I said in an earlier post that Wolves did what they did in the summer to avoid ffp sanctions, avoiding an Everton like scenario.

But could it get even worse for them? Burnley, Leicester and Leeds are allegedly taking action to claim £300M from Everton in compensation. If that happened Everton would probably have to go into adminstration and therefore get docked a further 9 points. What a mess.

How can all three clubs sue Everton?. In the report it stated the PL wanted to apply the punishment last season, so Everton would've only occupied one relegation place. Or am I being thick?

Burnley would sue for getting relegated in the season when Everton spent a ton. The other two mentioned above would argue they would have stayed up potentially if the points had been docked last season.

Not sure Debbie, those were the 3 clubs mentioned.

Could open up a hornets nest, could Sheff UTD sue for that hawkeye fault too?

I heard that Leicester are saying that if the points were deducted last season, then they would have been safe as the bottom 3 would have been Everton 20th, Southampton 19th and Leeds 18th.

Leeds are arguing that as the punishment was delayed, it gave Everton an advantage, likewise Burnley.

As I read it, although the punishment was this season, the actual 'wrong doings' happened over the preceeding 3 seasons and that's why the 18th placed teams feel there is a case to answer.

@Eastmidswolf - that makes sense, I couldn't understand the logic. I am clearly thick.

The Everton case covers the period 2019-21

Is it Everton's fault/decusion when the punishment was handed out?
