I have a question for those who regularly attend Wolves games. Is Gary O'Neil the answer or is he out of his depth?

I'm not looking to be negative or preach sedition, it's a genuine question, which I am not really in a position to answer.

I know our new signings aren't really bedded in yet with some still on the young side or not match fit, but that aside can you see what he's trying to achieve. In other words does he have a preferred playing style or at least a plan.

From the outset I always felt the 'give it until Xmas' approach was the most reasonable but it's looking increasingly like we are destined to endure another season of heartache to some degree. Am I right? or just responding to a poor start and if so, will GON turn it around? If he doesn't is waiting until Xmas leaving it too long to react?

I know the goal scoring woes are a long established gripe but our defensive frailties are equally concerning, with no Coady-like sweeper to organise things at the back we seem to lack organisation on occasion, maybe Bueno's eventual inclusion will help as I don't think Kilman has the personality for the job.

So, it may just be the growing pains of a team evolving after losing key players and then having to accommodate new ones, it may be a playing style inconsistent with the squad available, it maybe lack of fitness and the ability to concentrate for 90 minutes, but I do sense something isn't quite right, yet.

We are playing some good football but only for one half every match.

Luton at the weekend will be critical as if they pick up their first points of the season against us, we really are in trouble. Our next lot of home games, on paper don't look good - Man City, Villa, Newcastle and Spurs so it is the games against Luton, Bournemouth and Sheffield United that we have to win as they are our direct rivals.

Bellegarde looked class yesterday. Santiago Bueno is supposedly a very good CB and will replace either Dawson or Kilman.

End of October will be a better time to answer your question.

I think O'Neil can be a success here but he will need his new players to adapt very quickly.

He has only had 5 games. He talks sense and analyses the games well regardless of what us arm chair managers think. We are already a club that chops and changes managers so how can we have stability if we keep changing managers. People will say we should have or let’s go get potter. How do you know we didn’t already and he said no? Would he be in the same boat as we are now?
We have had a big pruning session and got rid of deadwood and it will take time for the new roots and branches to grow.
I think GON will come good but the players have to pull their weight also.

Jesus, when will people learn that you can't just change a manager and expect to be amazing the following week.
All this BS about changing a manager after 5 games. Give it a rest, change your tune, try to look more than just one step ahead in your binary world!
We run out of steam yesterday against a team with am amazing attack, whole we couldn't convert our many chances in the first half.
That's it.
Move on, next week Luton.

I think GON could be a very good manager but at the moment maybe as a lot to learn. He'll pick it up as we go, lessons to learn every week. 5 games 2 of which, man u and yesterday we showed we can play against the best if suitable motivated and able to maintain stamina. Everton we fell lucky with big thanks to Sa. Palace we were again OK in the first half but were picked off too easily. Brighton who are, make no mistake very good, we again gave them a game but fell apart for 10mins at the start of the 2nd half, and that's the trend. Whatever happens during half time I don't know but we've got to find a way to reignite and get out there on the front foot. GON will recognise that and find his way through it I hope. A bit more confidence from him a more positive outlook to encourage the lads, maybe more animated on the line to get em for it. Luton will no doubt be a turning point, hopefully it'll be in the right direction or things may become harder and harder for him to get things under control.

Bueno, Gonzales, Bellegarde and Doyle have been brought in by him for a reason. Give GON a chance to implement his ideas and then judge. Man Utd, Brighton and Liverpool are not the games to judge him on.

He will succeed here. We need to back him and the players.

Liverpool first goal was a good move the second was terrible distribution and bad defending if you watch the run of robson absolutely no one picked him up and the third was just a bit of bad look as I think it was going wide but took a nick of bueno we should have been 2 of 3 up in the first half but made the subs to try and hold the draw which didn't work as soon as chan anx cuna went off we had no outlet fabio was lost his body language is awful waving his arms around and dropping his head worst number 9 iv seen at the club.

So far this season is similar to lages first season, 3 points from 5 games. If I recall correctly we went back to a back 3 that season after 3 straight defeats and were OK but not scoring many until the rot set in during the run in. I've said on here many times we need to go to a back 3 and still stand by it.
