When Wolves are relegated they have to sign Ryan Giles. Obviously that requires Hull not being promoted to the PL. He’s ex Wolves, he played for Rob Edwards at Luton, and his crossing ability has always been top draw. Wolves won’t be keeping both Moller Wolfe and Hugo Bueno.

Thanks, BB II. Giles has only just turned 26, so he’s got plenty left in the tank. He’s quite good defensively, but he’s excellent going forward. Wolves need players who are proven performers in the Championship.

If he could replicate his form at Boro the year before he went to Luton he would be a fantastic signing as, (as you say), he was a top player in the division that year.
Haven't followed his career since but see he is playing at Hull in the Champ now.
Question marks - like Adam Armstrong - re his ability to step up given his disappointing time at Luton in the Prem but as a short term option a good shout.
Re Wolfe/Bueno not sure who goes and who stays but doubt Wolves will add a 3rd LWB and certainly it won't be a top priority unless as you say he is back to Boro form and cheap/free.
Homegrown is important but Bueno is that anyway and is one of the few that I think is both likely to stay and be good enough for the Champ.
Giles is def however the right pool to be fishing in!

Forest about to bring in their fourth head coach of the season - and it’s going to be Vitor Pereira! How do you begin to describe the hideous mess that is the Premier League? The corruption, the bias, VAR, appalling refereeing, lunatic owners, constant manager changes, overpaid overrated players, the gradual Americanisation of the game, etc, etc. It’s utterly hideous. Sadly it is what it is and most teams want to be a part of it. The money, better players, easily accessible games, and the faint hope of European football.
As for Wolves, unless big changes are made, from top to bottom, and those changes are intelligent, Wolves won’t be seeing the Premier League for a very long time.

On a lighter note, what’s happening with the Steve Bull stand refurbishment? Jeffrey Shi was about to get it all signed off in December 2025.
The stadium would have had a full rebuild, with the ability to stage rock concerts and the 2024 Champions League final, but Wolverhampton Council were refusing to assist Jeff with his vision.
Seriously though, is the Steve Bull getting a rebuild? It’s nice that the city of Wolverhampton has a football stand mentioned in the Domesday Book, but it desperately needs a complete rebuild.

My understanding was anything that happened would be an internal refit. It really needs bulldozing and completely rebuilding. The proposition was a half a job as a gesture to show something would happen, but it wouldn't actually achieve what we all know is needed.

Refurbishing the Steve Bull is like diving down to the Titanic with a duster, tin of Pledge and some Sellotape.

The Steve Bull Stand needs bulldozing. While we're at it, we need a bulldozing centre forward like, err, Steve Bull. Would wreak havoc in the Championship. Sometimes a cloud can have a silver lining. We should take the the opportunity next season to rebuild the stadium as well as the squad. Let the JCBs roll.

Being in the Championship would give Fosun the perfect opportunity to sort out the Molineux. A refurbished/rebuilt Molineux would bring great joy to Wolves fans, and it would be of great benefit to the City of Wolverhampton. Alas, greedy corporations have no interest in people, and Fosun has no interest in Wolverhampton.

The only way it would happen next season is if Fosun fund it rather than the club which unfortunately I can't see them doing.
It would be the right time though to bulldoze the Steve Bull and dismantle the embarrassment that's the Graham Hughes stand and redo the Steve Bull to join up with the North bank.
I'd imagine that planning permission etc is still an issue, but it would be good to see at least some concrete evidence of progress with the ground.

Mane has got Man Utd written all over him. He’s a Rochdale lad, and I imagine that Utd is his dream. As I said in another post, his move will make Wolves a lot of money because clubs will not want rivals to have him.
On a different note, Wolves are apparently sniffing around Abdul Fatawu. He would be a phenomenal signing, but I think it’s clickbait bullshine. He’d cost at least £20 million and too many other bigger clubs will be sniffing around him.

Arsenal are the very worst of the Elite teams. The players and coaches are all entitled - they want every single decision to go in their favour. If the officials indulged them, they would get 15 penalties every game, none of their goals would ever be disallowed, and the opposition would always finish with 8 players.
Arteta screams and shouts, moans incessantly, and waves his arms as if he’s being attacked by 1, 000 killer wasps. Rules that are in place for other teams, players and coaches, don’t apply to Arsenal and certain other elite teams. The Gooners make it all even more stomach churning because of their players and their Turkey teeth.

Tolu might be better with a full pre season under his belt. He does have an eye for a good pass and his hold up play is occasionally brilliant. Problem is he seems like he needs endless chances to score.

100% Santi Bueno was Man of the Match. Becoming such a key player for Wolves. Always liked him - always saw him as a midfielder more than a centre back. Edwards deserves credit for switching him to the middle of three centre backs.
Imagine Mosquera, S Bueno, Krejci as the main back three in the Championship!
Adam Armstrong had his best game in a Wolves shirt.
Feel sorry for the guy being cheered off, but Tchatchoua was ruddy awful.

I do like Jose Sa - JoeJay Jar, as I call him (not sure why). Yes, his distribution is mostly terrible, and he’s a bit nuts, but he’s got a lot of heart and plenty of bottle.

That was an excellent performance by Wolves, under diabolical conditions. I kept looking for a part of the pitch where the Grimsby owner grows his spring onions and spuds.
Santiago Bueno was excellent. It was obvious a long time ago that he was perfectly suited for a sweeper role. Credit to Edwards for immediately switching him to that position.
