I have seen a report by Wolves Insider that the club gone back on the deal with Traore due to them feeling we have enough depth in the squad. Don’t know if this is reliable or not? If he does sign in the end please let me know.

Prediction for the game 4-1 our way.

FcWolves

1.) 06 Sep 2026 11:54:46
FcWolves, all reports I've read say he's already signed a 1 year deal with option of a 2nd if promoted.

2.) 06 Sep 2026 13:10:18
Nothing on the official club site. Hope there is nothing in the rumour that we are having second thoughts. I think he looks a really good addition.

3.) 06 Sep 2026 14:15:17
I would believe a word that Football Insider print. They're full of more s*** than a public toilet.

4.) 06 Sep 2026 14:16:12
Wolves Insider are clickbait, mate. Deal is done with optional year if we get promoted.

5.) 06 Sep 2026 16:22:23
Guess he'll only be staying for any year then, Rated. We're a long way off promotion. Our defence is a shambles.

6.) 06 Sep 2026 23:13:43
Hate to say it but I said we lacked pace at cb and in the forwards all preseason.

Solutions. There's a couple:

1. The defence has to play more narrow, and the wide forwards, Mane/Armstrong and R Gomes, must track back. There's too much of a gap between the midfield and defence. Andre needs to switch on. The wide forwards not tracking back is the reason Patrick Roberts was able to play his pass to Stansfield.

2. Not yet, but if we have no success we revert to a back 3. Start keeping clean sheets and play JJ next to Andre from the start. The main reason he doesn't do this is that Cesar likes to have engine players that he can bring on to press and win the ball higher up the pitch in the second half. It's still early days, but is Munetsi doing enough in 65-70 mins right now?

3.

Standards need to be set for Mane, R Gomes and Armstrong, with rewards for hitting so many goals and assists before November. Nuno was great at setting the squad short-term targets, which meant they were more focused. If they don't move, Raul is invisible. It's vitally important they move and link up with Lopez. Just hugging the sideline isn't good enough this season; they must be proactive.

I'm going to leave Jackson alone about the freak OG, but encouragement-wise, it's about consistent quality, not just getting to the byline. The crosses must be better than they were today.

Positives: R Gomes, Armstrong and Raul. Raul's free kick would have gone in on another day.

We should have had a penalty as well...

7.) 07 Sep 2026 08:25:02
If Armstrong is a positive 2gen, then we are in a very poor position. He was a complete waste of £7 million pound.

8.) 07 Sep 2026 09:35:31
Sorry, B Hill, my comment was those players had chances that we should have taken. It could have been another 4 goals for Wolves.

9.) 07 Sep 2026 10:03:05
Fosun - your lack of tactical football knowledge is startling yet you still keep telling us what is needed.
You say that these players must now do this and other players must do that. The coach will have been working on his style of play and his in game strategy but you want him to rip that up and change ya tics and even formation because Blues scored from a handball and an own goal!
Have a day off mate because you do make yourself look silly.
This is a new coach and who has been working with the players for a short time, robbed of two of his starting defenders to injury and only just able to reintegrate a couple after the transfer deadline.

He is not going to change his playing style which has got him where he is now because of an away draw against a local rival.
In all honesty I was quite pleased with the second half defensively as they really didn't look like scoring other than a header that looped onto the bar.
Let's let the players settle in and adjust to being in the championship (with no VAR to give decisions) and get out injured players back and we should be fine.
But please stop preaching your tactical nonsense as it's embarrassing.

10.) 07 Sep 2026 17:12:41
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Have some manners, Tommo.

11.) 07 Sep 2026 17:32:21
Damn straight, Sucka. You can't be talkin' like no jive turkey.

12.) 07 Sep 2026 18:07:00
Tommo, I'd agree, but he has had three months with these players.
If the tactics and style isn't ingrained now, you have to ask questions on the personnel.
As predicted, the cbs that we've watched for 3 or more years now lack pace and don't suit a back 4.
Tchatchoua has had a season in English football now, so the questions get louder and louder.
Every one of those cbs is a squad player in bottom half Premiership teams. They don't have the pace or technical skill to play as a back 4.
Arguably, Djiga, our 5th choice cb, is our best cb so far this season.
So, yeah, I am annoyed that Alleyne and Philips were available.
But, the reason they play out from the back is because there's no pace in the final third.

Under the cosh on Sunday, we should have had an outlet with pace (hopefully Traore and Said bring this later on).
It's called counter-attack; every team should be able to counter-attack, as it's bloody useful to punish the opposition.
And, we can rearrange the dinner table as many times as we like, but these two weaknesses are glaringly obvious to fans who have watched the club the past three seasons, in particular since Neto, Ran, Cunha, Sarabia and Semedo have left.
I say Neto, as that season we had two threats with pace that was changed to one when he never even wanted to go to Chelsea.
Beggars belief.

13.) 07 Sep 2026 21:09:00
Now I agree with all of that, Fosun, and you have a point about how long he has been there. However, some players came back late, some have been injured, and some only arrived recently.
I just think that 7th September is too early to rip up your plan and start again, when we've only lost once and scored lots of goals.
Personally, I think Krecji and Djigga played well, but were let down by both full backs, Munetsi, who charges about instead of holding the shape, and a goalie who has been a liability for 3 seasons.

Don't know much about Konan, but I'd give him a go and get Tripps back, and I think we are ok.
Having said all that, we conceded from a handball and a comical own goal. At West Ham, we conceded to a 'worldie', a big deflection, and a pen.
Give the team and coach time to settle and the style to bed in before we start wanting radical change - we have done that for 4 seasons now and look where it has got us!

11 Jul 2026 10:34:52
Rafiki Said has been confirmed by the club. Thoughts? Does anyone have any more information about him?

FcWolves

1.) 11 Jul 2026 11:00:03
At least 8 goals in all of his last 4 seasons. Feels like what we were missing last year - since Cunha left, we haven't had a proper goal threat.

2.) 11 Jul 2026 12:47:32
Let's give the player a chance. Even the great Steve Bull wasn't reckoned that much when we signed him from the Baggies.

3.) 11 Jul 2026 13:21:38
As I said in a previous post, that is all we can do.
If he turns out to be half as good as Mr Bull, we will all be delighted.
However, it is far from certain you can compare the 2 transfers, as Bull was only 21 and was bought for a bag of beans, whereas this player is 26 and was acquired for a fairly sizeable fee.

4.) 11 Jul 2026 17:11:29
Of course, we can't compare the Said transfer to Steve Bull's, but my point really is that you can't judge a book by its cover. We obviously see something in him.

5.) 11 Jul 2026 23:24:52
Well, that is axiomatically correct.
Sadly, though, that is also the case for every player ever acquired.
Some of whom will have been brilliant - the aforementioned Mr Bull, some will have been ordinary, and some of whom (and, tragically lately, that some could be replaced with most) will have been abysmal.
His record is modest, but as I have never seen him play, it would be wrong of me to dismiss him.
Consequently, whilst I am not optimistic, I have not said he is a bad signing - yet - but have said that there must be safer ones, i.e.

players who have a better or more relevant track record.
All signings are a gamble, but this one, especially for the price, looks a substantial one.
However, as the new manager is just that new, perhaps he is entitled to a punt; after all, he can't be blamed or held responsible for the shambolic transfer dealings of previous regimes.

16 Feb 2026 19:37:53
I have been thinking. When we get relegated down to Championship, Liverpool and Man United will come swooping for Mane. I think he will be very good in the championship so in the deal how about a loan back clause of any kind?

Thoughts?

FcWolves

1.) 16 Feb 2026 21:23:13
I really agree Fc, that would be a great move for all parties involved.

2.) 17 Feb 2026 09:47:47
I hope he decides to stay. He's still a young man and will have plenty of time to get the big money move.

The vultures will circle around our players though.

Sa, Santi, Jackson, Wolfe, Andre, Bellegarde and Joao will all go for about £100m. Doyle, Traore and Munetsi, Rodrigo and Lopez should prove to be a good combination to chose from in the Championship.

We won't need many players to make us the favourites next season but we do need quality.

I would suggest Harwood Bellis and Bazunu as defender and GK

3.) 17 Feb 2026 10:00:16
My thoughts Fc are that Mane, if he is sold for £50mil, must not be loaned into the Championship. If he's worth £50 mil he will be hacked to death to cut him down to size by the usual suspects.

Jota had a tough time in the champ with us. I would prefer to loan Mane to Coventry if they are promoted, and then cash in when his value might get even higher.

4.) 17 Feb 2026 14:11:45
I think we can count out Lopez being in the champ with us, he’s given an interview stating he’s got no intention of playing in the championship next season, I would be amazed if munetsi comes back as well. We can only hope blues don’t go up otherwise that’s Doyle gone as well as they have a clause saying they sign him if they get promoted

Just thinking about Jackson. Poor, poor own goal, but with Trippier injured we don’t have anyone else to start. Feel bad for him about all the comments been said about him. The own goal was his and Sa’s fault for not letting him know he was there.

Raul hasn’t been brilliant, as both goals scored by him so far this season have been pens. Play Neave up front with him will work better.

I don't understand why people seem to suddenly think that we can hear everything that is said/shouted on the pitch? Is there some sort of Sky coverage I'm missing out on? Because unless the answer is yes, then I don't especially understand how anyone can say with any certainty that Sa didn't give him a shout. I also don't really understand the premise of that either, so are we saying that goalkeepers now need to scream at defenders to tell them not to pass the ball back at a ridiculous head height? Because if so, then footy has a much bigger problem generally, because I can safely say (without being told by a goalkeeper) that no keeper wants the ball passed back to their face?!
It was a bad mistake, and that's all there is to it.

We move forwards and all that, but this notion that a paid professional keeper has to narrate to a paid professional defender on how they should pass/look up before passing seems somewhat bizarre and ridiculous to be honest. ?

2.) 09 Sep 2026 15:01:31
FC Wolves, Jackson was facing Sa and could clearly see him when he put the ball in his own net.

3.) 09 Sep 2026 15:36:06
Mistakes happen. We were all disappointed at the time, but it's time to move on and get behind Jackson. He may not be the best defender, but whilst he is a Wolves player, we must back him.

30 Aug 2026 08:09:08
I’m really happy with the win. Reserving early season judgement until the final whistle vs West Ham. Fer Lopez is great as is Rodrigo.

FcWolves

22 Aug 2026 15:16:56
Fer Lopez is very good. What a goal.

FcWolves

1.) 22 Aug 2026 16:51:51
He's really looking good, gonna call it now, Champ Young Player of the Season. ?

2.) 22 Aug 2026 17:08:27
I was looking to back him as Championship top scorer, but couldn't find a price, so gave up. Couldn't be bothered going into a bookies to get a price.

Way too good for the Championship. Makes the game look so easy.

Nice to see Mane play well today.

3.) 22 Aug 2026 17:12:32
Only heard bits of it on radio, seems Fer is becoming the man, and Mane fading down the order with his indecision. Preston not exactly a team expected to put up much, but 3 away points and 3 goals, COYW, was it 10000 + fans there?
Incredible.
Looking forward to seeing the highlights later.

4.) 22 Aug 2026 17:22:17
Where can I watch the highlights? I am at work, so could only watch 1st half.

5.) 22 Aug 2026 17:27:28
Seen em on Sky Sports, thanks anyway... 3 good goals, and 2 misses where we should probably have scored. Good goal scored against us too. Looks like we played well. I know only Preston, but u can only beat ur opposition.

6.) 22 Aug 2026 18:52:34
Channel 4, 9pm tonight, Simonandlaura.

7.) 22 Aug 2026 21:24:53

8.) 23 Aug 2026 08:39:46
My humble apologies, Simonandlaura. If, like me, you tuned or recorded C4 last night, to my horror I discovered it was on ITV4. Apparently they only showed the goals tho.

25 Jul 2026 22:55:16
Ok, first 2 pre season games done. What are your predictions for Wolves place in the league this season? I predict 4th place and win at Wembley to go up.

FcWolves

1.) 26 Jul 2026 00:11:51
No chance. We're a shambles at the moment, with a few weeks before we start. Defence is awful, and no midfield. Doyle is simply not good enough. Krejki. Bueno & Wolfe will be leaving, & take your gold tinted glasses off, Wolves fans, cus this is gonna be cruel. If we finish halfway, I'll be happy. Unless this club actually gets their act together.

2.) 26 Jul 2026 08:39:57
From what I have seen so far, not a lot has changed from last season. We would rather go backwards than pass forward when we have the chance, and the back up players are not good enough. Let us hope we get some new players, or we are going to struggle again this season.

3.) 26 Jul 2026 08:45:28
Lexluna, the only time you will be happy is if we get relegated again, then you can say I told you so.

4.) 26 Jul 2026 09:09:44
Guessing bottom half.
By Xmas, sack the manager, then bring another one in.
Same as normal.
Hopefully totally wrong.

5.) 26 Jul 2026 09:23:49
Hope all you moaners and groaners get to eat a very large slice of humble pie at the end of the season, onwards and upwards. FWAW.

6.) 26 Jul 2026 09:34:59
Glady eat two large slices of humble pie.
If we manage to get promoted.
As it stands, it looks unlikely that's all.
Fingers crossed.

7.) 26 Jul 2026 09:35:56
B Hill, I've followed Wolves for nearly 60 years, home and away, & if you think that's what I want, then you have not got a clue about my loyalties. You seem to think anyone who posts an opinion that doesn't suit your narrative is a doom merchant.

How about we struggle badly, & then you post "oh dear me", who'd have thought it. If Wolves don't sort this out very quickly, we'll be closer to the bottom than the top, & I'll wait for your posts to inspire us if better things to come.

8.) 26 Jul 2026 10:02:49
Tbf, Lex, the question was where do you think we will finish, and all you did was shoot down the original poster, telling them no chance and taking your tinted glasses off, while pointing out everything wrong with the team. Is it any surprise people find this doom and gloom? Why not just give your prediction instead of shooting other opinions down? This can be said for a lot of posters on here; they are happy to shoot anything remotely positive down.

I'm not sure on my prediction yet, as I haven't had a chance to follow the games.

9.) 26 Jul 2026 10:23:36
Not confident enough to predict a finishing position, but I fully expect the season to be full of highs and lows. Early-season results may give us a boost of confidence if results go our way, but the opposite would also be true.
The more interesting question might be which other teams are going to be challenging.

10.) 26 Jul 2026 10:24:54
Thanks, Goatmark, I'm glad to see someone gets the point. There is too much despondency about how we're going to do. He is not the only one who has supported Wolves for 60 years.

We all live in hope that this is the season, but we must not get too dispirited. Get behind the manager and team. Move on, not worry about the past. Those days have gone. F WAW

11.) 26 Jul 2026 10:32:58
No chance of going up, certainly not automatically. From what I'm hearing, nothing has changed in the style of play, which is beyond belief. We can't score goals, and the defence is rubbish.

12.) 26 Jul 2026 10:46:43
Didn't I say closer to the bottom than the top? At the moment, that's my prediction. I would love a couple of weeks activity in the transfer market, but it seems we've got to offload first & then we go for what's left. Tell me I'm wrong.

13.) 26 Jul 2026 11:20:48
Don't make it personal, B Hill, please. Fair play to doing 60 years. Think it gives us the right to have an opinion in my eyes. We'll see.

14.) 26 Jul 2026 11:26:20
This site is all about opinions. Everyone has his or her opinion and debates.

15.) 26 Jul 2026 16:49:12
imo it's quite obvious, QS, that CP is trying to change the style of play. Yes, in two friendly games we have seen some back play and sideways, but we've also seen the gaps that can be created by this, and the playing positions that need to come into them, freeing areas for runners.
Of course we havnt got a finalised team sheet yet, but just two players I've noted are: 1) Mosquiro restraining himself (this could be Trips' words of advice on the pitch influencing him, though), and 2) Munetsi, used to chase all over, now he's held his position.
A more disciplined approach seems evident, and other little things, like 'winning' free kicks, are notable.

Their style of play is transforming, the opportunity to attack developing. The only thing lacking at this stage is the lack of new recruits and knowledge of who will be performing.
The youngsters havnt got the nous or speed to actually perform CP's way yet, and that's where we may come a cropper. It's Fosun's way to some extent, but it's lack of sales that's holding us back.
If we end up keeping the bulk of last year's team, we're not going to get them gelled in time for the real ko, and we could drift into midtable non-competition.
I really hope there's some strong player activity this week out and in, so we can see something resembling a team come Saturday evening.

11 Jun 2026 09:44:51
Anyone know if the club have reported on actual social media that RE is sacked.

FcWolves

1.) 11 Jun 2026 09:50:22
I hold my hands up, I'm no fan of Edwards as a manager.
As a person, you all know why, I have complete sympathy for him.
Wish him luck.
Long live the Wolves.

2.) 11 Jun 2026 09:53:23
My apologies FC, I'd discounted the reports. It seems RE didn't know until he rang the club after a family member saw it on social media.

I'm surprised at the timing, as I'd wanted him gone after the Burnley game.

Now, after his part in getting Tripper and Raul, seems odd.

Getting another 'ambitious' manager without true pedigrees for a Championship season seems risky.

What an unpredictable club we love?

3.) 11 Jun 2026 10:01:17
I'm gobsmacked. While I was very disappointed in Rob last season, and thought he was very lucky to survive, the timing of this is bizarre. It looked like Rob had been given the chance to take us back up, but now this? I saw the rumour a week or so and dismissed it.

Nathan obviously means business, unless his ear has been bent and sold a pup by Mendes. Well, prepare for a few Portuguese players arriving on our shores. Fingers crossed!

4.) 11 Jun 2026 10:07:49
Nothing on the Wolves website yet, FC. Not sure about social media platforms, don't use them.

5.) 11 Jun 2026 10:28:42
Sky Sports have it.
