Aston Villa put out a strong side against Real Sociedad at home tonight but still lost 4-2.

The Wolves result doesn't look so bad now.

We beat Aston Villa last season, so we should be in the Champions League and they should be in The Championship.

Is nothing ever right, QS? If new owners came in, it wouldn't be long before the same old song came out: new owners are crap, won't spend any money, players being sold, no ground renovations, blah blah blah. Give it a rest, and let's see what the season brings?

5 changes is hardly a reserve team. The core of the Real Sociedad team was the same. Same cb pairing, also, in both games they changed their entire team, so it seems we both played against the same players. But yes, let's just say it was a reserves team to make Wolves look worse.



I'm not saying it's a good judge of who's a better team, but saying we played the reserves is just wrong. But false statements are kind of your thing, QS, so to be expected.

We can all judge after tonight's mammoth clash away at Doncaster Rovers.
Seriously, pre-season is no mark or gauge for the real competitive matches ahead.
We can look at players, try them here or there, see if they can make positions, form understandings, etc.


None are likely to be up to pace, or trying to be if they're sensible. See Said.
I'm still hopeful of new recruits as well, which will change our look and game come the season's start.

Comparing apples and oranges with friendlies. The result is nearly always meaningless.

New owners would have most of the same issues as the current ones. Same restrictions. However, they could show some ambition with the ground. Even a lick of paint would be something. And recruiting the right people to run the club.

It would still take years to invest massively on the field and be sustainable, because it would take time to reap the rewards of the initial work.



One thing I plead of anyone owning the club, though, is to get rid of the embarrassing Graham Hughes Stand. You can't have a temporary stand for 23 years! And that's across 3 different sets of owners.

Real Sociedad were at home; some of 'em played there twice in a few days. Think Villa fans turned up just to see who they'd still got left. Teach 'em not to nick a Champions League spot in future.
