What a leader! Oh, if only we had him at his peak today, there'd be no lack of passion and drive from anyone in the team. RIP Mike Bailey - you will never be forgotten by those that saw you play.

After Phil Parkes the other day, as well.
He was a great player and a loyal servant to the club.
That Bill McGarry side of the early 70s that he captained is the most successful Wolves side I have ever seen!

Without a doubt, Mike Bailey was the best captain I've ever seen playing for the Wolves and the 60th anniversary of my first match is in October. A driving force in midfield, he constantly urged teammates on and played a hard but fair game in an era when the dark arts often prevailed. He was sorely missed when he retired, just as he will be now.

Have just seen this very sad news. RIP Captain Fantastic Mike Bailey. I still firmly believe Wolves would have won the UEFA Cup had Mike not been absent through injury for both ties, such was his influence.

Only just learned of Mike Bailey passing. What a man, what a leader. He had everything that's missing from our midfield, and, indeed, captaining.
After Big Phil the other day, it's a shock, but God's rest Mike, and thoughts are with all family and friends. R.I.P. Skip.

B'hills, I admire your loyalty, but sometimes you need to get a sense of perspective and reality, and you are lacking both. No one on this site is moaning; they are merely stressing their feelings towards negative decisions and actions, or indeed a lack of both, from the hierarchy.

I have to agree. I was staggered to see there was almost 31,000 for a live game in the second tier. Blind faith and blind optimism spring to mind, but fans' loyalty and devotion are being brutally trashed by Shi and his companions.
