Viktor Johanson is a target for Wolves and Wolves are in pole position to sign him. However, it is understood that Wolves will only advance talks when either one of Johnstone or Jose Sa is sold.

As far as what I've read on Tolu to Fiorentina, yes they offered to take Tolu on loan. Wolves want a sale or a loan with an obligation to buy. Or a loan with targets to hit to make it a mandatory purchase, but Fiorentina didn't want that. That's why Wolves refused; if just a loan, then the season after he comes back at Wolves.
Good on Wolves for once sticking to their guns. He knows he's not going to play, so he either goes to Genoa or Ajax if reports are true. Tolu turned down a chance to go to Trabzonspor, so now he's running out of opportunities. I don't think Genoa can afford him; that leaves Ajax and he gets European football. It's in his court.
23 Jul 2026 16:03:49
Absolutely right, Dmac. Also, it seems somewhat ironic that Tolus' behaviour since then has demonstrated why the club wanted a mandatory fee agreed. This is Hoever all over again; club after club had said he's got a poor attitude, and here we are, all these years on, trying to get rid. 🙄
23 Jul 2026 16:41:39
Bullys, it's Wolves' transfer policy, another last minute signing, 24mill I think, because everything is left to the end. Look at this window now, yes Jiminez and Trippier, then Raffki said what, since nothing. Trying to get rid of deadwood, but nobody wants them, I've seen people on here with Tommy Doyle.
I'm sorry, the guy is not good enough, neither is Munetsi or Traore, but what are Wolves doing, nowt. Another disaster of a window, because nobody wants the crap Wolves have, and another manager gets f*** by Wolves.
23 Jul 2026 18:12:50
Probably best to reserve judgement until the window is shut.
23 Jul 2026 18:54:22
It's not a hard transfer window, but Wolves are making it impossible.
Gk Johansson, Stoke.
CB Alleyne, Citeh, loan.
Cb Arrey-Mbi, Braga, loan with obligation.
CB Webster, Free.
CM Casaderes Gil, Vincente.
FW Andre Luis, Olympiacos.
FW Varela, Benfica, Loan.
FW Pablo, West Ham.
FW Monga, Citeh, Loan.
FW Derry, Chelsea, Loan.
I get your point on the CM, I think Traore or Doyle would do a job in the Championship.
Both are pretty prone to injuries, though.
I would sell all our cbs from the first team last season. And I would sell Krejci (just in case you thought I'd keep him), Hwang, Jackson, Bellagarde, Tolu, Munetsi.
The options above are options, and they should be chased now.
22 Jul 2026 20:51:25
Tolu Arokodare sat down, refused to leave the training pitch and demanded Wolves let him move to Fiorentina.
Credit to Talking Wolves on X.
23 Jul 2026 07:36:21
My Sheridan will sort him out, no problem. I'll send him to Compton in his silk pyjamas to guard the entrance.
23 Jul 2026 11:46:04
If Fiorentina are prepared to pay the market rate, let him go. He clearly doesn't want to be at the club.
23 Jul 2026 14:36:34
How much is "the market rate" for a ÂŁ24m flop?
23 Jul 2026 15:13:49
ÂŁ38.50.
23 Jul 2026 15:31:47
No idea, Ron, but if he's that bad, why does anyone want him.
22 Jul 2026 18:50:06
Maccabi Haifia have almost completed the signing of Nigel Longwjick, please excuse the spelling, for just 500K
Player is keen on the move.
22 Jul 2026 19:37:40
It is too cheap, should be given more opportunities.
22 Jul 2026 20:25:45
There must be a sizeable sell-on percentage favouring Wolves.
22 Jul 2026 20:51:32
He did nothing at Huddersfield.
22 Jul 2026 22:15:18
Thought the Club's coaching staff were supposed to make players better and fit to play in whichever league the Club happens to be in. If they continue changing Managers, Coaches and selling & releasing youngsters, there'll never be any continuity.
22 Jul 2026 22:41:00
With Nigel Ron, he is 23 years of age. How many more seasons do you give a player to develop into a premiership standard cb?
Yes, I know we aren't there. But he has been watched and loaned since 2020. He just isn't good enough for where we want to be.
23 Jul 2026 14:51:57
He's not alone, though, is he? Players just aren't coming through the academy, and whatever happened to the 'feeder clubs' our owners were shouting about a few years ago? Or did they decide Wolves would be one? We fed the PL and starved ourselves. Trouble with taking that route is you don't know when to stop.
22 Jul 2026 18:49:13
Bill Nsongo has been approached by Wolves for a loan with an option to buy for 1.9 million. He is a striker at Deportivo de la Coruna.
22 Jul 2026 19:54:58
Would be an amazing signing, will most likely replace Tolu, but I heard Mallorca were interested in him.
22 Jul 2026 14:05:41
The exclusion of Tolu by Cesar Peixoto has been met with the approval of the wwfc squad.
The group feeling is that this will strengthen the spirit and allow for everyone to understand that there's a leader inside the club now - and no disrespect to authority will be allowed.
Credit to Wolves Fancast on X for this.
22 Jul 2026 15:10:54
Transfers, as ever, are far too slow. Should have signed 5 by now, so they can play together in all matches before we start, not like last year, bringing them in after we started. Thought we would have learned by now, but apparently not. Very poor management.
22 Jul 2026 17:56:07
World Cup year is always slow. Top teams pick the best and then the merry go round starts. Take West Ham, they've signed 1 player for just over 1 million and Burnley have only just got a manager.
People need to take a breath.
If we have no more signings by close of the window, then complain.
We have signed 3 early signings. Gomez has just been sold.
I would expect something to happen next week on incoming.
22 Jul 2026 18:46:32
That's the way I see it, Camo.
There's a couple we have missed out on though:
Devine, Preston ÂŁ6m
Lankshear, Middlesbrough ÂŁ11.7m
Dobbins, Southampton ÂŁ10.5m
I don't particularly rate Lankshear and Dobbins, but still important for squad depth.
22 Jul 2026 20:27:59
Don't need Dobbins. Wasn't there a donkey called Dobbins? Wolves have enough right wingers.
22 Jul 2026 02:50:21
Tolu causing issues again, refused to leave the training field when he was asked to do so.
22 Jul 2026 06:17:28
He's obviously toxic for the group, get him gone asap!
22 Jul 2026 07:48:56
According to the happy clappers, Tolu is a top player and should be starting every game. Build the team around him.
From day one, it was obvious he was lazy and had a **** attitude. An atrocious signing.
22 Jul 2026 08:55:42
Where have you seen that, Plaza? I have not seen any posts suggesting Tolu should be in the team. If I'm wrong, point me to those posts, please. And, what's a happy clapper? Is it someone who's been home & away for 50 years, but now finds it difficult to attend for whatever reason, maybe health or affordability...
I must be a happy clapper then, cus I only went home & away for over 50 years. Most of the grounds I've been on are supermarkets or houses now... Happy clapper ffs.
20 Jul 2026 20:50:04.
Will Lankshear is very close to signing for Boro. They’ve also brought in another striker from Hull.
Matt Jackson saying he’s happy with how the Wolves squad is looking. Two free transfers and a £7.7 million winger. Jackson saying “of course” players will come and go before the window closes, which means the saleable assets who don’t want to be at the club will leave and a few cheap players will come in.
Soon as the fans have brought their season tickets the real Fosun shows up. Good luck at the next fans forum when Wolves are 8th in the league.
Wolves have zero chance of finishing in the top two. Zero. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn’t heard of Fosun and started supporting Wolves yesterday.
20 Jul 2026 22:13:16.
You do realise that 8th place ensures a player off spot and a chance of promotion don't you?
20 Jul 2026 22:29:02
Did they not say they were going to throw the kitchen sink at getting promoted at the first time? What's changed again, or was it all lies? I think judgement day is fast approaching, as they asked to be judged at the end of the window. Can't believe Raul and Trippier would come if not, or have they also been lied to?
20 Jul 2026 23:18:54
I think we just need to trust that they'll bring players in. There's no way there aren't signings lined up. Rafiki Said came out of nowhere. Others are to follow I imagine.
21 Jul 2026 07:52:38
Nathan Shi: "There is definitely going to be a lot of new faces this year."
Mike Taylor: "The problem with saying things in public is that people remember that you said them."
Well said, Mike Taylor. Someone with intelligence.
If Wolves don't sign a decent goalkeeper, and a central midfielder who is capable of getting assists and goals, then the team is in trouble. If Krejci goes, then Wolves will need a new left-sided centre back. Toti on his own will be disastrous.
21 Jul 2026 13:41:26
Finishing 8th does not guarantee a play-off place. 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th contest the play-offs.
21 Jul 2026 13:50:27
No, I think it's 7th and 8th also this year.
21 Jul 2026 13:52:58
Not by the new rules, Lex. Now it's up to 8th place. Although I would argue that any team that finishes 8th is very unlikely to go up, as it would suggest at least 2/3 teams that are massively better than them!
21 Jul 2026 14:57:50
Sorry, Simonlaura, 1st I've heard of that.
21 Jul 2026 17:13:31
Lex, the changes were announced in March 2026.
22 Jul 2026 08:58:01
Massive fall from grace if we are hoping for at least 8th place to scrape into the playoffs.
20 Jul 2026 16:20:03
2 incomings
Jordan James from Leicester 16m + add ons
Solly March (free agent) RW, LW or WingBack
2 great bits of business if rumours are true March has had his injury woes but still the right age to get us up and play a huge part in future if look after him
20 Jul 2026 16:49:23
Where have you got this from?
20 Jul 2026 17:13:23
I'm sorry if I'm wrong, but Wolves are not going to spend 16mill with add ons, no chance.
20 Jul 2026 17:59:51
Solly March has played just 19 times in the last three seasons, with last season being by far his worst, with just 4 games! When you say 'look after him,' I can only assume you mean some kind of Voodoo treatment, as the guy looks entirely spent?!. 🙄
20 Jul 2026 18:36:24
Jordan James is at Rennes, not Leicester.
Adam Webster has been discussed but, at the moment, wants too much ÂŁ. We aren't willing to pay due to still having 4 recognised centre backs, and also due to his injury record. Not dead in the water though.
Solly March is not on the radar. 🤔
We've had another bid rejected for Lankshear. Spurs are wanting ÂŁ20m; we want a straight buy but not for that price (currently). Loan with an option is also being looked at, but will cost more. Bid rejected at around ÂŁ13m.
20 Jul 2026 18:53:07
According to the local Brighton papers, BB allegedly March is now fully fit and training for next season, with a number of Prem teams interested in him?
He did play in Brighton's last game at the end of last season.
(Webster similarly now fit and Mings and Pope would also be good cheap pick ups!)
Similarly, a number of Prem teams and better placed Championship sides, West Ham amongst them, are allegedly interested in James.
Consequently, neither would be easy to complete, and I hear Dmac re-fees.
However, all of the noise coming out of the club about replacing Gomes with quality might indicate that they are willing to spend a chunk of the fee on his replacement - surely they have to?
Trying to be positive as pre season is now well under way and competitive fixtures are less than a month away, yet there (should be) is so much still to do.
PS, love all the Lopez enthusiasm. He might have done well in Spain again this year, but will he have grown a spine and gained a heart?
Trincao was an even better player but just couldn't play in England, so it is hard to see how Lopez, (who just couldn't/wouldn't cope with the pace and power of the league last season), will be able to cope one year later, let alone in the more physical Championship.
Strongly suspect he will be gone back to Iberia by the end of the window.
20 Jul 2026 21:47:05
I'm with Tfiog, I don't trust much of our current squad to get us up.
I'd keep Sa, but if not, Victor Johansson from Stoke.
x3 cbs required: Alleyne, Arrey-Mbi, Webster would be sensible.
x2 cm: not sure what Cesar is aiming for there.
x3 wingers: Andre Luiz, Pablo, Eboue or Derry on loan from Chelsea.
These are the players I would keep.
Sa (understand he will probably go, but still a decent keeper).
Mane
Armstrong (experience, and the fact he will probably score 10 plus goals).
Lima
H Bueno
R Gomes
Andre
Trippier
Raul
Traore (I know, but his physicality could be useful).
Bentley
Abby
Edozie
The rest can go for me, genuinely want a new defence and some pace up front after the dross we watched last season.
21 Jul 2026 13:58:15
Haha, isn't it funny, TSG buddy, how these absolutely crocked players are always 'fully fit' as soon as they are without a club or contract!
Personally, I wouldn't touch a player that hasn't been able to complete a double digit of games for the last three seasons with a flipping barge pole!
With Lopez, I would give him a chance (till Jan), and see what he looks like in the Champ.
Plenty of players who struggle in the Prem then shine in the Champ. Last thing I want us to do is another MGW where we sell for cheap and end up looking very silly just 12 months later. 👍
21 Jul 2026 14:12:12
Well, looking like Lankshear is off to Boro for the reported ÂŁ20m... We've missed a trick there.
The current squad:
Sa
Johnstone
Bentley
Lima
Tchatchoua
Hoever
Trippier
Bueno
Wolfe
Toti
Bueno
Mosquera
Krejci
Djiga
Lonwijk
Bellegarde
Andre
Traore
Munetsi
Doyle
Edozie
Mane
Hwang
Lopez
Gomes
Said
Arokodare
Armstrong
Kalajdzic
Raul
A team full of dross and only Joao and Doc have left.
21 Jul 2026 15:56:22
I hear you BB, but it's where Wolves are.
They can't or won't pay for young, proven talent - some of which is being sold for incredible fees compared to J. Gomes, see thread above - and obviously are no longer able to attract established talent.
Thus, the options are limited.
Total punts - that hasn't gone well over the past few years - like this chap from Belgium, who may or may not succeed this year.
Or players with issues - age, like Trippier, Jimenez, Webster, Pope, etc. or injuries, like Tariq Lamptey and Solly March.
These are obviously cheap purchases, if not free, but come with, as you say, huge risks and often high salaries!
However, if they had signed Calvert Lewin, as I suggested last year instead of Tolu, Wolves might have done a fair bit better.
For me, the first route is almost certain to fail - and did so spectacularly last year - the second has a chance of success, agreed not certain by any means, and is also far cheaper even if wages might be higher.
19 Jul 2026 22:30:18
Wolves are considering a move for Malaga midfielder Izan Merino.
20 Jul 2026 15:16:12
Is he a holiday rep?
20 Jul 2026 17:39:45
Sure he's just served me with a drink in Corfu.
17 Jul 2026 20:24:53
John Kennedy from Fluminense reportedly prefers Lazio over Wolves and Watford.
Fluminense value him at 13 million and might be tempted to accept a 10 mil offer given his contract is expiring next season.
Wolves need to move fast.
17 Jul 2026 20:40:43
Well, that won't happen. They are always very slow in transfer market, need players in Now for pre season.
17 Jul 2026 20:37:56
This isn't reported anywhere esle so not convinced by the rumour, but hopefully you're right in saying he isn't joining us. His numbers are diabolical. No ta.
17 Jul 2026 20:48:09
It was reported in the Lazialia, as well as Sporta Italia.
17 Jul 2026 22:37:11
No sites have reported this story yet again a fantasy story
18 Jul 2026 09:24:35
We were linked to him months ago, in Jan and towards the end of the season, but that was before signing Raul.
