Does anyone know if there's any truth to the rumour that Wolves are seriously interested in chasing Franjo Ivanovic? I'd certainly wleome him with open arms if he decided to come here - strong, quick feet, brings those ariund him into playe and scores goals for fun. I know Benfica have had an offer rejected but it was a low one. How likely are we to get in there and gazump them, the way we've been beaten to the punch so often in recent years?
1.) 29 Jul 2025 10:25:51
I read that Pagham and although you never know, my advice would be don't hold your breath, unless Wolves prove to be really serious about this one.
2.) 29 Jul 2025 13:47:14
From what I've read Union want 21mill euros plus add on and a percentage of any sell on Benfica have only offered 17mill plus add ons. If Wolves are serious just pay more than Benfica to try and get deal done.
3.) 29 Jul 2025 16:12:30
Apparently it's all agreed. Flight and medical arranged, he's off to Benfica.
4.) 29 Jul 2025 16:49:58
Tim 156 does not surprise me one little bit Wolveas won't pay the money if over 25mill euros I've said before but that is if the Storey is true.
5.) 29 Jul 2025 17:04:56
Just seen were we interested in the first place.

I wasn't at the game yesterday and would appreciate an opinion from someone on here who WAS there as to whether or not Wolves fans were racially abusing Tolu. If that is indeed the case, I find that more than sad. It's utterly inexcusable. and would be regardless of which shirt he's wearing.
The problem is that some people seem to find it impossible to prevent their totally understandable disappointment and frustration from morphing into abuse and while I have never seen any hint of racist on this site, it would be naive of me to assume that there's not a single poster on here who is ever guilty under pressure of stepping over that line.
Tolu missed a penalty. Most people who take them will miss a handful during their careers, even club heroes like Neves and Jiminez. It was a tame effort and was particularly maddening because we all knew that a chance to go on and pick up three points away from home for the first time this season had been wasted. We all will have been devastated at the missed opportunity and the eventual outcome.
But come on. it was a missed penalty, for God's sake. It wasn't a criminal dereliction of duty. I don't even know if Tolu was the designated penalty taker before the match (and I'll admit he wouldn't have been my choice because for all his endeavour, work rate and strength he's not most people's idea of a technical player), but several players in a Wolves shirt have missed penalties down the years. And even if some braindead so-called supporter thinks he looked too casual and disinterested in his approach to the ball, that has nothing to do with the colour of his skin, his ethnic origin or any other fanciful excuse these morons might want to come up with.
Tolu never comes off the pitch without having worked his socks off. Ask those defenders who have come up against him and I doubt very much they'll tell you they had a comfortable afternoon. Many will still have the bruises.
We've looked much more effective in getting forward since he started doing Larson's job for him and defensively he's been a rock. How many times against Palace was it his head that got to the ball and cleared the danger for us?
He will be hurting and angry now. If I were in his boots, I'd wonder why I'm putting myself through this if all the reward I'll be getting is abuse about my origins and family from the very people who are meant to be supporting me.
I know it's a tiny minority but sometimes that's all it takes. Please. can we all be a bit more considerate of the feelings of the players who run themselves into the turf each week for our benefit? And if we ever hear racist abuse aimed at a player on the pitch in ANY shirt, I hope we'll have the courage of our convictions and do something about it.
This is not virtue signalling. It's common human decency.
1.) 23 Feb 2026 12:01:24
Not sure if it was our fans or not, but it was online abuse, some of which Tolu screenshotted and shared to show the extent of the problem. Like you say, it is genuinely sickening that this s*** is still happening and a problem in 2026! I hope they are getting a knock on the door from the police this week. ?
2.) 23 Feb 2026 12:01:38
Excellent post, Pagham!
3.) 23 Feb 2026 13:05:01
Exactly, at the end of the day, it's a game of football. There are more important things in life, but it's amazing how this game sucks you in and gets the emotions rolling after a game.
That being said, it would be nice to think the authorities and the social media companies will do something, but the low life losers will just make other accounts and hide behind their screens. Coyw.
4.) 23 Feb 2026 16:19:13
Not our fans, no. It was some online trolls who have been located in Nigeria and South Korea.
5.) 23 Feb 2026 16:25:33
Thank you for the prompt replies, guys. Much appreciated.
6.) 23 Feb 2026 21:35:26
No problem with fans criticizing Tolu for having a very poor game. However, don't criticize him as a man. I'm sure he was doing his best, but nothing went for him. The person to take the most blame was whoever made him the penalty taker.
Kreji, Armstrong, or Mane should have been given the job. Someone who did not do their homework regarding his previous record with penalties.
7.) 24 Feb 2026 17:53:04
Pagham, what a stunningly beautiful place you live in, I assume!
8.) 25 Feb 2026 12:31:38
Nice enough, TFIOG. Stunningly beautiful might be a bit of a stretch, but it does have the advantage of being only 400 metres from the sea. I do often wish, though, that we were 300 miles closer to Wolverhampton, so I could get to Molineux more easily. It's why I'm so grateful to you guys on here who help me stay in touch.

Pagham - Thanks for the ratings report.
2.) 20 Feb 2026 18:51:20
Pagham a fair assessment, but I hope I'm not wrong here, but I think the pass for Hugo Buenos goal was from Santi Bueno.
Endozie was by far not the only player mis passing, the first half was terrible for it.
RE must indeed take credit for the gusto and energy now being displayed, but we've also got to be honest with ourselves and see how bad we've been, forest away awful,
we've still got fosun and players will be cashed in and RE may find it a little harder than we think back in the championship.
A good end to this season is all we can hope for now and then see how committed Fosun may or more likely may not be.
Wolves no matter what, COYW.

My mistake, Abbey. Thanks for the correction

Larson is a huge disappointment this season. I'd like to see the stats for the distance he covers because he seems to spend a lot of the game ambling rather than sprinting between defenders as they pass their way around him. His first touch when trying to hold up the play and link up with others is shocking and, worse than that, he never seems to jump for any high balls to provide possible flick-ons, preferring instead to back into the defender and try to 'outman' him.
He, Hwang and Arias all give away idiotic free kicks which immediately relieve any pressure we might be trying to build and deny our defenders any chance to get orgasnised. I understand that the service he receives is often inadequate but there is no excuse in my book for not putting in a decent shift and I feel he shortchanges us on a regular basis.
I had him down as a possible captain or at least a leader on the pitch at one stage because he seems to have a high profile at the club and a strong personality, but ever since the possible Newcastle transfer fiasco he has done very little to demonstrate his commitment and I really don't feel he's worth his place at the moment. 60 million? Do me a favour.

I couldn't agree more Pag and also couldn't have put it better myself! I was one of the posters on here saying we couldn't sell, because at the time with 14 goals last season he was the ONLY proven outlet we had! As it turns out it would have been more use starting virtually ANYONE in his place as he has been entirely anonymous! The cynic in me can't help feeling that after turning down Newcs bid that JSL has quietly realised that his no doubt (very) cheap relegation release cause is his best chance of escape?! I'd like to think not but like you say right now he looks like he just can't be arsed! Also like you say there is no service, however that doesn't excuse his complete lack of ANY kind of work rate! Last season he was pushing the line and closing defenders down, whereas this season when you watch him it feels like the TV is working in slow motion!
I'm afraid that it's all part of the same illness, which is an absolute apathy and lack of care/passion for our beloved club! I'm not excusing anyone but Jeff has been the man to bring this into the club and now we are seeing it festering in players like JSL! Relegation might be a technical word Jeff but so then is disgrace, so you won't mind me saying that you Jeff are an absolute disgrace to our club! ?
2.) 17 Dec 2025 16:00:01
Completly agree Pag mate he seems to have downed tools, i'd ather he just went on strike then went next month tbh.
3.) 18 Dec 2025 09:54:21
Pag, bully, rated, put so well totally agree. I too thought he may have been a leader but compare him to tolus effort and its obvious he dosnt care.
4.) 18 Dec 2025 10:22:55
Pag and Bully. If JSL has virtually downed tools then he is a fool to himself as well as to Wolves. Any club interested in signing him will be scouting him in every match this close to the transfer window.
What will they think of his performances and would they be signing someone who might down tools again? The best look for a striker is to be working hard and scoring goals even in a poor team, obviously.

If Anthony Taylor is the ref for the Palace match, one thing our boys should have drummed into them is that there is no point falling over and screaming for a free kick the moment there is any sort of contact because he can't stand that. He tends to let a lot of physical challenges go and we have a few serial offenders who are happy to throw themselves to the floor at the first opportunity and lie there pleading for some sort of justice.
Every time they do that, they then have to stay down for at least 30 seconds or end up looking ridiculous, which means that by the time they realise they're not going to get the free kick and drag themselves painfully to their feet they're out of position and unable t o get back in time to help out.
I'm not suggesting for one moment that we are serial offenders and there are certainly other clubs who are far worse but if we want to get the ref on our side we need to be a bit smarter than we are at times. And there's nothing more likely to antagonise a stubborn official like Taylor than an apparently mortally wounded player making a Lazarus recovery within seconds and suddenly able to sprint 50 yards to make a challenge. We need to know our officials and be a bit more streetwise.
1.) 20 Nov 2025 11:27:15
And yet, Pagham Hugo would have had a penalty if he had gone down according to all the pundits and independent refs. Its all fake and feign, true honest play as gone, but it was sweet to watch Denmark wasting time the other night which ultimately gave Scotland the opportunity to get the goals to beat them. (ok not all added time, but it was nice to think so).
Seriously you're right no one should be able to
or think they can get a free whatever by feigning it and they look a lemon when they miraculously arise.
The amount of so called 'head' collisions seemed to have risen this year, and it is a serious situation but these fakers may diminish the quick assessment true injuries require.
Get down hard on these pretenders but how/who do you prove em wrong?
16 Dec 2025 10:34:06
Did you not watch the Arsenal and Villa games, Ray? By all means offer criticisms of their skill levels but accusations aimed at their willingness to fight are a bit harsh. They ran their socks off and nearly nicked a result off two quality sides. If their skill levels were as high as their endeavour, we wouldn't be in the state we're in at the moment.
03 Feb 2025 10:25:48
Hard to tell from highlight reels but he looks like a big unit who loves a tackle and a block and is good in the air. Maybe offers more physicality to our midfield and a willingness to get from box to box. I guess only time will tell but if nothing else he doesn't look as if he's one to shy away from a challenge
18 Jan 2025 10:36:51
Agree 100% Wolfthistle. Good in the air, strong in the tackle, good eye for a pass and his first instinct is to get the ball forward rather than back. He'd be a terrific signing if we can get it over the line.
18 Jun 2024 10:43:18
I know highlight reels on You Tube can be misleading but, given his age, this looks like a really exciting signing . even more so if Chelsea were remotely interested. The boy looks to be a genuine prospect, a terrific athlete and an instinctive footballer. I just pray it's not another Fabio false dawn. Well done to everyone connected with bringing this signing to fruition.

My brother is a diehard Leeds fan and is in absolute despair every time Bamford's name is on the team sheet. One absolute screamer against Peterboro last weekend doesn't make him a PL striker . or even a good Championship one. Not for me, thank you

Spot on, Longmynd. I understand and sympathise with your reservations about Angel Gomes in his first few matches, and, like you, was much more encouraged by his performance when he came on as sub last night. I wonder if I was maybe being a bit too unrealistic in my expectations of him, taking it for granted he would settle in immediately, and start putting in the sort of performances that earned him a handful of England caps a while ago. He's been playing abroad for a good while now, and the adjustment to the pace and physicality of the Prem almost certainly needs time and another level of fitness.
I think he worked well with Joao and Andre, knitting things together and getting us upfield in a more coherent manner than we managed in the first half, where we either dithered on the ball while trying to play out from the back, or resorted to hoofing it into vacant territory for Armstrong to chase. He strikes me as a fairly diffident sort of character, and maybe he just needs to feel he's totally accepted by his fellow players and fans alike. A few more contributions like last night may just do him the world of good.

How good to see a Wolves player timing his run in at the far post and scoring. His instincts were immaculate. RIP Diogo . always in our thoughts
