You all know I want to give O'neil a fair chance and that hasn't changed yet, however todays defeat was on him, I hope he learns from today, Liverpool next for us very tough match i'd say go for a 532 against them doc and Beuno as wingbacks, Sassa and Hwang up top with Doyle, Bellegetti (spelt wrong I know) and Lemina in midfield, cbs Totti, Killman, Dawson.
If O'neil doesn't learn though that Sasa is our best striker along with Hwang then he has to go.

In yesterday's E&A article he (GON) said he was "going to change tactics as Bournemouth were beaten 2-0 twice last season by Place"

In fairness Rated I think everyone can see Sasa is the better player but I think they are probably scared of a recurrence to the ACL. What I don't get is why a striker wasn't the first priority on Friday?! I'm sure the players we have signed are decent however we now have SIX cms when GON generally uses 2/3 at a time. But we only have two out and out strikers (Sasa and Fabio). We can't/ shouldn't be relying on academy players (Fraiser and Enso who are both only 18)!
Im sure things will get better but as I've said all along we finished with the least goals in the league last season and you don't get away with that twice I'm afraid ?

GON still has had 4 games. It is so early in the season for him to be made a scape goat. He can only give the instructions and it’s wether the team does what he says. They are still low on confidence, Sasa said as much in his interview after Everton. Probably because we want the team to win every week and just need to be patient this season. We don’t have stability with the managers that are being axed and then when we get a new one in it’s doom and gloom. We have failed to strengthen yet again up top and still suffering from it until Sasa is 100% to start. I am more concerned with our once solid Defence folding so easily and continuing to be so sloppy. Time for Doc to come in for semedo and bueno/ totti to come in.

Think Roy worked out Gary’s tactics in the first half and tweaked it a little at half time as did Di Zerbi when we played Brighton.
Can’t blame Gary for where we are and he couldn’t refuse the job but what did he think he could do with this lot when the ex Real Madrid and Spanish national team manager with his top coaches could see no hope for us.

Rather over the top, Rated and, as Bully's says, Sasa's game time is being managed so that, hopefully, we can get a full season from him and not one that ends before summer is really out.It does seem though, at the moment, Hwang is our best finisher and, yet again, he only made the bench because it was touch and go injury wise.

Lopetegui was a miracle worker and kept us up with the Shi/Sellers daft signings, only because he and Hobbs did a brilliant job in Jan. with most signings.
We have had a good clear out and I think we can improve on the coming weeks.
Things to be cheerful about:
- General play very good
- Lamina is a great midfield general
- Some generally good talent
Worrying things:
- In Semedo and Sllva we have 2 sub-standard players that no one will pay very much for and they cost circa £70m and cost a fortune in wages.
- Everton and SU sign CFs.we did't A major mistake.
We just have to keep the faith.

First lesson in coach school. Wax on wax off. Wax on wax off. Striker out striker in. Striker out striker in.

I've never bought into this idea of not playing some of the gifted younger kids. Give them a go. That lad at Brighton looks good enough amd how old is he?

I agree with the premise Porth however it does assume that they are already good enough at 18?! Which is why Evan Ferguson is an anamloly, as shown by him joining the likes of Owen by getting a hat trick at 18! Currently (I believe) he's the ONLY player in the whole league who's done that and still playing, he's also a few weeks off 19 and this time last year was starting on the bench like our 18 years should be! I suppose my point is that strikers like Ferguson are quite frankly rarer than rocking horse poo! Which is why every top club was tracking him when Brighton pulled off the miracle of signing him! It's possible one of ours is the same but as Enso scored 3 goals all last season at a (likely) lower level, well it seems a big ask to me!
