Only got the means for internet at work so haven't the time to post properly and what I want to get across clearly. But agree a lot with more posters than I disagree with.

{Ed025's Note - i too hope the wolves do well philip but obviously not next weekend, i just hope that all you guys dont get caught up in the "we should be looking at a european spot this season" malarkey mate, staying in the prem should be your first aim and take it from there as that will be an achievement in itself, im not doing you down but every game will be a cup final and in a couple of years if things go to plan then once you have established yourselves then then great, you have very good support and it will be a great season for them im sure whatever happens so good luck..

Well said ED025. i'm being realistic and looking at this season as us surviving in the Premier league and then building on that.

{Ed025's Note - i think thats the way to go RKO walk before you can run, and its nice that other supporters are rooting for wolves to do well which could change if we get all the bravado about how you are going to finish above other teams, i think yourselves and fulham could do really well mate..

I don't even know how you can aim to just stay in the Premier League.
You aim to get as many points as you can.
If you have good enough players and a good enough coach, then you will do better than if you don't.
Last year's results are irrelevant. Last year's division is irrelevant. It is this year's players and coaches that matter.

Maybe what you mean to say is that we shouldn't be too heartbroken if we are in the bottom part of the table but survive at the end of the season.

So sure, it is a long shot. But if come next week we are smashing Everton. Then what? Remember we beat LFC and it wasn't a fluke. We have a habit of beating the bigger clubs. Bigger than Everton. So it is not that unlikely we could win. I think we could win 3-1.

Ed025, do you just want your team to survive or are you hoping for more? Why would you hope for more if we aren't allowed to? Is your team that much better, personnel wise than Wolves?
I assume all teams should be happy just not getting relegated.

{Ed025's Note - thats not what im saying timmy, i am just advising you about over expectation mate, i have seen it over the years where fans brag about doing this and that and end up falling flat on their faces, wolves on paper have a very good squad and is on a par with everton player wise but we have the experience, i just dont want when you go on a losing run (and you will) supporters slagging the players and the club off..

it's called being real and keeping your feet on the ground, first 2 seasons in prem league are about surviving normally then you start to build on that, the longer you're in prem the more attractive you become for big signings. This is only my thoughts on it. Ofcourse I want us to win the league, champs league etc but reality says step by step.

Wolves have players who have played in the World Cup, Champions League, Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1 etc.
How is that not experience.
We heard this last year. "Yes, they may have played in the Champions League but that's not the same as the Championship. "
Well guess what? It isn't the same, it is better and they showed it.
Now you are saying the same thing. The Premier League is better than every other league. Guess what? The Premier League teams are buying their stars from these leagues so they must be of high quality. More players are probably coming from those leagues than are being developed in England. The only reason the Premier League is so good is the television money allows teams to buy the best players from these other leagues. Those other leagues are where the talent is blossoming and we are trying to buy the best young (and not so young) talent there.
Certainly we will be much better than the lower half of the Premier League, with their coaches who still think it is 1975 and players whose main strength is they can really put in a shift.
Have you watched any Wolves games from last year? Did you see the game against Man City? City fans were saying Wolves were the best team they had seen at home up until that day last season.

And another way to look at this Premier League experience thing is - Wolves are not playing the Premier League, they are playing individual teams in the league (Overall league style is irrelevant, with the exception of refereeing idiosyncrasies) .
That is no different from Porto, Benfica, Real Madrid or Barcelona playing Premier League teams in the Champions League. Do they suffer from many of their players not having Premier League experience?
No, they don't because their style of play and their players' skills are very good and their managers are top coaches.
I'm not saying Wolves are in the category of those Iberian teams but I am just saying that style of play and player quality is what matters, not Premier League experience.
