Fabrizio Romano saying a deal has been agreed for Fabio Silva to join Rangers on loan. No agreement in place to make it permanent.

HalfTimePie

1.) 28 Dec 2023 15:06:59
Looks definite HTP.
Other reports saying Rangers are paying his wages, paying a small fee, with no obligation to buy.
Hopefully it works for the lad. Not his fault the silly fee and wages agreed by Shi.

2.) 28 Dec 2023 15:37:53
Surely there's a no.9 coming in to replace him? I get the impression GON doesn't fancy Sasa much either.

{Ed002's Note - Wolves want to add a striker in January. Mo Amoura, Marcos Acuna and Boulaye Dia are among the options.}

3.) 28 Dec 2023 16:06:41
Interesting that they're exploring the Marcos Acuna option, I know RAN is off to the AFCON, but there's Bueno and Toti Gomes that can play at LWB.

4.) 28 Dec 2023 17:23:42
Hopefully Fabio will get some experience in a sort of tier 1.5 league as well as a little European football in the ko stages of the Europa league.

5.) 28 Dec 2023 18:05:58
Last chance saloon Fabio hope he comes back full of confidence and a success if he cannot score in Glasgow he never will

6.) 28 Dec 2023 18:40:20
I really hope he finds some form and confidence at Rangers and he comes back a better player.

7.) 29 Dec 2023 06:23:18
Firstly no blame should be attached to Silva, not his fault Shi has wasted £35million in fees and £4million each year on wages.
One of the main reasons why Shi created the FFP situation for the Club.
This loan is important for the lad, potentially help his confidence, as he should score a few at that level.
Also important for Wolves, if he does start scoring, hopefully we may get some money back on a reasonable transfer fee.
Intriguing, as strong speculation that Kalajdzic is also being moved on.
Suggests there are firm plans for replacements.

8.) 29 Dec 2023 13:10:43
I’ve said before, on here, and at games, Silva simply isn’t good enough. He will never make the grade as a premier number 9. I’ve actually concentrated on him when he’s played. His positioning in the box, for corners, his runs and movement, simply not up to par. I also watched some of his games out on loan, the first time he came up against decent defence, which happened to be West Ham in Europe, he was back to square one. No disrespect to Scottish football, but yes he will probably score up there. Hopefully he does and it ups his value, because even if he scores up there, he will still struggle back down here. We really do need to off load the lad.

9.) 29 Dec 2023 17:43:20
Not so sure he'll score in Scotland either. Refs allow a more physical game up there and Silva unfortunately looks a Sunday league player. Shame for him as he comes across as a really nice guy, but ruined by silly money amd huge expectations that can not be fulfilled.

10.) 29 Dec 2023 18:00:05
I just don't understand why everyone always has a go at Jeff Shi and blame him for the signings that haven't worked our for us. I don't think he scouted Fabio Silva personally. That would have been the job of the scouting team that Nuno put in place. They would have had to convince Shi that Silva was a worthwhile signing. All Jeff does is sign the cheques based on what the scouting team tell him is and isn't worthwhile.

11.) 29 Dec 2023 19:59:21
Let’s reserve judgement until after Rangers loan. Silva has always shown glimpses of potential. Brave decision to go to Rangers. Tough environment and massively under the microscope. If he comes through that he will have credit in the bank and can return to us or move on with a good transfer fee.
Rangers moveisa wi, win for us, Saar as I can see.

12.) 30 Dec 2023 07:02:20
Jas, sorry, Shi was responsible for agreeing the the ridiculous fee and the eye-watering wages for an 18-year old,
You don't need to understand any thing about football to realise it was an unrealistic financial risk.
100% his mistake.

13.) 30 Dec 2023 09:40:05
In that case Rugeley, Jeff Shi should be heralded as a genius. After all, he paid the high fees and wages for Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota, Moutinho, Jimenez and Cunha. Or does the recruitment team take the credit.

14.) 30 Dec 2023 09:57:14
Smart move to send him on loan again. If he can get a few goals he'll be a far more saleable asset than he is right now

15.) 30 Dec 2023 10:12:25
Jas, Neves, Jota, Moutinho and Jimenez all brought to the Club by Mendes at the time Dalrymple was still CEO.
Cunha was a Lopetequi and Hobbs signing.
When Shi kicked Dalrymple out and took direct control we had 6/7 bad transfer windows.
It is only the last 2 when we have stopped the freefall and money wasting.
Credit goes to Hobbs, Lopetequi and O'Neil for a steadying of the ship.

16.) 30 Dec 2023 12:37:36
Rugeley, Jeff Shi is the CEO and gas been ever since Fosun took over. You can't pick and choose who and when he gets the blame. The fact is the scouting team identify the players not the CEO.

Was Darylmple that good for us in comparison. Isn't he responsible for Cutrone, Miranda, Afobe (2nd time), Oniangue, Mir, Stevenson, Yang Yang, Marshall, Vinagre, Campana, Dadashov, Vallejo and Jordao.

Wasn't he also defrauding the club hence why he was placed on gardening leave.

17.) 30 Dec 2023 12:52:11
New information on Dalrymple for me.
Seems to be doing OK at Harlequins.

18.) 30 Dec 2023 16:29:21
Totally disagree Rugeley. Fabio has great instincts in terms of run and positioning. Where he has gotten grief is in taking advantage of said positioning.

Has any player gotten as open as he continuously does. He’s an A+ in terms of movement and instincts (strength has hurt him though). The finishing will hopefully catch up.

19.) 30 Dec 2023 17:52:21
I accept we have different opinions.
Whatever, he can't be blamed for the situation.
Wishing him, you and all associated with Wolves All Good Things in 2024.

20.) 30 Dec 2023 18:27:23
Agree Jas about Shi always seen it how I see it is.
Pointless posting what I see/think as always falls on deaf ears regarding Shi and fosun.
We winning of late, Neto back GON to sign his own players in January.

Silva good luck at Rangers.
Needs a run in the team to get his wish of playing and contributing to his team.

HNY.

21.) 30 Dec 2023 23:14:19
Happy New Year to you all too.

Changing subject onto something a bit more enjoyable… has anyone got any updates on Manny? Manny Singh Kang and his 48 hour walk around the Mol for charity. Considering what this guy has done and money he’s raised, very little info in the media.

HalfTimePie

1.) 29 Sep 2024 10:20:46
Well he got his mention on Sky last night before the match Htp.

2.) 29 Sep 2024 10:52:27
Manny does amazing work for charity. He is the type of person who makes me proud to be a fellow Wolves fan.

Sam Johnson starting today. No place at all for Sa. Bentley on the bench

HalfTimePie

1.) 31 Aug 2024 14:22:21
A bit risky imo but probably for the best. Sa had been off and Johnson will want to impress. Just hope the communication with the back line is there. Going to be a tough one but think we have strong mentality so fingers crossed we get the win.
Would have liked to stick with the 4 at the back a little longer. See how Dawson and Yerson get on. Bbc says lemina not in the squad but that’s clearly wrong right? Who do they mean anyone know? I know sa isn’t included.

2.) 31 Aug 2024 14:45:53
Podence not in the squad. Guessing him and Sa may be Saudi bound but what do we know?

3.) 31 Aug 2024 14:48:28
Wolves team news
Starting XI: Johnstone, Semedo, Mosquera, Dawson, Toti, Ait-Nouri, Joao Gomes, Lemina, Bellegarde, Cunha, Strand Larsen.

Subs: Bentley, Doherty, Bueno, Andre, Hwang, R. Gomes, Doyle, Sarabia, Guedes

4.) 31 Aug 2024 15:26:51
Podence signed for a Saudi club last night.

5.) 31 Aug 2024 16:06:20
Podence gone for €6 million from what I’ve read, with a clause of 35% of any sell sell on profit

6.) 31 Aug 2024 19:22:24
Not seen game as was at Dagengham in the conference this afternoon but not at all surprised we have gone 5, 3, 2 as I postulated in my piece on the transfer window.
Switching Andre for Bellegarde will be a big uplift and hopefully will make us pretty solid defensively.
How did we look and will we score enough?

7.) 31 Aug 2024 20:46:37
I think we changed from 5 at the back to a 4 from what I could tell, although my stream wasn’t the greatest. We still looked far too open but either team could have won it. Dawson made some useful blocks and Johnstone made some good saves and his distribution was noticeably better than sa but still had a few dodgy clearances. Still look a bit poor on the left with Ait and toti. Andre did well for the time he was on I thought.

8.) 31 Aug 2024 21:10:20
We have a point.
We are out of the bottom three.
The table is beginning to show the error of replacing established PL players with PL newbies.

We can compete with Forest Everton Leicester Ipswich Southampton but are nowhere near the top seven team we were a couple of seasons ago
Sam Johnstone is an ok keeper and we have given him a four year contract so that shows the level of ambition.

9.) 01 Sep 2024 07:30:16
Apart from who is going to run away with the league (unless they manage to hit them hard with that mystical massive points deduction or throw them out entirely) the table says little at the moment. Give it 10-15 games.

10.) 01 Sep 2024 09:51:23
Can’t see us shooting up the table over the next seven games Old Wulf when you look at our fixtures.

18 Aug 2024 15:21:09
Hi all. I don’t post very often due to work and family taking up time, but read whenever I get a chance to. Question for you, is there any option to recall Bueno back off his loan if we need him? Or is it a signed/ sealed season long loan regardless

HalfTimePie

1.) 18 Aug 2024 16:32:52
We can only recall a player during the windows and you can’t do it in between.

2.) 18 Aug 2024 17:30:28
Thanks VaBWolf

3.) 18 Aug 2024 20:50:47
He started his loan well, an assist, lovely ball in, on the 4th minute. I'm sorry he isn't with us.

4.) 19 Aug 2024 11:06:35
According to Liam Keen there is no recall, not even in Jan which seems foolish to me but what do I know ?

5.) 19 Aug 2024 12:53:18
The only positive is that it must mean we're not selling RAN. This season anyway.

6.) 19 Aug 2024 17:48:58
Yes and no Black, cause I think your right it does show that we aren't selling RAN. However, I also suspect they have done it in prep to sell RAN at the end of this season. They have seen how it's worked with Mosquera, let them go out and get games so they are ready to step up when required. I reckon that's exactly what they are doing with Bueno as the loan deal seems pretty specific in that he has to play regularly. I understand the approach but it's awfully dull just being some sort of academy for talented players, not ever really building as a club! Just a talent factory for bigger clubs?! What an exciting prospect for us Wolves fans eh, yawn yawn! ?

06 Jun 2024 13:59:23
Looks like we are keeping VAR then. Re the BBC sports page, wolves were the only premier club to vote in favour of scrapping it

I’m not a happy chap this morning. Ordered a brand new 85” television ready to watch next seasons Premier league.
It’s been delivered this morning, with no leads! ??

HalfTimePie

1.) 28 May 2024 13:34:00
Well what do you expect they failed to get promoted to the premier league.

2.) 28 May 2024 16:53:31

Forbes was registered too late. Paperwork has to be submitted by midday at the latest for the player to be able to play. Sam Johnston was done yesterday morning

And just how is he privy to the actual financial situation of the club? How is this one singular journalist allowed access to the clubs accounts and given the very private details of the company’s business and financial situation

Apart from Channy’s goals, I reckon the one big reason he won’t be sold, is where he comes from- Korea. That market, Asia, is one that Fosun have been doing a hell of a lot to promote the club, the Wolves image, the ‘one pack’ idea. Have you seen the queue of Korean/Asian fans, standing in line outside the South Bank after every game, just waiting for Channy to come out to see them, speak to them, sign autographs and have photos taken. He is a marketing dream for Fosun.

He didn’t sign under Nuno, as he wouldn’t have been able to play. He’d already played for two clubs that season- Chelsea and Villa. So if he had signed he would have been ineligible to play. He’s only just getting over a bad ACL injury too
