Although he brought some life to the team, I think we should sell Mane if offered the amounts being discussed. I would also try to get him back on loan with that sale for a year in Championship as he will probably sit the bench for other PL teams.
1.) 09 Mar 2026 16:36:21
The sale of Mane will offset losses in ticket renewals. No use re or players talking up next season while Fosun say, and more importantly, do nothing. As for a promotion challenge, where is the optimism coming from? What is it based on? We have only been promoted to the top tier six times since the war, including a stretch of twenty years 1983 - 2003. In 1967 we made it back after two seasons away, after which we had a ten year exile. Other promotions came in 2009 and 2018. Promotions are few and far between, and only achievable with owners, management, players, and fans all on the same page, all wanting and striving for one thing.
With Fosun and their policies we are a million miles away. Rob is not going to fare any better than his predecessors, and either he will go or they will. Money is on the former. Fans of a certain age who have followed Wolves through thick and thin, 1965 in my case, will be extremely fortunate to see top flight football at Molineux ever again. We were convinced, promised even, that our time had come. Let down again does not come close. These owners are on a par with the Bhattis, and are very close to being a mirror image of the Venkys, whatever they want the club for. Football is a long way down their list of priorities.
2.) 09 Mar 2026 20:08:14
We will be one of the big teams next season. We need to start acting like it. We need to be buying and loaning players to make us bounce back. Fosun want to be back in the Prem straight away, so they can keep making money. I think we will give it a good shot next season.
3.) 09 Mar 2026 20:08:38
Well said, Ron, a lot of people who are saying we will bounce straight back up don’t realise what a hard league the Championship is. I don’t think we will be among the big spenders either. We are in debt up to our eyeballs, so any player sales/parachute payments will go towards that, not buying top-end players. I’m hoping some bored American billionaire with more money than sense buys Fosun out and we never see them again.
Put it in perspective: when we were competing in Europe under Nuno, Wrexham were effectively a non-league club. They could come up this season while we go down, and yet some of the happy clap brigade, especially a certain YouTuber who seems to be cropping up on BBC, Sky Sports and TalkSport regularly (Mr Dazzling Dave), still think we are staying up and Fosun have done a grand job.
4.) 10 Mar 2026 10:38:16
Absolutely spot on, Ron. I could have written that myself (including the 1965 bit - well 1964 actually, but let's not split hairs).
Being sold is the only hope we have. It'll happen at some point, but will we see it in our lifetime, and will they be good owners or bad?
Fwaw.
5.) 10 Mar 2026 13:47:47
I think we will give it a good shot, and be challenging for promotion next season or the one after. We won't be signing top-end players, as such players will want to stay in or move to the P/L. I see us paying down debt at the same time as supplementing the squad with a shrewd mix of buys: the odd top-class older player coming to the end of his PL career, mixed with promising young lower-cost signings, and a proper evaluation of the academy prospects.
Restore pride, if you will. Rob Edwards can demonstrate in his remaining PL fixtures whether he is the right man for the job or not.
6.) 10 Mar 2026 16:12:50
Agree there, Deep Throat, but we've got to live up to our literally 'big name' everywhere we go.
Wolverhampton Wanderers on the fixture list will be one to win for opposition pride in the first season despite a lack of proven players, and life won't be easy.
In fact, our name alone may be a hindrance in climbing back to the Prem, let alone RE and his team.
7.) 10 Mar 2026 19:43:40
Yes, Abbeywolf, the relegated teams will be the ones targeted in the Champ. We're bigger than Burnley, and possibly seen as pretty much level with Hammers or Forest, so the opposition will be all out for our scalps. Bring them on, it's the only way, sink or swim.
8.) 10 Mar 2026 23:08:19
I wouldn't concern yourselves whether we are bigger than Seat Ham or Forest, as it looks likely it will be Wolves, Burnley, and Spurs for the drop, especially if, as rumoured, they are targeting Ryan Mason as manager. You only have to look down the road to see how bad he is.
06 Mar 2026 01:21:20
BTW. I quit watching Wolves games two weeks ago after the CP game. Everyone can thank me.since they win when I don't watch!
Had I known that was all it took I would have started avoiding their games on TV in September.
1.) 06 Mar 2026 08:04:45
Well make sure you don't watch tonight then NJ, or it might put you off watching us again.
Not because it'd be a jinx, but I fear tonight's result might be vastly different from Tuesday's.
Liverpool are wounded and will be seeking revenge. I'm not sure we can play with the intensity we showed, and unless Rob Edwards has something special up his sleeve, they'll know what to expect.
I'm just hoping Van Dyke will lose it and get sent off or something.
However, who knows? A double over the reigning champions in 3 days would be remarkable for us, and funny things can happen.
Coyw.
2.) 06 Mar 2026 11:59:59
Not sure how Liverpool will approach the game, but I suspect it will be their strongest possible side, as they need this as much, if not more, than us. We have no choice really either due to squad depth, so it may prove to be pretty much a re-run of the league match, selection-wise, minus Andre.
I think playing teams like Liverpool is perfect for Wolves right now, as we seem to be rising to the occasion again, especially at home. It will be nice to watch the full game on BBC 1 tonight rather than just the highlights, and as for the result, cut out poor defending and sloppy passing and why not?
3.) 06 Mar 2026 18:51:06
I'm thinking it could finish a draw and then on to penalties! Will it be Sa or Johnstone in goal? No Andre, so does that mean Hwang will get a chance in a more jelled team? Think he needs it.
4.) 06 Mar 2026 19:17:36
Johnstone the answer there, Bos. Tulu, Hugo, Toti, Bellgarde starting too. It will be an interesting game. If we make it to 0-0 at half time, I'll be a little more confident.
5.) 06 Mar 2026 20:52:06
Predictable 1st half. We've done well in containment, but if only we had a better vision at times when we could break.
Dunno how RE can/will change things in the second. Rigardo is the obvious option, Hwang possibly another option in the middle up front to get pace in for breaks? But Armstrong would be my choice there if changes are to be made.
6.) 06 Mar 2026 21:45:41
Liverpool 3-0, so Re throws in the towel and brings Hwang on. Not got a lot up front, but now playing with nothing up top. Even Mane looks ordinary tonight, but got nothing apart from J. Gomes with him. Best centre half we have is on the bench, certainly missed Andre.
21 Sep 2025 01:27:51
I am still optimistic we will be fine to stay up, but I think a turnaround will be slow. I agree with many that Agbadou is not playing well. I think he needs to be benched for a couple of games to sort his head. Comments about Sa to be dropped are interesting since so many posters absolutely trashed Johnstone last year. I prefer Johnstone over Sa, because he is quicker, better to clear crosses around the box and better with his feet. I believe he would have punched the DCL header away and I also don't think he would have been beaten on the free kick. In place of Bellegarde I prefer Arias or start JSL with Tolu to see if they can start to mesh together.
1.) 21 Sep 2025 07:09:18
I think all we have the moment NJ, is hope.
2.) 21 Sep 2025 07:09:27
I always believed that in recent years NJ, at some point in the season they will turn it around and survive at this level. I think we all hope for that to happen again this year but it's hard to see who's likely to lead that revival at the moment.
A lot of talent left again during the Summer with little evidence so far that their replacements, in the main, are good enough. Is it them, is it VP's team selection? It's hard to see the wood from the trees right now but the chances of us picking up any points during August and September always seemed remote to me and so it's transpiring.
Everyone will have an opinion of course but I think we all know the root cause of our progressive 'decline' or should do.
3.) 21 Sep 2025 09:16:09
Totally agree NJWolf.
For a long time now I’ve said we needed a replacement goalie and, having seen Johnstone in action recently, he IS the better choice.
Don’t know why Agbadou has lost his confidence but we need him as our rock at the back. Don’t like Toti and the jury’s still out on Mosquera.
What happened to our team spirit? ?
4.) 21 Sep 2025 09:25:43
The transfer window was our downfall, scrambling around in the last week and paying over the odds for inferior players. Krejci was offered to another club for almost half what we payed, clubs knew we are run by amateurs. Do they even scout players before doling out millions? We buy a centre half and play him in midfield yet we have a c/half who is a liability at the moment.
5.) 21 Sep 2025 11:05:51
Krejci was mainly a midfielder at Sparta and scored 13 then 8 goals in consequetive seasons before moving to Girona and playing at centre half. Bit like Saiss. Having said that I think my nan, who'd now be in her 130's, would do better than our three centre halves from yesterday!
20 Sep 2025 18:42:07
Everyone calm down. We will be fine. VP will sort the defense. I expect some changes in mid week vs Everton.
1.) 20 Sep 2025 20:21:55
The problem is that the defence was worse today than it has been the last two games. For your premise to be true things should be improving and that just isn't the case I'm afraid. We were unlucky against Newc but today we weren't, we didn't look like scoring often enough but they scored three fairly easily, not good enough at home against one of the weakest teams in this league! And to be honest I couldn't care less about the team against Everton, that's a cup game what mattered was a win (or even just not losing) today and we didn't even turn up! ?
2.) 21 Sep 2025 11:15:23
BullysBoy ll just put a post on the Everton game not through yet have a read see what you think.
14 Sep 2025 16:49:27
MU v MC game today, both Cunha and RAN not in lineups due to injuries. So, if they had been w Wolves they wouldn't have helped us yesterday.
1.) 14 Sep 2025 18:51:00
How did you come to that way of thinking if they were both still at wolves it would off been a total different situation and they might not of been injured
2.) 14 Sep 2025 20:00:34
Exactly what I was thinking James.?
3.) 14 Sep 2025 20:12:45
Then again maybe they would have gotten a different injury or they would have scored 3 goals each for Wolves. Lmao
4.) 15 Sep 2025 08:08:00
It's still raining out then. If it hadn't been I'd of gone out.
5.) 15 Sep 2025 14:23:34
As long as we have this obligation to play Whang we are snookered. If that is not VP idea he shou!d walk away he's on hiding to nothing . Hwang wouldn't get a place in any other Premier club. If it's the choice of VP then we should get ready for Championship football. It's sad the way the club has unravelled.
06 Mar 2026 01:10:47
I agree, Abbey.
I don't like it, even if it does help Wolves next year. I was ok with one playoff between 3rd & 4th, but they keep expanding and it's too American style.
The problem with American pro leagues is that too many teams get into playoffs, and it devalues the regular season.
This will be very similar. It is a cash grab by the league. Probably because of too many American owners now.
This will also help the Top 6 in PL to get even weaker opponents if one of the 5th-8th best in the Championship wins promotion due to a short playoff run.

I watched the replay of the game and replays of replays.
Although I don't think he should be on the field much, if at all, Hwang wasn't terrible. He started pretty good, but then his involvement dropped as the half went on. He had a terrible pass on an attack that turned into a goal opportunity for Spurs. I think his reaction to that turnover determined VP to make a change. Bellegarde added some energy.
Santi had a great game. He was hustling all over the pitch. Even after the tying goal he made and impressive tackle on the right side, made a perfect pass to Munetsi (I think) in middle and then made a good run to the right wing all alone. Unfortunately the ball was distributed over to the left side into traffic. The goal against was not his fault, he was marked to back of the player who laid the ball off. It was just an unfortunate great shot by Palhinha. Johnstone didn't have sight so he had no chance.
I like Doc, he is smart, but when opponent has a pacey winger, he struggles to keep up at times. That led to his YC with a reckless tackle. Bringing Agbadou on was the right call. Agdabou played ok.
Jackson needs to be starting on the right. His pace causes trouble and he is aggressive and willing to make crosses into the box. If we put both JSL and Tolu together, those crosses will be converted to goals.
The 1st half we got lucky a few times as Spurs almost had a couple of goals. But we dominated the 2nd half, better possession and more offense and less sitting back on our heels.
I still think we are working on our best 11 and formation, but it is getting closer.
24 Sep 2025 17:22:27
True Abbey, that understanding of teammates movements is something that takes time with new players. I have mentioned before with so many new players it will take time to gel. It isn't always poor runs or movement. Sometimes the player on the ball doesn't see it or anticipate the move and rather than take a gamble, they instead pass sideways or back to maintain possession. I do understand the frustration but sometimes our overview from above on TV is easier to see the pass, whereas on the field the view of player w ball is not as clear. As you know there is strategy in moving the ball side to side. The opposition may not move their defenses adequately and leave an opening for a through ball. Many think it is pointless, but that isn't really the case most times.
24 Sep 2025 15:34:38
Gig. What game did you watch?
I also question when people complain about passing sideways/backwards or say there is no creativity. There are times when the pass forward is not a good option and opposition has shut down passing lanes and need to reset before going forward again. If you keep possession, the opposition has less chance to score. Regarding creativity, there is creativity many times with ball or player movement, but it doesn't end up to a goal. So be careful to separate lack of creativity from lack of goal scoring success.
20 Sep 2025 20:15:15
I still think we will survive.
