Number 6 AM
In reality Wolves only have 1 serious option Lopez.
In my view Mane could play there but the manager disagrees sadly he does think Doyle can play there - all the evidence says he can't.
If he thinks Munetsi can play there or not we don't really know, however Munetsi clearly thinks he can as he regularly abandons his assigned role at DM to roam around in the AM role but once again all evidence says he can't actually play there!
Fortunately Lopez has been a revelation this season. Bought for approximately £20m- seemed v high at the time not so much now - and on fairly modest wages he initially looked like just another of a long list of players - mainly from Iberia - who simply did not want to be at Wolves and who lacked the physical and mental strength to play in the Prem. He was rapidly sent back to Spain and I, in error, thought that was the last the club would see of him.
For whatever reason - well done the club - they refused to allow him to remain in Spain even though it seemed that he was keen to do so and he (possibly reluctantly) returned.
However he rolled up his sleeves and demonstrated that not only was he a good footballer - that was a given - but he was also a far far better human than many of the other young lads brought over against their will by the club - well done to him!
Concerns are obviously the lack of cover for him and the possibility - already seen to some extent - that he will be roughed up/double marked /etc.
Astonishingly he is now right, left and centre of Wolves hopes this season and gives every indication that he may well be able to step up if Wolves are promoted.
I would imagine this is the position / issue where there is the least debate and other than the obvious concerns about cover/back ups the one where the club has genuinely done well.

Excellent analysis, tfiog3. You're clearly a passionate Wolves fan. Hopefully good times will be around the corner.

Welsh - Been going for 59 years now. Seen good - Mcgarry and Nuno mainly - and lots and lots of bad.
Don't go as often now but went regularly in the 70s and 80s including the very dark days in Div 3 and 4 when there were only a few k at games!
But still v v passionate - much to my kids chagrin!
Always hopeful but realistically that is going to be hard to achieve.
This is due to the structure of the game, which is now so heavily skewed against the non sky teams, and of course Fosun's ownership - discussed very very extensively, very very regularly.

Agree totally tfiog3!
Lopez is a hungry wolf and gets frustrated when no one feeds him. I also think Mane would be best suited in a CF position than on the wing.
Prior to the season starting I did hope Trippier would be the new feeder for Jimenez, who is always hungry, but we tend do more business down the left instead.
We have some great players but not at their best in other positions. Whatever the reason (possibly due to injuries) I honestly think the best is still yet to come.

Suffolk I tip my hat to you.
Must have been incredible times in the late 50s!
If only Sky had been going then Wolves would have been locked in as European super power for ever more.
As we see even with Man U and Spurs being run as badly as Wolves they remain "blessed" and surely will eventually sort it out - a few hundred million a year more than the other sides will do that for you even if you try to mess it up!

I can beat you by a year Future. First game was a 3-1 victory against Portsmouth in Oct 1966 and coincidentally 60 years later we played them again at Molineux. I was there in the darkest days including Chorley away (at Bolton) but my best season was 76/77 when I went to every game including Millwall away on 1st January with no segregation! Still go to every home game and the odd away one.

Old - I remember and was at the Millwall game! Despite only holding some 10k the ground was incredibly intimidating.
As I recall Wolves were winning but Millwall scored reasonably late on and by the end Wolves were hanging on as the crowd - just 10k or so there - massively got into the game!
There was a tunnel near the ground we walked through - the "cold blow"?
Felt like a Michael Canine movie !
The new ground is just a standard stadium and i doubt it will be anywhere near as hostile as it was in the 70s!
