Surprise surprise.

An Independent Key Match Incident Panel has found that Man City's 1st penalty against us last week was the INCORRECT call.

Bare in mind the detrimental effect this had on the team and how after such a decision, the team were probably scared to make a tackle due to Pawsons horrendous and now confirmed wrong decision, what action is going to be taken against Pawson?

The answer is: Nothing as the incident would only be scrutinised if it went against a Big 6 club.

Howard Webb "We're sorry, hope this helps"

10 May 2024 13:16:40
About time Wolves grew a pair and kicked up a stink and took legal action against the Prenier league, both Forest and Brighton would back us, I suspect a few other clubs would too.

10 May 2024 11:00:22
How do you think Wolves will line up on Saturday. Nothing to lose, Does O'Neill give some youngsters a run or field his strongest eleven. Palace have improved under their new coach so it won't be easy.

10 May 2024 11:10:40
I'd say he'd like a strong finish as it is the last game of the season at The Molineux.

10 May 2024 07:27:23
Interesting to see West Ham being linked with every Sevilla player Wolves were previously linked with when JL was our manager.

Upshot: nonsense stories.

10 May 2024 08:48:39
Too true Jack
One I read that tickled me was Fabio Silva could go to West Ham as he hotbon with lopetegi, you couldn't dream them up they that such nonsense.

10 May 2024 09:22:40
Typo,
hotbon should of been gets on .

10 May 2024 10:12:00
Personally, I hope the Kilman to West Ham rumour is true.

09 May 2024 16:37:53
Excited to get to a Pre season game living close to the location for the west ham game is. Be interesting to see how they do in the USA

10 May 2024 06:20:14
A good PR exercise vbwolf.glad you will get to see them live!
On a different tact, with Villa losing last night, the myth the Premiership hierarchy like to project, that it is the "Best League in the World". is exposed. No Premiership side in any of the European Finals.even the 3rd tier!
It is a mess, VAR, Club Ownership, FFP, devaluing the FA Cup etc etc.

10 May 2024 08:46:59
I wouldn't like it to be cancelled like it has been last few years.

Fairplay vb if you can go and see us.
COYW

10 May 2024 11:15:11
It's a mess alright rugeley, they tinkered with things not broken and shattered it, will they let it rebuild, will they let teams and players play the game instead of interference? No. They'll carry on rummaging around to extract more cash from the crock.
Back to USA its obviously a PR visit but it should be a good tester for GON to assess and identify players. Brings my memories back to the newcastle man city tournament we won in Asia, patricios cut head and penalty saves, enjoyed watching that, hope this will be available too and everyone hotbons phil.

Not footie, but one for the biker fans, I think there are some Wolf Bikers. I am currently travelling through France in the Ardeche, Auvergne and part of the Cevennes. All very mountainous with fantastic views, plenty of hairpins and sweeping curves. Frequented by many bikers of a certain age having a ball. I wondered if any on here had ridden this way. Longmynd, Ken etc

08 May 2024 17:38:19
Lucky you. I and my brother went down that road 1980. From Paris to Marseille. The last ride in France was down the N85 Napoleon route a couple of years ago. Have a nice ride. Keep on the right side of the road.

08 May 2024 19:09:09
WimborneWolf. I’m not a biker, never have been. But I envy you having that freedom and scenery. I think I speak for all Wolves fans on here, when I say - enjoy yourself, but please take care in those hills and hairpins. Ride safely buddy,

08 May 2024 22:40:39
Hi Wimbourne, sounds like you're enjoying your trip. I think I drove that road many years ago but sadly not on a bike. Maybe I'll get to do it on two wheels one day as I've been thinking about a good overseas ride.

Plenty of good rides here in the meantime so looking forward to a better summer than last. Plus, my bike isn't exactly what you might consider to be a tourer, lol.

09 May 2024 10:35:04
My daily bike had a breakdown just before leaving home so I used my BSA spitfire down to Corfu. Just don't tell your bike it's not a touring bike and it will be ok.

09 May 2024 20:30:56
Few years ago we did the Pico's in Spain back into Santander then through the Pyrenees into France. Had a great time. Ferry back Cherbourg to Poole.
Last year and one for you to consider. We did Black forest Germany B500 Baden Baden through Switzerland, along many of the passes. Austria, Belgium, then back via Holland. Again, great riding. There's also the Wild Atlantic way which is great, and of course Scotland, which is fantastic.

10 May 2024 07:36:14
A Spitfire, now there's a proper bike.

I hope this is true! After the Rangers v Kilmarnock game, our very own Fabio had a bust up with the Killie first team coach and punches were allegedly thrown. Someone called ALEX RAE!

07 May 2024 18:14:37
Sorry Alex is the `Rangers coach

07 May 2024 22:36:00
Haha. Well we will soon know if it's true cause if it really was Alex Rae they will be sending what's left of Fabio back in an envelope! 🙈🤣

Just wanted to add my thanks to the Eds for keeping this site orderly and respectful, unlike some.

I would also like to sympathise with those who have had enough of travelling long distances only to witness the slow demise of the game in the Premier League. The absurd levels of spending which encourages cheating plus the inexplicable and indefensible refereeing/VAR decisions all taking their toll.

Personally, I don't get to the Molineux as much as I would like these days but still invest plenty of time and emotional energy following my club. I can live with losing, I can live with injuries and dips in form or even managerial failings, but all the other stuff, nope. That literally puts some teams in a 'can't win' situation and that is just not on.

Let's see if the League applies appropriate punishments to the 'top' teams as it did to those from lower down. Let's see if the proposed changes to VAR improves it's validity. Let's see if we can get through a season without the words referee and corruption appearing in the same sentence.

Am I hopeful? no not really, so for me, the jury is well and truly out, one more season with the absurdity of this one and I'm probably done.

{Ed001's Note - that's really sad that people have had enough, but I do understand it. I find myself watching much less football than I used to. It is just not as enjoyable.}

07 May 2024 02:17:40
I find myself watching the lower leagues these days mate, next season i'm going to go to Bilston town fc matches, i'm done with the Premier league I will always love Wolves but I just can't put up with the corruption of the Premier league anymore mate.

{Ed001's Note - lower league footie needs more fans and the people involved in the game actually do it because they care not for the money. It used to be that people would go to their main team when they were at home and then a lot of them would just go and watch local teams when they were away. That was what kept local football going and why we have the ban on televised games at 3pm on a Saturday. The game at that level deserves better - more people going along to support and better support from the highest levels of the game.}

07 May 2024 07:23:01
Absolutely, Ed001/Rated we used to go and watch Walsall if Wolves were away. No one ever truly walks away from their team but fans need to be more proactive, imo.

Money will always corrupt I suppose but the technology is there to help the officials get it right, like in other sports, not create another way to get it wrong. So let's hope lessons have been learnt and refs get back to controlling the game and not the result, this ain't wrestling.

{Ed001's Note - one of my coaches as a kid was a Walsall fan and worked for them as a scout. Or Smallsall as he always jokingly referred to them.}

07 May 2024 08:58:05
VAR/referees - Learn from the rugby set up if we can 🤷🏼‍♂️

07 May 2024 09:50:04
Football the game should flow not stopping for 2 or over minutes everytime it goes to VAR.
This needs to be resolved amongst the other changes to what's needed.

Re Walsall, My dad used to take my bro and I to fellows Park when were young kids.
Remember my dad telling me how to Remember the capital of Poland its down the road Warsaw (walsall).

{Ed001's Note - that is spot on Phil. The reason football is so good is its flow. American sports are boring to me because of their stop start nature. Whereas footie you can get caught up in the ongoing back and forth without having to stop so some fat knacker can get another hotdog.}

07 May 2024 11:19:08
Var will never work, it’s only useful for “matter of fact”, individual fouls can’t possibly be isolated and looked at on screen by someone who’s not even in the Stadium, only the ref and his assistants including the see what’s going on between players, refs let some things go, some players deserve to be fouled because they’ve “got away with one” themselves, refs can take a look at the screen if they think they’ve missed something, how many officials does it take to referee such a simple game as football? We used to referee ourselves when we were kids, we knew the biggest lads were always right, worked better than VAR though.

07 May 2024 12:24:58
Exactly BosWolf mate var works really well in rugby, on Netgen tv there is a rugby channel and during a var check you hear the conversation, the ref also explains to the players what is being said and what is happening.

07 May 2024 13:26:24
Rated I get your point but are the refs, even the top ones sufficiently familiar with the rules and is the FA/EPL guidance robust enough for an in stadium discussion to take place!

07 May 2024 15:05:22
Ed001 gosh we almost came to blows then! As one who identifies as both "fat" and "knackered" I was about to get the old boxing gloves on! But the in the nick of time you said hot dog, never eaten one! If you'd said pie you would have been in trouble mate!

As for VAR I hate it with a passion. For me part of the game was always having a beer after the game and treating the referees performance like that of a player! All 23 men ( plus women now I guess) do their best but they are human and mistakes happen. Live with it, our game is fast just how we want it and errors will occur. Get over it, it's what I loved, now it's being ruined!

West Ham used to have class! Lopetigui announcing himself as their new manager on the BBC website in his interview with Baggage his Spanish spokesman is utterly classless! David Moyes did not deserve that. I do hope it all ends in tears!

{Ed001's Note - sorry Ken, I apologise for the confusion. By the way knacker must be scouse slang, I never realised, it just means something like fool, idiot, or similar, so clearly not you.}

07 May 2024 15:46:03
Ed001 no need to apologise, I'm still laughing! I wasn't in the least offended just gave me a reason to go off st a tangent. Actually I suppose it would be interesting to see how much food sales go up during VAR interventions! A profitable consequence of a terrible system!

{Ed001's Note - you jest but one of the reasonings things like stoppages for VAR and water breaks were suggested in the first place was for exactly that purpose. Why do you think clubs are so happy to have a stoppage so Muslim players can break their fasts during Ramadan? It is not altruistic, they know that there are Muslims in the crowd who will also buy food and drink for that purpose, as well as the usual people in the crowd who nip for a drink or bite to eat.

FIFA actually had a look into all kinds of things that could be used during FIFA tournaments. There was the usual things that can media coverage, such as splitting the game into thirds or quarters etc, but breaks for video replays of match events was in there as a suggestion.}

07 May 2024 16:46:52
Ed001 it's the disease of the 2000's everyone from government down interfering to fix things that don't have anything wrong with them! I find all the interventions in all facets of life, sport etc etc so annoying. The micro managing of our daily lives is becoming quite intolerable. Thankfully most of my life has been lived so probably won't have to put up with it for many more years!

07 May 2024 17:06:25
It also means something that is worn out Ed001, usually due to overuse or age. Lots of us can probably admit to that.

07 May 2024 19:04:55
You've hit the nail on the head there Ed. It's not about a game of football anymore it's being treated like a TV show with Ad breaks. They've ruined the sport to line they're already full pockets and we're the mugs for paying.
Ken, never imagined you as the fat knacker type, but reminded me of a time we went to QPR away, years ago now, queued up for pies, everyone in front walking away with steaming succulent pastries. Got ours which felt warm but on trying to bite in found them frozen solid in the middle, no chance of getting back for a refund.Then we found ourselves seated with a bloody great piller blocking the view of the goalmouth. We tried thawing the pies in our hands, between our legs and wrapped in our bobble hats (told you it was a long time ago). They ended up on the the floor on the way out. Never bothered with a pie since.

Intriguing posts. All true from the heart and the brain.
I moan as much as anyone, I admit it
, and as much as I don't want to, but the only way to put, our case across, is by declining, to go to matches, decline buying merchandise, stop funding the very hand that feeds us.
Our beautiful game is no more
The enjoyments gone
So why watch it.
We the people
Have the power to do something about this, cloud that hangs over football
The hardest part is to get everyone to stick together
We all want the same thing
Our game back

08 May 2024 08:08:12
I will give JLOP 3 months before he throws his dummy out of the pram if he is the new coach at West Ham?
He will find David Sullivan far more difficult to deal with than Jeff Shi.
After leaving Wolves 3 days before the season started and now announcing in the media that he is the new coach at West Ham leaves one with agreement that he lacks any sort of class.
Have a thought for David Moyes who has done a great job at West Ham and the club are in a much better situation than when he joined.
But hey this is all about the soap opera called the premier league.

08 May 2024 08:13:28
Won't happen greylegwolf, the tv companies and entertainment business will still subscribe to it. Overseas tv subscribers etc. The football going fan may effect the atmosphere in the ground but it'll still be shown and advertisers will still pay to be seen. Plus, as love is a drug, it'd be hard to turn our backs on our team and they know that.
