They obviously expect us to go out, I can't see any other reason to cover that game.

Hate to admit but I expect us to go out too. Don't think we have got a win in us . Shrewsbury are going to be up for it, and we are certainly not a team prepared to roll our sleeves up and fight for it. Would love them to prove me wrong but not optimistic.

Did you not watch the Arsenal and Villa games, Ray? By all means offer criticisms of their skill levels but accusations aimed at their willingness to fight are a bit harsh. They ran their socks off and nearly nicked a result off two quality sides. If their skill levels were as high as their endeavour, we wouldn't be in the state we're in at the moment.

I think you sum it up well Pag. Although there are pockets of" just going through the motions".
Lack of the right quality is the big issue.

Not sure it's that simple though gents, because I also watched the Palace, Forest and United games and in each one of those our players looked like they simply couldn't be bothered! Yes there is a lacking in quality but are we really that far behind Forest, Brentford or Sunderland in terms of quality?! Just feels like a perfect storm of a lacking in quality and also a shocking lack of consistency in effort! Reminds me of us last season under Mick, we'd turn up agaisnt the best teams and put a shift in because there was no expectation but give us a bottom five team at home (e.g Forest) and suddenly we can't run five yards or string together three passes! ?

Bully. My take is that bottom teams tend to be completely inconsistent. The game after Mick was sacked we achieved a fighting 2-2 away draw at Newcastle. Next match at Craven Cottage (I was there) we lost 5-0. Is RE today's Terry Connor? I don't think so, and I'm expecting results to show that.

Terry took over a Wolves side that had only just slipped into the relegation zone but was still unable to save us. At the very least I expect RE to take us down fighting, and with a strategy for challenging strongly next season.
