Bid of £20m from Saudi for Sa has come in?
Anyone heard or know anymore, or just rumour?
1.) 12 Aug 2024 07:48:35
I hadn’t heard about the bid but I have heard Rui Patricio is a free agent and we’ve considered it. Seems to fit into place
2.) 12 Aug 2024 11:38:14
Can't find any more on it.
Probably why this might be only fit for the rumour page ?
But also heard it's Sam Johnson they are looking at to replace.
Time will tell I suppose.as always
3.) 12 Aug 2024 20:49:32
I think lack of transfer activity has drastically weakened our squad and with tha outgoings the Sky pundit today tipped Wolves for Relegation. We could well be in a Relegation dog fight.
4.) 12 Aug 2024 22:20:04
How is the squad weaker? OK, I'll give you the defence is not as experienced as last season with the sale of Kilman. Neto is a big loss but he only played until November and although Gomes cannot be deemed to be at the same level as Neto, we aren't any weaker in the attacking areas as we've got a like for like replacement for Neto plus a striker in Strand Larsen. Add to this the fact that it looks increasingly likely that Guedes will be staying, we actually look stronger than last season. At least one experienced defender will come in by the end of the transfer window.
5.) 13 Aug 2024 13:42:23
Sorry Wandering but let's all be realistic about the situation. We've sold our club captain who played in every single Prem game last season and not (as yet) replaced him with a player that has ANY REAL Prem experience! Then this week we have sold our ONLY genuinely top class winger left in the squad. A player who played a direct role in 11 of our 50 Prem goals last season despite being injured half the time. And to REALLY add insult to injury it's becoming increasingly obvious that he wasn't driving the move the club were?!
So to be frank we aren't just weaker than this time last season we are a LOT weaker! It's all well and good Dave Edwards telling us how great the money we've made is but we've sold the two biggest names in our squad and have yet again replaced them with relative unknown quantities! If Guedes is that good we should have sold him and kept Neto. Problem is Guedes isn't that good which is why we can't shift him!
I do admire your positivity Wandering so not having a go; but this bizarre spin the clubs putting on things is baffling! We've sold two players that played a HUGE hand in the points we won last season but it's OK cause we have lots of money in the bank that we almost certainly can't spend anyway?! It's just that kind of progress that has had Fosun over see our transition from knocking on the door of the Champs League places to kicking down the door to the Championship spaces!
Sorry gents but if this is what progress looks like then Jeff is watching a different league/sqaud to me! ?
6.) 13 Aug 2024 16:08:19
We all knew that Neto was going. Why else were we monitoring Rodrigo Gomes since January. I don't think we're weaker. We all complained that when Neto, Hwang and Cunha were injured the back up wasn't good enough. Well this season, it looks like rather than Fraser, Chiwome and Chirewa stepping in, well have Hwang, Cunha, Gomes, Strand Larsen, Guedes, Sarabia and Bellegarde as attacking options.
7.) 13 Aug 2024 17:15:38
Thing is Wandering that what you've done there is listed 7 first team players as an example of our extra depth depite the fact that 5 of those players were on the books last year, how does that equate to extra depth exactly?! So when you swap out Neto for Gomes in REAL terms Larsen is the ONLY addition. And by the way that's also making the MASSIVE assumption that Gomes is as good as the best attacking player that's played for us since we came back to the Prem (Neto) no pressure there then!
And all this talk about Guedes staying is also currently entirely premature! And by the way even if he does he was less than useless first time round so I'm not sure why everyone suddenly thinks he's miraculously up to the cut in the Prem?
You've also skated over our losing the club captain and most used defender, who we have yet to replace?! I was fine when Kilman left because I foolishly thought Jeff might invest half of it on a decent cb, so far that doesn't look to be the case. And an 18 year old coming in to play in the u21s for less than £5m is not a replacement for Kilman.
Again just don't see how anyone can genuinely tell me this squads better than last years?! We better hope it is because the three that went down last year where woeful champ teams, we won't be as lucky this time round I'm afraid!
8.) 13 Aug 2024 17:49:22
Last season Hwang, Cunha, Neto were all injured at the same time. Bellegarde was also out and Guedes was out on loan. So at one point last season we had Sarabia as our only fit attacker.
9.) 13 Aug 2024 18:32:47
But again Wandering other than Larsen how has ANY of that actually changed exactly?! Hwang is always injured every other game, Guedes could still go back out on loan or be sold. Essentially what you've said there is that last year we struggled with injuries then just listed a load of the SAME players who were/are here now but yet could just as easily get injured again this season (please see Cunha currently)?! Larsen really is all we've added, other than that we are a cb down?!
10.) 13 Aug 2024 18:51:26
So what you're saying is that selling 1 attacking player but bringing in 2 and retaining a full international makes us worse off?
11.) 13 Aug 2024 19:26:27
So what are you saying, that clubs who sell there best two players and replace them with players who have never played in the Prem before are stronger than the season before?! Behave! Guedes is bang average, Larsen unproven, Gomes unproven. Compared to Kilman, played every league game of the season and our club captain. Neto the catalyst for over a fifth of all our goals last season also gone. You have a very odd version of stronger! I bet City can't wait to shift De Bruyne and Haaland, cause in your version that makes them stronger?! OK then
12.) 13 Aug 2024 19:42:25
Love it Bully's. Spot on as usual.
13.) 13 Aug 2024 20:02:59
Kilman was not our best defender last season. Dawson was our best Central Defender who made Kilman look better than he was.
Strange analogy of Man City with Haaland and De Bruyne because I'm sure they didn't start their careers there and they replaced established players Yaya Toure and Gabriel Jesus. In both cases, they proved to be better than their predecessors. Keegan/Dalglish. Another example is Raheem Sterling being replaced by Mo Salah. Teams evolve. Players move on. Even Neto replaced one of our favourites in Adama.
14.) 13 Aug 2024 21:18:21
I agree Dawson was better than Kilman technically. Sadly he's also MUCH slower and 7 years older than Kilman which is also why last season all he managed was 25 league games whereas Kilman played everyone of the 38 league games! So who else is making up that back line now then? Are you HONESTLY telling me you trust S.Bueno and Mosquera to play half the season together next season, big ask that!
My point on City is that good clubs don't regularly sell their best players. Which is precisely why City sold Álvarez and kept Haaland, not rocket science is it.
I understand that teams evolve but as yet we haven't seen a single one of these new players so much as kick a ball in the Prem but you have somehow already decreed that they are going to be better than two players that have fetched some of the highest fees this club has seen why/what are you basing that on then?!
You seem to be disgressing from your original point which was that you've said we are now stronger and you can't possibly know that! No one can to be honest, all we do know right now is that two of our most prominent players from last season have left and at time of writing niether of them has been replaced with a player of proven Prem quality. So I ask YET again, how exactly can you (or anyone) say we are stronger right with any real confidence beyond a dose of bravado based on friendly matches?!
15.) 13 Aug 2024 22:20:14
My tuppence
In goal and mid we are unchanged so neither weaker or stronger.
Up front we have added 4 bodies, the two new boys and 2 returning from loan and only lost one, Neto.
Consequently we certainly have solved the depth issue that caused us such problems at stages last season. This is regardless of what you think about Guedes and Podence's attitude and their, plus sadly Larsen's, ability - he looks miles off the pace at the moment. Clearly they are all far better than the kids we had to play last season.
But in the first eleven we are replacing Neto with Gomes R. Surely no one expects Gomes R to be one of the best players in the league on day 1 off his career?
So does the additional depth, the optionaility of Larsen - we had no one who can play the target man role he can - and Neto's potential future injury record balance the loss of his brilliance when he plays?
In my mind it is very clear that it doesn't.
Last year when he played we tended to win and when he didn't we didn't.
Yes others were also absent particularly Dawson during our bad run but it was fairly obvious that Neto was the key component of our demise.
Dawson brings us to defence where we have lost 2 players and added 2 but have we also lost Dawson? His age, injuries and abscence from pre season sends a scary message that we might have?
We have bought a 3rd choice RB but lost our 2nd choice LB and in Yerson gained a new totally unproven CB but have lost our captain and first choice CB plus possibly our best defender in Dawson. (Note Dawson clearly can't play in a 2 any more but nor can Toti yet all pre season we have played him and Yerson as a 2).
We now have serious depth issues at CB and LB and are clearly markedly weaker (scarily so!) in defence especially if we are going to try and play 4 at the back!
So sadly for me we are club that came 14th largely on Neto and Daswon's back but quite possibly now have neither and have a much weaker first 11 and at best a squad that is not a great deal deeper.
Wandering that in my view is why Kally and BB think we are weaker.
16.) 14 Aug 2024 02:05:27
For me, the issue of whether we are weaker or stronger than last year turns on whether we recruit a top class CB. The defence currently looks a real worry with inadequate experience and injury cover. It’s too early to panic but I’m starting to get a little scared.
17.) 14 Aug 2024 06:04:31
Without Neto, yes we look weaker but he's gone now. The team moves on. I personally think Cunha is our most important player and our squad is stronger than last season, some don't. Let's just look forward to the new season.
04 Mar 2024 08:58:40
I read and hear (though we all know not to trust rumours) that Arsenal have bid amongst a few Prem Clubs for our Welsh international Academy player Brayden Clarke.
And after 7 years with us he seems to be going and happy to do so.
I just wonder if he's such a promising talent why we would let him go?
No idea if true or the fees, but presumably we have a good deal of control of the situation and surely if he's such a prospect we should be keeping him and making every effort to do so
Thoughts or info anybody?
1.) 04 Mar 2024 09:40:46
There could be any number of reasons why he wants to go. Arsenal are a bigger club than us and maybe he has been promised game time, or he wants to live nearer the Capital.
Look at Cole Palmer. Could have been a squad player at Man City and guarantee trophies or move to Chelsea and start every game and develop even further.
2.) 04 Mar 2024 13:09:19
Yes Jas, but we are talking Wolves here, not Man C, if he's good enough for our 1st team squad ( who knows), doesn't mean he's automatically good enough for Arsenal 1st team squad and game time does it.
.and why aren't wolves fighting tooth and nail to keep him if he's that good, and ours already.
( Though personally I have to admit I'd never heard of him before this)
3.) 04 Mar 2024 14:56:20
Apparently, there is no compensation involved. He can move as a free agent.
4.) 04 Mar 2024 15:13:54
How do you know that they aint?
Maybe he doesn't fit Gary O'Neil's plans, maybe Arsenal plan to loan him out for a few years like they did Nketiah. We just don't know.
Remember that over the last 3 years we have lost youngsters to Liverpool and Man City but not heard from them since.
If he wants to go then let him because why should we hold onto a player who doesn't want to be here.

Fantastic evening and result.
Great work rste and team result.and against Villa.
Im wet through and frozen but home now.
Shouldn't do it to myself at 80.but wouldny have missed it for the world.
Memories are made of this.
And I'll try to make Tuesday and Friday.if I've not got pneumonia!
:))
1.) 28 Feb 2026 04:36:22
Great work, Rollo! I'm only 65, but I missed the last train home, so had to camp out with Mrs PW! There's one due, should be home for 7am! See ya, Villa. You've been Gomesed! Wolves, ay we! Can't wait for Deepdale next season! Fwaw!!!
2.) 28 Feb 2026 04:48:23
Well, if we can show that amount of effort again against Liverpool (twice!), and we get the pitch similarly soaked, it could be an interesting week, Rollo, Was it because it was the vile last night? Or have we finally found some grit and pride? Everyone seemed committed in the end, and finally knew where to put the ball.
The first half was a bit hit or miss. I did feel for you lads at the Mol, in the rain, whilst sitting in front of the TV, but I'd much rather have been there with you. Take care, Rollo, and let's hope it's another 3 points Tuesday.
3.) 28 Feb 2026 06:53:20
Thanks, Abbey. Always love your posts. You're realistic, fair, friendly, and Wolves thru and thru. Thin squad, and a demanding week with the 3 squashed games. A bit worried we'll be knackered, but hopefully, with that lift to the spirits from last night, we can get something from Liverpool - a cup quarter-final would be fantastic, wouldn't it. ?
4.) 28 Feb 2026 09:03:41
Thanks, Rollo. Yea, to be honest, I'd rather progress in the cup now than have the 3pnts Tues. Dunno what Re will be thinking, but we've got to rest a few somewhere, I'd think. Maybe in the league, then go for the cup? Liverpool will have an eye on the top 4 now we've beaten vile, and no doubt go strong Tues.
They've got depth that we havnt, but a cold rainy night can be a good leveller, so maybe another soaking could be worth it? Go careful with the night nurse tho!

Intriguing situation over Edwards appointment.
I, like quite a few others, including some journalisr, were expecting formal announcement of appointment today.
Gone 3.30 annoying announced anywhere as far as I can see.
Im.wondering if Edwards is asking very hard questions, and for hard commitments from shi (which we all support!) Following what he very well knows of our notoriety in the last few years with sales of the best, management style (and team.of 1!), Fosum, ambition, commitment etc.
Wonder also if that's what GON did too and why he walked away.
We wait with baited breath for the outcome of this one.
1.) 10 Nov 2025 15:51:20
It's more likely be the photo shoot and PR stuff that will probably go with the announcement Rollo. If he's left 'Boro it's a bit late now to be seeking assurances.
2.) 10 Nov 2025 16:00:23
The exploits and deeds of Shi and Fosun have tagged us the most hated club in the UK.
That's a good enough reason to get them out
3.) 10 Nov 2025 16:02:25
I think this whole notion that GON pulled out is the club doing him a kindness.
I suspect what actually happened is that when Jeff went to the players with it they were VERY clear on their feelings! I liked GON but let's be honest the team was an absolute mess by the time he left and a decent chunk of the current squad had a front row seat for it ?
4.) 10 Nov 2025 16:10:56
Hmmm not sure about that as all the people I seem to speak to are of the agreement that that title is definitely in Nottingham Forests trophy cabinet.
Most hated owners by fans that’s us by a long way now the bloke at Wednesday has been kicked out but mist hated club, nah most other fans feel sorry for us, personally would rather be hated as that usually means your winning things
5.) 10 Nov 2025 16:30:44
On a complete side note anyone noticed that Pool had a goal disallowed virtually like for like to one the same ref gave agaisnt Wolves last season. So when the goals for Man City it's given when it's agaisnt them it's definetly a foul! Same ref, same decision completely different out come, I wonder why that might be eh?! What a complete joke! ?
6.) 10 Nov 2025 17:05:21
Man City, Villa and Chelsea-blatant cheats and nothing is done about it
7.) 10 Nov 2025 20:54:00
They can treat paranoia Bullysboy.
8.) 10 Nov 2025 21:46:02
Please can we stop talking about GON - a stranger would believe we are talking about a superstar manager who left on his own accord and we were in the top 10 of the Premier division.
We need to move on. We have a new manager who has worn the shirt who lives in the city, and deserves all our support for his courage in taking on this challenge
9.) 10 Nov 2025 22:36:21
Most hated club in the UK, QS? Its not April 1st is it? Fans of other clubs couldn't care less about Fosun, Shi and their antics but maybe they're having a good old laugh at our predicament.
10.) 11 Nov 2025 09:19:44
Good to know Mike, can those same people treat stupidity?! Asking for a friend on here ?
01 Nov 2025 17:54:56
If VP had any shred of decency he would resign. Now!
And save us the pay off money of which he doesn't deserve a penny.
Fosun thru Shi specifically prove themselves time and time again to be absolutely clueless as to how to run, and build a football club.
Just go!
24 Aug 2025 20:25:31
Where's Boy Blunder and what's happening to his multiple persuers in Germany and Italy?
Have his demands and preferences turned them off, or has Teti with his mucking about, price changes, and dubious negotiating skills (?), bugge*ed it up?
01 Jul 2025 20:11:14
Having just read Shi's statement. What planet is the man on! We've suffered because he's not been hands on enough and needs to be at the Training Ground every day! What! And the Stove Bull stand is old but only needs a few tweaks like Fulhams me Riverside Stand! Has it seen it! The man needs certifying ?
1.) 02 Jul 2025 01:04:43
Yeah I have to admit it is a somewhat bizarre statement! On the one hand he openly admits that he's not that interested in football, prefering games and movies explaining his interest in eSports which is absolutely fine/fair enough. But to then go on and suggest that the reason we've been poor is because this (self proclaimed) footy novice hasn't been at the training ground is so entirely laughable that it's almost disingenuous! Also it doesn't paint your staff in a great light or for that matter how they see you! Any even half decent manager will tell you that if you need to be in a room with your staff to have their respect then I'm afraid the truth is that they simply don't respect you in the first instance!
It's infuriating but to be honest I almost feel sorry for the guy, it's pretty clear he doesn't want to be at the club and I'm afraid that doesn't say a lot for Fosuns interests if a want away chairman is the best they are willing (or capable) of giving us! Oh dear Jeff, I know you mean well but these interviews only seem to ever make things worse! ??
2.) 02 Jul 2025 07:27:57
"Jeff Shi podcast appearance is a horror show" - Molineux News view.
I struggle to understand Fosun's approach.
3.) 02 Jul 2025 08:20:31
Once again Shi kills all the hope and enthusiasm for the fans, all the fans want is a team that gives there all and can compete in the prem, I have been through some tough times with Wolves and it sounds like it is not going to end.
4.) 02 Jul 2025 08:35:35
How does VP feel reading all that. It totally lacks any vision for the future, and suggests that where Fosun can spend money, such as improve the ground to create revenue there is nothing on offer. Their original plan when buying Wolves is off the table, and Fosun seem content to tread water with a fear of spending more money. I still feel they are in sell mode, but buyers are scarce. I think they made a naive purchase.
5.) 02 Jul 2025 09:20:49
Fosun need to make a clear statement about selling the club-it is pathetic the rapid way we are moving backwards.
VP may well walk and if he does, this club will be a poison chalice in terms of appointing prospective head coaches. We sit and dawdle as other clubs escalate their ambition and strategies
6.) 02 Jul 2025 10:10:24
It was bizarre and at times contradictory. I get you have to spend money wisely and not waste it. I agree the Steve Bull stand is old and not fit for purpose, but the only sensible way to optimise that stand is to bulldoze it and start again, unless we're building a new ground which isn't on the table at the moment.
The club needs other revenue streams to stay competitive in the long term, so even as a business not investing could cost them when they do come to sell. The venue has to be used for more non-football events as well as increasing value of match day experiences and finding ways to push the brand globally and find opportunities in the local community to generate revenue. None of that seems to be happening or working.
If at any point the club is relegated any additional ways to generate revenue will become more relevant to even slightly plug the massive hole left in TV revenue.
7.) 02 Jul 2025 10:33:39
Jeff Shi interviews should never be aired. It’s as though he has a silent ‘t’ in his name!
8.) 02 Jul 2025 13:49:21
You could see that he's trying to admit his faults and that he's made mistakes but he isn't very articulate. It made him look very incompetent.
27 Aug 2025 15:02:47
I'd go for Mitro, he's not quite what he was and he wants Fulham.but have a go I'd say
24 Aug 2025 20:20:22
Forest supposedly interested in Ake from ManC.good enough for us.?.especially if this Girona chap is getting cold feet?
15 Feb 2025 08:43:07
Absolutely TFIG!
I think some folk don't take those figures into account.
Just as you say if Samedo (a known quantity) goes, we would be in for saving only half or a bit less of his wages if we buy in a replacement plus in top a significant amount for buying a replacement. Unless of course Lima really is ready to step up to that full time fir the season.
That approach of course can't go on forever as players get too old, or are doubtful in the job. Eg where some. might say guides or sarabia, and perhaps Hwang too.
.our £35m boy wonder is another matter entirely of course ?
22 Jan 2025 12:25:41
Truly tragic for us if he goes this window.
And nobody is going to pay £80m now anyway
20 Jan 2025 12:15:53
We certainly need some action PDQ!
06 Mar 2026 23:25:55
Anyone know, or thoughts on why Kretchi, who I thought was MOTM on Tuesday, didn't start or come on tonight, even though he was on the bench?
03 Mar 2026 23:49:26
Late home tonight from the match.
But isn't it great to see not the best of squads, but playing as a team, for 90 minutes, and working hard.
Fabulous atmosphere in the ground tonight.
I need a good rest now before a repeat, and hopefully of the result too, on Friday. :))
28 Feb 2026 07:00:24
You were saying, Gig, BoS? Great team work, great result. Wolves forever. ?
28 Feb 2026 06:53:20
Thanks, Abbey. Always love your posts. You're realistic, fair, friendly, and Wolves thru and thru. Thin squad, and a demanding week with the 3 squashed games. A bit worried we'll be knackered, but hopefully, with that lift to the spirits from last night, we can get something from Liverpool - a cup quarter-final would be fantastic, wouldn't it. ?
11 Feb 2026 12:37:00
BB2.i feel it necessary to make this post about you on here.
its very noticeable over the years of your posting on here, thst sadly you often take a very sanctimonious tone and phraseology.
You tend to talk down often to other posters, and attack them on a too personal and rude basis.
You've excelled yourself in that on the Hwang issue.
And none of us, not even you, know the actual finances around the Korean company taked about.
Yes its banter rumour and discussion site and we all have our own views.
Can you please take a more friendly and conciliatory tone, even if you don't agree with folk.
