An abiding memory from eight/nine years ago, was going to Wolves training ground one Saturday morning, specifically to watch an ex-student, who was a first year academy scholar at the time. They were playing Manchester Utd. I didn’t arrive until half-time and as I approached the entrance, the steward said, ”I wouldn’t bother mate. They are already losing 6 nil.
I watched the second half which I think we drew one or two each. The parity was not due to a big improvement by us but the wastefulness of the United strikers. The game was dominated by United’s midfield two.
A physically imposing Tahith Chong and even more impressively by the dilutive Angel Gomes. Despite his lack of inches, which is a big thing in youth football, he totally ran the game. Getting and giving early progressive passes. It was on a par with an equally impressive Spurs 16 year old I had seen decades earlier in a Youth Cup game: Glen Hoddle.
It didn’t surprise me when Alex Ferguson gave Gomes a a first team debut later that same season. I have followed his career in Portugal and France ever since. Will provide the creativity we so badly need.

To update the transfer situation, so far (28.Jan), Lopez, Munetsi and Hoever have departed.
Sa, Johnstone, Hugo Bueno, Wolfe, Larsen, Joao Gomes, Andre and Agbadou are being targetted and now Enso Gonzalez has been put up for sale, Tchatchoua is also available.
Incomings, well all sorts of reports but whether any materialise only time will tell but here's what I have read:
Otole, FC Basel (winger), Adjetey also FC Basel (defender), Mehmett, Bristol City (midfielder), Gomes, Marseille (midfielder) and Sinayoko, Auxerre (striker).

I think this window is the perfect storm of all worst cases. Not staying up or even within a realistic chance of doing so, so no one wants to come. Players been moved on are mainly the summer signings showing what a disaster the previous window was. January is a nightmare to sign anyone decent in at the best of times, but the club have nothing worth offering.
I wouldn't be surprised if no one comes in this window. It's a case of clear out anyone they can to get some cash in, write off the end of the season and then cobble something together for next season. I can see players coming in pre season, but not for big money.
Serious questions need answering about the failure to sign any premier league experience in the summer. Also why so few of our youth prospects make the first team or go out on loan and seem to come back regressing as players and not improving.

What we needed was Premier league standard players irrespective of whether they'd actually played in it or not. Most have fallen well short.

So Wolves are planning to target players who are sitting on the sidelines, not playing but want to go to the World Cup.
If they will come to Molineux could depend on how they feel about joining a club heading for the Championship and if they would be happy to have that on their cv's?
Wolves desperately need PL experienced players but who and what could be the cost plus would Fosun be prepared to spend the money or sell to buy as usual?

Liam Keen on 'Molineux News' has suggested that a restructuring may again take place following the exit of Dominico Teti and if that should be the case then I suggest that Dougie Freedman ex of Crystal Palace should be offered the position.
Currently in Saudi Arabia at second division club Al-Diriyah, he would offer more experience and certainly more knowledge on both transfers and recruitment which has failed over recent seasons.
He did a very good job at Palace bringing in players such as Gallagher and Guehi from Chelsea and Olise from Reading plus he was instrumental in bringing current coach Glasner to the club.

Realistcally Wolves MUST sell their most valuable players in January or risk their values dropping once relegation is confirmed and that is getting closer with every game.
Bring in bench warmers or squad players to see the season out until the Summer when serious signings can be made with the money obtained.
That will mean Joao Gomes, Andre, Larsen and Arias being sold and Krejci released, who is only on loan, to save his salary.
The others who are left will have to carry on until the Summer when a clearout is possible with just probably Doherty, Arokodare, Mane, Hoever etc left plus a number of newcomers arriving at Molineux.
Who, from where and if having any British experience will be down to the transfer team who surely must get it right this time?

Palace taking Guessand from Villa on loan instead.
Leeds won't pay 40m and Wolves won't take less but come the Summer Wolves will have to take less as Larsen or anyone else won't be worth anywhere near the current values come relegation time.
Difficult to see how selling now or later can benefit Wolves.
Sell now and leave the squad short of numbers and probably fail to beat the lowest PL points record OR wait and lose those decent fees in the Summer!

Arddunby 1 - Not all players show their best in training but do so on the pitch but it seems coaches are reluctant to take that chance.
Tolu has been showing his willingness to get involved in the cameos and the news that he wasn't fit has been the excuse used but now he's showing what the side has been missing, something which Larsen is still not doing!
