Everton and West Ham are supposed to be heavily scouting costa for a summer move, he apparently has a £25 million release clause.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2017 16:11:13
Might be worth letting him go for that type of wedge'we have Zyro&Graham to come back and they are good quality, solid players, ideal world we could hang on to him, but we still need 2 quality centre backs, a midfielder'if PL doesn't like Saiss and a 15/ 20 goal a seaason striker,25 mil would get 3 at minimum and possibly the 4 at a push.

06 Feb 2017 17:40:02
JimmyJones why would Lambert sell the best player in our club in the summer when we'll be challenging for promotion and plus aren't Fosun giving Lambert 30 million to spend. So I theory we have more than enough.

06 Feb 2017 18:40:29
Why would you sell your best player when you've a greater ambition, to get promoted to the PL and win it? Why would you? Hmm! There was me thinking what we actually need are at least another 10 players of the same calibre as Mr Costa!

06 Feb 2017 20:37:12
Seams we keep shooting ourselves in the foot, effort is there but is that enough you cannot keep beating the top sides then losing to average sides and our home record as got to be sorted out we are only 7 points off safety and although we have 5 games coming at home counting the cup game against chelsea we have to make these count and get clear of relegation and I'm afraid build for next year because it's clear to everyone we need 2 strikers for next season some creativity players in midfield and centre half without these players we will make the same mistakes over and over again.

06 Feb 2017 21:26:38
Ronan and Gibbs White may well save the midfield problem. They both seem like they want to go forward and feed the strikers, something we have missed for years. If so, it should help Dicko score again. I'd also like to see Burgoyne replace Ikeme permanently.

I can't remember the name, but we also have a promising young centre back coming through. This would be perfect, too.

07 Feb 2017 08:40:22
I'm glad to see the MD stating we haven't bought Costa to sell him in the summer! We have the money and if we have the ambition the sort of players we need in a number of positions need to be a couple of levels up from the past! When that happens we will see movement in the right direction.

I realise there's the fair play league that we have to adhere to, however, deals constructed in the right way would enable us to manage this. It's quality, quality, quality that's required. It's got to start here and now. ⚽️👍😉.

07 Feb 2017 11:15:03
U keep your best players and build round them! Not rocket science jimmyjones.

07 Feb 2017 11:55:51
I realy hope Costa stays for another season, then if we don't go up you cannot blame him then for leaving, but we have to start getting the team sorted out for him to stay, we are still a long way from a promotion side if I am being honest as much as I like our commitments especially against the better teams we cannot keep taking 1 step forward and 2 back, that was a sickener to lose to Burton no disrespect to them but it was like ground hog day again them scoring last kick like they did at the molineux, how many points have we throwed away last minutes in a game the list just goes on and on.
And the striker problem when are we going to get a 15 to 20 goal striker or strikers in our team that will take the pressure off, midfield no creativity, lots of graft but average players, defence need a centre half similar to Williamson if he is not playing to sort the back four out.

07 Feb 2017 12:05:32
We need to keep our best players if we are to move forward but if like amsterdamwolf says if he has got a release clause in his contract then its up to Mr Costa to decide if he wants to stay and remember there is no loyalty in football anymore only MONEY.

07 Feb 2017 12:20:40
PT, as good as Costa is'and he's one of the best I've seen in our colours'he isn't going to get us promoted on his own, if the defence and midfield are below par and failing to deal with the same problems and mistakes, game in game out then we aren't going anywhere'as I stated, ideally keep him, and add the quality players to the area's I suggested'if that's not possible use the money from his sale to get the 3or4 players that could give us better quality and hard bitten edge'all over the pitch that's currently missing from the squad.

07 Feb 2017 13:16:31
Money isn't the problem were not run by Morgan and Moxey. Costa must stay for another season at least and 4 or 5 players added of his quality. As I've said before Fosun are a conglomerate who can use other branches ie med playa cirque de soleil etc to get round financial fair play.

07 Feb 2017 13:26:08
Agree 100% Paul however money talks and if there is a release clause triggered in his contract then he will leave because someone who is willing to pay 25/ 30 million for him will double if not treble his wages.

07 Feb 2017 16:39:51
I think the best person that can come through our academy this season is Ennis I know I said this last season but he will definitely be able to replace dicko in my opinion. I don't want a completely young side we need some players with experience Edwards is a prime example. For targets we need some people who can feed the ball through. Ronan is a good example but I prefer him on the wing.

07 Feb 2017 17:36:28
PT has got it right! We have to keep Costa if we are to attract other players of his quality! It all goes down the tube if he goes. Fosun stated they have very ambitious plans for the club. To achieve those ambitions a lot more quality has to be added and a number of departures will happen.

their ambitions go beyond just getting into the premier league. personally I believe their will be many changes in personnel over the next 2 years. If there isn't we won't be moving anywhere too quickly! ⚽️👍😉.

07 Feb 2017 20:17:24
Still cannot get over that game against Burton thought we were getting over those silly defensive mistakes then that happens, you would never think in a million years that was the side that beat Liverpool well we cannot blame Bathe this time he didn't play.
Were do we go from here seams to me we have players who give 100 per cent but are truly average players, the striker, midfield and defender situations as gone on to long for me now we need to sort it out for next season it's the spine of the team were we are lacking and until this as been sorted we will just be an average side who will play one good game in three.

08 Feb 2017 09:16:54
Wish everybody would chill out .
We win a game we are brilliant
We lose a game we are the worst team ever and it's somebody's fault.
It's football losses to "Burton" happen to everybody.
Rome wasn't built in a day.

08 Feb 2017 10:35:51
I agree with Wavid about Ronan and Gibss-White. We've been playing too much from midfield, with strikers little more than the front line of midfield. If we can feed the ball to Bod or whoever more frequently then we should see more of those turn-shoot-score goals we all love. Many of our goals come from set pieces and from crosses along a 5-man front line. Let's mix it up a bit!

08 Feb 2017 19:21:48
Love me Wolves
Aye rocket science is it
Sell Costa for a huge profit
Let Lambo loose with a 40 mill warchest
game over.

08 Feb 2017 19:22:45
The problem is we have players who run the front line, yet players who sit too deep in the second line (Evans, Saville, Price) . Good teams don't need to 'protect' the defence because it should be good enough to.

The other problem is that none of these players are quick enough to keep up with the wingers, nor able to pass accurately enough to find them. The creates a noticeable 'hole' in the middle which Dave Edwards runs around trying to backtrack (like marathon man) . We have had this problem for far too long now and it's about time Thelwell and co did something about it.

Also, bringing in a '20 goals a season striker' won't fix the problem. Dicko, Edwards and Bod would score us the goals with the service Evans, Price and Saville should be giving them (unfortunately they are truly awful, awful league one players) .

In short, we need two new midfielders and two new centre halves. And when I say this, I don't just mean lads from league one or a youth system. I'm talking about ex premiership quality, players who have been worth £10 million plus at some point during their careers.

This is what will need to happen if Fosun really are serious about getting promotion next year. Talk of promotion is completely laughable with our current midfield and the current pick the name out of a hat (Batth, Stears, Iorfa, Hause or Williamson) scenario we have every week.

08 Feb 2017 20:54:32
Wavidsmith I completely agree I was at the Sheffield Wednesday game in which Edwards was a headless Chicken with all the running he was doing we need Saiss to come back and play the same role price does only add something extra but another midfielder who is really good at the moment is what we need Saiss to pair up with. Then our back line is sorted as well as are passing up front.

08 Feb 2017 23:37:29
It's so easy to see, isn't it? Yet, for some reason, the last window was used to secure 3 more wingers! How many wingers does one club need, ? We have 7 excellent wingers now, by my reckoning.

You are right, Saiss should be used ahead of the others, but I've got this horrible feeling PL will dispense of him in favour of plodder Price and co. I will be soooo mad if the club brings no new quality midfielders or centre halves in this summer but even more mad if we keep some of the current rubbish we have had at Wolves for far too long.

09 Feb 2017 11:04:51
Leicester - Premier League Champions
Kante protecting back 4
Chelsea - Premier League Champions a few years ago
Makelele protecting back 4
Barcelona - "best team in world"
Busquets protecting back 4
Swansea - rising through the leagues
Britton protecting back 4
Liverpool - Champions League Winners
Xabi Alonso protecting back 4
Chelsea now
Kante protecting back 4

Modern football isn't about 442 and simple tactics anymore, a holding midfielder is now as important as a clinical striker, with how important attacking full backs are becoming a holding midfielder will cover for them.

09 Feb 2017 11:19:30
Agree StuuCorbett as is showin with Leicester now, kante goes Chelsea they prosper Leicester go downhill. But that player who does the job of protecting the back 4 must be QUALITY.

09 Feb 2017 13:46:20
Yes one holding midfielder, not two like us lol. Those players mentioned above also have more ability in their little finger than Price and Savlon have in their entire body.

Like I said, if Saiss was brought in to do that job, i really hope PL doesn't overlook him in favour of those two plodders.

10 Feb 2017 18:00:29
I wasn't comparing them to any wolves player. All I was getting at was that a holding midfielder is important. Jack Price is by far our best holding midfielder, he keeps the ball and keeps play moving creates a link between defence and midfield, and covers for out of positioned players. He is plenty good enough for a top end Championship team and is still young enough to develop his game.
For me Price suits the premier league more than the championship as did Leon Britton as they are not blessed with physicality and strength.

11 Feb 2017 13:58:08
Price is far better than Evans or Saville (er, who isn't? ), but definitely NOT Premiership standard, lol. He'd never get into the Brighton or Newcastle team, either.

If Price plays, you need a very substantial midfielder next to him that can drive forward. We currently don't have one of those.

04 Feb 2017 23:42:22
I think it's time for mr lambert to play a settled 11 and stop messing about changing it all the time. Put your best team out and challenge the rest to get in it.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2017 09:31:46
Play captain Batth regularly.

05 Feb 2017 09:58:56
Problem is we've won two cup ties against Prem opposition playin Saville and Evans when we all know their not good enough and neither can lace Priceys boots. Price should of played yesterday and Time to put Dicko out to graze, Top centre half, centre mid and 20 goal a season striker required in the summer.

05 Feb 2017 11:57:03
Evans and Saville are such poor players. In reality, you should only choose between Saiss, Price and Edwards and toss the other two off. With Edwards basically a number 10, we desperately need a quality midfielder.

I'm personally not that concerned with the striker position as Dicko should eventually come good with the right service. As I've said before, bringing Sako back would be the best thing for Dicko but PL seems to like Weimann now.

05 Feb 2017 13:25:35
I said about Evans and Saville last week and it was like I'd said Steve Bull was awful! Saiss should play for sure and I'm one of the few that likes coady in the centre as his work rate is brilliant allowing dangerous to get forward. Agree with Dicko he looks like he can't do it anymore. May be worth giving weimann a go through the centre when cav is back.

05 Feb 2017 16:55:47
I am not convinced about Cav, he disappears far more often than he turns it on and his final delivery is poor. I agree with wavid - bring back Sako who is proven at this level. Regards central midfield, I have never rated Saville since he has been here and agree he needs to move on. We look so much better with Price in the XI.

05 Feb 2017 18:05:08
Please just shut up about Sacko!

05 Feb 2017 18:21:46
Shyted, we all have an opinion. No need to be abusive just because you do not agree.

05 Feb 2017 18:02:16
I like Coady, too, and i'm kind of hoping Marshall can adapt to midfield so both can play at the same time. I just can't believe PL would be stupid enough start with 2 league one players (Saville, Evans) in the most important part of the pitch. Price isn't the answer, either.

05 Feb 2017 18:32:56
I see on 'Wolves newsnow' it's being said that Burton A was a reality check. Well the check is, we need quality strikers that do that, strike. Apart from a Mason goal a few games ago, the pot has been empty across the board with our current crop. Does anyone remember KJ banging on about trying to get C Woods to the Mol and plenty of folk saying we don't want him here.

Well, we could do with him now couldn't we? Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he the leading scorer in the championship at the mo?! His goals have put Leeds up amongst the front runners.

Sorry for banging on about it, but we need quality strikers and we are in the situation fortunately where our owners are extremely wrathful. So we should have aid up and got a couple of quality goal scorers. Costa was just one piece of the jigsaw! Great player. The ambition will only be realised by adding quality to the team. Ask Chelsea, Man United, and any of the best teams. 👍😉⚽️.

05 Feb 2017 18:51:25
Toss Weimann and Cav off in the summer and bring back Sako. It's what we all want anyway.

05 Feb 2017 19:15:20
Again I completely disagree. I think Sako has had his time in the championship and I believe he needs more game time in order to succeed.

I believe Cav needs more time as does Bodvasson.

05 Feb 2017 21:39:54
Can I just point out that we were drawing the game 1-1 when Saville went off and we'll in the game. It was after he went off that Burton started dominating the midfield. Just saying.

05 Feb 2017 20:41:37
I agree with Bodvarsson. His workrate is faultless and I think that both he and Dicko are faultless in their dedication but all the running they do is largely detrimental to them scoring due to the way we are set up. They barely get clear cut chances and are snatching at them because they are desparate to score. I have a lot of sympathy.

However, there does come a point where the strikers need to get goals. I would not look to move them on though as they do contribute and hopefully one will off their backside will get them going. Confidence has always been key to any successful striker.

My beef with Cav is that half the time, he does not look interested. He may have all the skill in the world but if he is not prepared to work for the team and be a showpony by trying to beat a defender three times, with no end product, then I would rather he left.

Its a fine balance between ability and a team who merely put a shift in as Merlin used to say, but I know Wolves fans at least appreciate the effort and largely would want to see that.

05 Feb 2017 21:10:55
Look, the point about our strikers not scoring is due to the midfield. If you were to have Price, Saville or Evans feeding you, you ain't going to get many chances to score. Believe me, Dicko is fine, it's just the midfield as usual that sit too deep that's the problem. He originally thrived from Sako and McDonald but the current crop couldn't find a cutting pass if it jumped up and hit them.

I hate it when people go on about signing another striker. Look at the Villa/ McCormack problem, . We don't need yet another striker, just a couple of decent players who are able to make the transition from defence to attack. I wish people would understand this before they spout the 'why didn't we buy Rhodes' crap. Do you really think Rhodes would score 20 goals a season from the likes of our shitty central midfield? Exactly.

Judge Dicko when we have quality in the middle. At the moment, it's pretty unfair to write him off due to the inability of those behind him. It's also a pity we got rid of McDonald who was the only player who could hit a 30 yard pass to feet.

05 Feb 2017 21:41:41
Historically, Wolves have always had good creative midfielders (Hibbitt, Cook, Burke, Thomas, Emblen, Marsden, Huddlestone, McDonald) . Now Compare Coady, Price, Saville, Edwards and Evans lol.

05 Feb 2017 22:44:58
I don't disagree with your comment at all wavid. I like both Dicko and Bodvarsson and maybe it's time to actually pair them from the start and play what seems to be an old fashioned 442. At the moment our only creativity is from the wing, so let's utilise it and play two holding midfielders to protect the back four, which frankly needs all the protection it can get.

People forget that we have two wingers to come back with Graham and Zyro; Zyro of course can also give us another option up front. So we do have strength to come in those positions.

I don't really like the fact that the team is constantly changing, but given that we are going nowhere this season, if Lambert is giving everyone gametime to sift out who needs to go in the summer, I will accept that. But creativity from the middle should be key alongside the centre half situation.

05 Feb 2017 23:45:00
That's the whole problem, tho. All opposition know that to stop us, all you have to do is cut our supply to the wide men. There is a constant hole in the middle of the park where Coady, Price, Saville or Evans don't have the quality to fill. They try and cover this by getting Edwards to run around like a headless chicken, but it's basically like having only 10 men on the pitch every game.

06 Feb 2017 00:24:10
There is something seriously wrong if you have to field a team with 2 midfielders to protect the back 4. A decent defender shouldn't need 'protecting'! Considering Saiss was bought for this role, anyway, it begs the question why we continually go back to Saville, Price and Evans. I sincerely hope PL gives Saiss a chance because he's a far better player than any of those 3.

06 Feb 2017 09:46:44
Once again none of our strikers are or have been striking for how long now? They don't have the same composure in front of goal that say Costa has. I don't deny the work rate, but there has to be an end product!

Our midfield could be better I agree, but Edwards has been our saviour and a revelation so far this season. We can't continually depend on him and costa though can we? We should have invested in a quality striker is all I'm saying. We won't make top six now. I was hopeful if we had won the at BA! Well I can be optimistic can't I? ⚽️👍😉.

06 Feb 2017 15:23:33
So many comments.

Right, Wavid, Price may or may not be the answer but I think we can agree that Saville and Evans are the question. What worked against PL second elevens isn't working against hardened Championship teams.

Edwards is a bit of a problem. He likes to get forward and score. Perhaps he should be feeding the strikers rather than trying to be one himself? As others have said, our strikers are fine. They battle up front, but they just don't see enough of the ball.

Defence - yes it's gone back to the bad days. Because Batth wasn't playing? Maybe. But that doesn't explain the doziness of Coady and Doc. Or does it? Whatever we were doing before the cup games is where we should going back to.

My starting 11 would be 4-4-1-1
Ikeme
Coady/ Marshall Batth/ Hause Stearman Doc
Costa Saiss Price Ronan
Edwards/ Cav Bodvarsson

Subs: alts as above plus Mason, Dicko, Burgoyne and Weimann (or maybe Gibbs-White)

Correct, no Evans or Saville. I know there are 3 strikers on the bench but I think these are our best players. Not sure what to do about Iorfa or Bright. They aren't game-changers.

Just a thought, but, when your forwards are struggling to score and there seems to be a coach for every position, wouldn't it be great if you had somebody knockin' around the club who could show 'em how it's done?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 21:23:00
Time for fans not to accept 2nd best. we're the liverpool of the championship who live in the past. I want top 6 in the premier in 4 years. we've got the money to back it and the fans. were just missing a defence and a goal scorer. lambert will smash it come the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Feb 2017 13:26:37
He's turned the corner for us. Hopefully we won't go down now! Outside chance of playoffs, but I think Burton showed us we still have work on the back 4 to do. If we finish top half I think we can say he's done well for us. But then again, Jackett would probably have got us to top half.

03 Feb 2017 22:15:59
Joe Hart apparently a possible sale for $15million. Should we be interested?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 09:51:07
Is this a joke.? Joe Hart in the championship.?

04 Feb 2017 10:13:15
No, our goalies are better.

05 Feb 2017 11:19:34
Only Wolves can do this beat top teams and lose to bottom teams, not very good at all against Burton in fact it was terrible making same mistakes all over again, don't think we created nothing and Dicho cannot buy a goal, we cannot keep relying on Edwards to keep scoring we need a 15 to 20 goal striker next year in fact 2 strikers in my opinion if we are to get promoted
Our strikers have got to start turning up or be replaced simple realy, score goals get defence right and you start winning matches, no excuses no disrespect to Burton you have to beat these teams or at least come away with a point anything else is not good enough, it had to be another Wolves player come back to haunt we kightley.

03 Feb 2017 21:09:48
Jez Moxey coming back to Wolves? I hope this is not true!

03 Feb 2017 21:40:56
No chance.

He is not.

It is rumoured that Arsenal are prepared to offer 2.5 million and Yaya Sanogo to persuade Bright Enobakhare to join the london club. What do we think of this?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Feb 2017 10:51:52
a little strange lol.

03 Feb 2017 11:31:19
We're bigger and richer than The bridesmaid arsenal

03 Feb 2017 12:55:38
Think the talking starts at 10m for any of our first team squad it's Sa-no-go

03 Feb 2017 14:07:16
And it's a sag no from me to.

04 Feb 2017 08:53:47
Very good OMR the rumour is bull anyway and that's bull not Bull.

04 Feb 2017 10:14:40
Dangereux - it is rumoured that Wolves are prepared to offer Arsenal £50m plus James Henry and Paul Gladon for Alexis Sanchez. What do you reckon? About as likely as your 'rumour'?

04 Feb 2017 13:01:19
Be good for our bench can't see him replacing our strikers.

02 Feb 2017 21:44:58
Moxey has resigned at Norwich. Please not coming back to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2017 23:27:05
Let's just hope he leaves football behind now.

02 Feb 2017 23:34:05
Moxey is a free agent!
OMG.
Could have happened to a nicer man.

03 Feb 2017 06:04:45
Obviously Norwich saw the light long before we did, maybe he didn't like the pies at Carrow Road

03 Feb 2017 08:28:03
Who put the grim in Grimsby, who put the xxxx in Scunthorpe? And who put the mo in molineux - was it Moxey, the returning prodigal?

03 Feb 2017 09:48:41
don't worry, he'll be back.

03 Feb 2017 10:21:09
Apparently he's looking at Notts forest good luck.

03 Feb 2017 11:13:46
Been told by a friend who is an Ipswich fan that the Norwich board do not like his tight approach to spending - there was money to spend in Jan but Moxey was only after a bargain where the board are keen to spend whatever they need to get back in the Prem

03 Feb 2017 11:16:13
I'm really hoping he gets a position on the board at the Poorthorns

02 Feb 2017 11:41:04
Drogba is a free agent now. He will definitely get goals. We can afford him so why not?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2017 13:32:55
That would be some signing.!

02 Feb 2017 13:37:33
It's rumoured he's going back to Chelsea as a coach

02 Feb 2017 15:04:51
Essein also free agent.

02 Feb 2017 15:44:47
Why not go in for him as a player/ coach? The same could be an idea for Keane for those sentimentalists, like me. Their effectiveness on the pitch may be on the wane but their experience and presence in what is a young dressing room would be invaluable.

02 Feb 2017 15:48:39
I was thinking the same thing, but with Lampard

02 Feb 2017 21:23:44
Good thinking guys but Lampard has officially retired as of today. But the others you mention are great calls

02 Feb 2017 22:18:19
Norwich chief exc Jez moxey has resigned after falling out with Delia smith didn't take long for them 2 get rid took us 15yrs

03 Feb 2017 10:35:11
Must of fell out with Delia Smith over her pies.

31 Jan 2017 22:35:06
Marshall 3.5 year deal 1.5 mill

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2017 08:37:19
Not sure why we have chased Marshall, a right winger- perhaps the left footed Costa will play left wing. I would rather of had Rhodes.

01 Feb 2017 09:42:08
I still think not buying a quality striker, like Rhodes will likely bite us on the you know where later this season. Cost us a real chance of making it to the PL. Another great result last night. Well done to the team and PL. 👍😉

01 Feb 2017 10:15:21
You really believe we could have made it to the prem this season?

I agree, the playoffs are not a million miles away from us. We are 10 points away, I think we missed a trick to not go for bogle and taylor could have even loaned out Dicko for the rest of the season to league 1. Let him score goals and get his confidence back for next season.

Marshall bought with a public price of £1.2m. I am told it was less, but Blackburn happy for that figure to be quoted.
Lambert know this guy and clearly has a role for him in the future team.
Totally agree we need a PL quality Striker, but this is the wrong time to buy!
Lambert will have his targets and I would be pretty sure he has already agreed a Budget with Jeff, so he knows how high up the "Food-Chain" he can go for all the Positions he feels he needs to strengthen.
We should be ALL feeling positive. Lambert likes Costa and pursuaded Jeff to pay out mega money, he has Andreas Weimann in on loan, who looked good against Liverpool and now Marshall.
Clearly Fosun are now seriously backing him!

I think Lambert is looking ahead with strikers. Weimann scored 12 goals in a PL season for Lambert. I would rather have him than Rhodes who has so far failed in the PL. Lambert obviously rates Dicko, and Dicko is playing well although not scoring, but his quality is there at this level.

I don't know if a top quality striker would make much of a difference as many of our goals come from midfield or set balls from defenders. It's the way we play. The strikers mostly hold the ball up front and they do have shots - just not very successful ones.

We have Mason, Dicko, Bright, Bod, Zyro and now Weimann with Costa, Cav, Ronan, Graham and depending on how your mind works, Edwards just behind. That's better than most clubs. Or should be. Patience.

Very soon Bod will shock us all with a hattrick.

Think Lambert is doing a great job, giving playing time to all players he wants to keep most likely or giving everyone a chance to prove themselves of interest and have to admire the game time he is giving to the kids, also Lambert says Marshall can play full back, also any were across the front or just behind also with championship experience could be a good sighning, let's not forget Andrea's Weimann, also can play up front or wide, so why would we want to pay 9 million for Rhodes when he cannot get in Borough side, proves not a premier player, anyway he as been sold or loaned to Sheffield Wednesday, I do not pretend that we need strengthening in key areas but Lambert with the experience he is showing will no doubt in my mind given time will get it right, the performances so far prove that, the players seam to be enjoying there football and there seams to be a buzz about the place, hope it continues.

They just paid £13m on one player, was that not enough? Rhodes would cost another £10m. Also, it's the defence which needs it most and Hanley is the player you should be regretting, if anyone.

I agree to most of what you say Rugeleywolf2. However, I still stand by what I say, we missed a trick by NOT signing a quality striker! We've just won 4 of our last 5 games, which is fantastic. Now is the time to put your foot down and ensure we've got a striker that can actually do that, strike.

Time will tell! Every year players are costing more and more to buy. Finding good proven quality strikers is not easy! As I've already said their value increases year on year and Rhodes is a proven commodity. 👍😉⚽️

As you say won four of five so why upset the applecart

01 Feb 2017 19:13:46
Carl Cort is on a free. Just saying.

Was that the first transfer window in a while where Frimpong hasn't been a serious suggestion?

02 Feb 2017 07:10:47
Word on the street up north is that Rhodes was always going to Sheff Wed because of his rather connection to the club. General view seems to be that his best role has been the final bit of quality to bring off the bench to get you promoted. But not a prem player so unload when promoted. He has been a good investment iin the past but with a new club every year how long will that last? We do have good options and PL would have given Ennis a chance if not injured. But I think PL may be tempted to Gallagher in the summer currently on loan at Blackburn.

The teams in the playoffs are there for a reason, do you really think were going to pick up that many more points than them?

02 Feb 2017 09:32:24
Seems that we will just have to get Robbie Keane in then

02 Feb 2017 10:00:17
Robbie Keane is a free agent, presumably. We could sign him if we wanted.

02 Feb 2017 10:36:35
Further down this thread someone actually said why upset the apple cart by getting an additional striker. Well all I can say is every really successful team has its 20 goal a season striker doesn't it? How many of ours actually strike? They don't have that composure needed when in front of goal.

That's what you pay for. I still think we will regret not getting a Rhodes in this last window. We needed to put our foot down while we are getting some momentum. Long may our current form last. They are doing a great job. Now was not the time to address the issue. 👍😉⚽️
