There's a rumour that Lemina will go to the Saudi league.
People are saying he has fallen down the pecking order with the new coach but I think it is too early to tell.

If they can get anywhere near the fee that was paid for Neves and it means not having to sell Cunha or Gomes then the club will probably sell.

2.) 02 Jan 2025 19:20:12
Suspect we would drive him there ourselves if that was achieved.
Fear we will do well to get our money back as he has only 6 months left on his contract and is 31?

3.) 02 Jan 2025 20:18:32
TFIOG in which case if we can only raise a nominal fee is it worth moving him on at all? He may have more value as a squad player.

4.) 02 Jan 2025 21:13:22
Agreed
Last year he was brilliant - sensational - as good as any DM in the league worth a multiple of the fee we paid - circa £10m I think?.
For a variety of reasons he seems to have lost his way but for me unless we can get somewhere close to that £40m mentioned above we should be both seeing if he can be rehabilitated under the new manager and trying to get him to sign a new contract.
He can be a superb player again and as you say at the very least a great squad player who costs us nothing in transfer fees!

5.) 02 Jan 2025 22:29:39
I think we have to find 2/3 spaces in the 25 man squad if we want to bring in 2/3 new faces inc 2 defenders. If Sarabia and Mario go free in the summer then taking any sensible fee might be part of the strategy (funds in and spaces for new signings. The other space will come from mosqueras absence. Midfielder rumours also make sense in this scenario.

6.) 02 Jan 2025 23:57:32
Indeed it might and for me Sarabia - v high wages but modest output - would def be one to go, if we can get any fee!
But for the reasons above I would probably prefer to lose slow Traore from the midfield area if, when he is fit again, we can get a reasonable fee for him, rather than Lemina for pennies - which is all I fear we will get this Jan.
If you are looking for others who might go to create spaces in the squad sadly Dawson is probably done and will leave in the close season.
Semedo is out of contract but again, as he reamins a solid option in the squad, I would try and get him to resign - albeit on lower wages - as we can't afford to pay fees and these players resigning are "free" transfers.
I also gather Johnstone will go this window to Spurs - hopefully on a transfer rather than a loan as they are in a "hole" and we should "take advantage"
Indeed there are probably several others that will/could go before I would lose Lemina - but that is based on the Lemina of last year which I hope we can recover under new management.

7.) 03 Jan 2025 12:47:07
If I was in charge, I would get rid of Johnstone and Cundle with Sasa and Traore loaned out.

We would still have Sa, Bentley and King as GK's.

The Midfield would not be weakened neither will the forward line.

But, importantly, the sale of Johnstone and Cundle will free up 2 spaces for the required 2 CB's we are looking for.

I certainly hope Shi is going to the training camp. We need his expert opinion so we can have a chance at finishing in the top half of the table.

Haha so true Handsome! Let's just hope there is enough for the new coaches to actually do, after Jeff 'the chosen one' Shi arrives at the training ground! Too funny! ??

2.) 10 Jul 2025 16:43:15
I've heard that Jeff Shi is our new number 10. One of the new coaches has been brought in to work one on one with him to get him up to speed with the Premier League. It's also seen as a move to help us sell more shirts in China. That's he real reason he's at the training ground more now - he's brought his boots.

Wow. Jeff Shi and Fosun have assembled quite the team.

HandsomeLad5

1.) 20 Apr 2025 16:37:59
The trick is.
We need to keep most of the team
Can fosun do that
And recruit a few too?

2.) 20 Apr 2025 16:40:27
Well said, some of the players we have a first class. I esspecailly enjoy watching J Gomes with his celebrating his defending. Glad fosun made the call to replace the manager. Really hoping they back him in this summer, feels like his expectaions are a good fit for us, not the biggest spenders but some quality purchases and VP works wonders with what he gets.

3.) 20 Apr 2025 17:36:14
Undoubtedly we've got some special players and we need to retain them alibi with Vitor.
The impression I get is that discipline is back along with the pack spirit which is all important.
The connection to the fans, the points then pints relationship brings the club home as it were.
Wouldn't it be nice if Jeff and his Fosun bosses showed the same in their ownership?, but yes, despite the critics they've saved our prem status again.
So pleased, so relieved, COYW.

4.) 20 Apr 2025 19:05:55
Great result, another 3 points which is all that matters really but that game for me was The Good, the Bad and the Ugly:

The Good - Sarabia, that's the talent he has, outstanding free kick.
The Bad - Man Utd's finishing
The Ugly - Bentley, he seems slow and gets nowhere near the ball
unless it comes straight at him. Not mobile enough for me.

Still up to 15th now with daylight growing, I always thought they would recover to about 14th, we'll see, but definitely on form at the moment.

Gary O'Neil nominated for November Manager of the Month award

Nice on Handsome but what is weird for a team in our situation Matheus Cunha occupies three slots in the MoTD goal of the month awards.

Let's close the gap to 7 this weekend.

HandsomeLad5

1.) 30 Nov 2024 06:04:57
More importantly let's get 3 clear of the bottom zone handsome, that's if results go our way of course.

2.) 30 Nov 2024 12:12:03
Dawson, Bueno, Johnstone and Sarabia all available today. It will be interesting to see if GON sticks with last week's team or brings in a few of the returning players.

3.) 30 Nov 2024 14:06:41
All on bench wandering, same start as last week I'm glad to say. Let's hope we get a similar result, with the same bits of luck too!. COYW

VP needs a long term contract like Gary and Bruno did.
Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.

I don't see Wolves spending that much on a goalkeeper. How much did they spend for Sa?

Some people are addicted to it. Some people just don't get it, I guess. Or they just don't care. Sad.

I find when Messi doesn't have the ball, he seems disinterested, too.
