Thoughts on pushing in the Cup(s)? Although these extra early Cup games are helpful to get the team in sync, I think it would help our League opportunity to not go far. With so many games in the Championship, I think these double game weeks will be harder as the season progresses and weaken our squad for the more important Championship title push.

Anyone have stats on Championship teams finish in league when they have a deep run in the Cup(s)?

NJ winning is a great habit, but you make a good point.
In reality, though, as we all know, as soon as this side comes up against a serious Prem-level team, it will lose, so it will not be a problem.
Although playing well at the moment, and it has to be acknowledged the manager seems to be getting far more out of them than the previous few have, the reality is that this is a side that was cast adrift last season and is perhaps only minimally improved - Trippier, Raul, James and Lopez, (potential), upgrades - Krejci and Gomes major downgrades.

I agree, better PL teams will take care of us at some point, but we could get a favorable draw and avoid longer. Do we want another 2-3 or more midweek games to wear us down?

{Just read this first sentence back and realise it could be read as critical - I hope you believe me when I promise it is not!}
Bizarrely, I always hold, (ludicrously optimistic), dreams that this could be the year.


A lucky draw here and there, a good performance here and there, and suddenly Wembeley beckons.
Yes, of course it's stupid, but I'm getting older, and the number of dreams left is getting smaller, so I am v loathe to give up on any, even the ludicrous ones!

Future, I wouldn't say you're weird to like to win or even hope for Cup glory! I'm just looking at what I feel is the more important prize, and that would be winning promotion back to PL. With our small squad and recent history, I just don't want us to get bogged down with too many Cup ambitions.

Do we really want to be back in the Premier League where we lose every week and are fighting a constant relegation battle?
The fans seem happier in the Championship, with bigger away ticket allocations and a chance of winning games.


PL may financially benefit the owners, but what do Wolves fans gain out of it?
A chance to see us compete against the best, but we can't compete, can we?

WSD, you would be happy to just stay in the Championship?

That's great, ticket prices and availability may be better, but it's not good for me (lol). I'm in USA, and it costs me more to watch Wolves now that they aren't in the PL anymore. I have to subscribe to another streaming service, since the PL is on one and the EFL on another.



I liked the excitement of competing vs the best in England, and watching us push for Europe. Those beginning 2-3 years with Fosun in the PL were exciting. I can't get too excited about playing in the Championship or lower year after year. Then the only excitement is the Cup games and how far we can go, without any real hope of reaching the final.
