Not commented for quite a while because I find it all rather depressing. I have little faith in Re but expect Fosun to keep him simply because he’s their cheapest option. The style of backwards / sideways passing we are playing simply won’t work with the standard of player we have now or will have next season.

We go nowhere and eventually lose the ball. All it does is allow the opposition defenders to get set. Our game needs to be based on getting the ball forward quickly and creating confusion in the opponent’s penalty area. Am I mad?

I agree with you.

2.) 06 May 2026 17:39:17
Not mad at all, Innocent. Makes perfect sense to me, don't think Rob gets it though.
We will continue to do the same in the last few games, unfortunately I think we will.
In the unlikely event that they spend money on new players, I would not trust Rob with any of it.
Surely even Shi 2 can see it isn't working with Rob and will make a change. I will give them the benefit of the doubt, as I assume they are busy identifying suitable candidates.

Wait a minute, this is Wolves and our owners, so no chance.

3.) 06 May 2026 19:49:15
It's exactly what Nuno did. Let the opposition try and attack, but remain in a solid defensive formation, and then hit them on the quick break. Rob Edwards is the opposite of Nuno.

4.) 07 May 2026 20:06:34
What we need to do is stop trying to play out from the back, as we're useless at it and don't utilise our speedy players to capitalise on the system anyway. Long ball up to Tolu, nod down to Armstrong, with Mane backing up. The new Diko, Afobe, Sako. ??? Championship is a different game to Prem.

At least 2 regular goalscorers are a must. Rob Edwards will be staying, unfortunately. See who else stays. Doyle returning will be ok in the Championship. Who else returns, who can adapt, and who comes in? I don't hold much hope. I can easily see a repeat double R. Don't say the word. ?

5.) 07 May 2026 20:17:29
I think Djiga, Doyle, Traore and Sasa will be part of the 1st team next season. I just can't see Fosun splashing the cash and supporting whoever the manager will be.

I have not posted more than once or twice over the past nine months because I have increasingly been filled with a deep melancholy about the state of our club. I can see no light at the end of the tunnel so long as Jeff Shi (a man with zero football pedigree) and Fosun are running the show. They don’t even have the decency to talk to us.

On any objective view, we will be relegated and I doubt Fosun will do any more than sell our better players and pocket the cash. Life in the Championship will be rocky unless we have new owners with a football understanding. I started supporting the club in the 1950’s and just feel terribly sad.

Hi innocent I totally agree with you. I am of similar age. It’s a disgrace what happening at Wolves. Wolves need an owner who cares about them. I think that this team would struggle in the championship. Let’s hope Fosun will go!

2.) 11 Dec 2025 13:51:21
I have supported our great club for over 50 years and today I have ripped up my season ticket and will not attend another game whilst fosun are in charge.
Here is my prediction for this season after 38 games.
Wins. 0
Draws. 5
Goals for. 20
Goals against. 90
Points. 5

I will not post on this forum whilst fosun are in charge because to be honest I am completely broken at the moment.
BEST SEASONAL WISHES TO ALL.

3.) 11 Dec 2025 19:03:42
I think we're all down there with you nick and your prediction may well be right, I'm just thinking we've got to win sometime to keep the interest going.
All the best for the holidays mate.

Three Wolves players on the pitch for Brazil at the same time! A few years ago you would have had to be mad to imagine it. Maybe things are not so bad?

1.) 27 Mar 2025 09:13:08
This is why so many of our players are always linked with moves away. There are a number of regular internationals and the quality of player at the club far surpasses what we had 10-15 years ago. We would still sell the best players to "bigger" clubs, but we had less quality to interest other clubs.

I think most frustration with the club is born out of a lack of revenue growth to help us keep competing especially as it seems to get more difficult year on year forcing our hand with some sales into a weaker negotiating position.

2.) 27 Mar 2025 09:23:04
I get what your saying but when you look at Brazils trajectory let's be honest here it says as much about them as it does about us!

3.) 27 Mar 2025 09:54:54
Brazil lost 4 1 to Argentina, it would be a first time if they failed to qualify directly, but by no means impossible as the group stands at the moment, Cunha scoring the Brazil goal.

4.) 27 Mar 2025 11:02:06
Acle - Although our revenue growth is disappointing it is not massively out of kilter with most clubs in the lower half of the table. What is madly out of line though is our cost base.
Our wage bill - the non football related part - is much higher than most in the league. Where does this money go?
Are the cleaners paid £100 per hour or are the catering staff on £150k pa?
Clubs like Crystal Palace, (I have previously discussed amongst others Brentford, Brighton and West Ham), have similar turnovers and far higher football wage bills. However their non football wage bill is 10's of millions less than Wolves. They thus make modest losses compared with our massive losses.
It is this that forces Wolves to make huge player sales on a regular basis and which has of course resulted in the fall down the table.
Control of non football expenses is a direct responsibility of Jeff!

5.) 27 Mar 2025 11:48:29
TFIOG could fees to agents be regarded as a professional services fee as opposed to directly included in the transfer budget? If so could that offer some kind of explanation?

6.) 27 Mar 2025 12:53:51
I remember you mentioning this before buddy, so who is it that's rinsing the books exactly?! Cause it just doesn't add up does it, cause it's not like we have a huge list of high profile back room staff?! I suppose what I'm asking: is this a way in which Fosun are (quietly) skimming off the top? Cause Forest recently poached Edu from Arsenal but I'm not seeing there staff costs spiraling? So where is the money going and what exactly are we getting for it? GON for example was one of the lowest paid managers in the league, I suspect VPs on a bit more but I bet it's still less than Lope was! Seems like someone's getting rich but not those that deserve it?!

7.) 27 Mar 2025 20:33:02
Arddunby I suspect you are correct.
BB clearly one needs to be careful about making unsubstantiated claims but those agents/consultants that we are paying may well be in another part of the Fosun empire and so entirely legal but hardly great value for the club.
To be fair whoever we are paying it isn't great value as despite the expenditure we are dropping like a stone!

Time to reflect on what a good job Vitor and the team have done. We were five points under the water when he came in, now we are nine above the surface. Over the last six games only four sides in the Prem have got more points than us. Some recent assessments of our players in these pages (notably Bellegarde, Larsen and Sa) now appear harsh. In truth all our players are fine footballers, it’s just that some are better than others. Sunny uplands lie ahead.

1.) 18 Mar 2025 09:05:33
The stick Larsen was getting was so unfair. He had no service, but still created space with his movement. He has the highest percentage of shots on target over shots taken in the Prem.
Quality and he's young and in his first season here. Cunha wasn't as impressive in his first season.
Vitor has got the team spirit back and is getting the best out of his best players.

Hopefully we'll have 100 million to spend from the sale of RAN and Cunha. That should get us a few of the best Brazilians and some young European talent. With luck we'll hang on to Joao Gomes and Andre.

2.) 18 Mar 2025 17:32:26
Larsen is a classic CF Tim, tall, has some ball skills, good in the air but does lack a bit of pace so he needs feeding. Put him in there with good supply and he will score, I'm sure, just like he did against Southampton.

As you imply I think it will be next season and beyond before we see the best of him.

3.) 18 Mar 2025 19:45:58
We will have to scour South America and Europe in the summer, but let's not forget the Championship, where there is both talent and potential.
Two central defenders spring to mind. There is the lad from Millwall, who's name escapes me, then there is Albion's Norwegian stopper, Torbjorn Heggem. Either would be worth a punt.

4.) 18 Mar 2025 20:17:17
And don't forget Southamptons Dibling.

5.) 18 Mar 2025 22:15:39
That'll be Big Sam then Lostcity.

6.) 19 Mar 2025 21:50:49
I agree Tim, I think Larsen is doing fantastic work for a first season in the Prem! He's currently on 9 goals meaning he will likely (at the very least) finish on double figures which for a first Prem season (in a largely under performing club) is fantastic! Also worth noting on this that Raul himself only scored 13 goals in his first season, so with a bit of luck Larsen could well go onto equal or even beat that with the games we have left. I've been very vocal in my judgement on the signings the club have made in the past but (like most this season in fairness) this deal looks like VERY good business to me! As does Agbadou BTW, who already looks like our best CB despite what by Prem terms was a VERY reasonable price tag! Keep up this quality of transfers and who knows we might even start pushing forwards again next season! Imagine such a thing! ?? COYW ?

Nine points from first sixteen games, seven points from next three. It’s a Happy New Year. My worst fears that Fosun would stick with GON or replace him with an uninspiring journeyman have been proved wrong. So thank you Fosun at least for that. Get a good CB in quickly and I think with our new manager directing things we can challenge any team in the league.

2.) 30 Dec 2024 17:33:53
Looks like
Kevin danso and Joel ordonez
Priority signings in Jan

3.) 30 Dec 2024 22:26:09
Sounds promising Greyleg. We desperately need a couple of centre backs.

Madness. The guy has a hopeless track record and has no knowledge of the Championship. On what basis can he be considered a better bet than RE?

For me, the issue of whether we are weaker or stronger than last year turns on whether we recruit a top class CB. The defence currently looks a real worry with inadequate experience and injury cover. It’s too early to panic but I’m starting to get a little scared.

I would have thought Mario was a required player. He’s under contract and a potential captain. There’s no way we will let him go for petty cash as it would mean paying a much higher fee to replace him. If I am wrong, the club is in trouble!

Good point, Derry. I get why the club replaced Edwards (although the way of doing it seems unnecessarily harsh), but surely you only do it if your replacement has a good track record - at least two successful managerial appointments.

What we've got is a guy with a series of failures, followed by one moderately successful season and zero experience of English football. I can't see it ending well.

On those numbers, Bully's, you might say Peixoto is less bad than Edwards, but I think Edwards should only have been replaced by a proven good manager. Peixoto doesn't do it for me. Let's hope I'm proved to be wrong.

Agree with you, Nandi. The fish rots from the head, and the key reason we are in so much trouble is that Jeff Shi had no football knowledge, but thought he could alienate/get rid of those that did, and run the show himself. As things stand, there is very little football knowledge at the top of the club, and for this reason, I am deeply pessimistic about prospects for next season.

We need a clear out and excellent recruitment in the summer. Do we have anyone capable of masterminding that? I fear we don't.

Good analysis as always Long. My simplistic analysis is thank God you’ve gone Jeff, your replacement couldn’t possibly be worse.

Appointing a new coach has been equivalent to changing the captain of the Titanic after it hit the iceberg. Edwards has no chance however good he is. Worse still our club has no future so long as the unqualified Shi is directing progress. Not one word of apology from him. It beggars belief.
