Morning all, it seems there are different reports on the price of the transfer of RAN, anything from £33m to €50m. As others have mentioned defensively he could be better, however, I still think we need to be achieving around £45m. Sure we will find out very soon, if it is the low figure doesn’t make sense to me.

Apparently we are, considering, monitoring, looking at, exploring the possibility, keeping tabs on many players, by the time we have done all that, it will then be, just missed out on, unsuccessful, bid too low to sign. Start of June and already not looking good, can only improve ??

To be fair Banksy it is a process and the club will have many hares running, any or all of which can fall over at any time for any number of reasons.
Reports on the restructuring of the football side of the club, if accurate are encouraging as the now trusted VP is promoted from Head Coach to Manager with Fosun allegedly prepared to back him.
That restructuring isn't complete yet either so it will take what it takes, I suppose.

Latest reports suggest £42m for RAN which is a realistic return for the lad. No matter what Fosun will have to put their hands in their pockets at some point this summer. I just hope they have identified their short comings from the last couple of seasons and will be backing VP with prem ready recruits.

Happier with £42m Abbeywolf, could get more, but there or thereabouts. So that provides around £100m with the sale of Cunha. Few other sales throughout the summer, with VP having greater control I hope we can see some great additions. As you say Long, will take some time, guess we have to try and be patient and believe in the process, difficult though from previous experience.

That's always my doubt Banksy, make me suspicious. It dosnt help having all the click bait bouncing around, saying this n that, never no what to believe. Its best to ignore it all and just wait but its hard not to look isn't it. Patience isn't my strength.

Presumably Huego Bueno will slot into RANs position so not unduly concerned about the left back position.

I always look Abbeywolf, try not too, but interested in who we are looking at, that is, if you can believe it, always think there is a shred of truth in there. We all just want the best for our club and an improvement on recent seasons. I agree Arddunby Huego has to be first choice for RAN’s position, I have no problem with him slotting in there.
Up front where we need the recruitments the most, I think, not keen on Elliot from Liverpool though, well not at £50m.
Onwards and upwards.

Agree Banksy1, although we coped without Cunha, we do look a little short on creativity at the moment Semedo leaving means we also need to replace him. Sarabia although not a regular starter was also a useful squad player. Hopefully another unknown gem that we haven't heard of will be uncovered.

Regarding Hugo Bueno just slotting into team where RAN was!
I don't know that's automatic and a given on 2 accounts.
Firstly having had a decent loan and played European football, he may very well want more of that and to stay there.
Secondly, if that team, or anyone else want to buy him, that may be very tempting for Wolves, as I understand it, I believe Hugo being a home grown that is all money positive with pss (even if not a big prob for Wolves this season we believe) because it doesn't have the amortisation drag of other sales eh Cunha, Fabio, RAN etc.
Of course Wolves have the day in they they want or prepared to sell.
Id like him to stay, and at least be in the squad, if not regular.
{Ed001's Note - homegrown is not relevant to PRS.}

Hugo Bueno is not home grown Rollo, he's portugese, came to us as a youngster and played many games for the U21s, scoring several goals from the left back/ lwb position. I've always liked him and in some ways preferred him to RAN in a defending sense. I'd love it if he were to return and it'd be one problem solved but from what I've read he's enjoyed his time with feyenoord and is happy over there, they want to keep him and he's gained plaudits all over. We may be lucky to keep him.

Sorry, being a pedant but Bueno is Spanish

Good point Tim, my wrong, I'm so used to portugese players I just assumed, thanks for putting me right.

I believe Bueno although being Spanish, does count as a homegrown player, due to him arriving young.
I also believe he is now our longest serving player on our books.so he's technically the old man of the outfit ;)

Well I'd never have known that, thanks wobaston. Apologies to Rollo too that being the case.

Ed1.home grown not relevant per se to pss, but in the context I wrote it with no amortisation, I think that is relevant would you say?
{Ed001's Note - no, what you wrote was gibberish.}

Oh, that's rather harsh, and in fact remaining amortisation of sold players is a factor in pss
{Ed001's Note - it is PRS for starters. For second, that is a thing, yes, but nothing to do with homegrown status.}
