Anyone know if the Jhon Arias is on or off?
1.) 16 Jul 2025 10:46:44
The deal is OFF
2.) 16 Jul 2025 13:05:33
QS from what I've read there still talking Wolves just need to up how much there willing to pay for him.Arias wants to move to Wolves he's told Flumanese board Wolves want to sign him it's just time till the 2 clubs agree a fee.
16 Jul 2022 09:27:12
Looks like "one of our own" is off to Everton. Personally I don't blame him given the way he's been past from pillar to post by Wolves.
1.) 16 Jul 2022 10:37:24
"Past from pillar to post?" Joking right? Bruno definitely wanted to keep him last season and recall him in Jan. It was MGWs decision to go on loan for first team regular football.
2.) 16 Jul 2022 10:45:00
Bank the money and move on, he's not wanted to be at the golden palace for a while now, best solution all round
3.) 16 Jul 2022 11:29:29
Get good price and reinvest. Let's face it, the jury is still out on MGW, there's still no guarantee that he will be able to take the step up anyway.
4.) 16 Jul 2022 11:57:39
Dario osario Chilean wonder kid his replacement
{Ed002's Note - Dario Osario (AM/W) Chilean youngster that Real Madrid, Wolves and Brighton are keen on. The City Football Group made a proposal to take him in to the larger fold and likely see him move to Girona and possibly make his way through the structure to Manchester City.}
5.) 16 Jul 2022 15:14:41
What I have I missed? Mgw definitely going?
6.) 16 Jul 2022 16:26:31
Just saw were being linked with midfielder georginio wijnaldum may be replacement for mgw
7.) 16 Jul 2022 17:32:53
Not a lot and no, Maxy.
8.) 16 Jul 2022 18:13:43
No Maxy, allegedly he's in no rush to leave or commit to a longer contract here. I think if Lage gives him game time he'll stay if he's not particularly in Lage's plans he'll go.
Of course if Wolves get a good offer he may not have too much choice, we'll see.
9.) 16 Jul 2022 18:32:38
He’s got to be in lage’s plans other wise why would we offer him a new contract? I have saw a lot of potential in mgw but I find when he was playing here before he went to Sheffield, he just didn’t have the maturity about him on the pitch and like he was trying to hard to impress us instead of just playing his own game. I like what I saw of him at Sheffield and hope he brings that back because if so he will add probably another 5+ goals on he’s end plus setting up some aswell.
10.) 16 Jul 2022 18:45:16
Wijnaldum won't be brought by wolves as they are still keen on Nunes.
Think this rumour is made up by a fan that likes him.
No sense in buying an ageing Wijnaldum when we could sign a young attacking midfielder.
With the rumour coming about a striker being announced next week I am intrigued by who this is.
Maybe Ramos.
11.) 17 Jul 2022 07:23:23
I think MGW as a young man lost direction at the start of Covid
As we know from his partying along with Dele Ali another who seems to have lost the plot since covid, broke the lockdown rules at the time, Gibbs White appears to be back on track and I would personally like to see if he can do in the Premier what he did championship.
12.) 17 Jul 2022 10:25:33
Depends on Lage's plans Wolvesida, if its to keep him on the bench bringing him on for the last 10 mins, he'll be gone.
13.) 17 Jul 2022 12:19:28
Which I agree long, but things of what I’m hearing, if he is still here come first game against Leeds he will be in the starting 11
14.) 17 Jul 2022 13:39:45
Alright lads, first time posting on here, Gibbs white is a tricky one. Knew first hand his driver when he was a youth player and apparently he was arrogant, maybe he thinks he’s too good for us?I don’t really care as long as he’s producing on the pitch. Which for us so far he rarely has. If he doesn’t want to be here then let him move on. Just a bit worried that the squad is getting thinner and thinner
15.) 17 Jul 2022 13:50:07
Just watched a interview with mgw and he seems really pleased to be back at wolves and eager to play he said it is a big season for him I don't think he's going to sold I think he's going to be a big part of bruno's plans
16.) 17 Jul 2022 14:16:53
If MGW stays, brilliant, but if he does go we won't miss what we didn't have last season. As long as new players come in to replace him I'll be happy.
17.) 17 Jul 2022 14:49:16
Welcome to the site Ukrainewolf, interesting handle. What's the connection?
In the interview that Craigwolf mentioned he claims to have matured both on and off the pitch, so maybe he's just grown up a bit. Check it out on Youtube and Wolves TV.
18.) 18 Jul 2022 00:36:38
Thanks mate, I’m English from Wolves but have Ukrainian heritage
19.) 19 Jul 2022 14:40:54
".Go on take the money and run " - Steve Miller Band
10 Jul 2022 16:53:45
Reports that Man utd may come after Neves because Frenkie de Jong turned them down.
1.) 10 Jul 2022 18:27:17
Bring your dollars and make it snappy Mr Glazier
Otherwise stick with McTonamay
2.) 10 Jul 2022 20:35:56
@The Realist ????
3.) 10 Jul 2022 21:36:42
I think he'll stay with us this season then go to Barcelona next and if that happens good luck to him. I can't see him going to Man U or anyone else in the Prem, unless the club gets a stupid £ offer and sell him, but I think his heart is set on Barca.
19 May 2022 11:58:59
If Wolves have serious desire to be a club that plays in Europe, why are we possibly going to sell Connor Ronan?
1.) 19 May 2022 12:44:07
I know he's had the odd good game for St Mirren this season but he's 24 years old now and hardly pulling up trees.
2.) 19 May 2022 14:01:41
I agree Jas, looks like second rate Scottish football is his level, take any fee we can bank and invest it somewhere else.
3.) 19 May 2022 14:30:32
Can't disagree Jas/bigcheese I think that particular ship has sailed and to be honest can't really see why he's still a Wolves player given his chances of making the first team must be pretty much zero.
Now to completely make Demons day, Inter Milan have made a 'tentative enquiry' for Morgan Gibbs-White.
4.) 19 May 2022 15:13:36
I'd take the money for him aswell long,if inter or even Sheffield United come up with enough money, get rid and invest the money.
5.) 19 May 2022 16:07:51
MGW has agreed terms with Crystal Palace with a fee yet to be agreed of around £20m.
Connor Ronan is nowhere near the standard we require to challenge for Europe.
6.) 19 May 2022 16:26:05
The rumours the other day were Crystal Palace or Sheff Utd (if promoted) for £25m. The AC Milan rumour surfaced this morning. Don't know about the Inter interest.
7.) 19 May 2022 16:26:33
Inter? Throw Cutrone in to get him off the wage bill as well!
8.) 19 May 2022 16:55:50
Apologies all, I should have said AC Milan not Inter. I'm having one of those days, lol.
9.) 19 May 2022 17:13:55
Should MGW rumour be true, it could be a good move for him and Wolves. Seria A is nowhere near as competitive as the PL. Just look at Lukaku's goal per league ratio. He's more prolific in Seria A.
10.) 19 May 2022 18:02:07
So just to get this straight here gents. We paid £30m for a young Portuguese player because he would eventually (after 3 years without a loan) qualify as home grown and we desperately need those in order to have enough homegrown players to field a full sized squad in Europe.
Fast forward and we have our own very literal home grown talent, who has won a world Cup at youth level (whilst scoring in the final) and this very season has shone in the Champ. And we are going tk sell that player for £20-25m?! I'm not sure how peeps can keep telling me that our transfer policy is working for us?! ?
11.) 19 May 2022 18:20:19
Not sure there are any plans to sell MGW Bully's. The report says that AC Milan have enquired, that's all.
Wolves may have no intention of selling him.
12.) 19 May 2022 18:23:20
I really hope your right Long I'm not saying he's up to the Prem. I am saying that if we sell before giving him another look then our transfer policy is broken! ?
13.) 19 May 2022 19:09:03
Whether or not MGW is good enough for the premier we have a very good asset who is making noises after a really good return in the championship with assists and goals 23 combined I believe.
I like to think we will give him the chance next season.
If we sell for whatever the reason we will receive some decent money.
Whang will he have a better season next season?
We had been tracking him for the last 2 years before we got him surely he will be in the squad next season so is MGW any worse than Whang?
Vert interesting very intriguing our not too distant future will be.
14.) 19 May 2022 20:03:57
Phil I think the fact that some of our players are of interest to some of Europe's biggest teams is the interesting point for me.
Traore and possibly Neves to Barcelona, MGW of interest to AC Milan, Dendoncker to Lazio and Silva to Real Madrid.
I know that these seeds were sown under the previous Management but that must be seen as an endorsement of our transfer policy.
I know the priority for Wolves has to be the success of the first team but nevertheless it says a lot about the quality within our squad.
This is something I've not witnessed before in 56 years of supporting Wolves.
15.) 19 May 2022 20:08:14
Yes Phil MGW is a good asset and like Bully I would like to see him get a chance, however I suspect there's past history which dates back initially to the lockdown party MGW attended in addition to him wanting more game time under Nuno last season. IMO he wasn't ready and Nuno was correct. Maybe MGW thought he was being punished for the party incident. If he's matured this shouldn't be a problem but I just have doubts he really wants to play for us now, if he did I doubt these rumours about Milan and Palace would be energing. Just my take on all of this, hope he does come back and gets a chance.
16.) 19 May 2022 21:02:20
I believe it may be Real's basketball team, Longmynd.
17.) 19 May 2022 21:40:19
I remember a few times watching MGW that season for us,i saw him making good runs looking for the one two and didn't get the return pass which I saw him looking very frustrated.
But this pre season under new manager Lage MGW was integural part of our plans.
A bit of a head scratcher for me is MGW wanted by our club does MGW want to knuckle down and make his name first on the team sheet or does he want to ply his trade somewhere else.
Maybe MGW must play the role he has done for Sheffield United this season for him to want to stay with us.
18.) 19 May 2022 22:36:55
Probably Old Wulf, lol. The thing is whoever we sell or return after a loan into those leagues seem to do well.
Silva was touted to be one of the best young players out there and that could still be the case, away from the Premier League.
19.) 19 May 2022 23:11:59
Your missing the point on MGW. He has burnt his bridges at Wolves and annoyed too many people, they want rid.
He has already agreed personal terms after meeting Viera and completely fits their transfer model. He may still go to Milan if they agree a few with Wolves but he will NOT play for Wolves again.
20.) 19 May 2022 23:38:46
Saddly I suspect Ard is correct and this is a bigger issue than it seems on the outside. I'd like to see MGW given a chance but the fact he basically turned down the chance to come back into the fold in Jan is not a good sign. Its not that I'm saying its all Fosuns fault (it's usually the player more than the club) BUT I do worry that I don't want this to be 'one that got away'. When you look at Palaces youth recruitment under Viera it has been exceptional! How he got Eze and Olise without others trumping um for the money paid really is nothing short of incredible! That's where w need to be and I don't want MGW to be the player they are all saying 'how did they get him so cheap' around this time next season! Let's hope that's not the case ?
{Ed001's Note - neither Eze nor Olise were signed by Vieira mate.}
21.) 19 May 2022 23:43:06
Long- I get what your saying fella but 'interest' means nothing if its just paper talk! Until we are offered a solid return for said players then I'm afraid the success or failure of their original fee (and thus our transfer policy) still hangs VERY much in the balance! ?
22.) 19 May 2022 23:59:58
Were they not Ed, I stand corrected. Just had a look and seen that Eze was the season before (fair point:) and Olise was four days after Viera, so technically he was in fact Vieras first signing! But I accept that as it was only four days before (with the time transfers take) it was no doubt happening WAY before Viera was en route so I get your point ?
Either way their recruitment in the last two seasons has been excellent! They've taken an ageing relegation treated team and made a decent (relitively young) and exciting team! I remember hearing that the seaon Hodgson left they would only have (I think it was) 9 first team players on the books! We ain't going to be far off that and I suppose the point I was making was weather it was Viera or the back room team Palace chose to see a rebuild as an opportunity and now look a LOT better for it! We need to do something similar, let's hope our back room team is up to it! ??
{Ed001's Note - yes mate, I agree it has been very good. Vieira has benefitted from it, but he has not got them any further up the league for all the plaudits he is getting.}
23.) 20 May 2022 08:03:23
Hi Tommo if reports about crystal Palace will happen of which I believe you think or know will happen how much do you think we will get for MGW?
24.) 20 May 2022 08:55:57
MGW felt that his opportunities at Wolves were limited, as was proved correct, given limited use after Swansea recall. There was nothing that made him think that a change of management would bring a change in practice; picking Portuguese players ahead of home-grown talent.
Whether or not this was the reality is neither here nor there. It was his perception and he believed he would have more opportunities elsewhere. Crystal Palace would appear to be an option that would support the above, as Vieirinha is building a team with young homegrown talent, whereas our reported targets appear to be from abroad.
I am not criticising our policy, simply pointing out that it can very easily dishearten our U23 players, if they don’t see a route into the first team.
25.) 20 May 2022 09:36:41
Your not wrong Bully's, but my point was more of an expression of how far Wolves have come under Fosun. Wolves transfer dealings have got to where we are, competing regularly in the top half of the Premier League. Therefore, our players become noticed more across Europe and inevitably interest will be forthcoming, particularly as their contracts start to reach the two years left stage.
Some players will get bought in as 'ones for the future' and probably show a profit on the purchase price if sold but established players who cost top dollar won't, so it's a mixture.
For me, the jury's out on the current 'top table' in terms of transfers but maybe this forthcoming window with financial constraints more relaxed will tell us more.
26.) 20 May 2022 09:47:16
Theres a reality here, u23 div1 contain the academies of all the EPL top 6 and Leicester in the top 8 Palace are the only other side in the top 8 with Brighton 9th (strong correlation with the EPL!) As we all know we are in a promotion playoff to div1. So our u23 side currently hasn't been competing with the top 6 at the level they are at now. To me its not surprising Nuno and now Bruno weren't prepared to take many risks as our 1st team squad doesn't have the depth to eliminate mistakes a young player might make. We need to get to u23 div1 asap IMO to see just how good the setup is and then review our u23 strategy and how we implement it. The whole MGW thing suggests to me that the plug the gaps with kids isn't working as we had hoped.
27.) 20 May 2022 10:31:37
Palace may have improved significantly under Viera but, despite our relegation form of the past two months, they will still finish below us. The reasons for our dire end to the season are blindingly obvious to me and in the following order, (1) Kilman out, (2) Semedo out, (3) Traore gone, (4) Sicknote, sorry Podence, hardly being available (5) No goalscoring forwards. (5) has been the case all season and needs addressing as the other four should get resolved.
28.) 20 May 2022 11:14:11
Hi Phil, the fee mentioned would be between £20-25m I believe but other clubs are interested so Wolves may want a bidding war. However, he has agreed personal terms with CP.
my source on this, the training ground bust up and the players stance on the support Ukraine day in Feb/March is the same person. Obviously I won’t name them but they are present everyday and best man is on the recruitment side too.
He says they are analysing hundreds of players every week and lots of focus on South America but only Sellers, Lage and Shi are involved in negotiations so everyone else is totally unaware of signings until they are virtually done. Any press stories come from other clubs, players or agents.
I only post stuff I’m told by him as I know it is factual.
Hope you are well Phil, enjoy reading your posts as you and Jaz M usually talk common sense. ?
29.) 20 May 2022 14:22:37
Great reply Tommo I wasn't thinking 20 to 25 million that's fantastic.
I think the same for you Tommo as you think of Jas and myself?
All is good and well thanks another working week done oh yeah lol.
I do have full faith in the project with fosun but being honest the run in this season has knocked the wind out of my sails but I get my mind on thinking all the huge obstacles that we have come through since the start of the pandemic the lockdown of no fans global football finances severely dented our injuries our change of manager our Miss firing players in front of goal all this and we end up this season in the top ten so that's good.
You informing me of MGW price tag for 20 million plus we can use that money to get a top player that fits lage's needs.
We will all be waiting to see who we buy this summer transfer window so that's the only top top exciting thing happening in the close season as world cup in the winter.
Up the mighty wolves.
30.) 21 May 2022 09:14:05
If the reported fee for mgw is correct, and that money was used to get say sanches or palhinha, would anybody object?
I certainly wouldn't.
31.) 21 May 2022 21:41:22
To be honest Big I'd rather have both, although I suspect the ship may have sailed with both (Sanches had reported interest from Arsenal). We need both because we need a squad, until that happens we will keep seeing a collapse of form at the same time every season! Saddly I actually think Tommo is probs on the money with MGW. Lage has made it pretty clear that he wanted him to stay and then that he wanted to recall him. As much as I want him to have another crack it can't be argued that he doesn't seem keen to play for us. It's a shame cause I think there's player there and we NEED homegrown talent! As we've seen with Fabio it's much harder to import homegrown talent cause you can't loan um out until they are 21 by which time its to late! Let's just see but like I said I hope MGW doesn't become 'one that got away'! ?
14 Jun 2021 12:28:12
Hi. I know I always see rumours on here where the person says they have heard it confirmed that this or that is going to happen. Well I have info from the Security guards at Compton. Neves def Arsenal for £35 million and (as we know ) our stopper is off to Roma.
1.) 14 Jun 2021 13:06:54
The security guard on the outside. How would they know?
2.) 14 Jun 2021 15:50:12
may be someone told him, verbally. Don't shoot the messenger. It could be a load of rubbish.
3.) 14 Jun 2021 18:06:00
Smell that it smells a bit like bs to me, I highley doubt the security guard would know.
No pop at you goggs mate you're just passing on what you got told.
4.) 14 Jun 2021 20:06:00
Good to hear neves ain't been that good if can get 40_50 million for him happy days should be able to get upgrade on him and change.
5.) 14 Jun 2021 21:45:46
I'm not shooting the messenger. I just don't understand how the security guard outside would know. 😃.
6.) 14 Jun 2021 21:49:17
Plus Rui to Roma isn't a simple deal. Roma have to get there accounts in order as well. Will they want to invest in an over 30 player? Obviously what Jose wants is a completely different matter.
Same with Neves if Neves wants to leave I can't see wolves chaining him to Compton and releasing him for matches. 45 is triple what wolves paid for him plus that's 4 Pedro Neto. 😂 I think Neves will stay unless he has European football offer.
7.) 15 Jun 2021 07:47:54
The phrase a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush comes to mind. This easy to say but v hard to do upgrading for less money is a lovely idea but the history of clubs selling diamonds and buying several lumps of coal is long and wide.
Liverpool succeded with Coutinho but Shearer for Dixon and Speedie or Bale for lots of players only 1 of which, Ericksen, was a success, are much better examples.
Would you rather have Jota or Hoever and Silva or perhaps Jota or Vitor, RAN and Marcal. Each of these swaps balance out and don't have a balance. They also almost certainly increase the wage bill as well.
Before we sell our better players be careful what you are wishing for. We many not see their like again!
8.) 15 Jun 2021 11:56:49
The Bale comparison is a little unfair. They brought 7 players 6 of them played a role in Spurs success over the last 7 years. Mainly champions league football and finals. Levy is the main protagonist at spurs. He puts more pressure on the manager and players. Maybe being a fan of the club you own is a hindrance. Spurs just chase vanity projects every few years they need a stadium to compete with arsenal. When they should have saved some money and spent a fraction of that money on two or three players and won something.
Just saw the gossip on BBC that Leicester are close to signing soumare from lille. I am sure wolves put a bid in for 40m in 2019. Wonder why he didn't fancy it.
9.) 15 Jun 2021 12:50:54
Strange how when any of our players are linked with moves away some fans start pointing out that “he isn’t that good anywayâ€, last season was an injury hit nothing of a season where Nuno decided to play mainly negative football through necessity rather than choice, to criticise him or the players for the situation the found themselves in is a little unfair, we’re still in the Premier League which was an achievement in itself, should’ve been ready to go again in a few weeks time, but for some unknown reason, it wasn’t to be and the Club took a giant step backwards.
10.) 15 Jun 2021 13:12:59
Madman - I'm not a spurs fan so can't really comment in detail and frankly wouldn't argue with you if you said it was a good or bad deal.
I made it they bought 8 in and 5 were gone (at a loss) within 2 years Fryers, Soldado, Chirches, Capoue and Paulinho. don't think Nacir Chadli lasted much longer leaving Ericksen a clear succes and Lamela still there but v ordinary?
The obvious one for Wolves fans would be the sale of Robbie Keane in 1999. We bought 6 players and Akinbiyi and Oakes could be said to have been ok or even better but Keane, well he was a bit better than ok wasn't he?
If we hadn't sold him maybe a front pair of Bull and Keane would have brought Prem football a lot earlier than we eventually got it?
The point I'm making though is that it isn't easy to sell high and buy low. We are arrogant if not foolish to think we can do it consistently and if even half the rumours coming out about the club are true then seemingly this summer we are planning to do it more than once!
11.) 15 Jun 2021 13:43:43
The future is old gold. You aren't wrong. As I said those players were important at the time. Chadli, Eriksson and Lamela were important signings at the time. Obviously how can they replace Bale though? 😂 As I said in previous post they just needed to make a sensible plan and stick with a manager. But they did it the Spurs way.
I understand what your saying with Keane could say the same for Lescott and build a team around both players. However we do do have links with Mendes these days. Apart from that first transfer window when they had two weeks to find a manager and 12 players. How many players haven't been a success? Surely it's good that Goncalves won the portugese league this season. Mir had a terrific season in Spain. Just shows what Fosun are building both with the first team and academy for the club overall.
I'd trust the club to reinvest 60m from some sales this summer for Bruno. But I reckon there is a larger fund available.
They are selling well and buying even better players. To think a Barcelona right back is playing for Wolves. I understand the defensive issues but his forward interplay with an unsettled team was good for his first season in the prem.
To think a top 20 wonder kid has moved to wolves.
Let's get behind them and see what they can deliver this summer.
12.) 15 Jun 2021 14:51:16
I got nothing against neves he has done well for 3 years and OK the 4th and yeah I thought after jimenz injury we would struggle and I'm happy we stayed in the Premiership but if we get 40_50 million for neves you trying to tell me we can't upgrade him on that? I think you forgot how much we payed for him a 3x profit if get nearer the 50 million which is exactly what FOSUN do and do it good we had 4 years out of him and brought some excellent football at times but if you can't see that then all I can say is "YOU SHOULD OF GONE TO SPECSAVERS"
13.) 15 Jun 2021 15:01:47
Madman - good post!
I really hope you are correct on all counts and will - as we all have done for more years than I can count in my case and in far worse circumstances ( Div 4 springs to mind! ) - get behind whatever is done and whoever is wearing the shirt!
Up until last summer I wouldn't have even blinked at the statements you made as we were going in the right direction and v fast!
But as I have said numerous times (and Oxley expresses the same view above) I do think we massively messed up last summer and whilst I am perfectly happy with Semedo, (not quite as much a you are though? ) the "Wonder Kid is def not "top of my pops" or even top 20 and I fear won't be any time soon - v v hope i'm wrong as we are v committed to him (transfer fee and wages! ) .
14.) 15 Jun 2021 15:51:57
Giant - Could and perhaps should if we get £50m but Silva £35m and Vitor £20m on last year's form aren't fit to lace his boots. Do that again and we are relegated.
15.) 15 Jun 2021 16:16:03
Nothing wrong with changing the bath water now and again to freshen it up. I just hope when you chuck the bath plug away as well you need to be certain you get the right one to replace it. On that we will have to wait and see. I very much hope that Jeff has got this right because if not as we know getting to this point wasn't a quick or easy journey!
16.) 15 Jun 2021 19:06:06
No I agree silva we brought because shi think he is a very special player and could be a diamond in the rough he wasn't brought to play but to learn from jimenz and watch how he plays and were he puts him self IMO he needs a season in championship and get goals and do the movement he needs to best help the team but time will tell and shi was bold enough to pay price and he has more money in bank than I'll ever have so I'll leave that up to the professionals they don't get there status for no reason FOSUN ain't no mugs so TRUSTINFOSUN.
17.) 15 Jun 2021 21:26:32
Giant Silva has more money in the bank than virtually any 19 year old. Wolves seemingly no longer do though as seen by our statements re having to sell to buy.
But Fosun are as you say defintely no mugs, you don't run a multi billion conglomerate without being v v switched on.
However the evidence would seem to point to Shi being a prize one and as I wrote earlier if Lage isn't an immediate success he won't be able to blame Nuno again for his failings and will be promoted to that job in Juneau.
18.) 15 Jun 2021 22:25:15
thfutureisoldgold. If he has got it wrong baked Alaska will probably be the least of his worries!
19.) 15 Jun 2021 23:13:20
Future I think that we all new that FOSUN like to buy players devolpe them and when they get to numbers like 40_50 million sell and go buy similar players devolpe them get them playing week in week out and sell for 3x what we payed so at some point we are going to lose 1 or 2 stars the main thing is getting them off wage budget and making 3x what they paid for instance if both traore and neves are sold and say we get 90_100 million and fosun invest that money in the team and get the money no players at make weight straight cash I pretty sure we will be getting players in and going by fosun usual deals be at least 3x 30 million players with potential to be sold 3_4 years down the line at 70_80 million and repeat process as I've said many times FOSUN brought us out of dark days and brought exciting football so until that declines I have every faith that they now what they are doing and are still as committed as they always have been few will have surprises after this euros and we will all love them again some used to still being let down by former owners promising us the world and delivering nothing FOSUN set a plan and will stick to it as they say Rome wasn't built in a day but then again I wasn't on that project LOL.
20.) 15 Jun 2021 23:25:52
G.a.g I hope very much you are right in your trust in Fosun. I remain to be convinced that this is the right way to go and I'm not saying that for any other reason than I'm just reserving my opinion for the time being. I didn't do handstands when Nuno came in so I'm not about to now. Managers earn loyalty and respect by the performance of the team on the pitch.
I hope he is brilliant I really do for us all. We shall find out over the coming months. I think we may be in for a few more shocks yet and I'm ignoring all the speculation because that's all it is. Facts and actions are more important. I thought his arrival was far to low key an interview with the press should have happened instead they just kept their heads down!
21.) 16 Jun 2021 21:36:37
Giant I am certainly not going to argue with you if you and everyone else knew what Fosun's strategy was/ is. As I see it the only player we have sold for anything like that sort of sum was Jota and he wasnt sold in my view due to some cunning plan but because he was the 4th ranked wide player behind Podence, Neto and Traore and so was unlikely to get many minutes on the pitch.
When someone offers 35% of your annual turnover for a reserve player it is madeness to turn it down.
However I am highly sceptical that Silva, the player bought to replace him, is ever going to be worth £105m, ie 3x £35m, indeed today I am far from certain we would get anything like the £35m we paid for him!
But its a v nice idea and as you say Fosun have done us proud - even 13th in the Prem is amazing from where we were.
For me though in the summer of 2019 I was hoping the upward trajectory would continue but ever since Shi has taken sole control - sacking Dalrymple and Thelwell who over saw the uptick - its all been downhill and it is now essential that this disappointing trend is reversed or we will struggle this year.
Fingers crossed that Shi has learnt his lessons!
22.) 16 Jun 2021 22:08:30
future. It would be nice if he was as good as he thinks he is frankly . The current connection to this 20 yer old lad is a start but he's hardly likely to have the experience required to be anything other than a bench warmer for while anyway. Not many of that age are Premier ready. On a positive to take a chance for 5-6 million I wise the Silva money last year was nuts and so far is being pr4oved to be.
23.) 16 Jun 2021 22:31:50
Summer 2020 sorry!
24.) 17 Jun 2021 02:56:31
Ken when I read your posts they alwways seem so reasonable but when I read mine back I sound like a right old ranter!
25.) 17 Jun 2021 09:32:48
future. I usually, when reading my own later on think I bet he's a right miserable old git then I realise it was my post. Repent at leisure as they say! On the subject of being a misery it's lovely today, so much cooler, I can't take the heat anymore used to love it!
26.) 17 Jun 2021 10:54:42
Ken as you can tell from the time stamp it was a long and heavy day yesterday - far too hot and thus .
Today its been raining hard though so been round checking all the water butts and filling buckets and watering cans as well ready for the next hot dry spell!
27.) 17 Jun 2021 14:06:27
Yesterday was tough, the heat and air quality took it out of me. I was still up and about at 2am before I gave in and closed the windows. The downside of Oakham is being on the freight railway line from the Midlands to Harwich/ Felixstowe. A lot of which moves at night. Passenger services are quite light hourly during the day on the Birmingham/ Leicester to Cambridge/ Stansted route and a couple of London trains a day. So hot weather is a mare overnight.

I saw a comment on here a week ago referring to value of Wolves to Fosun and it made a very good point that a Wolves team in the championship is worth a lot less than one in the Premiership. Jeff is obviously aware of this, especially given that however shambolic the transfer window was it was Jeff "pulling his finger out" in the realisation that their investment could be worth a lot less than a few months. So as we already know Fosun and Jeff are naive as far as running a football club is concerned.
1.) 07 Nov 2025 13:14:30
The concept of 'face' is very important in China, as a symbol of respect, honour and social standing. To be relegated from the PL would be disgrace and dishonour. Jeff, you will lose so much more than your job if you can't save Wolves.
13 Aug 2025 16:12:51
By selling Ben Lyne, they've started selling the family silver.
1.) 13 Aug 2025 17:13:26
Yep, I remember taking the mickey out of Albion fans when the Chinese bloke that owned them started selling off memorabilia, can see some of our museum pieces ending up for sale soon
2.) 13 Aug 2025 18:16:23
At the end ofthe day vp got us out of the mire last season
If we are bottom come xmas ( which I think we will be ) he won't be saving us this time, we aren't currently good enough, to last in prem,
And now there putting us off till september time to get people in
Stringing the fans along again
13 Aug 2025 12:43:24
By selling Ben Lyne, they've started selling the family silver.
1.) 13 Aug 2025 14:32:51
Yep. Anything now or anyone. There will be nothing left to sell soon. It's like watching someone break into your home and steal all your prized assets in slow motion, but your helpless to act. It's becoming very painful.
2.) 13 Aug 2025 15:44:22
That's reminded me, we bought the lad southerland from Scottish team last year, I've seen him a couple of time in U21s, anyone know of his development?
3.) 13 Aug 2025 20:42:13
In fairness what choice do they have? It's an unprotected contract so if they don't sell it'll go to tribunal and we'll get about £2.50 for a player we've spent years developing! It's not a Wolves problem it's a football problem and it's just wrong! All part of a rigged system all set up to ensure the big clubs remain the biggest clubs, I really am quite sick of footy at this stage and the season ain't even started yet! ?
{Ed001's Note - but you do get a cut of any future transfer fee under FIFA regs. 5% of each transfer fee is split between those clubs which developed him until he reached the age of 18. If he only spent time in your academy, you will get 5% of every future transfer fee. There is not a lot more they can do to protect the investment. As for Parish, he is just a whiny prick who can't admit his own failings and so blames everything on everyone else. I mean it is hardly UEFA's fault that his club didn't fill out the paperwork they knew that they were required to submit. Funny how when Everton and Forest were punished it was 'rules are rules' but now it is his club he throws his toys out of the pram.}
4.) 13 Aug 2025 22:24:04
Haha, I actually agree about Parish (generally) but that issue (euro place) wasn't what I was referencing. It was after they had youngsters poached for buttons and he (rightly) pointed out that youth development really isn't worth the investment because all your REALLY doing is uneathing talent for the bigger clubs! And yes I understand that you get a (tiny) percentage of future fees but what does that REALLY mean to a small club?! If Ben Lyne goes on to be a top level player (unlikely) then we might see some return but if not then we don't see anything beyond the nominal fee! Whereas for a club like us he could have been HUGE! So basically the club that found and develop him get a token gesture while the biggest clubs continue to just hover up the best talent, how does that genuinely incentivise smaller clubs to invest in youth?! The one thing they could do is have tribunals that set decent fees but they generally don't, which is why most clubs are forced to cut a deal because they know that if it goes to tribunal they get buttons regardless of the quality of the player involved! Like most things in football it's all set up for the big clubs with no regard for the smaller ones! ?
{Ed001's Note - a lot of the issues were caused by the smaller clubs forcing transfer windows into the English game. Suddenly the bigger clubs needed bigger squads, as they couldn't just buy when they needed to or when someone at a smaller club stood out. So they started stockpiling talent and then spread it to the youth academy too, as it is so difficult to let them develop and then buy them. It also makes it difficult to develop youngsters as there are now 2 players for every position ahead of them. Personally I would ban transfers of under 18s. It just shouldn't be allowed to traffic in children. Then re-open the windows so teams can get kids in the team without needing to worry that if the kid doesn't work out you are f**ked. You can then go and get someone via transfers, rather than stockpiling players just in case. It also makes it easier for smaller clubs to hold onto youngsters, as they know they can get in the team and if they play well the big clubs will buy them.
The minute the transfer window was introduced, clubs like Crewe, who relied on their academy to produce the team, dropped down the divisions. They were a steady, if struggling, Championship team, now they can barely cope in League 1.}
5.) 13 Aug 2025 22:29:13
Or how about 5% for every year spent in the academy, meaning that those that have spent longer could have up to 25% sell on by the time they are poached (and it is poaching)? Just a thought cause at the moment the system (like most of footys rules) only works for a small handful the biggest clubs ?
{Ed001's Note - not a bad idea. I still think it should just be banned altogether.}
6.) 13 Aug 2025 23:18:28
Now your talking Ed, would definitely agree with banning it altogether! Like you say it's actually quite grotesque to think that a 15 year has that on his shoulders now! Dream a dream but unlikely to ever happen, like most things just too much money in it! ?
{Ed001's Note - it is wrong and always has been. So many shady deals involving parents that have destroyed their kid's career for greed.}
11 Aug 2025 15:40:51
I have to say, here in Somerset things are not looking Rosie even through cider goggles. I really hope this is one of those moments where suddenly four top players ( who strangely don't care if they don't win a trophy, eh Jeff, ) are reported to be on their way for a medical.
1.) 11 Aug 2025 16:46:29
More chance of finding shergar with lord lucan on its back
2.) 11 Aug 2025 18:28:44
Anyone they do get now will be purely a panic buy. Ability not important just someone to make the numbers up. I honestly think VP realizes this but his hands are tied. He said last season points first and then pints. He could end up teetotal this season!
31 Jul 2025 21:09:04
I see comments about the lack of players and in the same breath a comment supporting getting rid of certain players. Selling players before we have replacements has got us into this situation where we only have a probable relegation battle to look forward to.
Players like Doyle, Silva etc may not be of the standard we THINK we should have but at the moment we are an average team and a player like Doyle is better than a bodge job of swapping players around into unfamiliar positions.
1.) 31 Jul 2025 22:42:55
I don't disagree with players like Doyle, Silva and Guedes, they all can play a part at this level. Silva and Guedes probably want away anyway but the Doyle one is a head scratcher. Johnstone wants regular first team football and Bentley is not good enough.
However, Fosuns policy is to sell first, buy later because until these players are off the books replacements won't be signed. They won't risk it.
2.) 01 Aug 2025 08:13:35
We have a new signing, he is having his medical Friday, this has caught out the so called in the know vloggers.
3.) 01 Aug 2025 09:34:23
At last a new signing ?. Baza, those in the know appear to not, I made the mistake of believing them.
Did see somewhere where they say they are confident of signing both a RWB, LWB, midfielder and striker, think we need more but any quality additions are welcome and required.
4.) 01 Aug 2025 09:37:25
Yes baza, we heard nothing from sports mole, Molineux mix, sports insider etc I guess their 'sources' just missed this one ???
5.) 01 Aug 2025 10:49:14
No one on here is "in the know". They just like to think they are our source of knowledge. Really SAD.
6.) 01 Aug 2025 11:19:10
Moller Wolfe was doing the rounds about 5/6 weeks ago then went off the radar.
02 Nov 2025 22:20:41
I suppose I hope he will come. The question is will the management ( I use the term loosely) tell it like it is and not lie to the next lucky punter. Rogers could domineer Jeff.
29 Jul 2025 13:28:44
No wonder he cheered up recently.
27 Jul 2025 10:45:39
Wolves must stand firm on this. He's not for sale! I'm not surprised that JS leant about football from a computer game.
26 Jul 2025 08:36:38
If all the transfer rumours are true Guides maybe the only player left., ?
25 Jul 2025 17:57:56
I agree with above comments. I have decided to ignore them before I lose my hair. Surely Fosun can't be so stupid as to sell anymore key players
04 Nov 2025 19:11:25
Big Sam. It's a perfect situation for him. And his age is irrelevant.
03 Nov 2025 09:18:11
Evidence that GON would be the worst possible candidate. Which means he's hot favourite. Joking apart, if he was given the job it proves Fosun are the worst possible owners.
26 Aug 2025 14:26:16
A goal would be nice
10 Jul 2025 16:45:37
Good enough for Ajax but not for Wolves? After watching the Jeff Shi interview I'm not surprised.
06 Feb 2025 12:31:16
I suppose I would take him, but the scenario if we go down is more likely to be Cunha leaves and we have to scrape around for a striker who is prepared to play in the Championship.
