Celtic have stopped chasing Toth at Blackburn, turning their attention to Sam Johnstone.
1.) 01 Sep 2026 09:15:48
Let's hope that one goes through.

Wolves reject £30m offer for Krejci from Real Sociadad according to Fabrizio Romano.
1.) 01 Aug 2026 08:00:27
Was nowhere near the £30m we rejected, between EUR13m rising to EUR17m with add-ons.
2.) 01 Aug 2026 10:21:10
This is v worrying?
Wolves can't shift the deadwood, so to meet SCR rules might have to sell the only quality players left.
Selling two of your 3 best players - Gomes and Krejci - and only replacing them with 2, albeit excellent, pros at the end of their careers, probably means the side will be significantly weaker than last season.
Surely they can't be so stupid, as this would almost certainly end any lingering hopes of promotion and may lead to far worse!
Sadly, it is time to face reality of the situation and cut the prices on the deadwood to get them gone - the fees paid are sunk costs, and although some of these might incur losses, the huge profits on JSL and Gomes alone more than cover any PSR worries.
If PSR is even measured anymore?
However, losing their wages and amort is still v valuable, if not essential for SCR - the new rule Wolves have to abide by.
Re cash, having sold so many players in Jan and Gomes this summer, (plus whatever is raised from the deadwood sales), there should be - although with the level of losses Wolves incur, and maybe did again between Jan and now, you can't be sure - no immediate cashflow concerns?
Sorry to once again be talking finance, but it is unfortunately the principal driver of any football club's prospects - ask Eddie Howe!
3.) 01 Aug 2026 10:39:10
The overall problem is Fosun. Until they make concerted efforts to sell up and go, Wolves will struggle.
4.) 01 Aug 2026 12:00:14
Fosun leaving will be a joyous day.
5.) 01 Aug 2026 12:35:59
Wolves struggled for decades before Fosun came along. Will the next owner be any better? The system is almost fixed in favour of the top six.
6.) 02 Aug 2026 21:01:32
I don't think the deadwood is an issue as we sold Arias, Agbadou, Larsen and Gomes for £100 approx.
Salaries of Raul and Trippier may be £4m combined with signing fees. Even if you increase that figure by £2m, it would be low. Said cost £13m, on around £30k per week.
So combined the three signings have cost us £22m-£25m for fees and salary for the season.
This also doesn't include parachute money, which may be held back, so we have funds if we go back up.
So we can sign the players we need, but we are slow.
The main obstacle, looking at the squad, is the homegrown rule, as we don't have many experienced players that are homegrown apart from Bentley, H Bueno and Armstrong at the moment.
7.) 02 Aug 2026 21:59:32
Did Said cost 13mil? Thought he was under 10mil. Agree with everything u said, though we have money there, just don't seem to be parting with it for some reason.
8.) 03 Aug 2026 20:45:05
Tbf, mate, I'd always take the transfer fees and salaries with a little flexibility. Plus, there's the signing on fees and agent fees.
I'd say Said is on around £30k-£50k a week, so £2.6m salary per year, with bonus extra if he is on £50k a week.
Trippier and Raul are harder. Probs signing on fee worth £2-3m, then £70k-£90k a week.
If they were both on £90k a week, that's £4.6m a year each.
So, Said £13m (although signing fee probably split over contract), then £6m for Trips and Raul, and £9m for salary.
So, at a maximum it's £28m. Fans can look at the lowest possible cost, mid-range, and highest. I tend to go with the highest, as it will probably be lower, but don't know for certain.
My point was more, because of the sales, we can still invest in the players we need.
Cb loan
CM- signing
FW- Signing
FW-Loan
Can still have 5 loans, which is worth bearing in mind.
9.) 03 Aug 2026 21:53:40
I get ya, nice 1. Sorry, mate, I get uv added in signing on fee wages etc.
08 Nov 2025 13:14:54
Rob Edwards given permission to speak to Wolves??????
1.) 08 Nov 2025 16:42:44
Well it appears that Rob wants the job, he's local, it's his club as a supporter, so I'm sure he fully understands the situation he's taking on. It could go either way, what experience did Nuno have, who had heard of him, similarly Zenga.
One worked the other didn't. The biggest issue I see in the short term is language barriers. Dreaming here but Joao Moutinho as a coach/interpreter!
2.) 09 Nov 2025 14:23:46
Its not even a similar comparison.
Nuno had won leagues with Porto and managed in the champions league.
I wish Rob the best of luck.
Revert to a back 5 focus on clean sheets and get the players with pace in the squad. 10 points by January might keep us in touching distance.
Sign Christensen (Loan), Mingueza, Pubill (Loan), Elliott (Loan) and Poku.
Bring Doyle back.
3.) 09 Nov 2025 20:05:10
Nuno was fired from Porto after one season after finishing second. He was also fired after one season at Valencia after finishing 4th with questions asked at the time about the size of transfer fees being payed for players who were clients of Jorge Mendes.
In his second season at Rio Ave he took them into the europa league.

4.) 11 Nov 2025 12:28:40
Ahh my bad Arddunby getting mixed up with Lage and VP.
5.) 11 Nov 2025 17:29:38
Hopefully Rob Edwards can galvanise the players and we'll see an upturn in performances and a more attacking team. If we go down, at least we've got a manager who knows how to get promoted.
18 Aug 2025 17:31:34
Crystal Palace interested in season long loan for Hwang Hee-chan according to The Sun with potential of the young winger we are alleged to be interested in, coming our way.
1.) 18 Aug 2025 18:40:56
I assume that's Jesurun Sakyi. That deal might actually make sense if it's season loan with obligation to buy in both directions. They desperately need a central forward and we get big wages off our books.
2.) 18 Aug 2025 20:33:39
Let him go to palace get Alexander mitroVic in from Saudi he only has year left on contract
3.) 18 Aug 2025 22:22:28
I believe the term for hwang is I’ll drive him there myself
4.) 19 Aug 2025 07:52:38
Matt Hobbs is new Palace Sporting Director. Hwang move will be his proposal. Will be interesting to see how that turns out and also which players he identifies for Palace in remainder of the window. Rumoured to have wanted us to go for Bournemouth’s David Brooke’s but not fancied by Perreira. I think I am with Hobbs on this one.
5.) 19 Aug 2025 08:30:31
I hope he does take Hwang from us. Frees up a space for someone who can actually contribute something to the team. Apart from that little purple patch 2 seasons ago, he's done nothing for the club.
6.) 19 Aug 2025 08:43:15
David Brooke's won't come he is from Southampton and Bournemouth is the perfect club right now.
Unless he has been told he isn't needed.
7.) 19 Aug 2025 20:05:55
Wasn’t suggesting he’d come to Wolves, simply pointing out that Hobb’s was keen to pursue an interest, whilst manager didn’t fancy him. Just an aside but Brooks is from Warrington and his first first team outings were for Sheffield Utd. Wolverhampton is a lot closer to home than Bournemouth!

Extremely surprised after all the rumours tonight’s team is the same as against Stoke. Krejci and Santi on the bench. Phew!!!!. ?
1.) 01 Sep 2026 19:49:18
Cesar Peixoto deserves the freedom of the City, as he's somehow managed to move Hwang on.
19 Aug 2026 12:29:27
How about Nwaneri - Arsenal looking to loan him out? Raul as his mentor - get him in!!!
1.) 19 Aug 2026 15:08:24
Why would he join Wolves, with AC Milan and Gala interested?
2.) 19 Aug 2026 17:18:32
Because Arsenal have stated that they want to keep him in England on loan.
3.) 19 Aug 2026 17:42:40
Good player has great pace.
10 Aug 2026 18:23:15
Latest betting on Jordan James doesn't look good for us. 70% Middlesbrough then West Ham. Wolves not mentioned by Nixon - find it on Google Jordan James!
1.) 10 Aug 2026 20:20:11
If we lose out to West Ham, then fair enough, they have more to offer and have recently banked a fortune. If we miss out to Boro, then questions need to be asked, because this season we should be in a stronger position.
2.) 10 Aug 2026 21:50:01
Penko, bookies odds reflect what people are putting money on, which, in terms of transfers, is often way off what is actually going on in the background. For example, how many bookies had us as favourites to sign Trippier until about 3 days before we did, when it became obvious we were signing him.
Until then it was all about European teams still in, or new to, the Premier League.
3.) 11 Aug 2026 06:36:46
Just reading Boro can't match us and WH for wages. On that front alone, I think WH likely to pip us, sadly.
4.) 11 Aug 2026 08:39:26
As I commented earlier on James, if we are as v keen as a lot suggest on really getting James, then this is a test of how good Nathan, Mgr and the other director are at persuasion and negotiation.
We have enough money, even before more sales they want and need, it's not massive. We can afford it.
Down to the skill to win someone they really want.
We will see if they are up to it.
They did it with Trippier and Raul, but there are quite a few in for this chap... mostly, it seems, our competitors in this league.
And change all those 'nearlys' when we missed out so often in recent times.
29 May 2026 21:15:42
Webster leaving Brighton, we had interest in him previously, worth a punt - good experience and only 31.
1.) 30 May 2026 09:59:08
Webster missed the whole of last season through preseason injury. If he has recovered, he could be an outstanding signing. The Brighton model is one that we would do well to copy. This includes bringing young players through, new signings under the radar, and resurrecting the careers of older signings like Danny Welbeck.
Welbeck was probably thought to be past it when he signed a one-year contract at Brighton in 2020, but look at him now.
2.) 30 May 2026 12:32:29
Bit of a shocker slot been sacked by Liverpool. I wonder who will be their new manager.
3.) 30 May 2026 13:15:34
Boz, they might shock everyone and come in for Re or am I dreaming.
4.) 30 May 2026 13:52:04
Wake up, Dmac, you are dreaming lol.
5.) 30 May 2026 14:44:51
Nuno for Liverpool.
They need solutions.
28 Aug 2025 18:30:45
Newcastle United have signed a centre forward! Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart £60m up front plus £4m add-ons. 6’6 and highly regarded by Bayern Munich.
Hopefully all the JSL talk will subside.
1.) 28 Aug 2025 19:30:24
Let’s just hope this hasn’t upset JSL, he wanted to go and now Newcastle don’t want him,
01 Sep 2026 12:23:00
More guess work! Perhaps he can hitch a lift with Cozier-Duberry.
01 Sep 2026 12:19:35
I can't understand why we continually loan players out. Yesterday we turned down a permanent deal. Today we accepted a loan with an option for sale. Plus, potential figures are kept secret. Is it perhaps the valuation is low? Is it we may want to address the situation when we know our destiny at the end of the season?
The clarity spoken about by Nathan has come to nothing - same old situation, treat the fans like mushrooms, feed them s*** occasionally.
Out of darkness comes more darkness. Will Fosun ever learn?
31 Aug 2026 23:19:33
Add Hugo Bueno to that list.
31 Aug 2026 15:33:15
Ryan Giles is staying at Hull City - reported last night.
30 Aug 2026 19:46:19
FosunProject2ndGen, you make a good point and I forgot that he was previously with Peixoto at Gil Vincente. He knows the manager's style of play, and yes, Cesar could develop him further and mould him into a decent asset for the club. But what value can we put on the respective players? Krejci is versatile and, most of the time, was playing out of position. He's a different player when playing for his country, a leader, and should have been captain last season.
With respect, Pablo was overpriced when West Ham bought him and was under considerable pressure, as scoring goals was a problem and he failed to contribute.
West Ham could use him as a sweetener to reduce Krejci's price, but there has to be a minimum £10m variance in valuation, as I see for the conversation to be viable.
01 Sep 2026 19:46:31
Krejci on the bench tonight - time for the rumourmongers to get off his back. Half of what has been written about him is pure nonsense. Come on Wolves, a win tonight gives us 8 points in front of these Hammers!
01 Sep 2026 14:01:25
Good shout, Chewy. ??
30 Aug 2026 20:00:40
The team sheet on Tuesday will be interesting with all these slightly perturbing rumours going around about Mane, Lopez, Andre, Hugo Bueno and Krejci. If they are all on the team sheet, then we are 90% certain that they are here until January!
30 Aug 2026 19:51:17
Let's hope Tolu keeps banging them in. What is the loan deal? Is there an obligation to buy? If so, how much ££££'s?
28 Aug 2026 10:41:21
With the golden coloured socks.
