Have we or have we not done a deal for Jordan James?
So many different rumours.
09 Aug 2026 15:07:23
Wolves have spoken to him and are awaiting his response.
09 Aug 2026 15:09:56
Moby, there is, as far as I know, no deal agreed for James. He is considering his options, but Wolves are pushing hard to get him. CP wants Wolves to pull out all the stops to sign him, get him in midfield with Andre. Wolves need to deliver on CP's choices, after he said I have confidence in the board to make signings.
09 Aug 2026 15:45:16
Rated RKO, it's a waiting game. Wolves have to sell the project to James. We're getting promoted. You will play every game possible, and there will be an increase in wages when promoted to PL. Wolves have to convince James. He would be best placed here, and it would be a great signing if it comes off, but it's a big if, knowing Wolves.
09 Aug 2026 16:36:31
Upside, Wolverhampton closer to home town, Hereford, than other interested parties. Downside, Jarrod Bowen is from Hereford.
09 Aug 2026 17:06:24
West Ham will push for him if they don't manage to bring in Engels, I imagine.
09 Aug 2026 22:50:04
James is a good option.
But someone like Casares from Gil Vincente would be good. He knows how Cesar plays, and gives Andre more freedom in midfield.
Especially now, we have forwards that move.
I'd still sign James.
I'm worried mainly about the cbs and forwards, as they aren't quick enough and don't have the consistency for a promotion challenge.
Are R Gomes, Mane, Hwang and Said good enough?
I'd class Raul and Armstrong as strikers.
09 Aug 2026 11:36:40
Jordan James offer accepted! Latest!
Wolves keen to get the deal done quickly but a few clubs are keen. As reported by Alan Nixon.
Boubacar Traore looks set for a loan move. Wolves holding out for an option to buy clause.
Wolves are no closer to a goalkeeper resolution. Johnstone could go to Everton (or elsewhere) for as low as £2.5m, with Bentley looking set to stay. Sa has had no more real interest (unfortunately although I feel would be a good goalkeeper for us in the championship).
Wolves are open to offers for a number of players in order to lower the wage bill with Hwang being the most noteable name (Santi was not mentioned 🤔)
Sociedad are yet to come in with an improved offer but Wolves are expecting a late move in the window. No centre back incomings unless 2 of the current centre backs move on.
09 Aug 2026 12:59:16
Who is saying offer accepted for James as everywhere i've looked saying no offer been made. Where do you get your information from because nothing on any site say offer accepted.
09 Aug 2026 14:15:40
Source: HP.
09 Aug 2026 14:41:39
Wolves are "desperate" for midfielder Jordan James, and are waiting on the Rennes player to make a decision on his new home.
08 Aug 2026 10:36:31
Got the result we wanted
Wasn't impressed with defensive display.
If anything Port Vale should of been 2 up before we scored.
But it's early days.
Good welcome back for Jimenez.
Let's see what we can do in league.
Matches. That's what counts.
08 Aug 2026 12:51:57
Give Toti away, he does the same most games. Captain? I don't think so. Trippier always, without a doubt!
06 Aug 2026 08:32:39
It's suggested Kilman going to Palace.
06 Aug 2026 10:33:42
Kilman to Palace? We probably have a reverse sell-on clause. Like, we pay a percentage of any loss by West Ham!
08 Aug 2026 20:27:34
Could he take Toti Gomes with him!
06 Aug 2026 07:54:34
Hearing rumours that Neves is coming back. £25 million bid.
06 Aug 2026 08:30:48
Not a chance in our wage structure, I would imagine, and we aint spending 25mil on a player even if he is world class.
06 Aug 2026 09:18:30
Doubt this is true. However, could imagine Ruben not being too bothered about how much we pay him, as Saudi will have made him pretty rich already. However, still don't think it's likely to happen at all.
06 Aug 2026 10:06:53
No your not, because he signed a new contract about 6 months ago! You are clearly on the wind up just like you were with your 95% sell on clause comment! Maybe try and find a proper hobby rather than trolling forum pages?
06 Aug 2026 13:55:04
It would be a dream signing, but not realistic.
06 Aug 2026 15:04:27
I guess some mothers really do av them.
06 Aug 2026 16:42:35
Of course, we'd spend £25m on a player if he's World Class because anyone in that category is worth £100m +! Even Fosun couldn't mess that up. Could they?
07 Aug 2026 16:47:42
If only.
But I would say why is this guy any less reliable than rated? I don't think rated has a much better accuracy according to his posts over the last 5 seasons wolves should've bought about 127 players. He has gotten maybe 13 right? So a higher percentage than this guy but not much better hahaha.
I mean it is a rumour site so where else should rumours be posted?
Some of you proper gatekeep the club and by extension this forum.
Quick question why cry about a new stadium with increased capacity if you don't want any of us there because our great great granddad didn't have a season ticket and we don't live within shouting distance of banks?
Anyways. Would be amazing to get Ruben back. It is mostly likely a fanciful rumour. Not sure his contract has any bearing but him having reduced minutes for his national team might tempt him back to Europe but alas not for us. Most likely for someone like Juve.
08 Aug 2026 15:41:39
It's nothing to do with gate keeping it's a simple case of genuinely hearing a rumour or just writing nonsense to try and wind people up! If it's genuinely a rumour then just say what the source is (which Rated absolutely does whilst also pointing out that it's just a rumour), it's not rocket science.
Haha, you don't think the contract has any bearing, well it was for £320k a week do you think we can pay even half of that in the Championship? Cause if not then it absolutely has 'bearing'! Personally, I just find trolls somewhat tedious and also find that they actually put people off posting but if you want to call that gate keeping you crack on! 🙄
04 Aug 2026 23:43:07
We apparently interests in Nelson Derossa from Spanish club midfielder by all accounts.
05 Aug 2026 21:39:19
Arsenal game was on in a bar in Portugal, where I was having dinner. Didn't watch intently, but Dessano scored a cracking second goal for Betis. Price will have jumped on the back of that. He played up front and lasted 90 minutes. Doesn't look like they are aiming to offload him!
04 Aug 2026 16:35:32
We are apparently tracking Stau Bucarest keeper.
04 Aug 2026 18:31:07
That just means we will watch him fly round Europe and play games, we won't bid for him at all.
04 Aug 2026 19:01:10
Simon and Laura, it's a Levski Sofia keeper we're looking at......
04 Aug 2026 22:27:03
Sorry, matey, my bad, yea ur right.
03 Aug 2026 12:58:05
Wolves are looking to offload players before the window closes.
Sam Johnstone, Jose Sa, Krejci, Hwang... all other players are expecting to remain with Wolves.
Wolves have told Celta Vigo a clear "NO" to any deals for Lopez and Hugo Bueno. No other enquiries have been made on any other of our squad as of yet.
Everton hope to get Johnstone if one of their young keepers leaves on loan, but no news on Sa or Hwang.
Krejci is wanted by Real Sociedad, but they need to improve their last offer on the player.
Wolves are looking at numerous keepers to bring in, also a defensive midfielder, right winger and maybe another CB.
03 Aug 2026 18:10:53
Why do they need a right winger when they have Fer Lopez? Left winger to cover for Rafiki injury, not a right winger.
03 Aug 2026 18:17:11
When did Fer Lopez become a right winger?
Mane and Rodrigo were playing on the flanks against Santander. They were switching flanks during the game.
Peixoto has also stated that he wants a right winger.
03 Aug 2026 21:51:41
Fer is a cam number 10.
04 Aug 2026 13:37:06
When Wolves signed Lopez he played on the right wing, and then cut inside. Cesar might be playing him in a different position, and, with Rafiki injured, that's why I said left wing. I apologise if I'm wrong. My mistake.
06 Aug 2026 00:49:31
Lopez did play as a right winger under Vitor.
But the team was a lot narrower last season, and we were toothless playing this way.
The CAM position is either for Lopez or Mane. Not just CAM; either of them can play in a midfield 3, etc.
We need pace (I hate to keep stating this), but we lost all our pace last summer with Cunha, Ran, Sarabia and Semedo leaving.
Not saying we should spend £150m on these replacements.
But pace is a defenders' nightmare. We all remember Jota sticking Maguire's on his ass in the FA Cup quarter final.
But a special talent similar to Jota, Neto, Cav and Costa wouldn't go amiss. We need 3 more forwards, so a winger on both sides and a back up.
Raul's the Bonatini of this team.
Armstrong, the Afobe after Christmas.
We still need a Coady, Neves and Jota in this team.
03 Aug 2026 08:39:29
Sam Johnson might be going to Everton hopefully fingers crossed.
01 Aug 2026 11:02:14
Celta Vigo looking at options to bring Lopez and Hugo Bueno "Back home".
01 Aug 2026 12:38:48
Haha, they already looked at it for Lopez and realised they couldn't afford him, so unless they've found some money down the back of the sofa, then it ain't happening. I reckon Cesar will want to keep him, to be honest, but then after Gomes, who knows? We'll probs let them both go for a fiver and packet of pork scratchings. 😭👍
01 Aug 2026 14:12:45
Maybe, Wolves will accept a very low offer like they did for Joao Gomes. They practically gave him away. Jokers.
01 Aug 2026 15:12:15
Looks like he's going. Other than Peixoto wanting to play Santander and treat it like a normal game, i.e. not changing too many players, and not wanting to give Krejci too many minutes because he's not fully fit, I can't understand why Peixoto would prefer to use Krejci in the less important friendly. He also used Santi Bueno and Djiga in that friendly.
Peixoto gave Krejci 60 minutes and only gave Santi Bueno 30. I can see Santi leaving. He won't fit Peixoto's style of play.
Peixoto is likely going to play Mosquera and Toti today and give them the full 90.
Krejci must be on his way out the door. Give him some light minutes to keep his fitness up. Hopefully, Wolves will get £30 million for him. Santi will definitely go. Other than this morning's friendly he's had no game time and Uruguay were knocked out in the group stages with Santi having played no minutes.
Krejci out.
Santi out.
New LCB in.
Sa possibly staying.
Johnstone out.
Bellegarde out.
Boubacar Traore out.
Young dm in.
Cultured cm in.
Sasa Kalajdzic staying?
Hwang staying?
Thankfully other teams are struggling to bring players in.
01 Aug 2026 00:38:09
Wolves reject £30m offer for Krejci from Real Sociadad according to Fabrizio Romano.
01 Aug 2026 08:00:27
Was nowhere near the £30m we rejected, between EUR13m rising to EUR17m with add-ons.
01 Aug 2026 10:21:10
This is v worrying?
Wolves can't shift the deadwood, so to meet SCR rules might have to sell the only quality players left.
Selling two of your 3 best players - Gomes and Krejci - and only replacing them with 2, albeit excellent, pros at the end of their careers, probably means the side will be significantly weaker than last season.
Surely they can't be so stupid, as this would almost certainly end any lingering hopes of promotion and may lead to far worse!
Sadly, it is time to face reality of the situation and cut the prices on the deadwood to get them gone - the fees paid are sunk costs, and although some of these might incur losses, the huge profits on JSL and Gomes alone more than cover any PSR worries.
If PSR is even measured anymore?
However, losing their wages and amort is still v valuable, if not essential for SCR - the new rule Wolves have to abide by.
Re cash, having sold so many players in Jan and Gomes this summer, (plus whatever is raised from the deadwood sales), there should be - although with the level of losses Wolves incur, and maybe did again between Jan and now, you can't be sure - no immediate cashflow concerns?
Sorry to once again be talking finance, but it is unfortunately the principal driver of any football club's prospects - ask Eddie Howe!
01 Aug 2026 10:39:10
The overall problem is Fosun. Until they make concerted efforts to sell up and go, Wolves will struggle.
01 Aug 2026 12:00:14
Fosun leaving will be a joyous day.
01 Aug 2026 12:35:59
Wolves struggled for decades before Fosun came along. Will the next owner be any better? The system is almost fixed in favour of the top six.
02 Aug 2026 21:01:32
I don't think the deadwood is an issue as we sold Arias, Agbadou, Larsen and Gomes for £100 approx.
Salaries of Raul and Trippier may be £4m combined with signing fees. Even if you increase that figure by £2m, it would be low. Said cost £13m, on around £30k per week.
So combined the three signings have cost us £22m-£25m for fees and salary for the season.
This also doesn't include parachute money, which may be held back, so we have funds if we go back up.
So we can sign the players we need, but we are slow.
The main obstacle, looking at the squad, is the homegrown rule, as we don't have many experienced players that are homegrown apart from Bentley, H Bueno and Armstrong at the moment.
02 Aug 2026 21:59:32
Did Said cost 13mil? Thought he was under 10mil. Agree with everything u said, though we have money there, just don't seem to be parting with it for some reason.
03 Aug 2026 20:45:05
Tbf, mate, I'd always take the transfer fees and salaries with a little flexibility. Plus, there's the signing on fees and agent fees.
I'd say Said is on around £30k-£50k a week, so £2.6m salary per year, with bonus extra if he is on £50k a week.
Trippier and Raul are harder. Probs signing on fee worth £2-3m, then £70k-£90k a week.
If they were both on £90k a week, that's £4.6m a year each.
So, Said £13m (although signing fee probably split over contract), then £6m for Trips and Raul, and £9m for salary.
So, at a maximum it's £28m. Fans can look at the lowest possible cost, mid-range, and highest. I tend to go with the highest, as it will probably be lower, but don't know for certain.
My point was more, because of the sales, we can still invest in the players we need.
Cb loan
CM- signing
FW- Signing
FW-Loan
Can still have 5 loans, which is worth bearing in mind.
03 Aug 2026 21:53:40
I get ya, nice 1. Sorry, mate, I get uv added in signing on fee wages etc.
