nobody talking about Sanson then? Considering you are talking to Marseille about him now.

Where did you read this Ed001? I can’t find anything online (barring past articles)

{Ed001's Note - from the lady who does Marseille's negotiations, via Ed002.}

2.) 21 Jul 2019 18:33:44
Not exactly a Super Dave Edwards is he Ed. And we’ve already got a number 8.

3.) 21 Jul 2019 18:37:24
None of us are ITK that's why.

4.) 21 Jul 2019 20:10:49
We already have a no.8 have you heard yourself vino? We need back up players you know, i'm sick of so called fans like you being negative at potential signings.

5.) 21 Jul 2019 23:12:09
Sanson is a goalscoring industrious midfielder, exactly what we are missing. Neves, Donk, moutinho, saiss and even Gibbs=white are good link up players but don't bomb foward to finish the move off.

6.) 22 Jul 2019 00:44:26
A bit like Super Dave Edwards but not as good with his head.

7.) 22 Jul 2019 03:49:26
Interesting that there are no wingers being linked with Wolves, considering two senior wingers were sent out on loan (with a view to buy)

{Ed001's Note - it is difficult to find things out from the Wolves side, usually you can get info from the agents involved, who want to get as many clubs involved as possible for their client's sake. In Wolves case, the agent has a vested interest in just getting the players into the club quietly and quickly, so it closes off one of the main avenues for getting info from. While Jorge Mendes is a nice guy who will happily chat if you bump into him, he is a clever man and does not give out info unless he wants it known. So the only real route to finding info is the selling team, which makes it a lot more difficult. That is why so little is known about Wolves' moves. They could have 20 wingers lined up and it would be unlikely anyone in the media would get wind of it, unless they are lucky enough to have someone in the selling club giving them info.}

8.) 22 Jul 2019 09:14:04
I didn't think we actually played with wingers now, that was this issue with CAv and Costa, they weren't good enough to fill in up front for Raul and Jota. Our only real winger is Adama and it looks as though Nuno is converting him to wing back, if succesfull he will be devestating.

9.) 22 Jul 2019 10:47:07
I agree with Wolfypete11 we have an excellent midfield but none are attackers even Neves only scores long range a mf like De Bruyne or Shaqiri or even Dele Alli would work well - even as a sub like Traore.

10.) 22 Jul 2019 12:35:23
Cooler boy is correct. Out and out wingers are redundant with Nuno's preferred system of 3-5-2. Shame about Cav and Costa, to my mind they would give us options when we find it difficult to break down lesser teams who park the bus.

Sorry Ed001, we won't have 20 wingers lined up. Mind you, I've counted about 20 whingers recently complaining about the lack of signings!

In Nuno I trust. Three matches against Man City since we joined the PL, lost one, drew won and won one! The signings will come.

{Ed001's Note - I wasn't saying you have, I was saying it is very unlikely anyone in the media would know.}

11.) 23 Jul 2019 12:51:52
Very unlikely anyone would know in the media, Ed001 as you say. The media seems to be guessing 95% of the time. The worst news site to my mind is HIPC.

What keeps me interested (and other fans too I guess) is that we might be reading the odd report that's on the money 5% of the time.

How can the team who lost the play offs be promoted. I, for one, hope they get beat, so Rob's new Wolves turn them over next season.

2.) 23 May 2026 15:12:29
I agree. Rewarded for losing with a chance to play for the Premier League. They could have made Borough play Wrexham for a spot in the final instead, or said Hull should be promoted, as they are the only team to win a playoff game. Not much money to be made doing the latter though.

3.) 23 May 2026 15:59:22
That's a good idea. Wrexham being added instead of Southampton, and continue playoffs: keep Hull in the final, and Borough play Hull 1st, then the winner meets Hull in the final... but they didn't have the b******* to do it right.

4.) 23 May 2026 16:01:14
This is why I have never agreed with the whole playoff system.
We have the team who finished 6th (Hull) threatening legal action if they lose the playoff final! Madness.
It is time it was scrapped and promotion should be granted on a top three finish.

5.) 23 May 2026 16:13:12
Yes, I agree with the Wrexham idea, should never have just reinstated Boro. They lost the second game against Saints fair and square. Hoping Hull win, plus Ryan Giles plays for them. Thought he was a good player we could have kept.

6.) 23 May 2026 16:30:31
Given the unprecedented circumstances in this season's playoffs, there is no right answer. However, the team promoted through the playoffs has to play three matches. It would be unfair to give Wrexham a bye direct to the final. The solution arrived at may simply be the least-worst solution.

Whatever, there has to be a final, and in doing so, Hull will be playing their required third match. Another solution might have let Southampton continue, and fine them massively if they won, like £100mil to wipe out ill-gotten gains, or a large points deduction if they didn't get promoted.

7.) 23 May 2026 17:10:53
Thing is, Goatmark1, it could be argued that Boro didn't lose fair and square as you put it.
The whole thing is, did Southampton 'cheat' by watching Boro? The EFL say there's enough to say 'possibly', so, like it or not, Boro won the right to be in that semi, and by default they get the final.

Don't get me wrong, I'm willing Hull to win, watching as I type, but it could go either way with a fluke goal as it stands.

8.) 23 May 2026 17:25:19
Easiest thing would have been to allow Southampton to play the final, and if they won promotion, deduct them 3 points for each confirmed charge (9 points) and a £20m fine. If they lost, they start the Championship season with minus 9 points and a similar fine.

9.) 23 May 2026 17:35:05
I thought the spying happened before the first game, Abbey, so I assumed they didn't have an advantage from that in the second game, but you're right, it's a bit dubious either way.

10.) 23 May 2026 17:54:40
Justice prevailed in the end.
