When are the FA going to get a grip on referees making it up to suit their own personal view either with or without VAR? Today Southampton get a goal chalked off because someone stands on someone's heel. Ten days ago we don't get a penalty for exactly the same thing! OK there was no VAR at Forest but its still an FA referee expressing his version of the laws of the game. I know I'm only dreaming if I expect the FA to actually to teach referees how to do their job but the only way to improve is if when they make errors the FA actually get involved and apologise and retrain the referee involved so that they don't keep repeating the mistakes they make.

Too many rules in football are subjective and allow personal interpretation by the officials.

You'll have to draw your own conclusions as to why that is Ken, as it simply opens the door to inconsistency and controversy.

Longmynd wonder if that approach could possibly leave officials open to being manipulated? One may speculate that such control could promote the interests of a few. Foid for thought.

How are comparisons to matches in the championship without VAR? Are fans happier with the reffing of those games? I suspect they are. Does the financial rewards, which are great with promotion and play off final outcome, influence decisions in certain teams outcomes in the apparent way it does the '6'? I wonder. Just thoughts.

It's all wrong and something needs changing rules are supposed to be straightforward but in football if you asked 10 referees to look at the weekends football and show them a clip of for example the souphamton goal ruled out we would never get 10 saying the same thing same as yellow cards what 1 referee gives as a yellow this week next week its not rules should be simple so that 10 people looking at a incident all say the same thing not leave it to interpretation its a big money business run by amuters VAR had been a joke and inconsistent take the FA cup I really hope Liverpool win the thing imagine the FA red faces a team who should not be in the cup goes and wins it
