Gonçalo Guedes has officially joined Real Sociedad for €4m initial fee + €2m in add-ons.

His Wolves career spanned 3 seasons, gaining 51 appearances and scoring 7 goals

In my opinion, Guedes' style of play is more suited to La Liga compared to the immense physicality of the Premier League.

Fair comment Maestro.
Despite the massive, even before wages are taken into account loss on the deal - both from the initial fee and even his amortised book value - it is probably the right thing for all parties.
Unlike some I, as you clearly do as well, do see a player in there, but not, presumably due to the physical nature of the game in England or other reasons, for Wolves.

Probably more down to attitude and a reluctance to join Wolves in the first place. Didn’t VP comment about his training and motivation last season? Lessons should be learned from the signings of Guedes and Nunes when there’s a lack of commitment/desire to play for our club. Hoever is another example when he failed to be available for Bruno Lage over fitness issues when he was still in a strop over Klopp letting him go.

Just reading that Juanlu Sanchez does not want to join Wolves at the moment. Why are we bothering?

4.) 05 Aug 2025 15:27:35
I hope he changes his mind and we tell him to F*ck off.

Wolves actively looking at Millwall Striker Mihailo Ivanovic to try and compete with JSL.

Wolves also looking at RAN replacement - Clement Bischoff of Brondby. Brighton are also watching him.

Some of the latest transfer news:

- Rayan Ait-Nouri has changed his representatives, singing on with CAA Stellar. Lots of clubs are looking at him (if we can get good money then I don't mind)

- Wolves are interested in 19-year-old striker Matviy Ponomarenko from Dynamo Kiev.

- Wolves have joined the race for Joaquin Panichelli, a striker from Deportivo Alaves. He scored 20 goals in La Liga 2 on loan at Mirandes this season. Chelsea are also interested.

- Wolves are also apparently looking at Abdoulie Manneh. He is a 20-year-old Gambian attacking midfielder who plays for Mjallby AIF in Sweden. Bournemouth, Brighton and Burnley are also admirers.

Overall, looks like wolves are looking at signing some very fresh, young talent to build up some squad depth, which is something we desperately need as well. With the Cunha deal almost complete, hopefully Fosun will spend some money on the window to strengthen us for next season.

I don't agree with this nonchalant attitude towards RAN. For a few reasons yes he has been poor defensively with missed tackles and poor position but which defender hasn't in the prem? He has been left open as the club tried to develop a high press over the past 3 years. Any wingback looks poor when they lose the ball with cbs with no pace (Dawson, Toti (who I rate BTW just isn't quick) or Bueno around them.
His goals and assists have kept us safe and he is a top 5 wing back on his day. His skills and pace make him unplayable.
Just feel the defence being left short and change of formation at points makes him look even worse than he actually is.
TAA who is different gravy also get slated defensively if fans can't see what brings to a team I'm dumbfounded.

I do find it funny how the rumour mill works. Just over a week ago (6th May) the club confirmed that they wanted to talk contracts with Ait Nouri, he then seeks new representation for said negotiations (as he is absolutely within his rights to do) and all of a sudden it's cause he's on his way?! Ok then, but is it not entirely possible that he's getting a bigger/better agent just cause he wants a bigger/better contract? Also like Madman says I wouldn't be in a rush to lose him, doesn't seem to matter how many times we make the same mistake some don't seem to learn?! If we sell our best players every summer then we can sign all the 19/20 year olds we want but sooner or later we WILL run out of luck and get relegated at some point! ?

We will be after every bloke and his dog at the moment season tickets are due

Exactly BullysboyII.
Realistically we need a cb (which would be a concern if we had injuries), and two forwards if Cunha is leaving. Another position I would look at is a attacking midfielder to breakdown teams when they go defensive against us.
That is my prediction if the squad stays similar to as it ends this season minus Cunha and Sarabia.
Points to note I realise Djiga signed in January and Mosquera should return this summer. I feel it's a risk relying on Mosquera next season. Absolutely tremendous talent and physical player but it's a risk relying on him playing every game after the injury this season.
Djiga similar in that great profile and experience for a young cb but it is a step up playing prem football every week.

Other question marks of RAN, Hwang, Sarabia, Johnstone and Sa.

The club look like they have kept Semedo and hopefully Sa stays as well although a big contract offer from Saudi would tempt any player.

I hope the club keep RAN as mentioned above but Lino from Athletico would be a great addition.

Sarabia has deserved to move on I hold no grudges he has shown passion and kept standards high in two relegation battles and in difficult circumstances. Thank you Pablo.?

Hwang is an interesting one as the fans remember the loose balls but forget the season he scored so many under GON and was our best pressing forward that season. He is injury prone though.

Another player forgotten is Fabio Silva. He is at an age where he can be properly judged on his development (believe Kane made it at spurs aged 24 so Silva still has 2 years leeway).
But I would imagine Vitor may want to look over him again. As a man from Porto and having experience at Porto I think he could be a good mentor for Silva. The line needs to be drawn in the sand though. I know it sounds risky but at 22 in July and a cost of £35m he is far cheaper to develop whilst at the club than letting him go cheap. Also a player a similar age proven would cost double to sign.

I have left Dawson, Guedes and Johnstone out as they seem motivated to leave.

A couple of options I would look at: Jota and Neto (I know sound mad) but Liverpool seem really keen to move Jota on (he would be worth 10-15 goals a season for us). Neto this sounds strange but I think Chelsea need to move him on they have too many options and maybe he hasn't done enough in his first season. It would also free money up for a Chelsea striker which they will be keen on. A cb I'd look at Veiga at Chelsea currently on loan at Juventus think he would be a smart addition at the back.
A creative midfielder is probably the hard one someone similar to Sarabia but stronger. I think we made the wrong decision on Trincao and feel this would supplement the creativity in the squad.

Kelleher at Liverpool would be ideal to bring in if Sa leaves.
I quite like Elliott as well can play a few positions and always looks like he is trying to do things.
McAtee could be a good option as well good relationship with Doyle.
This could be big if Vitor goes for a midfield 3 in certain games next season. I agree I think it's over complicating things but it may be an option.

Theres a few wide ones as well though I fancy Vitor to go for a few Brazilian players to add to the flow of the system and to make it more entertaining. I also have high hopes for Mane let's get the deal done keep working hard young man it will come together soon. ODCL

I totally agree with you Madman, and I think Rayan is a brilliant player who has been a great servant to the club, however there are a lot of speculation around his future at the club which is why I think getting some really good money for him will be helpful and then we can bring in someone like Lino like you said to fill that void. I also agree with what BullysBoy II said about how we need to bring in someone experienced top-league-proven talent. We need to strengthen our squad depth so we need to bring in some more experienced players like Sarabia and Santi Bueno to help the team late on in matches.

Good post Madman, lots of interesting variables and possibilities within a plan. No doubt VP has similar thoughts along those lines to keep to his style. I think it would be daft to unload RAN, just because the is not the full deal. He makes many contributions to attacking moves and assists. We do not have the luxury of being in the market for perfect oven ready players, and cannot keep unloading good players in the vague hope of getting a better one. Building on what we have would be a welcome change.

Very exciting times to be a Wolves fan. Samuel Lino looks like the perfect replacement for RAN, maybe a hint that Fosun are looking to replace him? Plus the fact that Feyenoord want to keep Hugo Bueno, Lino looks like the perfect man to step up and fill that role. He looks like he will fit perfectly into VPs system, so I am buzzing with this rumour. Hopefully the Fabio Silva swap deal can allow us to get him for a bit cheaper.
