrhe bognor regis manager will be ther tho.make of that what you will.oh.hes taking his wife and daughter to a west end show.so.EVEN he's not interested in the job?is terry connor still available?

16.) 06 Dec 2024 20:33:17
BuxWolf. You should serve a 7 day 'Wolves Banter' Ban for even mentioning Southgate ????

17.) 06 Dec 2024 21:38:31
I came up with Corberan so that should mean I am out for good ?

I'm pretty sure that the club scouting team are working continuously not just when the transfer window opens.
There is, I have no doubt, a reasonable list of future interests which may or may not come to fruition in January.

There is a common consensus that the club need to get rid of a high percentage of the players, but before we are too hasty and throw the baby out with the bath water, we should consider if their poor performances are, in part, down to below par training and naive tactics deployed by the manager. The squad has no identity, no recognisable tactical approach, and seemingly no direction to succeed, which requires some commitment, and at least some understanding of what the manager requires from them.

There are good players in this squad, but the manager, rather than getting the best out of them, seems to have reduced almost all of them to shadows of what they could be. Edwards needs to go. He has already shown us that he cannot compete in the Premiership, so why delay the inevitable.

Fully agree, Abbey. Rob Edwards has already demonstrated that he is out of his depth in the Premiership, so keeping him on is a pointless exercise because if we do, by some miracle, gain promotion, we will soon be in exactly the same position as we are now.
A new manager needs to be appointed asap, should be backed financially, and it needs to be someone who can bring back a team identity, because, at the present time, we are a shambles, no playing philosophy, no squad cohesion, and a fan base that is crying out for some semblance of unity and ambition from those who hold the reins.

I have been a supporter for 60+ years, have seen the highs and the lows, so understand the diverse emotions supporting Wolves brings, but what currently annoys me most is the seeming complacency of those in charge. If that doesn't change, we have no hope of coming out of the darkness any time soon.

Two views clash a little bit here. On one hand, we have lots of criticism about the players not being good enough, so we shouldn't be too harsh on RE if we accept that he inherited a sub-standard squad.
On the other hand, RE is out of his depth and isn't managing the squad effectively. Can it be both?
My personal view is that RE has brought the worst out of the players, who seem confused and disoriented.

With someone in charge who has good man-management skills and some idea regarding tactics, this squad does have quality. Just watch what they achieve when they move on to a better-run club.

Would even consider Will Still. Although his time at Saints was less than successful, he has a record of achievement that should be recognised.
