Now the dust has settled I think overall it was a big improvement on what we have seen previously. The back 3 CB all played well, Agbadou is looking more like the player that arrived. In my opinion, Bellegarde played better but Arias still looked poor. Not sure what Rob will change for Wednesday night, is the injury to Krejci bad, or even exist, what about Lopez?
As others have said we need to use both wing backs more if we are continuing with 3 CB’s.

Don’t recall a good cross from Wolfe, however Jackson looked very promising when the ball was played early. Maybe with the quick turn around worthwhile trying Bueno instead of Wolfe, don’t think Rob will change too much as he seemed happy with the performance.

A big improvement Banksy. When the MOTM is the Villa keeper, that says something! We seem to be jinked as we might have won that match on an other day. The JSL non-goal was a fine strike to connect with a ball played behind his legs. Rob has definitely made a difference, and no place for Little Rocket Man, Hwang.

It’s good to hear the sounds of things being dealt with too, Johnstone saying RE is sorting things that had been swept under the carpet when VP was in charge. Hopefully that allows some of the players to improve.

It’s still early days but the team already seems better. If I could find the odd’s for us to stay up I’d have a little flutter. Still confident we can turn it around but maybe it’s just blind faith.

I suspect that if Krejci has even a little niggle right now he will be wrapped in cotton wool, we will lose Agbadou and Jackson, as well as Tolu, Munetsi and Chirewa for the Afcon in a few weeks.

So can’t afford any injuries to defenders now. Also with so many games coming up rotating the would makes sense and resting those we can afford to rest now before losing those players to AFCON
