Ipswich appear to be paying £12m plus £3m performance based add ons. Market value is a subjective matter. Can only assume WW didn't really want O'Shea and have someone else up their sleeve. If not trouble ahead as the CB's aren't good enough.

Yeah I have to agree Mike this notion that if we can't find an option we'll be fine is absolute falesly! We have one quality cb who struggles to play half the games in a season (Dawson) and two academy graduates learning there trade (Totti and Mosquera); then one other cb who (frankly) is still yet to prove he's up to the standard of the league (S.Bueno). Don't forget with this that Mosquera has previously had a season long injury! We are down to bare bones at CB and seriously lacking in both quality and experience! If we don't sign a cb we are in trouble, it really is that simple for me to be honest ?

Burnley are trying to start a bidding war for O'Shea.

They agreed a fee of £12m with Wolves. Ipswich offered more to the club but O'Shea has come out and said he wants to move to Wolves, however Burnley are now only prepared to talk to Ipswich due to them offering more money.

Wolves could simply pay the extra £3m but why should they?

This is very much like the deal for the Brazilian striker Yuri Alberto when the player had agreed the terms as had the selling club but at the last minute, the players agent wanted £1m extra payment which he wanted the selling club to add to the transfer fee. Wolves refused.

Of course Burnley are trying to start a bidding war, that's there job! I also don't blame a club for selling to the highest bidder, it's a capatalist market and they want the best price they can get!
As for Wolves response that's entirely up to the club of course. To be honest I don't especially care about the transfer I'm just pointing out that we need to sign a cb, which one and how much they pay I will leave up to the club. I always said I understood the Kilman transfer provided we spent a decent chunk of the fee to replace him on someone decent. If we don't do that we will struggle to stay above the relegation battle, it really is that simple for me!

I hope you're right and the club have a CB lined up. Mosquera looked good last week but is he ready for a consistent run in the PL? Dawson isn't able to play all of the games, Toti us too error prone and Bueno lacks the required experience but did look decent when he played last season. For me, someone like Joe Gomez, Lindelof, Maguire or Zouma would do.

Experience isn't the issue with Santi, Wandering.He needs to get quicker (difficult)and certainly beef up (easier). He's much too lightweight and even Hwang could outmuscle him at the moment and we all know Hwang falls over with a feather touch.

I would walk away from a chippy if the prices had gone up nearly 20% because someone else was happy to pay for expensive chips. I would go home and cook at home as it’s a lot cheaper but yeah maybe won’t taste as good. But it’s better for me in the long run, plus I might stumble on a really good recipe and be like who needs chips anyway!
