Wolves and Stoke City in race to sign striker Alieu Njie.

Derry

1.) 15 Jul 2026 08:15:10
Is this a new rumour or the one from March 2026 when the same 2 teams were in a race. Seems more of a trot than a race if its taken 4 months and no movement.

2.) 15 Jul 2026 11:24:12
You could be right, GWL.

14 Jul 2026 11:06:29
Adrian Blake is a new name being suggested that we are interested in. Left winger and only 20 years old.

Derry

1.) 14 Jul 2026 19:34:16
Yeah, I read that somewhere. A good signing for the squad, but don't see him playing a really vital role.

26 Jun 2026 08:38:25
Johann Lepenant is currently being pursued by Wolves with an improved bid of £15M being prepared - this is according to Sky.

Derry

1.) 26 Jun 2026 11:39:12
Could be a very good signing. I know Wolves have been linked with him before. Not too sure about the success rates of French players in English football. For example, not on the same planet as players coming from Portugal, Africa, Scandinavia, etc. I could be wrong.

Whatever happens, I wouldn't mind Wolves signing his team mate Louis Leroux. I love his documentaries.

2.) 26 Jun 2026 16:34:24
Could be good.

Saw a line on one of the rumour sites about a player.

Quote: "The reality may not align with the truth."

Who knew?

3.) 26 Jun 2026 16:38:59
Louis Leroux...documentaries... I flipping love that one. ???

Must be the heat. I misquoted a rumour site.

It actually said... "the rumour may not align with the truth".

4.) 28 Jun 2026 14:00:24
Fake rumour. I know because I started this rumour (see in Wolves Rumour 2). Johaan Lepenant is not linked to Wolves. This guy is lying.

5.) 28 Jun 2026 18:00:18
Ha ha.

6.) 29 Jun 2026 20:27:59
Ed is this rumour true?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry.}

22 Jun 2026 17:01:38
Gestifute are still in negotiations regarding Gustavo Sa.

Derry

1.) 22 Jun 2026 18:06:36
Potentially an excellent signing. Do your sources have any other information regarding Wolves incomings or outgoings? Will Real Madrid be bidding £150 million for Jackson Tchatchoua?

2.) 22 Jun 2026 19:03:40
Tchatchoua is holding out for better personal terms which is delaying that particular mega transfer.

3.) 22 Jun 2026 19:18:37
Unbelievable. Real Madrid offering £350,000 per week, but Tchatchoua holding out for that plus a new Rover 214 GSi every 12 months.

4.) 22 Jun 2026 20:07:06
He wanted an "I don't have to run clause" as part of his contract.

5.) 23 Jun 2026 08:36:48
Am I missing the joke? Real Betis might want him, but Real Madrid? I think not!

6.) 23 Jun 2026 12:02:13
I think it's a joke, Doog.

But also think the Sa rumour is a joke. Why would he join us if Benfica are interested? European football and top flight with a famous team that don't get relegated once a decade or come to sunny Wolvo?

Also his value is EUR25m according to Transfermarkt so that means it would take something above that...

Are we really gonna spend £20m+ on a 21 year old that's not played in England before? Have we learnt nothing from the last season? We've already sang this song with Fer Lopez and Fabio Silva.

Can we please get proven players in first then go for players that are huge gambles.

7.) 23 Jun 2026 12:06:42
Just checked the Portuguese press. Apparently, Benfica want to focus on defence, but Porto are interested and likely to get him.

"Luis Aguilar reveals that the young athlete should sign for the Dragons soon for a budget of around 20 million euros with goals included." - this is translated from Portuguese so could be inaccurate or misleading.

8.) 23 Jun 2026 14:35:02
It's important to note a transfer fee is only a prediction by Transfermarkt.

If a club is in financial difficulty, then the fee drops, as we have found with signings brought in and some sold as well over the past 3 years under PSR rules.

Famalicao may be struggling, as they have tried to push for European places over the past 3 years.

9.) 23 Jun 2026 19:04:39
Just call me Mr Gullible, WhatALoad. LOL.

14 Jun 2026 08:26:36
Have just read a report suggesting that the club are exploring the situation with Adama Traore, who is a free agent.

Derry

1.) 14 Jun 2026 10:31:05
Traore, aged about 30 now, could still be lethal in the Championship, although I would rather sign a young winger for the future.

2.) 14 Jun 2026 10:50:25
Not for me - crosses that go out for throw ins should be a thing of the past.

Ballard-Orient
Cleary-Barnsley
Huerta-Anderlecht
Alvarado-Guadalajara.

3.) 14 Jun 2026 11:20:25
No. No. No. No. No. Too much play has to go through him to make him effective. He'll want a decent contract, which is of no use to Wolves going forward. In the PL he'll be nothing more than a 20 minutes here and there player.

4.) 14 Jun 2026 12:22:38
Didn't this guy point blank refuse to sign the very lucrative contract Wolves offered him for 2 whole years? He didn't want us then, so we don't want him now.

5.) 14 Jun 2026 12:29:33
No, no, no, no, no. Please not Adama again.

I'm in row Z in the South Bank, he's hit me with too many "crosses" already.

6.) 14 Jun 2026 13:17:31
^^^ ???? ^^^.

7.) 14 Jun 2026 17:57:08
Wolves should jerk Traore around like he did them.
Then don't sign him.

8.) 14 Jun 2026 18:27:52
I wouldn't waste our time.
He wasted 4 years after his breakthrough season.

It's a funny old world. For the past two or three weeks there has been a high level of criticism leveled at the club with a lot of calls of "Fosun out". Where are all the signings etc. Plenty of calls for the club to sign Jordan James.

The club takes too long and will make excuses when the window closes etc.

Now we have signed James. There doesn't seem to be so many "well done Fosun" comments which perhaps sums up the biased views that are often taken by some on here.

Derry

1.) 20 Aug 2026 19:28:05
Anyone talk about me?

2.) 20 Aug 2026 19:56:06
James looks a good signing, but I'll reserve the well done, Fosun/Wolves, until the transfer window closes.

3.) 20 Aug 2026 20:04:18
With Jordan James coming in, I think a lot of Wolves fans were feeling positive. This was until this morning when the news broke of the injuries to Trippier and Mosquera.

Wolves fans haven't had much to cheer about for some time. Many fans, especially after the fans' forum, were looking forward to a successful season in the Championship, with their beloved team punching their way out of the league.

Currently, it looks like the Championship is going to be one long brutal slog.

Come September 1st, if Fosun hasn't built a team capable of promotion to the Premier League, the fans queueing up to congratulate/thank them for their efforts will fit into a Ford Fiesta - with room leftover to transport a piano.

4.) 20 Aug 2026 21:47:20
Fosun hasn't signed anyone. The club did that. Fosun gets criticised for the self sufficiency policy they have imposed on the Club, so they deserve zero credit for signings which are made in spite of that.

5.) 20 Aug 2026 22:19:20
Didn't Nathan Shi and Matt Jackson both say that the squad needed an overhaul and would look very different come the start of this season? So, why then did we start matchday 1 with 10 players that were here last season? How is that the big overhaul they promised?

6.) 20 Aug 2026 23:14:03
Haha, that's a very brave call, Derry mate! ?
At the time of writing, as a club, we are currently £30m up on transfers, with a team that looks like it'll do well to finish in the playoffs! If someone stole your car, would you thank them for sending back the wing mirror in the post? ?

17 Jul 2026 15:27:06
It seems that Gomes is gone so that is one player with Prem experience out of the door. Clubs seem to have an interest in Hugo Bueno so if he does go that's another experienced player we won't have if we do gain promotion.

Factor into that the strong suggestions that Sa, Kreji, Toti and possibly others may depart and it does make you wonder how we would cope if we do go up with what would be, quite probably an inexperienced squad.

Derry

1.) 17 Jul 2026 16:03:12
No team copes with the same squad. You have to get up first (a big if) and then assemble a squad for the higher league.

12 Jun 2026 21:35:14
I am already beginning to wonder how many matches into the new season it will take before the club hierarchy get twitchy if results don't immediately go in our favour.
Just imagine if after 10 or so games they can see their chances of promotion slowly dwindling, what will their response be, stick or twist.

It's going to be a very interesting season.

Derry

1.) 13 Jun 2026 00:02:56
Good point, Derry. I get why the club replaced Edwards (although the way of doing it seems unnecessarily harsh), but surely you only do it if your replacement has a good track record - at least two successful managerial appointments.

What we've got is a guy with a series of failures, followed by one moderately successful season and zero experience of English football. I can't see it ending well.

2.) 13 Jun 2026 06:58:34
If any players are furious over Edwards' sacking, they need to go.
Don't need them in the team. Yes, I don't agree with how Rob was sacked, but he will think of the compensation he will get. We could have stuck with Edwards and watched boring football all season and struggled.

Believe me, it's very competitive in the Championship. We need attacking football, not pissing about week in, week out, scoring hardly any goals. Let's hope this new bloke gets us playing good football, but we will have to wait and see.

3.) 13 Jun 2026 11:52:40
It's a blinking shambles at Wolves. How they have dealt with Edwards is shocking. I can't understand if Trippier and Jimenez change their mind about signing for Wolves!! I just wish someone would buy Fosun out.

4.) 13 Jun 2026 14:34:15
So many supporters last season were being negative about Edwards and his lack of results, that includes motivating players, and just because, apparently, he spoke to two new signings and he is now sacked, the move is being questioned. Why? I think we all agree Wolves were beyond terrible last season, players and staff responsible. It is obvious, from the latter part of the season, that Edwards is not a motivator, nor tactical; a lot of his substitutions were questionable, and just cos many claim he is a nice bloke, it didn't stop us getting relegated, we needed change.

Now Fosun are allowing changes, fans are not happy with that. What are they supposed to do? What if Trippier and Raul were aware of the change coming, but kept quiet? Only the people involved know the real truth. I say stop this speculation, grab the changes Wolves are doing, be positive into the start of the new season. If, after a handful of games, we are crap, then criticise; if we are good, we'll be singing our way to the Premiership.

11 Jun 2026 10:51:52
Trippier is worth more than the whole Gil Vicente squad which indicates that our new coach was working with a sub average squad but achieved a reasonable position.
I'm hoping he can continue to up his game with a squad which will be far more capable.

Just praying that he has the presence and personality to manage high profile players and get the best out of them.
Will be interesting times ahead.

If my memory serves me correctly, quite a number of the players claimed that they improved whilst under the leadership of Lopetegui. This claim was also made about Bruno Lage, Gary O'Neil and Vitor Pereira. So it does beg the question, why are they so awful now? It's a funny old game, and we are becoming the laughing stock. A full overhaul is required, and assuming that Fosun will stay, it needs to start with the departure of Rob Edwards. He has had plenty of time to stamp his philosophy on the club but, as we can all see, it is shambolic, with no clear identity and no reason to think that things will change when we are in the Championship.

Indeed, it will probably become more worrying as the squad will almost certainly be weaker and unable to provide any real challenge that would give us hope of a return to the Prem any time soon. The halcyon days of the Nuno era are well behind us now, and anyone hoping for a repeat is surely delusional. Prepare yourselves for years of slugging it out in the Championship, and don't take it for granted that things may not get even worse.

I think we have to be realistic. Any player out there who is worth looking at will be attracting attention from a number of clubs, not just Wolves, so there will always be a contest for his signature, that is, assuming that his parent club is even open to offers.

The chances of finding a real bargain are slim given how comprehensive the scouting networks of most clubs are.
What is most important is that we spend wisely and not have a knee jerk moment like we have in the past to our regret.

Not confident enough to predict a finishing position, but I fully expect the season to be full of highs and lows. Early-season results may give us a boost of confidence if results go our way, but the opposite would also be true.
The more interesting question might be which other teams are going to be challenging.

In 3 years time, you will be able to sell him to a top European club for double what you are paying for him now. An excellent player and an excellent character.

We all have our favourite players, and we all have players that we would rather didn't get a starting position, but as Wolves fans, we should be supporting them as soon as they pull on the shirt, regardless of our opinion.
