Forest allegedly doubled the offer for Boly - so that's £2mill. Doubt we'll accept that but what do peeps think is a fair price for big Willy.

I'd look for about £3.5mill and look for a younger but experienced replacement of similar build.

If we do sign Kalajdzic and one other striker I think that and the above if we sell Boly and we'll have had a good transfer window (anymore to strengthen the squad depth such as another RB or defensive midfielder would then be a bonus).

1.) 23 Aug 2022 15:31:08
We were linked to Stefan Posch.

25 y/o Austrian who plays CB and RB for Hoffenheim.

2.) 23 Aug 2022 18:49:15
No Boly tonight so guess he is on his way out.

3.) 23 Aug 2022 19:15:43
Hi Guys,
Agree that Boly should be sold, i'm not sure how many more players we need just in case we loose Neto also.
If Boly and Neto go I'd like us to get.
1 CB, 1 Forward, 2 strikers.

I still think that we may need a full back in January if we have injuries but if we sell Boly and keep everyone else I could live with 2 strikers. Let me know what you think guys. FWAW.

4.) 23 Aug 2022 20:10:14
Agreed, with no Boly on the bench looks likely that there is a deal on.

Nice to see Ronan get some minutes later in the match maybe? He hasn't made a first team start since 2017/18 for Wolves right?

5.) 24 Aug 2022 06:21:49
I am a big Boly fan,but if he's too be sold then it would take a bid of £4-5m imo.

6.) 24 Aug 2022 17:23:54
Pretty sure it's the same injury niggling again. Another reason why we should sell him. He is becoming injury pron.e

Neves to Barcelona can only happen if Barcelona get the money for Frankie De Jong (but Man U know Barcelona are desperate and so are trying to pay less which then means Barcelona won't sell and can't therefore afford Neves) - unfortunately this is likely to mean Neves will end up at Utd instead which whilst we may get more money from Man U than Barcelona does mean he'd be playing against us next season (which I'd rather he wasn't).

Interesting article in The Mirror about Barcelona being €1bn in the the red.

Barcelona chief asks to "save" club with alarming £426m declaration Barcelona are deep in debts of €1 billion with the likes of Sergio Busquets, Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba having to accept a cut in their salary for over a year.

chief Eduard Romeu has made an alarming declaration claiming that £427million is needed to save the club from the mess they currently find themselves in.

The Spanish side are deep in financial trouble with debts in the region of €1billion (£849.5m). As a result, Barcelona couldn't afford to offer Lionel Messi a new deal last summer and the Argentine subsequently joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Despite securing the signings of Chelsea's Andreas Christensen and AC Milan's Franck Kessie on free transfers, the club are now unable to register the pair due to their salary cap, according to The Athletic.

"The number doing the most damage is asset imbalance," Romeu told Sport. "The negative capital of €500m. You could add €150m to that in losses this season if we didn’t do anything. I said it before, if someone wants give me €500m. That is what we need to save Barca."

First team players Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba have agreed to take a salary cut to comply with La Liga's salary cap requirements. The club were offered help by La Liga through a CVC investment deal proposed by the league, which Romeu revealed will be rejected by the club. "It’s a bad deal," he said.

"For us, despite all the pressure we have received and the Fair Play issue we always have to keep in mind. From a financial point of view, it's settled and I think the president [Joan Laporta] has been very clear."

2.) 13 Jun 2022 21:18:49
Isn't this old Debbie with the Spotify deal they have sorted this?
Don't get me wrong they don't have £250m to spend but if they move on some players that aren't needed for good value they can bring in players they need.
Just doesn't look like Neves will be going there. But will wolves sell to a prem team especially Utd or Arsenal that are relatively close to us in the league.

25 May 2022 19:01:35
If Neves is going to end up at Barcelona they certainly can't afford the minimum 70 mill we are supposedly asking for and so are trying to offer us players in exchange.

Now just cause young players can't get in a Barcelona team that need immediate success and so is full of current world stars doesn't mean there aren't young players who they don't want right now but who would improve our team, but I just can't see them finding players to make up Neves's value without said players being vastly over-valued.

This I feel is neither good news for us or Neves (who appears to want to go to Barca)

Wolfflea71

1.) 25 May 2022 20:09:30
I don't want Neves to go but if he does I won't begrudge him he deserves to be winning trophies.
We could say exchange Neves for 3 players plus Trincao from Barcelona those 3 players say could be what's needed to give our too comfy players a kick up the backside to give 100% every single match as their place will be more at risk in the team.
Also that'd free up some funds so we could possibly go for Paullinha for £20mill as quoted too.
I'm only pondering things here though.

2.) 25 May 2022 21:00:59
So was I Rated - I'd love us to get Palhinha as he's a bit different to what we've had before in that he's good both defensively and going forward so could be great with Moutinho and 1 other.

3.) 25 May 2022 22:15:52
After Shi dropped a brick over the Traore deal/not a deal with Barcelona I'd wait until they show the money before even starting the conversation. Don't trust them!

4.) 25 May 2022 23:50:42
Yeah Ken agree mate I think Wolves will want contracts agreed before doing any deal with Barcelona now.

5.) 26 May 2022 10:22:58
Yes need to box clever with Barcelona from now on.

6.) 26 May 2022 10:40:50
Not so sure about your assessment of Paulinha,Wolflea.Bit too dendockerish (new word for the dictionary?) for my liking and not of the ilk to help take us to the next level.

7.) 26 May 2022 10:47:24
Can't see Neves to Barcelona myself. Besides their financial problems they are overrunning with young midfield talent. Real are possibly more likely with Modric and Kroos getting nearer 40 than 30!

8.) 26 May 2022 11:13:29
Honestly can't see Wolves signing 4 or 5, apart from the fees their salary has to be paid and that costs. Think it will be a case of one in and one out, with a close eye on the budget.

9.) 26 May 2022 14:00:31
Not trying to be antagonistic here but what's the difference between the the Traore to Barcelona 'deal' and the Trincao to Wolves one? In both cases there was no obligation to buy, as I understand it, leaving the emphasis on both players to excel in order to facilitate a purchase.
That didn't happen so both are going home, so to speak.
Good relations with Barcelona will clearly be to our advantage going forward so just because those two potential deals didn't work doesn't mean that others won't.

10.) 26 May 2022 21:44:01
Oldwulf - yeah Palhinha is "Dendonckerish" but with better defensive and offensive stats (is that such a bad thing then for him to be an upgrade on a player who has been nothing but professional whilst at the club and has done far better than a lot of supporters give him credit for), personally I'd love a good player with Dendonckers professionalism. I seem to remember Moutinho praising Palhinha after playing together for Portugal earlier in the season (if he's good enough for Moutinho then I think he's good enough for Wolves).

11.) 27 May 2022 06:36:50
Palhinha is what we’ve been crying out for do you not remember how he bossed the midfield against ours for braga and created chances not to mention how good he was at the euros for me I think he will be an outstanding signing

12.) 27 May 2022 20:58:14
We have been watching Pauhlina for few years.
Excellent if we get him.
Fingers crossed ?

06 Apr 2022 23:01:36
I see we're being linked with Ocampos again and Saint Maximin although tellingly Fabrizio Romano is reporting Saint-Maximin is unlikely to leave Newcastle.

I'd suggest the Ocampos link is old news being regurgitated.

I doubt we'll sign any new wingers as we have enough strength there (including Gibbs-White and Giles who return from loan and may well get a chance next season).

I think we may see Neves go as the rumours of wanting Champions League football and links to teams likely to be in Champions League next year seem quite strong but if we do have to sell (and I hope we don't) this should give us money for at least two new central midfielders which may give rise to a change in formation to just 4 at the back with a strong defensive midfielder (like Paulinha) just in front for protection.

Wolfflea71

1.) 07 Apr 2022 06:50:18
Ocampus is a winger then great post wolfflea.
I read man utd urged to sign Neves,I too would like to see him stay with us.

2.) 07 Apr 2022 09:56:59
The wages Newcastle can now pay, they may have trouble offloading players.

3.) 07 Apr 2022 17:02:00
Saint-Maximin is a great player, but I reckon he's too similar to Adama Traore for us to be interested in.

4.) 07 Apr 2022 20:49:21
Saint Maximin may be similar but does have a better goals and assists per game record than Adama.
I'd rather we give Chiquinho, Giles and Gibbs white (and possibly Corbeanu) plus obviously the main choices Podence, Hwang and Neto chances next season though rather than spending big on wingers when we'd be better spending the money on other areas of the team.

24 Nov 2021 18:59:29
Fair few rumours we'll be back in for Botman in January - if Lille don't mess around again we'll be up against a few big clubs for him but in with a good chance supposedly.

Wolfflea71

1.) 25 Nov 2021 11:52:41
Let's hope so Wolfflea71, him and Kilman together, backed up by Boly, Saiss and Sanderson sounds pretty good to me.

Hi all,

Not posted for awhile but been reading all the posts.

I think we have a decent strike partnership already with Sasa and Cunha but agree we need 1 or 2 more upfront depending on where Fabio is next season. Sasa really needs to be given a fair chance by the fans.

He is not a flop as he hasn't played enough due to injury, his goalscoring record in year before joining us was really good so with decent service and Cunha playing off him could be really good.

As for defence I think we'll see more youngsters getting a chance alongside Dawson with maybe 1 experienced buy.

I also think we'll buy a new winger to add to Neto, Chiquinho and Hwang with Nunes playing more centrally.

Wolfflea71

1.) 02 Jul 2023 15:43:05
Makes perfect sense to me Wolfflea.

2.) 02 Jul 2023 18:59:49
Welcome back Wolfflea71, it's a nice thought about our 'strikers' but because Sasa is untested and Silva is potentially not yet on the same page can we afford a 3/4th season without a recognised goalscorer?

By that I mean someone who has been finding the net previously, wants to be here and is not returning from a long term injury. For me, that puts Silva and Sasa on the backburner a bit, subject to further closed season appraisal. If they work out then great but I still think Wolves will want to bring someone in.

3.) 03 Jul 2023 02:08:44
Completely agree with you Long. It would be folly to go into the season relying on the injury prone Sasa and the unproven Fabio. In particular I see Fabio as a bit of a glamour boy who doesn’t want to be here. Now I read that Collins and Kilman will most likely be sold. Where will we find better defenders in our price range? My finger is hovering over the panic button. Give me some good news Fosun!

4.) 03 Jul 2023 17:41:44
Evening to all wolfy's.hope every one had a good day.do u think we should sell kilman.if we can get between £30 to 40 mil.u think he got replacement lined up .wot u think of che Adams think he could be ok or use him to come of bench game charger.still think sa will go should get 15 to 20 mil for him.do u think they already got players lined up etc to come in.we really need to start getting players in next week or two.

23 Oct 2022 11:22:27
Hi guys, not commented for a while as everyone has seemed obsessed with getting rid of Shi/Sellars and maybe Fosun.

On a team front I'm about to make a comment which will be ridiculed but hear me out.

I think Hwang and Guedes are good players (reference Hwang tearing Van Dijk and Liverpool defence apart in Champs league whilst at Salzburg and Guedes's record at Valencia where as a winger/no.10 he averaged a goal every couple of games and countless clips of his mazy runs and goals).

For whatever reason (I don't think it's because the prem is a harder league) Wolves have struggled to get the best out of these players and then fans have got on their backs and they have lost confidence - this may start happening with Nunes aswell if we aren't careful.

So my comment is why don't we support these players more and cheer for them whilst they are on the pitch - we may see them do much better and actually replicate the form they have had elsewhere which can only serve to help our team (and worse case scenario boost their fees when/if they do go elsewhere).

Wolfflea71

1.) 23 Oct 2022 13:15:53
Talking of cheering Wolfflea it seems quiet on here about today's game. Teams just in and glad to see beuno keeps his spot. Mouts starts along with jonny. No start for maddison vardy (love em or hate em that's good news). It's going to be a tough pressure atmosphere but if we actually get our act together I think we will take the points. Can never predict these sort of games so I'll go wolves win by odd goal. Up for it, get ready for an afternoon COYW.

2.) 23 Oct 2022 13:24:08
Wolflea71
I think us fans do cheer and support all the players when they're on the field.
The Premier league is unforgiving and yes, Hwang, Guedes, and Nunes have all found that out. As for Hwang tearing the Liverpool defence apart. really? Guides and Nunes I think will ultimately find their Premier league feet but Hwang not really good enough.

3.) 23 Oct 2022 13:31:07
Sellars is the issue mate too much power, Shi needs to go back to the financial side of things where he is more qualified.
Hwang is a case of confidence I believe there is a good player there if he can get his confidence back.
Got a feeling Guedes will find the net today.

4.) 23 Oct 2022 13:38:58
Wolfflea71, I think most have acknowledge what Fosun have done for the club and many have no issue with Jeff Shi if he sticks to his strengths, which isn't football, really.

The downturn in Wolves began 2-3 years ago, in truth, coinciding with the changes to the senior management and some of their football related decisions. Some with the power of hindsight granted, but some were obviously just wrong and yes, there were good calls as well. The problem being it's the bad ones that do the damage.

Where does that lack of confidence within the team come from, is it lack of faith in the Manager, or a feeling of uncertainty within the club in general which affects them, the results and then spreads to the fans. In truth, football clubs are no different to any other organisation, it all comes from the top, the senior management sets the tone and therefore takes the praise and criticism in equal measure.

5.) 23 Oct 2022 13:41:20
My mistake, maddison does start

09 Jul 2022 21:57:45
This might be unpopular and most will disagree but if Neto and Jimenez start the season well I think Hwang could be the surprise and do far better than people think. With the three of them, Traore causing opposition problems and MGW,Neves and Moutinho creating and chipping in our goals for will improve quite a bit. I then think we might stick with 3/5 at the back as we haven't signed the players to change to a back 4.

Wolfflea71

1.) 09 Jul 2022 23:07:17
Don't disagree at all Wolfflea. In fact if Wolves don't sign the required recruits that's probably what will happen.

2.) 10 Jul 2022 02:20:16
Wolf- not controversial for me except I'm not sure we'll be lucky enough to start the season with Adama and MGW in the squad. Ironically I actually agree with you, if we could just get both to sign new contracts (for me) that would be like two exciting new signings. I know I'm in the minority but I think both still have plenty to give (but especially with where our squad is currently at, two keepers on the bench with five subs)?! Saddly I feel both ships have long sailed, hope I'm wrong! ?

3.) 10 Jul 2022 02:28:14
When Cutrone came on today he looked sharp and a lot better he even got an assist, lad seems to want to knuckle down now.

4.) 10 Jul 2022 06:13:10
Coady came on in the 2nd half yesterday in a back-four and by all accounts was all at sea.

5.) 10 Jul 2022 07:30:14
Would love it if Cutrone did finally click for us this season. The question is will he get the chance or has his boat sailed as well.

6.) 10 Jul 2022 08:19:38
Good posts, when you actually look at the players we have now, we have a decent side, if Curtrone could turn the tables and Traore and MGW stay, one more defender, and acting mid will do me,Curtro could be that no frills fox in the box we missed with some of the chances we created last year

27 Jun 2022 16:38:02
Was watching Skysports and they had a couple of interviews with some players at the Bobby Robson charity golf event in Portugal, the discussion was about Bale going to LAFC but one of the people interviewed for a Welsh perspective was our old goalie Paul Jones.

Seeing him (who hasn't changed at all in 20 years from what I could see) brought back some great memories of penalty shoot-outs and penalty saves in general.

Wolfflea71

1.) 28 Jun 2022 02:27:55
That's how most clubs tend to work loan out academy players to gain valuable first team match experience.

That was meant for Oxleys post above not yours Wolf mate lol, no idea how it ended up here I must have clicked reply on yours by mistake.

08 May 2022 18:47:55
So no hangover or feeling deflated from City then, Wednesday could be a great match as they could be missing Dias (sounds like he's done a hamstring) who would be a big loss for them and I think opens it up for Jimenez to do well against them.

1.) 09 May 2022 00:34:06

I'm hoping Michael Oliver is ref Wednesday as he don't take crap from the big 6 players and isn't afraid to send their players off if need be.

Your joking statto, I'll change my mind and go with phils reverse psychology then and hope for the best. Although maybe they'll want the race to go and give us a fair crack to let Liverpool back into it.

Likely the fact that they knew they were going to have to tighten purse strings back in 2021 but when Lopetegui joined was certainly not told this and so was essentially employed based on a lie as he thought he'd have money to spend to strengthen hence bids for Scott etc, but now him and matt hobbs know they have no money to work with having sold players for good prices thinking they'd have all or most of that money to reinvest. Wouldn't be at all surprising if he is reconsidering his position again as it's worse than he believed after he'd agreed to stay on.

Ask the players and GON definitely has an identity and vision they are working towards. Also bear in mind this is still basically the squad Lopetegui said wasn't good enough. The results against City, Villa and others show this isn't true so let's not get too down and slating GON after a few bad results. The season is 38 games and given our squad and the way we play we will have good and bad runs but our league position is maybe slightly lower than where we should finish.

A few decent ref decisions in the rest of the season will fix that though.

Agree with most of the ratings although H Bueno frustrated me immensely first half as every time he got the ball his first move was turn back towards our goal and play it back to Toti even playing him into trouble. Only once did he run at their full back. He slowed down several promising situations when a run at defender and whip in a cross would have kept the attack going.

Have to disagree saying Belle garde at fault for 1st goal, Lemina unusually let his man run in behind him which left us wide open, if he'd gone with him Iwobi wouldn't have had a tap in.

Doherty was a great signing, then a good sale and now a good resigning but let's not think he's the messiah just cause he got 2 goals against lower league opponents. It's a good start but unless he leaves I'd still have Semedo starting at the weekend.

I can't believe that nobody has said anything about when Dawson was wrestled to ground in area after ref had whistled for corner to be taken and just as it was ref stopped to speak to Anthony but surely at that point ball is in play so should have been a penalty. So by my reckoning we should have had 2 nailed on penalties not 1.
