Realistically it's 3 from 5 to go down given the fixtures it needs a miracle but has done for sometime. If someone can find some optimism I am full of admiration. For me it has been inevitable for some months.

I agree Mike, this team needs a complete turnaround in performance which needs to be maintained until the end of the season and I just don't see it happening. Regardless of new arrivals who will need time to settle in the manager has a real battle on his hands getting this squad to perform consistently.

2.) 18 Jan 2025 18:26:59
Well I'm going for ptimism Mike and derry. We've got the next set of games where any points can be seen as a bonus, and I think we'll get some. If we look back at Newcastle we created enough chances to have won the game, not for the first time either. We didn't have cunha or samedo to begin with, then there was hwang being a liability.
OK the defence was atrocious granted and cost us the game, but I fully believe that with agabadu now having some time to adjust and with some frank talking to they'll tighten up.
Not saying things will go hunky dory, well be inand out of the drop, but we'll have enough to get survival in the end I think.
As someone said below, true fans have got to get behind the lads and not give up hope.
Keep the faith. COYW

Doesnt look good tho when bournemouth go to newcastle and bury them.with a fwd who takes his chances.makes our result look even worse and bmouth top6 along with forest.something really wrong at our club i'm afraid

4.) 19 Jan 2025 07:24:44
Don't like to admit it Bux but Bournemouth are a class apart from us at the moment. You've conveniently overlooked Newcastle's 8 game winning run and, but for poor finishing, we'd have got something out of the game and the Forest one beforehand.Things are obviously bad but thankfully they are also bad at 4 other clubs.

5.) 19 Jan 2025 07:34:54
That's true bux, but bournmouth aren't playing with the fear of the drop around their necks. Also and here is the common problem with us, their defence is organised, whereas ours is lacking. Sometimes our forwards are trying to be too precise instead of unafraid to miss. As VP keeps reiterating into a mantra, confidence confidence for sure.

0-3 are you watching GON?

So far so good ?

2.) 22 Dec 2024 16:16:10
Well done Vitor and the players. Long way to go but a good first step taken today.

Have Fosun made the calculation that less will be lost in terms of value of the club in the event of relegation than would need to be spent on new players to save us? Afterall they are a conglomerate and therefore all about money.

mikebayleaf 1

1.) 05 Dec 2024 15:25:03
I doubt it Mikebayleaf1, in the Prem £500M in the Championship about £100-150M Plus whatever they rake in from top player sales and wages. I think they would still lose far more if relegated.

2.) 05 Dec 2024 16:11:45
I honestly can't believe Fosun haven't sacked GON. Can only mean they've resigned us to relegation this season. Goodbye Fosun and all our better players.

3.) 05 Dec 2024 17:24:26
It does make ya wonder doesn't it, not a conspiracy theory or anything but it does make ya wonder what was agreed. I do wonder if when we sold our best players and GON still signed a contract he said 'OK I'll stay but I want 4 years and a LOT of patience cause this could get messy'?! Sounds silly but I honestly think the ONLY reason he's still in a job is cause Jeff knows no one else of note would tolerate our insane approach to transfers?! ?

So Fabio Silva was forced to play a more physical, defensive game in the Premier League, vis his performances were not his fault. More like he couldn't hack it because he wasn't good enough. The sooner he finds a new, permanent home, the better.

1.) 22 Nov 2024 08:14:49
Oh but he flourished in Scotland didn't he (not) Mike, what utter tripe, he wasnt muscular or strong enough and was out of his depth with both us and rangers and I hope he now finds his comfortable home abroad too.

2.) 22 Nov 2024 10:25:53
A big money failure, and only one of several occasions where the club have literally thrown money away.

3.) 22 Nov 2024 15:03:54
Unfortunately Derry your right. Might just have well flushed £35 Mill down the toilet. Absolute waste that guy.

4.) 23 Nov 2024 10:23:44
People mention the Sevilla moment where it all started to go wrong for Wolves but the squandering of £30-£35m on him was really when it went tits up in my opinion.

5.) 23 Nov 2024 12:00:47
Silva was never ready for a premier league debut but because of Rauls serious injury he was thrust into the team and clearly was ready, to much pressure was put on him to deliver, when he couldn’t it all went pear shaped for him .

6.) 23 Nov 2024 14:30:59
Clearly wasn’t ready that should say

I really don't understand Wolves summer transfer activity and I give three particular examples, Lima, Gomes R and Andre. I suspect the answer will be they have been bought for the future but after pre season at least Gomes and Lima must be really hacked off. Both performed well and neither gets a look in. If the team was doing well I might understand better but sadly not the case.

Andre was bought to start and had very positive reviews but now is nowhere to be seen. Does this imply that GON and Hobbs are on different pages. Time for a change as a no risk approach is not working and just wasting millions. If we don't perform miracles in the next 6 games then I fear we are down. Time for a change of approach and Manager methinks.

mikebayleaf 1

1.) 17 Nov 2024 14:59:31
Totally agree we need a change

2.) 17 Nov 2024 15:00:47
How do you think we will do against Fulham

3.) 17 Nov 2024 16:49:09
I get where your coming from and I agree that both Lima and Gomes look like good prospects. The problem is that Semedo, whether fans like him or not, is one of our better performers meaning Lima will not get many chances. Hopefully he will use this season to learn his trade and will be able to replace Semedo if, as expected he leaves next summer.

Gomes I feel doesn't fit the current 352 system and will rightly feel aggrieved.

Andre should be in the team but who does he replace? Lemina or Gomes? Or does he play in the Conor Coady position as a kind of Sweeper/CB in front of a back 4.

It is a conundrum.

We also have Meupiyou to consider (if he ever regains fitness).

Let's see what GON has in store for them.

4.) 17 Nov 2024 18:11:40
Why on earth did we buy another goalkeeper that at best is no better than what we already have?
The previous transfer window was baffling

5.) 17 Nov 2024 19:27:03
Tim156, because Bentlley and King are not Premiership quality. Therefore no real cover, Johnstone may not be better than Sa, (though I personally think he is marginally better) be he certainly is no worse.

6.) 17 Nov 2024 19:37:53
I would be starting gomes and Andre and drop Lemina who has been off the boil. They play together in Brazil so think they could form a good partnership. I would also play R Gomes as he has pace and puts in a great cross and was meant to be a replacement for Neto. I don’t think he would do any worse than our need for an attacker to help out Cunha.
Also given that we have atleast 3 players on 4 yellows I am sure we will be playing all those mentioned pretty soon.

7.) 17 Nov 2024 20:56:53
Eastmidswolf, but we spent 10 million on a goalkeeper that's not a certain starter. Surely we could get a backup much cheaper or a certain starter for a little more. Given the imbalance in the squad, surely the cash could have been used more productively

8.) 17 Nov 2024 22:41:53
Not sure where we'd find a premiership quality keeper (even an average one) for less than £10m. And we most certainly did need a second keeper, also I believe it was a surprise to many that Sa didn't go Saudi way in September.

9.) 18 Nov 2024 00:07:38
I think both keepers are about the same, this season at least. Sa has more potential to be better but isn’t achieving the numbers of previous seasons and it seems Johnstone’s save percentage is a little better than Sa’s currently. Feels to me that Sa will be moving on and hopefully for more than £10mil so could be good business if it works out.

As for the others I’m sure they will get more game time, I’ve said it before but I don’t see many players that join a team and go straight in to the line up. Most players take time to adapt. Doesn’t mean Hobbs and GON are on different pages. Just means the manager doesn’t think the players are quite ready, like most managers with new players. For example, Brighton signed a load of players in the summer who don’t play every game. Does that mean their recruitment is bad? There was an article about West Ham recently where some fans are also questioning why their summer signings aren’t playing much.

10.) 18 Nov 2024 11:13:57
Sa was and still may head for Saudi Arabia, so Johnstone was expecting to be first choice I suspect. Why any deal fell through who knows.

11.) 18 Nov 2024 14:23:48
Sa very well might be gone soon. What would have happened if he left the last day of the window last summer?
You have to look at the situation when the decisions were made, not looking back with 20/20 hindsight.

Judging by his farewell message he clearly didn't ever see himself as a Wolves player. Like with Saudi probably just taking the dollar. Well IMO we are better off without him. Have a nice time in the free society you are going to. Worth every penny I suspect.

Dendonker would give flexibilty at the back and in midfield. Never let WW down IMO and when he played we rarely lost. I'm in for this one but if true it shows desperation.

Ipswich appear to be paying £12m plus £3m performance based add ons. Market value is a subjective matter. Can only assume WW didn't really want O'Shea and have someone else up their sleeve. If not trouble ahead as the CB's aren't good enough.
