An experienced player up for grabs could be a certain Leander Dendoncker.

I also saw us being linked with resigning Coady on Sky, strange times indeed ?

2.) 19 Jun 2025 09:46:44
Both good additions for squad depth Said Donk would have been good in January.

3.) 19 Jun 2025 11:32:48
We certainly need depth and experience, in addition to young first team starters.

4.) 20 Jun 2025 17:06:52
Can’t believe we are even considering either of these two options. Both struggled toward the end of their time first time around. Both have declined significantly since them
There is no place for sentiment in this league. It is improving year on year and becoming ever more competitive. Increasingly difficult for promoted teams.
Surely lessons will be learned from last year when we found ourselves in a relegation dog fight with them. Whose to say one or two might buck the trend and move comfortably into mid-table safety. We need upgrades in all areas of the team and neither of these will provide that.

Different owners, different times, the Club still like to surprise though, very odd timing, echoes of the historical sacking of Stan Cullis, without the statue of course.

Ron Moore

1.) 11 Jun 2026 09:35:19
Obviously, Nathan is not messing about, Ron, which is a good thing, and I'm guessing our old Portuguese friend may have had some input into this, so, as some suggest, we can probably expect another influx of his starlets.
People query the timing of this, but in truth, it makes perfect sense to do it before pre season has begun. I've never been a fan of Re, so I can't be hypocritical now, but I just hope the new guy is as good as the Club think, after all, with the right backing Nuno was, and we'd not heard of him either.

Hopefully, the Club did this in the right way and not the way some have suggested, but we all wanted a new broom, we all wanted change, so I, for one, am having my passion re-invigorated because Nathan is certainly giving us that.

2.) 11 Jun 2026 09:37:50
Wow Ron, to say that is a generous comparison would be the understatement of the century! Rob Edwards was the worst-performing manager we've ever had in a top league. Stan Cullis was the best! Frankly, if Rob had even an ounce of Stan's ability he wouldn't be out of a job right now! ?

Better tread careful before and during our return to the EFL, they’re almost making actually playing games pointless, we know there has to be consequences for breaking / bending their rules but surely recently they’ve been taking it too far. The points and sanctions against Sheffield Wednesday were ridiculous and put them in League One, also the points taken from Leicester City relegated them to the same League, they even docked ‘our friends’ down the road a couple of points but decided they could stay in the Championship then they flow this up by throwing Southampton out of the play off final for a misdemeanour which could and should’ve been laughed off, seriously, when did watching the opposition help you to beat them in an upcoming game? I’m sure RE’s been watching our opponents leading up to games, say no more.

Suppose what I’m trying to say is : The biggest losers are the fans, the people who put their money into supporting their teams, the very people who make the EFL Championship arguably the second best League in World football, if anyone needs to be punished for any reason it has to be the individuals responsible l, punishing the Clubs as a whole destroys players careers and contributes to fans turning their backs on the game we love, or used too. The EFL imo need to have a rethink before they ruin the product they’ve got, if they haven’t already. The play off final, which has become a bigger and better spectacle than the FA Cup Final, due to their actions has become a game lot’s of fans won’t bother to watch, a case of shooting yourself in the foot, seems to be increasingly what they’re good at.

1.) 21 May 2026 17:35:12
Haha, it's not hard to avoid sanctions, Ron, you just have to not cheat! Leicester were given multiple warnings before they were punished. Did they do anything about it? No! Every team has the same set of rules to work from, and they really aren't that hard to follow or interpret, to be honest. Do you know what is putting people off footy more than anything else? For me, it's cheating, the game's rife with it. Also, if you really think it makes no difference to watch the training, then it obviously begs the question as to why they did it for three different matches? One maybe, but three times for no advantage, why take the risk?
I'm guessing you're also hoping that Citeh never get any sanctions for their 115 infringements either then? And why were Juventus sanctioned for a good old fashioned bit of match fixing?
It is hilarious that you seem to think the FA is at fault for applying the clearly set out rules, but you don't seem to blame the people who are actually at fault, i.e.

those running the clubs. Also worth pointing out here that the Southampton players don't seem to actually agree with you, because some of them are currently considering legal action against the club, someone should tell um that it's all the FA's fault for applying the letter of the law. ?

2.) 21 May 2026 18:31:05
Agree Bully's, and I heard this morning that Southampton are giving the manager the boot over it.
The state of football is no bigger than at City, who go unpunished, even tho they've been found guilty by UEFA on some charges and still play on, buy on and laugh at the rest.

If justice is to be levelled, then some serious action should be coming their way, and not just taking their name off titles, which'll mean nothing, or financial, as they'll afford it, it's gotta be big big points or demotion. Maybe not to the Championship next season tho! Lol.

3.) 21 May 2026 18:34:33
There is a subtle difference between cheating and attempting to compete to break the closed shop.
I would suggest there would be a plethora of cheats at the very top, ensuring that only certain clubs are allowed to feast at the dinner table.

4.) 21 May 2026 19:31:01
I get what you are saying, QS, but it's not like they just look at your books one week, then just hit you with a deduction the next. They give you warnings year on year, and very much did so at Leicester, but the warnings were consistently ignored! Also worth noting on this that Leicester have the largest wage budget in the league, with an incredible £815k per week! How would it be fair, then, for them to stay up by breaking the rules while the smaller clubs that did follow the rules get relegated in their place because they aren't chucking wages around like it's some sort of crazy cash give away?!
Also, I get what you are both saying about the top teams getting away with it, and I couldn't agree more on that one. But I think that's the basis of the point I was originally making.

Part of the reason I have fallen out of love with footy, and I really have, when it comes to watching it, is because it just feels like the top end of the Prem has become a comp of who can be the most elaborate cheat and get away with it?! It's just gross. Like you say, Abbey, the way City seem immune from any genuine consequences is entirely wrong and points to a system which is entirely flawed! Which, again, like my original point, is precisely why I have no problem with the Champ actually having the guts to sanction clubs. It's the only way to stop the cheating, and until the Prem catches up, the league will continue to be tainted by the scourge of blatant cheating! ?

5.) 21 May 2026 19:44:59
The rules are for everyone and that includes the big boys and their bullyboy accountants and lawyers.

6.) 22 May 2026 16:49:09
My point was: why should fans be punished for the actions of personnel employed by clubs? Fans haven't broken any rules, and throwing a club out will cause endless legal actions, especially if Boro win. Also, will the PL welcome a club that was knocked out of the play offs and reinstated? If the EFL can't organise their play offs, perhaps only Cov and Ipswich should be promoted, and only Wolves and Burnley get relegated.

That way they could save Spurs and West Ham. Our owners will be well at home in the calamitous world of the EFL.

7.) 22 May 2026 17:09:55
But, again, Ron, you miss the point, so what's your answer then? Every club should just cheat as much as they want, because we can never do anything that affects the fans?! How's that logical? It's come out now that the manager instructed them to do it, so the club should sack him. No excuses as far as I can see.

If Fosun are staying in town they could do worse than investing in a business that would definitely generate a return, there's a brewery abandoned by Marstons on their doorstep.

Ron Moore

1.) 16 May 2026 11:31:24
A certain well known phrase comes to mind, Ron. They couldn't organise a f*** up in a brewery!

2.) 16 May 2026 13:12:44
Why would people want to f*** in a brewery. Surely it would be better to have a drink.

3.) 16 May 2026 14:54:26
Well spotted. P***!

What section of fans are asking to bring back ‘The Liquidator’? Those who are stuck in the seventies and don’t take youngsters to the game I imagine.

Ron Moore

1.) 14 May 2026 08:21:51
Loyal fans I imagine!
Even without the song there's bad language at every ground including ours.

2.) 14 May 2026 12:06:21
We don't want the Liquidator back. We need a proper song, like a lot of other teams have.

3.) 14 May 2026 15:14:36
Bos, We used to call it industrial language when we worked in factories. Do we really need to promote it at the football? We should be asking Nathan how he plans to keep us in the Championship, not if we can bring back Harry J and the Allstars.

4.) 14 May 2026 17:26:36
Bring back the Liquidator for pre match and L'Amour Toujours for when Wolves score.

Serious question: Is Shi mk2 Interim CEO or has his position been made permanent?

Ron Moore

1.) 11 May 2026 18:06:50
Sa.
Lima, Pond, Djiga, Toti.

R. Gomes, Doyle, Bellegarde, Lopez.

Mane, Armstrong.

How far off will this be for the first game.
In the Championship?

2.) 11 May 2026 18:15:33
Toti not a lb.

3.) 11 May 2026 18:23:37
Hello Greylegwolf, for me, I would like to see us keep Krejci. We probably won't. 442, I would prefer. Sorry to be negative, but I don't want to keep Toti. We have Traore coming back, I think, maybe:
New GK, Lima, Santi, Krejci, Bueno,
R. Gomes, New CM, B. Traore, New LW, Mane, Jimenez.
New manager, please.

4.) 11 May 2026 18:24:44
Sa and Lopez will 100% not be here.

It will be Bentley, Lima, Djiga, Toti, New LB, Traore, Doyle, Rodrigo, Hwang, Armstrong, Sasa.

5.) 11 May 2026 18:25:16
It's now permanent! It appears this club learns nothing from their previous mistakes.

6.) 11 May 2026 18:25:42
Division 1 guaranteed with that side, in my opinion, Greyleg.
I assume Re is still the manager, which will definitely help.

7.) 11 May 2026 18:13:59
I'm thinking it's irrelevant Ron, just window dressing. Jeff is still calling the shots. Just wish we could get rid of these leeches that have destroyed our club.
Just been announced that Shi mk2 is official, means nothing.

8.) 11 May 2026 18:33:57
I agree, Oxleymoorwolf. At least 7 or 8 new faces to give us a fighting chance of survival. Pointless trying to guess next season's starting line up.

9.) 12 May 2026 14:12:57
Couldn't agree more, Oxley and 47. A different team is needed, and, unfortunately, the trust in the Shi's and Fosun just isn't there.

2ndGen: It was ten years ago they bought the players you mention, bought their way to the Prem, they sold them all as soon as they forced Nuno out, and, over the next six seasons, bought & sold their way to the Championship. If that's not mismanagement, then what is? In ten years they've achieved absolutely nothing, back where they started, and now with a Head Coach who doesn't know the League, who seems to have been appointed over the head of the Club's CEO.

Other Clubs have had Chinese owners, they all failed, ours are still failing. We all want Wolves where we belong, we deserve better, Fosun won't turn the Club around, they've done too much damage, re-signing Raul might keep the fans happy for a while, but the next crisis will never be far away.

2ndGen: That's one of the biggest rumours posted recently. The Club's been in decline since the day Nuno's departure was announced. Changing one Shi for another has only fooled STH's, who are struggling to justify why they renewed. It's now out in the open that, from CEO downwards, all positions hold no authority within the Club; they've all become untenable, and in any other business would be followed by resignations. We can only hope the decision maker or makers over in China are fully conversant with the ever changing rules of the EFL, as we've seen what's happened to other Clubs with points deductions and all kinds of different sanctions.

If Fosun are intent on retaining ownership of the Club, their next move really needs to be installing experienced football administrators to run their business, the kind of people Shi number one sacked because he didn't understand what they'd done or why he needed them.

Some people actually think we're making money from being a selling club, and we'll benefit from the proceeds. Fosun really have got some people fooled; keep giving 'em your money, and they'll keep taking it.

It's not under Rob, is it? It's under anyone Fosun employs as Head Coach. Pep would've struggled with this lot. If the standard of players they recruit don't meet Andre's expectations, he'll be off in January, four-year contract or not.

Boz, Fosun have had six years to change, if anything they're actually getting worse, the way Matt Doherty is leaving the club is nothing short of disgraceful.

Fosun aren't good enough to run a Football Club. They won't employ the right people in the right places, and it goes far, far deeper than who's the Manager / Head Coach.
