Shamus not since the early 70s.

30 Aug 2018 11:06:35
Wolves v WBA please.

30 Aug 2018 12:35:27
Not since I have been watching Wolves

The biggest players left like Keane and Lescott and Bull was a great player for us who could have gone further like Lineker but the only stars we signed were at the end of their career like Ince and Irwin the stars we have now weren't famous apart from Moutinho and perhaps Jiminez and are at their peak let's hope they all stay.

26 Aug 2018 11:51:47
Taking a different slant on yesterdays result and the comments made by THE SUN newspaper (the same paper that tried to destroy the characters on the Liverpool fans involved in the Hillsborough Disaster ), My opinion.

So the ref decided it was a goal. Yes maybe VAR would have not given the goal.
Take that goal away and we would have lost 1-0. That result to the supposed best team on the planet (not my opinion )
I would have taken that result and the performance .

Onwards and upwards.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2018 14:21:24
Why would we have lost 1-0? The game would have been completely different as it would have restarted with a free kick in the 6 yard box. City would not have been forced to chase the game and, you never know, we might have gone on to win.

27 Aug 2018 19:35:44
Correct Old Wulf. How could you possibly say we would have lost one nil! Game would have been completely ( or slightly ) different. Their goal wouldn't have existed the way it did because whatever happened after the "disallowed" goal would have changed the universe in a way we will never know, ever so slightly. Might have won or lost 3 nil, or probably somewhere in between.

27 Aug 2018 20:19:09
That was just theoretical, my point was if we had lost 0-1 to the might of Man City and with the performance we put in I would have been happy and proud .

28 Aug 2018 09:40:17
Not worth responding old head. It was obvious what you were saying to 99% of the fans 😂.

28 Aug 2018 14:11:14
going back to the Sun report, well you could call it that but I don't think the game was actually mentioned, just talk about Guardiola. they actually said he was offside and meant to use his hand, did they watch it? the ball just hit his hand, his arm then flopped about, if he meant to punch it his arm would have been rigid. in my opinion he missed the header and it HIT his hand, not the other way round. I know it shouldn't have stood but it was never a foul on Stirling for their goal. swings and roundabouts.

28 Aug 2018 15:29:02
Sterling look a perfectly timed dive over an outstretched leg. No foul.

28 Aug 2018 20:59:40
camo, maybe meet and have a beer and a chin wag some time.

29 Aug 2018 08:39:17
That would be great, but I live in Cornwall at the moment.

01 Sep 2018 21:29:31
Old Head. Take no notice of what THE **** newspaper says. Not fit to wrap fish and chips in.

25 Aug 2018 20:47:25
You can see the understanding between Neves and Mouthino starting to take shape and it can be only a matter of time before Traore starts to click as well.
Get the international break out of the way and I personally think that there is nothing to fear in this division.
We ain't going down boy's!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2018 10:11:28
I thought Traore clicked very well. I hear some Man United fans were drooling over his runs and want to sign him.

27 Aug 2018 12:01:56
Its a pity they haven't got a manager that can spot the talent for himself.

27 Aug 2018 13:55:58
My thinking noddyboy. ManU like to sign superstars and tend not to scout the lower divisions or even the lower Premier teams. Not any more anyway. Everton are as low as they are likely to go. And have done.

28 Aug 2018 10:01:01
Maureen's cheque book strategy at Man U doesn't look too clever now. Respect? He's got to be joking!

19 Aug 2018 18:33:17
I see the Sun on Sunday are reporting that Man City are ready to bid £60m for Neves in January. For us to accept that bid, Fosun should say we want De Bruyne as well as the £60m.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2018 23:04:27
Nothing to do with us playing them next that this story appeared.

21 Aug 2018 16:43:12
Jas M and WindowWolf - you both took the words right out of my mouth. The timing of the 'story' is typical Guardiola mind games just like he did at Barcelona all the time.

22 Aug 2018 16:52:18
I'd take it as a compliment that he feels the need to play mind games with us if that's the case, obviously running scared!

24 Aug 2018 12:52:37
Pep plays mind-games whatever the opposition. He would even do it against a pub team. Don't let that fool us he's scared!

19 Aug 2018 11:47:54
Last season Nuno pulled a masterstroke by playing Coady as third centre half. He now needs to pull another masterstroke by replacing him with Saiss.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2018 13:04:09
Yeah Saiss did so great last time he played there for us didn't he?

19 Aug 2018 20:24:33
I think Saiss needs to be in midfield to break up play and give the back three more protection. Also put Hause in at Centre back and have Coady sit the MC game out.

19 Aug 2018 23:53:11
There used to be an old saying "win the midfield and you win the match" North. All teams used to have one and most still do so i agree that is what is needed be it Saiss or the new guy. Sure Nuno knows best and will sort it.
UTW.

20 Aug 2018 19:43:08
Batth as sweeper. Intelligence over speed v. Man. City. Play his way into England squad.

21 Aug 2018 16:47:28
WobblyBobblies - since Jeff Astle missed that absolute open goal sitter against Brazil in the 1970 World Cup (you know the one, easier to score than miss) I don't think anyone from a Black Country club has been given much chance in an England squad.

19 Aug 2018 01:00:18
A few of the usual moaners are forgetting Leicester were champs 3 years ago so there is no shame in losing to them.
Infact I suspect those moaners aren't true fans anyway. The wins will come for us we'll be fine I have predicted 15th as a finish for this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2018 22:09:13
I agree we could have won the game easily we just had a bad day they got very lucky with there goals another day those goals would have gone in.

20 Aug 2018 14:37:19
Winning away from home in the Premier League is tough. Losing away at Leicester is not unexpected. Need to remind ourselves that we just got promoted. Shame that Wolves were so unlucky with the OG and deflection. Molineux results will be the most important ones.

Hopefully our luck will change against City. Could do with another red card for the opposition to give us a better chance. Would be nice to get a penalty early on to take the lead in the game and settle the nerves. You never know in football. Could win 1-0 or lose 5-0, that's why we love football.

16 Aug 2018 19:08:59
Tell you one player I wouldn't mind on a free for a season would be Yaya Troure. If he's physically up to it of course and his wages aren't stupid (which I suspect they would be mind) .

Just think at his age a Coady type move to the back as a ball playing CB could work a treat! Not to mention he would cover there and DMF. I mean if protecting a lead with 20 mins to go away I couldn't think of a better defensive sub! Again I think it won't happen cause we are clearly happy with the current balance to the team but just a thought ;) COYW.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2018 12:18:22
If I remember, Bullysboy, Yaya stated he would play in the prem lge for £1 if any team were interested. Can't better that!

18 Aug 2018 20:22:12
Half-time losing 2-0 to worst team in league. Wolves will go down - too many tippy/ tappy Portuguese posers. Neves, Batth and Hause are only Prem-level players.

18 Aug 2018 22:16:36
We were unlucky. One of the Portugese posers hit the bar and we hit the post twice. On another day they go in and we win.

18 Aug 2018 23:43:56
Sorry Jas but that isn't the case. Jota looks a shadow of the player from last year and Costa looks fat and uninterested. Bonatini looked terrible when he came on and Bennett is too slow. Adama was a bright spark and I think Jimenez works so hard. We all know about the class of Neves and we are missing Cav and Dendonker but this is the premisership, you don't take the chance you get punished. I'd take 17th now.

19 Aug 2018 12:55:29
WobblyBobbly is clearly a troll and needs removing from the site and Costa fat? Hahahahahahahahahahaha

I hate our fans. We’ve played well against 2 top half teams and we were unlucky with both results. Give the players some time, we will be more than fine, chill out and let Fosun and Nuno do what they do.

I’ll aay it now, the only thing stopping Fosun make Wolves a force will be our stupid fickle fans.

19 Aug 2018 13:09:58
We played very well and at times gave Leicester a footballing lesson. Without a doubt the best team lost as even the Leicester manager admitted afterwards. Sure we lost but that was largely down to terrible luck. We could and probably should have been 3-0 up inside the opening 25 minutes. Leicester then got two huge slices of luck - a freak own goal and a long range deflected shot - that turned the game on its head. Thereafter we lacked the cutting edge to recover. Bonatini is hopelessly out of his depth. Bennett was our best defender as he was last week. Neves and Moutinho look good together and Jimenez is very decent. At the moment our wing backs and our attacking threats - Costa, Jota etc - look out of sorts but good players don’t become bad players overnight. We will be absolutely fine this season. Top half without a doubt. I can count at least 1/ teams worse than us and that includes Leicester.

OODCL.

19 Aug 2018 14:44:10
StuuCorbett - well said. I’ve raised the Wobblybobbly being a troll on here before but still he seems to be happy to spout his silly garbage.

19 Aug 2018 14:58:28
wobbly is a Sandwell town fan DAS, Ignore him, just trying to stir things up.

19 Aug 2018 15:37:07
Good summary DAS. Definitely things to improve on, but there is much to give confidence in a reasonable finish. There is a touch of realism for those who predicted top 6 finish.

22 Aug 2018 07:38:44
Well I was more then happy the way we played it isn't a 1 game season we will grow into the league we are going off 2 games in the best league in the WORLD keep the faith.

16 Aug 2018 09:23:32
Kortney Hause going out on loan?
Not sure that's a good idea.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Aug 2018 21:00:56
Cavaleiro out for 6 weeks. Time for Adama to step up and show us he's up to the task.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2018 10:56:53
Unfortunate about Cav but we have adequate options on the wing. Just as well. Some fans thought we had too many wingers.

15 Aug 2018 21:52:20
Bakary Sako is a free agent and looking for a club. cools be adequate cover?

16 Aug 2018 11:09:12
I have thought that for a while Oxleymoorwolf but I haven't posted it as I know there are fans on here who will shoot you down that we need to "move on". However given Cavaleiro's injury and Douglas' departure it makes sense to me as cover and a left footed free kick option. A one year deal or even a deal until January to give him potential game time and cover our injuries seems to make sense to me.

16 Aug 2018 12:52:07
It's not a regressive step to consider Bakary Sako in the circumstances. Cav is injured and Traore is recovering from his shoulder injury. We could sign Sako till January in case of emergencies. I think he fared better in the PL than Afobe.

16 Aug 2018 14:50:07
Why? Why do we need Sako? Erm. You guys are so funny. It's like you don't actually know football or the team. And shows you don't understand the tactics. We don't need more effing creative players. -rolls eyes-

We needed a striker. Don't have one. Will have to settle for a player that is bad at one-on-ones.

Everton were dirty, and we rode our luck. We had a lot of the possession with nowhere to pass to. We look uninspired. And the fans are deluded. The tripe that frequent E&S have no promoted Raul to role of "hero" as apparently he was the hero of the game. Sorry Neves, we know you scored and assisted but Raul's ONLY contribution to the game meant more to persons that are no smarter than a single-cell organism.

We need a striker that can give us someone to pass to in the final third. The proof was on BT for all to see. We hit a wall and Costa and Jota cannot pass to themselves.

16 Aug 2018 16:23:10
Deep throat you surely mean wingers?

16 Aug 2018 16:33:27
FlawedPerfection.
You state that people don’t actually understand football because they are giving an opinion.
My 1st question to you is, how can you say we don’t have a striker?
Jimenez, Bonatini, Jota and Cav. All are strikers or can play as a striker.
We looked uninspired? We dominated the possession against a team who had 10 men and defended deep. Our style of play means that we will struggle to break a team down that defend deep with 2 banks of 4. Let’s not forget how experienced the Everton team are. PLUS they stopped our main threat of attacking down the wing by playing Baines and Coleman, who a couple of years ago could be argued they were the best full backs in the division.

Please give your proof that Jimenez is bad at one on ones? Because he missed one against Everton?

Please don’t try and belittle people for their opinion. After all football is all about opinion.

16 Aug 2018 18:12:08
Flawed-the irony of YOU moaning about other people not understanding football is genuinely HILARIOUS! Especially as you can include Nuno in that statement as he seems to think we have two pretty useful strikers! Oh and the icing on the football knowledge cake is your saying Jimenez did nothing but score! Two things fella, firstly if a striker scores then that's not a bad performance because its what they are paid to do! Secondly if you really think he did nothing then you need to stop watching BT and get down the Mol sunshine because you may not have seen his 'off camera' work but the lad ran his knackers off! Of course he can and will improve on his game play but his work rate was spot on! Also your comments only highlight that YOU 'don't understand our tactics' cause you say about 'poor' Costa and Jota but frankly last match they struggled to pass to anyone! If you ACTUALLY new anything about football you may have noticed that the reason Jimenez only had a couple of chances in the game is because the two mentioned did not play well (by their own usually high standards) . In fact for most of the game the lad was feeding on scraps and STILL running down EVERY loose ball!
I'm off to watch some old footage, I do hope Pele doesn't miss a one on one else he might be deemed 'not a striker'! Heres a thought maybe stop being SO abrasive in your posts, it wouldn't be SO frustrating if you didn't spout such complete nonsense!

{Ed001's Note - Flawed is a troll who I have asked to be deleted because he is obviously a WUM. You could see on the TV that Jimenez worked damn hard and was a huge part of the performance.}

16 Aug 2018 18:45:36
Cheers Ed, what worries me more is if he's not a WUM! Just clueless! ;)

{Ed001's Note - I am sure he must be with his countless childish and petty digs at spelling etc.}

16 Aug 2018 18:52:31
On a side note I also wouldn't resign Sako and am fairly sure the club won't either. Cause if they felt we needed another player there they would have got one, who is younger and has more potential/ longevity. Also with this we would have to sign him for the year as you are no longer allowed short term contracts on unsigned players, its a season minimum. Which makes it a waste of money just to cover a six week injury, besides this is exactly why we paid all the money for Traore! Add to all that the fact that he never made it at Palace cause he's been blighted by injury for the last few seasons. I suspect he will head back to France on a free.
We will always have the memory's and there are some GREAT ones credit where its due. But we've moved on and so has he. Onward and upwards! COYW ;)

{Ed001's Note - you can sign players for less than a season. When doing the daily news round up I do I have noticed a few players signing until January. Unless that is League 1 and 2 only? I can't remember the details.}

16 Aug 2018 18:57:01
Ah ok Ed, apologies for some reason I thought they'd changed it in the Prem a season or so back to one season minimum ;)

{Ed001's Note - they might have done, like I said, they might only have been lower league ones. I can't remember now, they all start to merge into one after a while! Now I am thinking about it, I think you are correct and I am wrong.}

16 Aug 2018 20:22:02
Bloody predictive text should have said whingers!

18 Aug 2018 20:21:44
Why is Batth not on the bench? Going out on loan? If he goes I will get me Wobbly Bobblies out in Billy Wright stand v. Man City and risk arrest. This is the season Batth should kick-on and be in Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euros.

14 Aug 2018 13:22:52
Wolves are looking to agree a deal to sign Jordan Lukaku in January!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2018 03:32:54
Id take him, only a part time player at Lazio, but just being at lazio means he is extreamly Talented, Very good going forward, quick like crazy quick and strong and agile aswell, his a very big upgrade, i'd be delighted and would smash traores record of 18m I see lukaku being valued at roughly 20-25m.
