We didn't really look like scoring if i'm honest but so many blocking fouls by Arsenal as we break it's hardly surprising. What a nasty horrible team Arsenal are, image of their manager who was just the same. Niggly and nasty! Foul count first half 10 v 5 told the story. Hear hear phil wolves forever. To lose under arsenal's tactics grinds me. The ref could have dealt out cards earlier particularly afters pods was brought down for the 3rd time in first half. By time he did it was almost game over anyway. Our main prob tonight was neves almost on his own all night and our woeful attacking approachs. Trincao produces the same quality cross as adama, who had the best effort tonight? Seiss, our CB and only a fine save denied him. Jiminez is not upto it yet. Fabio is pointless. I know hwang is just back but a few minutes at the end would have been preferable. Chinquito will fit in nicely with experience tho. Ah well frustrating night but bring on Spurs, onwards and upwards. Podence our best player? He certainly was busy but the amount of times he gave the ball away beggars belief. Without Neves the game would have been over at half time. Dendonker absolutely woeful again. Given free reign to get forward and contributes zero in midfield. As against Norwich, we got loads of crosses in, some of which were decent, but absolutely no one on the end of them. Other than the crosses we didn't create a single chance. Desperately lacking a quality attacking midfielder, two years we've been saying this now and desperately lacking a striker, two years we've been saying that as well. Miraculously we're still somehow competing in the top half and that's credit to both players and manager but we are so in need of reinforcements it's a joke. Bruno again this week stating a thinly disguised dig at fosun who just don't seem to be listening, to which nuno would no doubt attest.
Can't blame the players, they're doing what they can. Can't blame Bruno. His opinions and desires have fallen on deaf ears. This summer has to be the time for change.

Sorry to say it but like I predicted when we start losing peeps actually start to realise our lack of recruitment is costly! Peeps can say what they want about Adama but can you honestly tell me he wouldn't have been straight in and causing them panic the moment they went a man down?! And Phil you are absolutely on the money sir, its not even about Adama at this stage cause we never even replaced Diogo! Yes we signed Podence but in Jotas last season he scored 12 goals (Docs got 8 as well FYI). We have NEVER replaced those goals. So we sold our goals scorers without a fight and didn't replace them and now we've done the same thing with our goal creators! Of course we will be fine but where Future is SO right is the what if?!
I get what peeps will say (and this is tricky for me cause I kind of agree:) that yes of course I'm grateful that Fosun have turned us into a Prem club proper. But WHAT IF they just believed in the project and carried on where they started after the Euro run? Right now we have an ageing first team and a paper thin squad, there's only so much Lage can do. Let's not forget that he still hasn't EVEN had the right players to try his much favoured attacking 4-4-2 system!
Don't get me wrong, I will ALWAYS be grateful for ALL Fosun have given us but I can't scratch this niggling itch that come the end of their tenure we'll all be asking what could have been if they'd just seen through building the best team we've seen in my life time! Let's hope I'm wrong and that's what they are doing and I can't see it, but I look at our bench (or rather 'squad') and I'm not convinced! COYW ?

What frustrates me is the stage is set the opportunity's are there for our players to do damage to the opposition score goals but why didn't fabio shoot he didn't even look with that pass in the box if that was Jota it would of been a shot on goal.
Trincao lovely skill with his sweet left foot then his cross (s) were terrible.Its so frustrating.
Marcal put one peach of a cross in but we needed at least one of our players to be a sniffer in the box make that gamble run all the best goal scorers do it.
Neves wasted free kick to be fair they come off he's a world beater but if not he looks not good.
I always will give the players the time to come good but you'd agree bullysboy fosun imo will clearly see our goal output is very low and will have to release funds in the summer for a goal scorer.
I asked my bro his thoughts on Trincao my bro said he the one who crossed way too deep I said yes him my bro said way too light weight got knocked off tge ball too easily.
I'm thinking whang doesn't get knocked off the ball is strong and I hope he gets back to his great early promise before it for some reason deserted him.

Clearly we all disappointed but what can you do just soldier on is my best thought.

I agree wholeheartedly BB,a big push after the European tour would I think have found us threatening the top four with the right additions, instead fosun backed off and now I think we are closer to square one than the next step forward.
Lage has for me worked miracles considering the woefully inept backing he's been given so far, let's hope that changes in the summer.

Ken yes I see that but reading all the Traore posts last 2 years of how much he is a superstar when blatantly obvious he isn't as 9 out of 10 has no end product if he had been this super star player then we would be a lot closer to maintaining a Europe push and what the Traore posters want.

This has always been my issue and haven't had any back up on this just that Traore is a world beater and fosun are doing wrong.

{Ed001's Note - you would always get my backing on that Phil. I find the adoration for Traore mystifying as I don't rate him. Yes he is fast and skilful but has the football brain of an ameoba.}

I would never say he is a super star and I am also quick to admit his delivery is average. The thing is though with our 'squad' its doesn't take a super star it takes a different option. As I've said before weather you rate him or not its hard to argue the impact he has on a game. How many players do we have in our team which defences double up on? Cause weather you guys rate him or not defenders regularly to do that (along with kicking him). Between the free kicks and space he created it helps the team and we now don't have that as an option. Like I said anyone doubting this should watch the United game back, we spent 60 mins pulling them all over the place without ever really threatening. Adama came on and suddenly there's space on the edge of the area for Moutinho to have a pop. Look at Barcas results over the ENTIRE month before his arrival they scored as many league goals as they did just on Adamas debut! I suppose the point is you might not rate him but teams generally seem to create more space and chances with him playing! Even if I would concede that he isn't often creating or finishing those chances.

We'll put BB though tbf I hadn't mentioned Adama in my comments because I knew what would come back. You are of course quite right in that he was no where near perfect but just being on the pitch made a difference. Space for others for a start. More to the point got me off my seat more than any other player for quite a long time.
