Hi Phil789,
Saw this in an article yesterday (Sports insider). Hoped it was BS. Forest also from what I can gather.
I would like to think we're ok, especially if as said there is some wiggle room to support GON during this transfer window. Christ, it's never a dull moment being a Wolves fan!

Yet the big clubs can do what they want! Wolves should be OK, I'd like to think Fosun are smart enough to have all their ducks lined up, it's more fear mongering in the press, Wolves seem to be the team that's is hated right now, by refs, press and top brass.

Keen did a article saying Wolves are confident they will pass ffp.

Other than putting it to bed (putting our minds at rest), there's other clubs that may be in question of breaking rules.
Hi Blacksfords I think I must of read it the same place as you.

Chelsea I'm sure are the most at risk.

Everton punishment set at a president and must surely be adhered to for other clubs who have done the same as them.

I'm confident in fosun have addressed all issues to keep us from punishment (points deduction)
But have read the sale of mathues nunes came to late for 22/23 which has being honest put a bit of doubt and uncertainty into my mind.

Let's hope it's all rubbish (click bait). I think we've been punished enough with the poor officiating.

Phil, I am nervous as well!
Not sure why it a Sunday and is covering the whole of the Premiership?
Not sure how much is the Press flying kites. Newcastle heavily featured with TalkSport today.

Jeff's involvement in football matters can justify criticism but I suspect he's a good accountant. I would be surprised if he's been caught out.

The report I read earlier today seemed to suggest that the Matheus Nunes was completed too late to count towards the FFP cut off, however, the report states that the cut off has moved from May 21st 2024 to 31st December 2023 so that any breaches can be issued THIS season. I think this demand is illegal and any club found guilty will be able to appeal.

I think the issue is that on 31st May 2024, the FFP period would have been between 1st September 2020 and 31st August 2023 but because the authorities have demanded the accounts on 31st December, the FFP 3 year cycle has been pushed back a few weeks hence the Nunes deal not counting.

Very confusing and I probably haven't explained it properly but we'll know more next week.

{Ed002's Note - you have misunderstood about two different accounting periods.}

Reading in this morning’s paper, and on Sky and BBC sport, Newcastle are far from safe, With what they’ve declared so far regarding losses. Also rumours doing the rounds that Everton are being closely monitored again.
Genuinely believe our club will be ok come Sunday. We have sold a few players and not spent all that much- not in todays footballing terms. Think Fosun knew their limits and have been shrewd enough to work within those limits

{Ed002's Note - You misunderstand - get out of the mindset of buying and selling players. Start thinking about sustainability and things like the ratio of turnover to wages.}

Ed, I know it's more than just buying and selling players. But the report said that the Nunes transfer makes a big difference.

I can't find any reports other than the one mentioned above, seems odd it's not being carried by the main stream media if there's anything in it.

{Ed002's Note - Any sale makes a difference but it does not mean than money can be spent.}

This is something football manager 24 does really well it breaks down income and expenditure.
Say I buy a player for £7million then 2 years later I sell him for £3million it counts as a loss, it makes up positive income via profit on players sold, gate revenue, sponsorship, tv deals etc and calculates losses via player transfers in, wages, expenditures on match day, running costs and so on.
Allthough it isn't 100% accurate to real world still a eye opener to how things actually work in football.
On plus side those stripey lot down the road are now in league 2 on my game it is 2029 though lol.
