And there are still those among you who blame Lage?
He is managing Benfica - in the ECL - one if the best sides in Europe!
Never mind!
We need a manager who can motivate these guys and Fosun should release the money.
Will they?
1.) 05 Dec 2024 21:08:15
I agree with your premise, but it's difficult to 'release' money that isn't there, at least not on the scale that it would now take! Like I've said before sadly this whole situation has been seasons in the making! ?
2.) 05 Dec 2024 23:42:19
Spot on again Bullysboy. Seems we’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. No doubt Gary O’Neill will fall on his sword. Entire team now drained of confidence so bring in Moyes or whoever but it just papering over the cracks.
3.) 06 Dec 2024 07:14:15
So right Bully, from the heady days of Europe, it has been a steady decline.
I feel, right or wrong, O'Neil has an agreement with whoever run our Club to go and the only delay is convincing someone to take his place.
Like you, under the current Ownership, can't see them funding a "recovery" plan.
4.) 06 Dec 2024 07:57:23
Let's be honest fosun have neglected the club since our European journey. They don't appear interested in anything other than financial matters and those 'shortfalls' are in part down to their own doings. I think they've misread the pull of the game off the pitch and, I maybe biased or blinkered here, the youth of today in their attachment to other things club related, ie fashions and Esports which havnt matched expected return to investment. This then dosnt help self sustainability. We've spent out on youngster who so far haven't made or been given the chance to perform in the first team bar Hugo bueno who we let out on loan, maybe get sold now for decent money but hasn't helped us on pitch.
GON surprisingly installed after the excitement of lost and subsequent walk out. Maybe on the cheap and the value now actually showing.
Chinese investment possibly curtailed and we find our selves witha an owner who will be hard to inspired or have means to fund a recovery.
I hope I'm wrong, I hope my limited knowledge is proved incorrect and that Fosun will show some gumption and allegiance to sort the mess out as much as GON needs to wake up stop the 'yea, no' I'm the man we'll try attitude to 'we will, we can' and I'll prove I'm the man. I can take defeat when we've obviously put in a shift and shown some desire. Lemina hinted at the mental attitudes not being rught, do these guys want to play as a team for wolves or individual paypackets?
Sorry I'm so down about things, but I worry, and can't make head nor tail of where my/our club is heading.
5.) 06 Dec 2024 08:48:51
Abbeywolf you’ve expressed my feelings so well.
6.) 06 Dec 2024 09:51:49
I can understand your point of view Abbey and whilst Fosun may well have misjudged the situation and left the club in a bit of a sticky situation the squad is full of reasonably competent players, many of whom are seasoned internationals. We have seen how good various individuals can be and it's up to the manager to get them performing to their optimum match after match, playing as a cohesive unit. If each player was playing at a 7 or 8 rating every match we would be a force to be reckoned with so the question that requires an answer is why are they so consistently well below par and that can only be the down to the manager and the coaching staff. There are squads in this league with nowhere near the quality we have and yet they are outperforming us which begs the question why?
7.) 06 Dec 2024 10:17:07
Abbey, we're all pretty down at the moment. We (Wolves) are in a complete mess. Reminds me of the MM days when we got Roger Johnson, O'Hara etc and the spiral down towards the trap door. I can totally understand the frustration with Fosun. The silence is so frustrating when we as supporters love our club and the fact they seem to be allowing us to fall out of the top league without a fight, which in the early days was their prime goal to achieve premier league status. For me though what I find most annoying is that I still believe we have a team capable of being mid table, but we don't have the manager capable of either motivating them, or getting them organised. Lastly it's Shi's indecision that will ultimately cost us or PL status. We've dropped too many points now against teams we should be beating or at least getting something from. I also don't know where we go from here, but if we got Moyes for me that's a sign of real desperation.
8.) 06 Dec 2024 10:21:11
To a point I have sympathy for GON with the clubs 'transfer policy' leaving us dangerously short in key areas but then you make decisions based on what you've got left. Lemina in a back 3 worked for one game then we've conceded 4 in the next two- other teams are encouraged to blood youngsters yet we'll play a midfielder at the back over Alfie Pond, an actual defender.
Monday is another massive game and could be the last game for GON or Lopetegui- the problem is if it's GON then it's not just who comes in but what are they walking into. If I was a betting man I'd say neither RAN or Cunha will still be at the club come February with maybe some 'bargain buys' or loans coming in in the hope they turn out to be decent. Fosun will probably say different but I really don't believe a word they say and haven't for some time.
Hopefully I'm wrong but it feels like the future isn't bright.
9.) 06 Dec 2024 10:43:01
Derby blacksford your so right of course, we have the players but I seriously now worry if they want to fight for the team they are, the club they represent and the supporters who spend time and money following them and singing their names.
That resolve can only come from above and within, sadly I'm not thinking that they're getting positive vibes from anywhere at the moment.
It was sad that the defeat against Bournemouth happened in the style it did, but it was our back passing yet again along with the pens, just after the high of Fulham.
GON dosnt inspire me as a fan, so how does the team talk go down?
A new face, fresh ideas and something to play for is needed ASAP. Why do Shi, Fosun whoever, not get it?, unless they're happy to clear off and leave us in the dumps, again.
47Vintage, I hope I'm not rude, but I'm guessing the 54 honved game and world acclaim of wolves must have had a big influence on your support the same as it influenced me.
I find it ironic that we're celebrating the 70yr anniversary, selling the replica shirts etc, installing a tribute whilst the club twiddle their fingers and hope for the best. A bit of Stan cullis grit wouldn't be missed today.
10.) 06 Dec 2024 11:26:26
Fans keep blaming Shi, and yes maybe he is at some sort of fault but as I said some time ago on this subject, Shi is just another Moxey, he is just a front man for the main owner of the club there fore is just doing as he is told .
11.) 06 Dec 2024 15:25:49
Spot on Abbeywolf. My parents allowed me to stay up and watch the Honved game and then I bought a packet of bubble gum that had a picture card of Peter Broadbent in this brilliant gold shirt! I was hooked for life!
12.) 06 Dec 2024 16:04:11
Thanks Abbeywolf for pointing out how they are exploiting the Honved anniversary by selling over priced replica shirts that will appeal to sentimental idiots. I’ve just bought one?
13.) 06 Dec 2024 17:32:41
You know 47vintage so have I, I've collected wolves shirts and replicas over the years and had to get one. They are, as you say, very overpriced aimed at a certain demographic. I now wonder exactly what I'll do with them all. I've also got the 50th anniversary dvd of the game. I think everybody to this day around the world have a respect for 'the' wolves because of that
game.
14.) 06 Dec 2024 18:39:56
Same problem Abbey. Managed to ditch a few at a charity shop a couple of years back but still have a few left. Main problem is I’m XXL now most don’t fit. Whatever happens from here just grateful for those brief Nuno years which restored a lot of pride and people should remember last season taking 6 points of Chelsea and Tottenham and beating Man City so we should be grateful to Gary for that. UTW ?
15.) 06 Dec 2024 19:10:41
For all the (understandable) doom and gloom think of this silver lining! Just imagine if by some miracle we win at WHU, wouldn't it be just delicious if losing to us lost Lope his job! ?
Unlikely to happen I know but it would make my season after the dross so far! ?
16.) 06 Dec 2024 19:35:18
Why not Bullysboy? There’s always hope and if we can find another performance as we did at Fulham it’s more than possible. COYW!

Rumours, 1978 Fleetwood Mac album
Very applicable for WWFC
29 Aug 2025 21:36:53
I really don't understand. I genuinely thought Mendes and Gestifute were part owned by Fosun. But it feels like he's doing his beat to blow WWFC away.
29 Aug 2025 15:19:17
Questions guys?
Florentino Luis may be going to Burnley.
His agent is Mendes
Have we fallen out again with Uncle Jorge?
15 Jul 2025 19:28:42
Get over this Bruno Lage thing please. He isn't to blame for what went wrong.
Yes getting rid of Nuno was a mistake.
Getting rid of Bruno, Julen and GON cost she'd loads too.
The mistakes were not necessarily down to the coaches but the change in spending policy.
We've had great players through Mendes and Gestifute. Don't knock the good times. In fact Bruno was more successful at Benfica than Nuno at Porto.go figure
31 Jan 2025 12:32:04
I agree we are being set up to fail.
The bids maybe genuine but the reality is who is actually going to come.
I'd love us to sign a few ex Benfica players like Ferro (CB International), Rafa Silva etc.
I agree Dan's is a smoke screen. What about Vinicius at Fulham to replace Larsen? He's not playing ATM.
Why not try cheekily for Felix on loan?
All these guys played in Lage's teams.
We really screwed Nuno and Bruno and Julen. I know people doubt Bruno Lage but his team beat Juventus the other night .
Pipe dreams one and all.

I hope the rumours about Felipe Jota ex Benfica are correct and Andre Almeira too
