Confirmed now by Keen Wolves will be taking up the £4.3million option to sign Doyle.

Hopefully a "no brainer" Rated.

2.) 23 Apr 2024 10:32:16
He’s worth every Penny. Young, home grown, talented, fits into our team and style of play. A great bit of business

3.) 23 Apr 2024 13:18:54
Good piece of business.

4.) 23 Apr 2024 13:58:59
Agreed.

5.) 23 Apr 2024 14:35:57
Doyle was a linked part of the deal to sell Matheus Nunes. At the low option price it was a deliberate gift from City to get the Nunes transfer done. Although we were criticised in some quarters, there is no doubt that Wolves got the better of City in that whole saga. It's somehow fitting that Nunes is underperforming for City now.

6.) 23 Apr 2024 17:46:54
We should turn around and flip him.

7.) 23 Apr 2024 19:56:53
Benik Afobe style? Nah he is a quality player. He will keep getting better.

8.) 23 Apr 2024 20:08:58
Problem is Handsome City would be VERY pleased to hear that, as they are retaining a 50% sell on clause! ?
Anyways, I get that you were joking cause he's VERY much needed in this squad. I honestly think he could just be our new Rueben in about two seasons time, this kids got class ??

9.) 23 Apr 2024 20:15:33
One of them thought he was a superstar and didn’t want to be here. The other one knows he’s learning his trade still, and wants to be here- wants to be part of what GON is planning. Plus, less than £4.5 million for Doyler and a decent little profit on sulky Nunes, I think we’ve definitely done well.

10.) 24 Apr 2024 19:37:49
".Doyle joined Wolves on a season-long loan from City with an option to buy for a reported £4.3 million. Also included in the deal would be a fifty percent sell-on clause on any profit

Wolves are 'almost certainly' ready to make the deal permanent in the summer.

After becoming one of Wolves' most consistent performers, and with fans adoring the Man City player, the midlands are expected to command a fee upwards of £30 million for the 22-year-old."

11.) 25 Apr 2024 06:42:29
Apart from 1good goal a few good passes.not seen anything from him.just a cheaper option than having to buy another player that all

12 Apr 2024 20:42:02
Cunha, Hwang and Dawson will all be in the match squad tomorrow, Bellegarde not quite there yet.

According to Keen on X in January O'neil told Fosun about our small squad and the impact injuries could have on it.

Rated RKO

1.) 03 Apr 2024 17:42:45
For the first time you could see and hear the frustration from O Neil in his interview after the Burnley game, could he possibly walk if he is not backed in the summer, he has built up his reputation and would get another job no problem.

2.) 03 Apr 2024 19:30:12
I think if Fosun don't back him and he walks there will be a lot of backlash from the fans.

3.) 04 Apr 2024 06:45:41
Shi has been charged with generating €100 million for squad investment this season. So far, nothing!
Our 3 owners, Guo Guangchang, Wang Qunbin and Liang Xinjun, need to sort out a decent commercial CEO or their investment and our beloved Club will flounder!

4.) 04 Apr 2024 08:52:37
Looks like its that time of year when Shi becomes the pantomime villian again.

Is this the same Jeff Shi who sanctioned the signings of:

Nunes, Cunha, Dawson, Bellegarde, Gomes, Lemina, Costa, Sarabia, Hwang etc for 177m euros since the summer of 2022.

The same Jeff Shi who was forced to sell players as we were very close to falling foul of FFP.

We could spend money like Nottingham Forest, Everton and Leicester and be sanctioned for breaching the rules.

Or we could be happy with being in the top half of the table and financially stable.

5.) 04 Apr 2024 10:10:54
Jas I really don't understand?
This is the same CEO who wasted, with Sellars circa £50 million (including wages, so far) on Silva. Sactioned the signings of Guedes circa £27 million, Hoever (didn't work for us)
Kalajdzic, circa £20million etc etc.
The players you highlight:
Cunha, Dawson, Bellegarde, Gomes and Doyle.down to Hobbs and his team identifying
Lemina, Sarabia.Lopetequi sourced
ps how is getting on raising the €100million his bosses have tasked him with?!

6.) 04 Apr 2024 12:05:53
Rugeley, true, but as CEO, who appointed Hobbs, and who did he answer to.

He may have authorised some dud signings but he does not scout and source the players himself. He has a team that does that on his behalf. Yes we have signed players that proved to be below value but then name me a club which hasn't made the odd, below quality player.

For example - Chelsea selling De Bruyne and Salah as they weren't deemed good enough.
Man Utd refusing to sign Haaland as they didn't rate him.

Mistakes happen but why is it that Silva and Guedes are the yardstick by which Shi is measured? Why do people not remember the likes of Patricio, Neves, Moutinho, Raul, Coady etc that he oversaw.

7.) 04 Apr 2024 14:26:07
Sorry Jas, you make good points, but we do see this differently.
The players you highlight, were mainly brought in via Mendes at the beginning of the 'project'.
Then Shi sacked many of the senior team and was very public about him directly managing the Club. He appointed Sellars and for me it those 3 years after Santo left which have created the current situation.

8.) 04 Apr 2024 16:41:48
I admit that things could have been better over the last 3 seasons but I'm happy with where we are now. 10th place, 3 points off 7th, game in hand against the team in 7th and a possible European place and on a sound financial footing. Surely Shi should get some credit for this season.

9.) 04 Apr 2024 18:59:14
Haha, in fairness to Rugeley we had the exact same debate about two weeks ago! Like I said then Shi is FAR from perfect but we could certainly be a lot worse off! ??

10.) 05 Apr 2024 06:18:32
We did Bully, we did.
I just hope after the recent good work done, we don't find ourselves back to square 1 in the summer.

11.) 05 Apr 2024 14:48:02
On that Rugeley we can definitely agree buddy, we simply MUST have a good window! Else short term we won't progress but long term we likely could/would lose GON! ?

12.) 05 Apr 2024 21:23:07
I think if he's not given financial backing he will walk, especially with the teams he's being linked too we need urgent investment as in my opinion although league position is great we seem to be taking steps back rather than pushing on

13.) 05 Apr 2024 22:02:26
How are we taking steps backwards?

14.) 06 Apr 2024 08:46:13
Fully agree with you Jas M. Of course Wolves have had some transfer mishaps along with most other clubs but overall I think Jeff Shi has done a very good job and should take a lot of credit. Let’s all be grateful for the drastic actions taken last summer when faced with FFP!

15.) 06 Apr 2024 21:18:50
We made a positive impact when returning to premier league I understand with FFP and keeping it under control but why get us in that position in the first place we possibly now have one of the smallest groups in the league and it's starting to show with fatigue. I just think that if the finances were managed properly we would be taking that next step and pushing up the league.
Instead we fear losing players and a manager who is working wonders with the budget and squad he has at his disposal

16.) 09 Apr 2024 15:46:34
Do you want a larger squad of less talented players?
The money would have to be spread out over more players.
We are in a reasonable position considering our revenue situation.

Nothing to play for?

I take it you're not being serious.

3.) 29 Mar 2024 23:38:14
We're literally 3 points away from a European spot with a game in hand.

4.) 30 Mar 2024 09:24:12
Plenty to play for, like the fans that pay good money to support the Wolves, or, a spot playing European football? Just thinking aloud.

5.) 30 Mar 2024 13:10:38
Pretty sure Yam Yam is a wum gents. Only two posts I can see is one saying we have nothing to play for when we have Euros in sight and the other one saying we should be envious of the shambles that is the Blue noses! It's not even subtle Yam yam! ?

6.) 31 Mar 2024 11:50:29
We keep improving in many areas, a lot of positives from yesterday's performance.
Had Ryan finished the first half chance probably different game. Two errors for the goals the difference.First goal switched off, 2nd goal Tommy gives it away middle of park.
Looking forward to remaining games.Dawson back along with Cunha and Hwang, 9 games left, Europe still alive. And don't say we don't need Europe!Stepping stone to top 5, I mean Villa Champs League next season, we are better and but for slow start and small squad/ injuries would be up there.Dont leave Gary!

Where does it end with VAR, high time our club grew a pair and kcked up a fuss about it enough is enough.

Regarding Semedo at CB that was due to Bueno getting a hamstring injury that's why he had to come off.

My love for the game has gone with VAR I walked out of the match early for the first time tonight.

Life can be hard and injustice at times. But there are also some good moments. Going fishing ride my old Norton or watch a good game of football. Well football is no longer on that list. Thank you VAR.

2.) 25 Apr 2024 06:52:20
t is not just the incompetents managing the technology Rated, but also the diluting of the world rated "pyramid system" we have in British football, dodgy Ownerships and confusing Financial Rules.
The beautiful game as we have known it is fast disappearing.

3.) 25 Apr 2024 08:04:52
I can live with human errors by the referee. It's part of the game and life. Nobody is perfect. What I have learnt to hate is faceless people behind closed doors making bad decisions "to your own good". And for me VAR has become a symbol of such injustice. I have had more than enough of that in real life. Why pay money to get even more.

4.) 25 Apr 2024 08:20:50
I don't think you're on your own with that thought Rated, personally I can't wait for this season to end.

It would be the old Norton ride for me Shrekken, what model/year is it? My ride out this Sunday (ride for life) has been postponed due to weather concerns so the frustration grows.

5.) 25 Apr 2024 08:23:43
Many predicted that the influx of massive sums of money into the game would be the death of it, were they right, probably.

6.) 25 Apr 2024 08:24:19
I think the fans from every team
Should do something.
Because the fa will not.
It's rife in football now. It's embarrassing surely to the fa
Week in week out
What if for one batch of games
No one attended a match. In protest
Surely it will prompt a refurb of var
Goal line technology is fine
What doesn't help is bloody TV
Zooming in on tight decisions either being given wrongly or correctly
Thus causing mass hysteria among supporters
If we went back to refs on field
decision, then carry on at once, as it was originally, we would get the
Banter amongst ourselves if he was right or wrong

7.) 25 Apr 2024 09:06:09
It's a Norton commando 850 1975. Starting rebuilding a t160 now. Hope to get it on the road next summer. It's a terrible disease called anglofil. Can't be cured. But lots of fun.

8.) 25 Apr 2024 09:32:18
Love it Shrekken, great bike and great that Norton seem to be in safe hands now after the previous shenanigans.

9.) 25 Apr 2024 10:27:27
Longmynd, money money money, who cares about football and the fans? The FA cup final will be played in Dubai after replays are stopped, top prem teams seeded at quarter final stage with computer assisted refereeing, virtual penalty shoot outs next, I wouldn't be surprised.

I think the Spanish super cup is/was to be moved out there already.

Last night's VAR involvement showed with hwangs goal that the games being taken away. Yes cunha raised his arm and it was a yellow, possibly even a red card but it didn't have any effect on the goal. You could argue that a foul should have been awarded but it didn't influence play contributing to the goal, and it didn't obstruct kleivert so it was off the ball contact, surely the goal awarded and cunha punished after? But no, the equaliser is cancelled by the 'computer says no' attitude of some detached manipulators, who's decisions flummox.
Kilmans effort, whilst his heel being on the line drawn out for offside, could never of benefitted from that marginal amount in finishing so it made no difference. Except for the zealots on VAR and the rules they apply in disallowing a goal. How can anyone play to those dictats? It surely changes the game of football as we knew it and why don't they listen to the chants of the PAYING fan who they see as their cash cows.

10.) 25 Apr 2024 17:33:58
You're not wrong Abbey and Greyleg makes good points. Fan power needs to step in and take the game back because every season it keeps getting worse.

It's like nothing is thought through which is of course typical of modern thinking but someone needs to put a stop to it.

11.) 25 Apr 2024 21:06:17
Sadly Longmynd, it is a money juggernaut driven by the Americans, determined to bring the Franchise Model to European Football.
.and it ain't stopping!

12.) 25 Apr 2024 21:47:51
I said this some many posts ago.'we all live in America' and changes will be imposed on us regardless of how we protest. Someone said on an earlier post that the vast sums of money have now started to ruin the game and they're correct. Corruption, is/will become part and parcel. I had a season ticket for over 30 years and took both my lads, and maybe not surprisingly neither has any interest in football now. I still watch pretty much most Wolves games on TV by whatever means possible but glad now I don't part with hard earned cash. Ridiculous decisions, can't celebrate goals in case VAR intervenes, constant lengthy interruptions in play due to VAR. Some ill qualified guy remote from the game making stupid decisions. 100+ minute games, no consistency re FFP. In short a total mess. PL the best in the world. Really. The other leagues must be dreadful, because we're going backwards year on year. I'll still support/follow Wolves but won't put my money into something now that's simply so bad.

13.) 26 Apr 2024 07:50:43
And, news from Sweden this morning that their FA are not going to use VAR. I wonder why? I would imagine they watch a lot of English prem on TV there, but how long until they'll be banned from EUFA if they don't comply?

14.) 26 Apr 2024 11:46:46
I never wanted VAR so I'm biased anyway but it's sucking the life and enjoyment out of the game in my opinion.
It was supposed to be about clear and obvious! It isn't!
They are re-refereeing the game. Stop it.
It's like life in general if you give power to people they will use it. That doesn't explain it very well but that's what's happening.

1.) 22 Apr 2024 08:07:38
I feel for the Coventry fans this morning, should have been in the final but for VAR finding a toe interfering with play! Likewise the ref and VAR failing in their duties for Forest by all accounts. Heard Kieth Hackett giving his opinions this morning and basically bemoaning the standards of referring we've now had/got this season, and suggesting a independent VAR adjudication with intensive training. Where forest go with their complaint I don't know but two clubs have suffered big time this weekend.

2.) 22 Apr 2024 10:16:15
Not aimed at you Abbey but what exactly makes Forest SO special in all this?! We've had bad decision after bad decision this season and STILL managed to (quite rightly) steer clear of accusing the refs of cheating! I hate VAR and agree with others that I would scrap the whole thing tomoz if given the chance HOWEVER Forests reaction is beyond petulant! It was one bad call, the last call which in fairness should have been a CLEAR pen! As for the other two they were standard 50/50 calls that could ALWAYS go either way! So one bad call and they start throwing toys sorry but it's pathetic and (I suspect) just a way to try and gain a bit of traction before their appeal is heard?! Someone should show um the goal we had disallowed at WHU, that was a FAR more questionable decision than ANY made at their game! Just saying ?

3.) 22 Apr 2024 10:48:35
Nothing special regarding forest from me bully's, I havnt even seen the appeals, I'm just reiterating how VAR is effecting teams, ourselves amongst them and costing us points too. Coventry however is harder, a rare semi final where they've pulled themselves up against a supposed top team. Utds keeper got a second yellow in the pens like villa the other night, will he be banned for the final as martinez is for the Europe 1st leg. Doubt it. I'm just fed up with it all, it happens to often. Re where forest go that was meant as an indication that there is no where to go. Its all wrapped up an it's no wonder that conspiracy theories abound.

4.) 22 Apr 2024 11:34:43
Abbey, Premier football is a mess.
It is not just how poorly VAR is used (staggering the lack of competency amongst our top referees), it is FFP, with no constancy,
FA Cup changes which will impact on the earning potential of smaller Clubs, expansion of European Comps, Long-haul Tournaments, which disrupt pre-season planning for coaches etc etc.
Just chasing the money. The more American ownerships, the quicker the demise of our wonderful "Pyramid" system.

5.) 22 Apr 2024 11:44:09
Thing is Abbey, that toe decision was factually correct unlike a lot of VAR interferences which we have suffered from and there's also a fairly big argument against that Wan Bissaka hand ball penalty anyway.Only because of the gross incompetence of the officials (on pitch and at Stockley Park;how often do ref's stick with their original decision when going to the monitor?) I'd get rid of VAR, change the offside rule so that the foot position (and a complete foot at that) is the sole determinant and revert to deliberate hand ball only for a penalty. And, of course, pigs will fly!

6.) 22 Apr 2024 12:48:59
Hard to feel any symapthy for Forest after how they and their fans have behaved towards us, don't forget this is the same club that tried to get Podence suspended and their fans were saying nothing in the push on Semedo last week, karma comes to mind.

7.) 22 Apr 2024 13:28:41
The online technology exists to have neutral country VAR. No reason why Premier League matches should not have VAR adjudicated in Europe, and vice versa.

8.) 22 Apr 2024 14:46:53
Agree wholeheartedly old wulf, I ranted off about the cup replays earlier below. I genuinely feel for the Coventry fans tho. I've no sympathy for Forest tho, Rated, I was just moaning about decisions this season. Arteta moaned klopp moaned we've moaned now Nuno moaning but nothing changes, it's like P'ing in the wind.
