Sir Jack got us into the PL but didn't back us so we went straight back down. He was a generous man but 'blinked' when we were promoted.
Just remember the millions being spent? You mean Fosun? Do you know that Fosun's net spend in the summer transfer window was only £2mil?

Sir Jack spent a fortune on the club and achieved 1 year in the PL at which point he stopped backing the club. He also wasted a lot of money on failure. Also keep in mind for most of that failure we had Steve Bull. How much worse on the pitch could Sir Jack's tenure have been without him?
Fosun have backed the club financially - to say they haven't is very short sighted.
The issue now is being self sufficient partially due to PL rules and partially due to how Fosun want to run the club. They are not fans. They are in it to make money in the long term. However their efforts to grow revenue appear to have been blunt beyond PL TV money and it could end up costing them big time this season.
Also as much as Sir Jack was a fan of Wolves, with the amount of money in football now, I personally don't think he'd have had the resources to even keep the club afloat in the Championship never mind the top flight.

Oh little ye know of Jack. built us back up and gave us hope. and he could have bought man utd never mind wolves. Your ungratefulness is massively evident. And before I get berated yes I stood on away ends in the middle of winter when we were down and out.we wouldn't be having this conversation if not for jack cus we'd be gone just like bury.

Reading some of VP’s comments about selection for tonight, I hope not but I get the feeling both Toti and Agbadou may return to the starting lineup. Thought he would have learnt after Tuesday night.

Rated I fully agree that Sir Jack saved the club after the worst of times. I would never dispute that. My point is solely that the 2003 was a missed opportunity when the backing stopped and for all his hard work - yes the club carried on, but he ended up with only 1 year of PL football to show for it, and it's a shame because his efforts deserved more.
Just like right now if the growth at the club goes has it has the past few years (stagnated, regressed), it's a huge missed opportunity again. There are clubs catching up that will make it more costly to compete at the top table and if we go down, coming back up and reestablishing is going to cost.

Aclewolf, sir Jack basically saved the club by buying it, spending money on it and passing it on for no fee, (bar the nominal ten pound note, which he didn't pocket), fosun bought into the club to make money and no doubt promote their name.
This was exciting for all, the players, and of course manager, who.provided some of the best football we've seen and maybe that some will ever see to the mol.
The promises they made have faded the same as the paint on the Steve Bull, and quick touching up every now and then hasn't and will not stop the rot below.
Truth seems to be that they don't care and have no vision for a future
They have no interest in the fans local and are only here for whatever income they can squeeze from us.
They've realised the ongoing costs of maintaining a Premier league/European challenge and are shying away from it.
Can you see them with us after a struggling championship season?
Banksy I've got a feeling your fears are the same as mine, that agbadu and toti will return and we'll be enduring another night of frustrating football in London.

Abbeywolf/Rated, I agree wholeheartedly with you. How can folks be so ungrateful for the efforts of genuine generosity of Jack and others. Sickening.

The same Sir Jack who had government grants and various other hand outs, for every part of the ground development

Shows what a resourceful and dedicated and influential guy he was Htp.
We wouldn't be where we are without him, Fosun wouldn't be here without him. Our present is from his history .

Abbey is correct in that without Jack the club probably would have gone and we wouldn't have then had Morgan or Fosun. However he wasn't perfect, but he was a fan and at times his heart ruled his head.
My main point was that he spent a fortune on Wolves and probably didn't get the success back the investment deserved. Then when the club did reach the promised land the backing stopped and it being the times of no spending limits it seemed odd for him to do that and missed a great moment to establish the club back at the top table.
For me that season tarnished his great legacy because it could have and probably should have been a far greater legacy had he sold the club after a couple of seasons in the top flight instead of what did happen.
