Looking forward to the official statement from Matt Jackson and Nathan Shi confirming the reasons why no players were brought in.

Will they say that 8 months simply wasn't enough time to find suitable players. Or will they say that they tried but just couldn't get the deal over the line.



Knowing how Fosun operate, they'll probably say that the plans were hampered as transfer deadline fell on a matchday so the club's hands were tied.

People say all sorts on here, mainly aimed at Fosun. Why spend mega when we got a strong squad to play in the Championship, and we will start to click, as it takes 5 to 10 games to get into it again. I am happy with the squad we got. Players to come back from injury, etc. I am excited about this season.

What Fosun has got to do is get rid of more deadwood in January and replace them, they don't have to spend big. And for people saying Jimenez is slow and past it, rubbish. Armstrong, Mane, etc., will all come good. We never do well at West Ham. You'll see a better, stronger Wolves on Sunday.

Have to agree. I personally think this current team should be capable of automatic promotion. No point in spending loads, and then, come next summer, we aren't able to spend much. It will always be more difficult to draw in good players when you are in the Championship unless you got some good connections. Mendes was behind pretty much everything when we got promoted with Nuno.

We had Champions League players in that team. If Fosun thinks that this team should be fine to get promoted, and that it gives them more spending power come next summer, then I don't see a problem. Raul is not past it, but probably needs a rest, and to come off the bench in the next game. Raul is a clever player off the ball.

So Fosun and co have spent today actually making our squad weaker by letting Hwang (although a poor player, at least he has experience) and Moller Wolfe go and replacing them with no one.

Trying to be somewhat positive in the wake of all the negativity and I get it after today’s performance. However, there were a good amount of time throughout that match where we were the better team and we just couldn’t finish, unfortunately.

Just one of those games. Still so much of the season to go and now I think the defense will be showed up with Bueno and Kreijc staying so that has to be a good thing. I think we will win on Sunday and then when we also get Trippier back that will help big time and then we have the likes of Bellegarde who can definitely do a job at this level two.

So although tonight did not go our way, I’m still trying to be positive for the rest of the season. However, I am Italy dismayed by Matt Jackson, and everything that he said was we’re gonna do at the fence for him. He probably needs to jug on because he has failed big-time.

If we won last night, what would u say on here? I love Wolves till I die. We have got a great set of players, who I think are good enough to get promoted, but in the Premier League it's all about the big teams' big money signings, etc. It's killing the game. You see better football in the Championship. When Sky Sports started, likes of Liverpool were in debt of over 500 million, Man Utd was 700 million in debt, Sky saved them.

Plus, I like to say, over 3 years on, Man City is still not punished. Which teams in the Championship are getting slaughtered? Look at Sheff Weds. Remember Rangers relegated to division 2, they should do the same to City. Getting back to things, bring young players in, like idea of striker from Newcastle, give him a chance and support him. What would people say if he scores 15 goals?

Anyone still hoping Fosun and their employees were telling the truth about this transfer window? The only truth I can see is that nothing has changed in reality, and personally I never expected it to.

I said I would keep my powder dry until the window closes, but I believe that Wolves are in the Championship because that's where Fosun want us to be.

The 'push for promotion' is, and always was, just hot air to keep the gullible onside.
They have no intention of developing the club and never did. In my eyes, they are a sorry joke and need to clear off before the damage is irreparable, if it's not already.

Longmynd, I get that people are disappointed and feel lied to, but honestly to suggest Fosun would prefer to be in Championship is beyond ridiculous given the massive increase in revenue the Premier League provides.

The reality is, when the fans forum was held, Rob Edwards was in charge, and he didn’t want players like Munetsi, Lopez, Doyle, Traore, Sasa, etc. who were out on loan, so of course they were planning to lose them, plus others who wanted to leave, and so would have needed to replace a lot of players.

When they decided to sack Rob and bring in Cesar, this changed, as he assessed the players, including those coming back from loan, and wanted to keep players Rob didn’t, so suddenly we weren’t losing so many, and so in reality with CSR we couldn’t just bring in loads of new players.
I suspect Cesar will be disappointed we haven’t signed a couple more quality attackers, but otherwise the squad is still pretty strong for the Championship despite last night's result.

So, after 8 years of decline, with only one outcome inevitable and nothing done to reverse it, maybe it's not as ridiculous as you imply, Flea.
The introduction of the current transfer policy and the complete lack of any development of the ground and incomes has guaranteed that.
Yes, the Prem brings higher incomes, but also higher costs, wages, transfer fees, etc., which is why, every window, they sold off our best players to subsidise the operating costs. Even with those higher incomes, the books didn't balance, which is not sustainable without further investment, and that's not happening.


Why was European competition, and the initial ambition, effectively abandoned to be replaced by the subsequent decline?
So, managed decline, naivety, gross negligence or incompetence. Personally, I find it hard to believe that the owners of a multi $Bn empire are the latter.
Water will always find its own level, unless it's pumped, of course, and I see no evidence of that, just more of the same old, same old.

Hi Longmynd, I'm not arguing that Fosun's actions didn't make relegation almost inevitable - it was just the statement that they want us to be in the Championship that I dispute, as it makes zero economic sense from their perspective. Yes, costs increase in the Premier League, but revenues far outstrip it. Our issue is we don't just want to maintain the Steve Bull Stand, we want it vastly upgraded, which is a huge cost, so paying for this needs either massive investment from owners, a profit from the playing revenue, or a mix of both.

Currently, I think Fosun aren't prepared to fund this solely themselves, so the rest of the operation needs to run at a profit; hence, with parachute payments and sales, we are in profit despite signings, and a reduced wage bill (although maybe not a dramatically reduced wage bill, given Andre's new contract and what Jimenez and Trippier are likely to be on). I also think the club have been stung in the past by agent fees, whereas this summer we appear to have barely used a certain agent, other than for the manager replacement.

But why else would they continue with a course of action that makes "relegation almost inevitable" if that is the last thing they wanted to happen. Why would they employ a Coach in preparation for the Championship with still 78 points to play for, resignation or design?

Either way, Fosun knew this would happen, but still they did little to stop it, which in my book makes them complicit.

It could be argued that West Ham scored a worldie, a penalty from a diabolical Andre tackle, a goal from a lucky deflection, and a goal from mental, erratic defending, but in truth Wolves were pretty awful in that game. At 4-1, I thought it was going to end up 6-1.

Wolves deserved nothing from that game.

That team in its current guise is going to ship so many goals.

Sorry, folks, but Raul is not Wolves' saviour.

Guy looks knackered. I love Raul, but he's offering almost nothing. He needs a player to play off him, which won't happen due to Peixoto's system and Wolves' unbalanced squad.

Do we all want to see another Fosun Wolves in the Premier League? They can't even get the Championship right.

Lads, we're simply not good enough, are we? Too many poor players in the side, & I question the manager as well for keeping Toti as captain & in the side, & also thinking Armstrong is gonna be our winger, so we stopped looking for one. Something needs to happen, cus at the moment there's more than half the team's in this division more than capable of beating us, including Blues and the undateables down the road.

Sunderland seem to have done things right, and it's heartbreaking to think where we were a short time ago. Not easy supporting Wolves, is it?

Lex, undoubtedly way more than half of the teams are capable of beating us, but also we're capable of beating them - that's the nature of the Championship, hence why it's such a difficult league to get promoted from.

Anyone who thought differently and that we would be way better than nearly all the teams was living in cloud cuckoo land. We will still be one of the favourites for promotion though, as we have some quality players such as Lopez, Raul when his sharpness returns (which I think it will), Mane when he gets used to the physicality and learns to make better decisions, Jordan James, Andre, Krejci now he's staying, S Bueno likewise, Trippier, Armstrong who is great at this level and a proven goal scorer, and others.


Most teams at this level would love a midfield two of Traore and Doyle, and they are our second choices, which is why we're one of the favourites in the division. Take emotion out of the equation, and we undoubtedly have a strong overall squad for this level, but we still need to perform at our best twice a week, week in, week out, for the entire season to be successful.

Wolves get what they deserve. Offered almost nothing going forward. They've come up against a decent team and been beaten. People can argue that West Ham had some lucky goals, but Wolves were lucky not concede more than four.

Raul offered almost nothing. And he has no replacement. Well done Fosun. How is Armstrong Raul's replacement? He's not and never will be. Sadly I can't see Raul getting any better. He's 35 years of age. I'll get shot down for it, but I haven't been impressed with Raul. Hopefully throughout the season Wolves will get 25 penalties.

Armstrong as Raul's replacement is laughable. The guy will barely touch the ball.

The Wolves defence is absolute dross.

West Ham scored a wonder goal, which is one of those things, but Andre's tackle for the penalty was atrocious. When Andre's bad, he's really bad.

The third goal, Sa was too far off his line.

Christ, that defence is going to concede so many goals. When Sa is bad he's monumentally bad. I've never liked Sa. He's too erratic. He loses his head too often.

Wolves have lost their first game. And they were poor. They were lucky not to concede more than four goals. The defence has to be sorted out otherwise they're going to keep shipping goals for fun.

All said and done, Fosun will never learn. I'm almost at the end of the road with Wolves under Fosun. They will never ever learn, and their arrogance and stupidity is staggering.

I like CP but I also blame him. He has obviously succumbed to Fosuns crap transfer window and accepted it, as other previous managers did. Nuno left because the club never backed him and he had the balls to walk away. c'mon happy clappers, defence is awful. Last time in Championship we bought a young Jiménez, now we get an unknown under 21 from Newcastle.

Cracks and papering over spring to mind. No-one with an ounce of intelligence is getting fooled by the start to the season. We play a half decent side, dominate them, then ship in goals like a bunch of Sunday morning amateurs.

Also I have never thought Sa was or is any good - he should never have played tonight, along with Andre - useless. Another poor transfer window and the future is as transparent as a London smog.
