It's a shame Doherty is leaving. He could be a good squad member for Wolves in the Championship. My best moment for me was his winning goal against Man City.

Mixed emotions about Doc. Would be valuable in the Champ no doubt, but I think there is more to this than meets the eye (or ear). When he left for Spurs, he seemed to burn his bridges behind him. Just now, he has deleted his Wolves' social media posts, if reports are correct.
Whatever, Wolves did very well out of him, considering that Mick signed him from Ireland by chance for what, £80K? He was PL player of the month during our Nuno glory days.

Doc gave us some great moments. I believe he scored the late goal against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup to get the replay in our semi-final season. Otherwise, history would be very different.
He'll be good in the Championship for someone, but sadly not for us, and here is why.
Trippier is better. I don't think you could play both as first choice with a 34/35 year old on each flank. Doc would want a decent wage, so would be an expensive back up, and if swapping to a back 4 I think there are better options at centre back for the money at that level.

Doc was a good player who peaked beautifully under Nuno. At his age now, with his fitness levels, Wolves can't give him a new contract out of loyalty. It could be argued that Wolves shouldn't have re-signed him - it smacked of desperation and (a form of) nepotism. He's had a few brief moments at rcb, but other than that, Wolves have been paying him handsomely for doing very little.
He could be half-decent in the Championship if he played at rcb, but how many games will he play and how much money will he want? Laters, Doc, thanks for good times.
