My View!

Clearly Lopetegui is no mug! He's got no desire to start his reign against Arsenal but is sending his backroom staff in to observe in advance of the game. He obviously keen to treat the World Cup break as his pre season and I can fully understand why he's doing that, i'd prefer Everton away as my first game as well! With the war chest he's been promised apparently I imagine a striker is a given and maybe a right back plus possibly a centre back. I can imagine he has a shopping list and his targets!

I know our position isn't great but looking at the table I think any team up to 11th are catchable, not easy but we create plenty of chances, just need that finisher!

Yesterday small margins again, clearly Lopetegui must have spoken to Pete Davies because we set up 4-3-3 not something we normally do. Guedes I thought took his goal wonderfully well though with hindsight it might have been better if he'd gone down then Mitoma would have seen red and a penalty! The handball for the penalty these days they are nearly always given despite His Royal Muppet Lineker thinking otherwise! All of the 3 goals conceded I my opinion having watched them over and over I think would likely been avoided had we been playing with a back three. Just my opinion!

Semedo's sending off whilst totally stupid I don't think was an obvious goal scoring opportunity frankly. But what I think doesn't matter sadly. I like Semedo very much going forward as a wing back but as a full back he's as much use as a chocolate fireguard. On the other side Bueno has been great certainly better than RAN in defence.

Sorry if i've rambled on a bit but still not a 100%. In conclusion if had £100-00 to blow on a bet i'd back us to stay up! I see Southampton, Bournemouth, Everton and possibly Brentford more likely to face the drop. Funnily enough I expect us to get something from the Arsenal game if the players can keep their cool. Everton without Coady on Boxing Day isa win for us after our Malaga 2nd pre season!

Not drivel at all ken,u making a lot of sense, what I don't like to see is ANY player, once fouled, waving there hand about,as to tell the ref to book the player, this should be outlawed asap
Only my opinion

I would add to my rambling I hope Steve Davis (I've been getting his name wrong!) and the guys assisting him get a good bonus for the effort they have put in for the club. Not sure of the going rate per month but I'm sure it's a tidy sum. They've done their best and deserve our thanks, not gone as well as they hoped I'm sure but they stepped up!

Greyleg, quite right! I thought they should be booked for that! Do that to a Rugby referee and see how you get on!

Same as greyleg Ken not drivel at all.
Nice to read mate nice and calm without any anger or distaste towards our club and players.

I think forest in the mix to go down aswell.

Yes greyleg the Brighton player wagging his hand should of been booked for that.

Think the world cup break will do our team good.

Noticed palace won today they travel to forest next weekend.

Phil thanks oops forgot about Forest. Wonder if Gibbs-White will get done by the FA for his "we were cheated" outburst?

Totally agree Greylegwolf, any player seen by the referere to be indicating a booking or sending off should be complimented by the referee by saying “Well done, You now have the same punishment as the opposing player”
Does make my blood boil when some tosser of a player thinks he is above and beyond

Ken - to be fair he was absolutely correct. The standard of reffing (sp) is at an all time low but this game took it to new levels.
There were 4 penalty appeals - 2 stone wall, 1 not really and 1 never in a million years. The only 1 given? Yes the one VAR showed was clearly not a pen as (as the Forest goalie clearly stated) there was not far short of a yard between the Brentford forward and him when the forward went down! {To be fair to the ref from front on - his view - it was hard to tell but from the side on view, which VAR has, it was crystal clear it wasn't a pen!}.
PS the other 2 (3) were all pens for Forest so yes they were "cheated" fortunately for us or we would be bottom!

Interestingly Sky Sports has an article today with Dermot Gallagher and two other pundits. All 3 agree with view that Forest were outrageously cheated. Oh well of no use whatsoever in gaining points but maybe some satisfaction.

future. Would agree Forest were treated pretty badly, in saying that though refereeing ha been below average all season so far. Very shabby in fact. It would be extremely telling if Gibbs-White's outburst is ignored though, normally big fines usually follow. Mind you the FA might actually agree with him! Action at the top, frankly I doubt it!
