Can Wolves survive relegation I say yes if Rob Edwards who looks like getting the job if he can galvanise these players. I know were 8 points from safety but Wolves are only 10 points of Newcastle who sit 13th.Im hopeing tonight we might see some changes to the starting 11 first play Tolu up front plus Lopez give them a chance.
Its something VP never did always played his favourits then made wierd subs. Hopfully Collins plays an attacking team and give Chelsea a game but keeping it tight at the back finers crossed.

From Boros X, Middlesbrough Football Club have, subject to the completion of an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, given head coach Rob Edwards permission to speak to Wolves.
We initially rejected an approach from Wolves on the basis that Rob signed a three-year contract with MFC less than six months ago.
Following discussions with Rob we were disappointed to learn that he wanted to speak with Wolves regarding their head coach vacancy. We have now agreed terms with Wolves, subject to completion of the relevant paperwork.
First team coaches Adi Viveash and Harry Watling, and Academy manager Craig Liddle, will take charge of team affairs for Saturday’s game against Birmingham City at the Riverside.

Hoping for a good performance tonight, think the team will want to put on a good showing proving VP was the problem and not the individual players. Really hope we can get something from the game, create chances and actually score 🤞.
Seems that it will be Rob Edwards and I wish him all the best as I think we all will.

Agree banksy.
Looks like he's planning his assistants
Ready to take over, as long as its an improvement from vp.
Im sure it will be, what i'm not sure of, is, will it be enough to keep us up.
Fingers crossed. But maybe we will have to rebuild in championship, time will tell.
So let's get behind the team
08 Nov 2025 12:01:13
Yes. I'm hoping the players will be able to express themselves tonight and play with more freedom. Maybe play Tolu and JSL together up front and cause some chaos in their box.
I'm not disappointed with Rob Edwards if that who it turns out to be. As above we all need to get behind him and the team and give them our full support. COYW.
08 Nov 2025 12:07:58
If Edwards is coming in, all I can say is Hallelujah!
That great Leonard Cohen song reminds me of the highs and lows of supporting Wolves.
Edwards is one of our own. The rumoured plans of ex-players coming on board with him could be game-changing. He must usher in a change of culture at the top, to break the negative cycle, season after season, that we have suffered since Nuno departed.
08 Nov 2025 12:19:04
Seems a decent chap. I just hope Shi doesn't destroy him.
I guess from his point of view, it showcases him back in the Premiership.
When Wolves go down (just my opinion), he can position himself for another Premiership role with no blame attached to him.
08 Nov 2025 12:32:57
Would be great to get local Wolverhampton influence back into OUR club. Real passion is required by all if there’s going to be a miraculous turnaround. I know he’s not from Wolverhampton, but I would love to see Conor Coady involvement for his passion and enthusiasm - he never stops encouraging and is loud so will be heard.
COYW - show some pride tonight
08 Nov 2025 13:18:51
Regarding the rumours of ex players coming in alongside Edwards. I’m all for that as long as it’s the right ones. I’d love to see Coady for example.
As for Lescott though…no disrespect to the bloke, he was a great player for us but I personally wouldn’t want him coaching our defence - unless it was to teach them how to shift any blame for conceding goals away from themselves and onto their teammates.
Lescott was world class at that in his later years.
08 Nov 2025 18:17:41
Let’s not get negative 3GWolf. Times are a changing and we need to get behind everyone involved.

07 Nov 2025 16:38:43
Well he prob knows we are goung down and will be building a team in the Championship next season
07 Nov 2025 16:59:15
No chance, if they are signing Edwards I am fairly certain it is (partly) in preparation for the playing in the Championship next year because it's the only rationale that makes sense. Add to that after paying off VP and all his staff, not to mention comp for Edwards and all his staff we simply won't be able to afford another manger this season!
My bigger worry than player sales is actually Krecji, because I belive we have an obligation to buy after 20 matches for £20+m.
So at what point are the club going to pull that whole deal because they know we can't afford him in the Champ?! Cause that could be the tipping point as he is currently the ONLY defender we have that looks even capable of playing at a Prem level! What a bloody mess 😭
07 Nov 2025 17:35:07
Gents, we have plenty of time
To save the season, let’s not get carried away focussing on Championship and who is leaving, time to focus on staying up, we got our wish and VP of as shown the door, time to put some energy in trying to be positive, sure it can’t be any worse than it is
07 Nov 2025 18:29:59
Sydney of course you are correct but it will take a significant turnaround over the next few weeks and then some very serious investment in Jan. Sadly I am not certain that either of those will happen but Fosun must surely recognise how essential it is for the future of the club and their investment. Have they got the courage and the money to double down and try or will they cut and run selling Andre and Gomes this Jan whilst they are still valued as Prem footballers.
BB continuing to pick Krejci and thus triggering the obligation or not will be a clear sign of Fosun's intent.
Maybe they might think that he is good enough for Wolves to do an Afobe - sign him and flip him?
If they sign him and Wolves go down though I am far from certain they will get back the transfer fee despite his strong performances so far this season.
07 Nov 2025 18:45:47
Absolutey Sydney. Some fans are waving the white flag! If Edwards is coming in, he must believe he has more chance of PL football next season with Wolves compared to Boro. We have 84 points to play for. We can do it. We have money to spend in January. I hope he signs Hayden Hackney for starters.
07 Nov 2025 21:06:56
Let's get fully behind him and the team now. He is as close as you can get to one of our own. Been going for 60 years and will be the first Manager for years I feel has a genuine love for the club. Come on everyone and get behind him!
08 Nov 2025 01:59:31
Fair point TFG, as usual bud.
But I suspect we wouldn't take our chances and as (we've both) said it would be (sadly) telling if he just stops being picked come Dec!
And I understand Sydney buddy, and of course you are correct in your approach because right now (looking at the table) with a new manager arriving, hope is all we have left! So like Ron says I will ALWAYS (like everyone else on here) support the new manager and hope he has a miracle hidden up his sleeve!
However, none of that changes the reality of the situation! Sadly the reality is that if/when we lose to Chelsea tomoz, we will have 27 games left and we will likely need to win a minimum of 12 of those to survive! Whatever I might think of Edwards, to be honest I simply don't think this team has enough quality in it to win that many games in this current Prem league!
I will always back the manager and the squad however I fear that this season will likely be that bridge too far that Jeff/Fosun have seemingly been determined to have arrived at for about the last four seasons!
Like always though (this season more than ever) I am also DESPERATELY happy for Edwards (and maybe Lescott) to prove me very wrong! COYW🐺
08 Nov 2025 02:28:24
This is probably one of the reasons he has an interest in the job he knows the club and he loved it for a long time. Apparently he lives in wolverhampton anyway.
08 Nov 2025 08:31:45
Not disagreeing with anything said above, but I just have a gut feeling. Maybe that hope that's been mentioned, that now VPs gone the players will be able to 'express' themselves more fluently and their attributes may be used without some constraints. That being the case we may see a more dynamic and unpredictable forward thinking team approach.
Tonight's game may surprise a few, a little more new manager bounce in our play.
Chelsea may be slightly weary after their midweek game and we can take something from the game.
So we're all behind the lads, let's approach matches with that hope in our hearts and believe in the players we have at present.
Forever old gold COYW.
08 Nov 2025 08:55:26
I'm going to break with moaning for a change. My initial thoughts were if we do get Edwards we were preparing for the championship, then I saw the post about the comment from Klopp and actually what he did with those Luton players. If it does end up being Edwards I'll be right behind him.
The other thing, is we have still got a fantastic squad of players. Cunha is NOT lighting fires at Man U, Munetsi is out performing him this season; Ait Nouri is NOT tearing it up for City Wolfe is out performing him this season, and that's with us at the foot of the table.
We still have a dynamo pairing in the middle and Tolu looks class if not a bit scrappy at the moment still.
I think there's plenty about our squad we can celebrate. Tweaks in defence and we'll be ok!

According to Wikipedia, Esports is short for electronic sports and is a form of competition using video games.
Esports often takes the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players, played individually or as teams.

Basically playing computer games online in large competitions (mostly the new versions of FIFA which I believe is now called FC26, after FIFA pulled the plug on copy rights) buddy.
Me and my mates always laugh that we were born in the wrong generation as you now get grown arse adults making an INSANE amount of money to play footy games like FIFA professionally! We used to play them at Uni enough to be deemed pro I reckon but back then we were just sad cases, now it'd be a good career move! 😂
07 Nov 2025 17:51:05
You could argue it is a bit silly but then again. Us getting so emotional over a bunch of overpaid people running around on a grass field after a round ball. I guess it's a matter of choice.

Is the e sport business part of the Wolves football club or another arm of Fosun?
If it is, there appears to have been zero income in the accounts coming to the club so far despite all the noise?
One for the future or Fosun merely using the brand to help themselves not Wolves?
07 Nov 2025 18:57:42
OK thanks. That’s a genuine question as I don’t know. Is it therefore correct that Fosun are using Wolves brand in China in esports very successfully? If they’re making a lot of money then I suppose they’re not really desperate to preserve our Premier status. Am I wide of the mark on this please?
07 Nov 2025 19:12:32
V good q 47.
Does the brand rely on Wolves premier league status?
This is probably the question upon which Wolves season hangs as with a huge spend in January is might still be possible to survive - albeit it is going to be very tight and will require an amazing never seen before transfer window!
07 Nov 2025 21:06:08
If you go on internet wolves esport, the income and invest numbers are available. Then you can compare with the fotball club numbers and investments. I can't at the moment because it's Friday night and I am in garage destroying my body with Black Sabbath and whisky.
07 Nov 2025 23:31:22
Tks Skrekken.
I have had a look and the info is somewhat patchy with a figure as you said for income, (but none for costs), and a number for an investment.
The conclusion reached by the report I read seems to be that e sports makes no money whatsoever - which would seem to fit with the Wolves FC accounts .
However as this thread commented Wolves are investing in the activity fairly heavily i.e.
it is sucking cash out of the club.
Maybe at some distant date in the future it will make sense but right now it is an irrelevant distraction that obviously is more of interest to Jeff than the real game and the real business.
He clearly is not just incompetent but a fool as well!
Fiddling whilst Rome burns!
07 Nov 2025 12:29:56
Why is it lots of teams use promising youngsters who are keen to improve and impress, but wolves seem reluctant, we have in all these promising players but never see them. Enzo gonzales, Pedro lema, Nathan frasher to name a few. We also let solid squad players leave or go on loan like Tommy doyle,

It’s like the owners have no respect for Wolves at all.
I was interested to see what the Chinese Core virtues and values are meant to be -
Ren: The virtue of compassion, humanity, and love for others.
Yi: Righteousness, justice, and the moral disposition to do good.
Li: Propriety, respect, and proper ritual conduct. It involves showing proper courtesy and respect in all social interactions.
Zhi: Wisdom and knowledge.
Xin: Integrity, trustworthiness, and honesty.
I’m sorry to say we have experienced none of these. Fosun have dishonoured the Wolves family name and continue to do so. Shame on them.
07 Nov 2025 12:22:49
I saw a comment on here a week ago referring to value of Wolves to Fosun and it made a very good point that a Wolves team in the championship is worth a lot less than one in the Premiership. Jeff is obviously aware of this, especially given that however shambolic the transfer window was it was Jeff "pulling his finger out" in the realisation that their investment could be worth a lot less than a few months. So as we already know Fosun and Jeff are naive as far as running a football club is concerned.

The concept of 'face' is very important in China, as a symbol of respect, honour and social standing. To be relegated from the PL would be disgrace and dishonour. Jeff, you will lose so much more than your job if you can't save Wolves.

A:- A Clipboard.
B:- An iPAD.
C:- A Notebook.
07 Nov 2025 14:30:37
He didn't take training this morning either deep throat, something is afoot. As much as I wouldn't mind Edwards I think he'd be a fool giving up what he's got at boro to come and sacrifice his career to fosun. Of course he could pull off the greatest escape and be any stand hero, but then who would come hunting him?
07 Nov 2025 17:12:04
I'm not sure Abbey I'm actually starting to see why he might be keen. Think about it in REAL terms we have been SO poorly run that he would (ironically) be under MUCH less pressure at our place than Boro! If Boro don't make the playoffs this year then questions will be asked and his position will be under pressure. If that happens then basically his next job would be further down the Champ table. We on the other hand are already as good as down, so if he can't rescue us he gets to say 'well it was a done deal before I got there' then he may well get to manage us next year in the Champ, where for he would likely have a squad not much worse than Boros currently is.
Essentially I actually suspect that Edwards has come to realise that it's to good a chance to turn down, he could spend the next 2-5 seasons trying to get back to the Prem without success. This way he gets to go back straight away with little to no pressure cause the club in question looks relegated in all but name!
Sadly I think the only people that come off badly will be us fans. I like Edwards and think he'll be a good manager one day. But I fear that the current mess we are in needs a FAR more experienced Prem manager to even stand a chance at survival. I will of course back the man either way, and just hope that I an entirely wrong (for once:) 👍
07 Nov 2025 18:37:54
BB - good post other than the squad Wolves will be able to field next year is highly unlikely to be anywhere near as good as the Boro one from this season.
07 Nov 2025 19:01:54
Bully's you make good sense in what you say mate, a lot of considerations must have been made, and of course he's from the area. Latest news suggesting lescott might be joining the staff along with other (unamed) ex players.
